HP Network Printer + windows 7 64bit

Hi
I have a PC which I am using as a Printer Server. I have install 2 HP printers on it. One Colour(Clolor Laserjet Cp1515n) and other Black white (LaserJet 2300n). I am also running an autologin script on my main server which installc and connect my both printers on any 32bit machine on my network.
I have recently connected few Windows 7 64 bit machines on my network. Now here is the PROBLEM. My autologin script tries to install driver on Windows 7 64 bit machines but it could not find the driver for it since there isn't any driver on my main server or printer server.
How do I solve this issue. Shall intsall 64 bit driver on Printer server or there is an option on printers to enable drivers for 64 bit OS.

Since these are both network printers, why not just plug them into your network (router)? This seems like a complicated way of doing it.

Hi, I'm facing a problem with my old printer, the xerox phaser 3160n. It was connected to my notebook through network connection, and everything works well with Adobe X /Win 7 OS (including the double side print, of course) last month, I have upgraded my NB to windows 8 with clean install
clean install my printer driver for windows 8 too, and Adobe reader XI was also downloaded through official website.
However, since I was about to use double sided print in Adobe reader XI (11.00.02) it couldn't obey the order, but just print one side as usual
I have checked the "option" of my printer, and it was correctly set to "double-sided print". I have tried word 2013 to open the same pdf, and choose the same "double-sided print" and it works perfectly.
Is this problem a bug? and would it be corrected in the next update version??
(I remeber I've saw a similar issue too, with network printer, but I couldn't find it)

Meanwhile, after insatlling the latest driver for printer from the manufacture website, restart the spooler service as a test.
Start > Run > cmd and type "net stop spooler" after that "net start spooler" or start > run > service.msc and restart it over the GUI.
Run Printer Troubleshootor under Action Center\Troubleshooting\Programs\Printer, and check if it helps.
And yes, the manufacture should have more sence about the printer, it's recommended to contact them.

HP Photosmart Premium c309g wireless network printing problem with 64bit Windows 7

A problem exists where the c309g is installed on a wireless network where one of the PCs on the network is running 64bit Windows 7. Amongst other things, the printer may print very slowly, appear disconnected or unavailable through the HP Solutions Centre and may not be pingable from any of the PCs on the network. The problem will affect ALL the PCs on the network !
Network monitoring software will also show an enormous level of network traffic between the printer and the Windows 7 PC. As soon as the Windows 7 PC is switched off, everything returns to normal.
The problem is solved by disabling the HP Network Devices Support Service on the Windows 7 PC as follows;
Run services.msc from the Run command on the Windows 7 PC. This will display the list of all the local services running on the PC together with Description, Status and Startup Type information for each.
Scroll down the list until you see the HP Network Devices Support Service.
Right click on it and select Properties to bring up the Properties window.
Use the dropdown list to Change the Startup Type to Disabled.
Once disabled, the printer will start to work normally. HP are aware of this problem which may be unique to the 64bit version of Windows 7.

Thanks but no luck... I tried it..... Got back from son's baseball game.. checked on printer - as in tried to have printer print something... nothing... prior to going out I went ahead and deleted the 6 c309 print devices and reinstalled a new one and got the printer to work... after the game it was back to ignoring print commands... When I go to printers there again are 6 print devices for this printer - one titled HP Photsmart Premium C309 g-m... then 4 copies of that and then one version titled HP0AC58C (HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m).
As I just finished writting that... the printer came alive and started printing some previous jobs... so maybe it helped - not sure but what about the 6 versions of print devices? I just checked the statuses of all the versions and the default is offline... the various copies have different amounts in que but have a pending status of pending deletion... When I tried to make one of the other copies the default printer - it errors out with 0x00000709

PCL XL error, missing attributes of networking printing ( Windows 7 64 bit )

So here is the problem, proviously we were use win XP SP3 and all shared printer worked fine.Currently after migration to windows 7 64 bit this issue is appear. PCL XL error.

As I said before, the reported PCL XL error is nothing to do with any of the PJL commands (missing, or not).
The error is because a mandatory attribute is missing from the attribute list which precedes and quantifies the PCL XL BeginPage operator.
From the evidence you've supplied I can't properly analyse the PCL XL, but (I think) that I've reconstructed one small (but relevant) part of the stream, and here is an analysis of that part of the 'good' one:

The obvious conclusion is that the (PCL6) printer driver is at fault, but it's also perhaps possible that there is some fault in the interaction between the application (whatever that is) and the printer driver.
You could:
Check to see if there is a later version of the PCL6 driver available for your platform.
Or use a PCL5 (or perhaps PostScript) printer driver, since these will not cause PCL XL errors to be generated (although they may of course give rise to other faults).

The HP Smart Web Printing compatible with Internet Explorer 6,7 and 8.
The HP Smart Print compatible with internet Explorer 6,7,8 and 9.
HP does not provide any web printing solution for firefox.

Install P1505N on windows 7 64bit

I have downloaded ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe for the HP Laserjet P1505n on Windows 7. Installation stops asking for connection to USB. The printer is installed on my network. I upgraded my computer from Windows XP 32bit and am just tring to reinstall the print driver only for this notebook. If the 64-bit driver fails to install to the network, can I install the 32-bit driver instead? Is there another way to run the installation so that I can install just the driver to access this printer across the network on Windows 7 64bit?

The printer is an HP PSC 1610 attached via USB to a Windows XP computer. It is shared over the network, and I located it on my Mac, but whenever I print something out of any program, it just prints something like this with increasing indents:

I don't know what else becuase it indents off the page. After this page it proceeds to print blank pages until I stop it.
When I downloaded the HP install software and attached my Mac directly with USB, it works fine. So it is only when I try to print over a network that I get this problem.

Network printing/Windows printing only works with a driver that was meant for network printing. To use the OS X built-in CUPS network choices, you need a CUPS driver. For postscript printers, it's not an issue, because postscript is the native output of OS X, and can easily be routed to the various choices in Printer Setup.
Non-postscript printers are Very Different. Except for Brother, no manufacturer has provided CUPS drivers. Instead, what you get are Carbon, OS9 legacy drivers, that have the comm protocol written into the driver (mostly USB). They can only print via local connection.
Short version - HP's driver only works for USB.

Network printing via an Intel Netport Express print server

We have a 'complicated' network at home comprising two Macs (G4 800MHZs) and 6 PCs.Printing is either wirelessly to an HP D125xi which also serves as the network scanner, and wired via the Intel Netport Express Pro 100 to an HP690c and Epson 740C. However, I cannot get the Epson or HP 690 to print via the print server. Currently the Epson is served directly via a very long tortuous USB cable, and I can't be bothered with the HP690. I know all the IP addresses of the network, including the print server, but although I can see the print server on the network, when trying to access the printer ports on it, I have nothing to latch on to. Will this combination simply not work? I can access the print servier via my browser and set it up, but I can't get Printer Set-up Utility to get through to the printers, which are on LPT1 and LPT 2. The PCs have no problems with this arrangement and can print and scan across the network easily. PS I'm a user, not a tecchie, so please, any explanations in layman's terms. Thanks.

Then, after you have the driver, to setup for the print server you need to carefully read the manual to decide which protocol(s) are supported and then enter the right info into Printer Setup. The IPP and LPD protocols both require a device-specific queue name (also called port name), which should be in the manual. HP Jetdirect protocol doesn't use queue name. Common queue names are L1, lp, P1 etc. (If you know for sure it's LPT1 and LPT2, that good!) If the manual is no help, you can find the info in Windows printer properties > Ports > select port > Configure port.

Photosmart D7160 connected to desktop with Windows XP, issues with new laptop & network printing

We have a Photosmart D7160 connected to our desktop that runs Windows XP. I just got a new Acer laptop that runs Windows 7 (64bit). We set up a network to connect to the internet and so I can access documents that had been made on the desktop. I have not had issues using the printer off the desktop with any programs. I installed a creative program to create flyers, cards, etc onto the laptop. Same one as on the desktop. When trying to print off the laptop, I can not access the whole options on the printer. I forget the name of the options I want (maybe called printing preferences) but I would like to choose wether I am using the photo tray or presentation printing or economy printing, etc. I can only choose print. That is not good for printing cards, etc. I had made a recipe care template with that program and wanted to print one out.
What have I not done in setting up my laptop? I tried the to "add a printer" on a network and that did not fix my issue. Any help is appreciated. thanks.

Dunno if you've sorted your problem out, but I had exactly the same problem with a HP Photosmart 3100. I found some advice on http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6201674 regarding the firewall on the Mac and yes that is the problem. But as you'll see with my last post in that topic I cant figure out how to keep my firewall on AND have printer sharing. Just allowing printer sharing in the firewall settings is no help.

I'm introducing a Windows 7 64bit) computer in a network of Windows XP (32bit) computers.
How do I find driver(s) to print on HP Laserjet 4000n and HP Deskjet 722C printers in a network that uses Windows 7 (64bit) and Windows XP (32bit)? Printer sharing is done using a Windows XP (32bit) base computer.
Should I load a 64bit driver on the 32bit XP computer for the benefit of the Windows 7 computer or will that mess up the XP computer?

Hello, the HP laser jet 4000n you install the drivers via windows update procedure. The HP 722C is not supported under Windows 7 due to it's age.

LaserJet 2550n network printer on XP host PC, can't install Windows 7 client laptop

Have Color LaserJet 2550n network printer connected to XP host PC. I can't install Windows 7 client laptop for printer. The wireless network is fine, I can access documents back and forth, merely the printer doesn't work and there's no way to download 64bit drivers for this printer from HP.

Resolved, not solved.
I talked to HP product support. The Officejet Pro 8500 A910 will not install on Windows XP (at least the Home Edition) when networked through a router. It will install through USB. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with only USB connected to clean out all the network printer/scanner information. Product support claimed it would install through an ether net cable connected between the printer and computer but this does little good if you need internet access.

Connecting HP990Cse via print sever in Windows 7 64bit

I want to install the drivers for an HP990Cse printer which is connected through a printer server built into my WD Netcenter network drive. Windows 7 (64bit) can find the printer but not the driver. Also, this printer is not found in the list provided in Windows. It asks for the location of the driver files (browse button), however, I am unable to download any driver files from the HP website. All they have is a wizard to allow hookup via USB or instruct the user to simply hook the printer to Windows and let it provide the driver. I am not hooking up via USB, so I not sure what to do.
When installing a Brother printer, I had no issue since I could download the driver files, put them in a folder and then point Windows to that folder. Where can I get the driver files for this printer or what procedure should I use to install this printer?

I will answer this question myself for the benefit of anyone who may find themselves in this position. Following some advice I found on the Internet. I did the following:
I installed the printer as a local printer on the USB port allowing Windows to provide the driver. It worked find plugged into a USB port.
I then moved the printer back to the print server in the NetCenter.
I then went into the printer driver on the ports tab and added a new port with the network path for the printer. For example \\printer_server_name\printers\DESKJET-990C.
This did not work, however. So I went to the Network and Sharing Center and chose the option to View Computers and Devices which showed the print server. I double clicked on the print server which then displayed the connected printer. I double clicked on the printer to connect to it. I got a message saying that the driver could not be found. I clicked OK to install the driver. When the driver list appeared, I selected HP in the left column and guess what? The 990C printer driver and a bunch more HP printer drivers were listed. I selected the 990C and everything worked fine.
I not sure if installing the printer locally caused Windows to populate the list with more HP drivers, but it seems as if it did because those drivers were not in the list before.
