i cannot go bk to factory settings my  recovery partishion has been removed and disabled.Is there any way of reinstalling my recovery..on my resoures page it says, recovery volume available D. anyone who can help very much greatfull.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
As I understand it your recover partition has been removed, and you wish to restore it. I am happy to assist, but unfortunately your options are a bit limited depending on what you have.
Did you make a set of recovery disks or a recovery flash drive prior to removing the partition? If you did then you can use that/those to do a factory restore. Otherwise you would need to obtain a set of recovery media from HP.
Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive
No matter which way you go, it is always a good idea to back up any important data to another device before doing any system recovery or restore, just to be safe.

    You will need to make sure you have all of the latest drivers for your particular computer. Thank you for providing your product number! Here is the HP Driver page for your computer. 
    The specific problems you mentioned were no audio and error on PCI device in Device Manager. Installing the latest audio driver may fix both. Here is a direct link to the latest audio driver for your computer. Once you've installed the latest audio driver, if you still have an error on the PCI device in device manager, you will want to get the latest BIOS driver also. Here is a direct link to the latest BIOS driver for your computer. During the BIOS driver installation, your notebook will restart on its own. This is normal. 
    If you still have any errors after that please let me know!
    Also let me know if you have any questions or if these suggestions helped (this could help others who have similar issues). I'll keep an eye out for your reply.

  • Need help finding my serial number

    My computer at work crashed and i have to reinstall itunes but to sync it up with my ipod mini i need the serial number. I do not have this little sticker any more. Is there another way to retrieve the serial number? I have itunes installed on my home computer and had my ipod sync'd up there...is there a folder that has my serial number or can I call apple and have them retrieve it from my registration some how? Would anyone have a phone number for this type of support?

    I am attempting to reload itunes from the disk i got with the ipod. I have not attempted to connect the ipod yet...
    while attempting to install the grey ipod disk that came with the ipod, during the installation process i get a box that comes up that says:

    your serial number is 11 characters long and can be found on the back of your ipod
    I am working with a windows XP pro. I am not sure of the itunes version it is not noted on the disk that came with the ipod.

  • HT4061 I can't use my ipad mini.  All buttons are frozen including the on and off, can't even find the serial number, can't see it on the back, can't find it under settings because no buttons will work.  Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

    My ipad mini is frozen and won't allow me to use any buttons.  I can't access settings to get the serial number for Apple Support and I can't read the serial number from the back.  It's too small and shadowy.  There is a message that reads "ICloud Backup--This ipad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks.  Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in,locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
    It won't allow me to shut if off using the on and off button.  I stuck a paper clip into the tiny reset button, but nothing happens.
    Has anyone else had this problem?  Please help,

    This is the most common "fix" when devices are behaving strangely. It only takes a minute and there's no risk of lost data. This is the reason you'll see this fix being suggested so often.

    I have the same  problem. Have paid. Messages say I have downloaded it but the file is inaccessible apparently download is somewhere on my hard disk. How do I find it?? Is there not help at an Adobe phone service. If so what is the number to call??

    I have deactivated CS6 on my old laptop, but every time I try to enter the serial number to re-activate it tells me that it is invalid. Or could the problem be that it was previously installed on a PC, but now I have upgraded to a mac? Is there any way to fix this? Please help! Thank you!

    Normally a PC serial number is not valid for a Mac version.  I don't know if the following holds for Student/Teacher editions though there should be something similar...

    All I am trying to do right now is to obtain the serial number for my Student and Teacher (Academic) Edition <removed by moderator>, but I wanted to use my personal (home) e-mail address since this purchase is to be installed on my home computer.  The validation process seems to require my work e-mail address or a work id with embossed date (ours had no date and my id is at work).  The e-mail prompt indicates that all e-mail correspondence will go to the address I enter so if there is e-mail regarding this installation, on my home computer at my home e-mail address, any such e-mail instructions would then go to my work e-mail address.  So how do I obtain my serial number?

    I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium (Teacher and Student Edition).  I've purchased the upgrade to Adobe Photoshop CS6 - Trying to install, and it says the Adobe CS6 is valid - but only provides 'photoshop' options for entering my old serial number, rather than the adobe creative suite. How do I move past this so I can download it on my computer.  I don't want to upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite 6 - as I do not need all the programs, just photoshop.  From looking online, I read forums that said this was possible.  Please advise

    Unfortunately that option is not possible.
    You cannot upgrade a Creative Suite to a standalone product.
    Creative Suites can only be upgrades to other Creative Suites.
    You'll need to return Photoshop CS6 upgrade since you cannot use it.
    Return, cancel, or exchange an Adobe order
    Some options:
    Buy a Creative Suite upgrade, or
    Buy a full new copy of Photoshop CS6, or
    Join the Cloud

  • Adobe haven't responded to my serial number case!! Photoshop CS4 Extended Student Edition

    Hi - I bought the student edition of Photoshop CS4 a few weeks ago. I registered on here and sent of my case to get a serial number on 21st June. A notification confirmed I had done what was required and said I would receive a reply, and therefore my serial number, in 1 day. I STILL have not heard from them via my email and have checked all emails including junk files!! Also, on here is still says the case is open and Adobe response is pending. I have one day left on the 30 day free trial and REALLY need the serial number now!!
    I rang Adobe yesterday, and after about a half hour wait finally got someone on the other end - who said that the serial number would now be sent to 'the portal'. I'll be honest, I dont know what that means but assumed that I would receive an email with my serial number. No such luck - even though the status of my case seems to have been updated on 29th June (yesterday), I presume after the phone call. It hasn't been 'updated' though!! As in, no response has been made!! I am worrying now!
    What am I supposed to do?? Where / what is the portal - somehwere else I should be checking??? Did I not do something or do something wrong? All I did was register and then fill in / open case to get serial number, including scan of my NUS student card (name, birth date, photo) - is the student card number required? Because that is the only thing I can think of that I did not include - I wish Adobe would actually tell me if I have not filled something in or something...!!

    We are aware of the backlog in Customer Service to issue serial numbers for education versions of our applications. We are addressing this and expect to clear the backlog in a few days. In the meantime you can install and run your Student Edition in Trial mode. UK and Australia users, please be aware that when you install your application in trial mode you need to select English International from the language options, not the default language English (US).
    Otherwise your serial number you will receive shortly won't work until you reinstalled your CS4 product with the English International language selection.
