Im not quite sure where to put this but hopefully someone can help. Last night I was on my Hp notebook 2000 laptop pc and it was working perfectly fine but today I hadent gone on it all day and wanted to go on it. So everything loads up correctly and than i type in my password and go onto Youtube. So im watching a video and notice the volume is at 0 so i press the key to up it. I didmt notice anything till the video stopped playing. I was on Airplane mode for some reason. So i try to un press it and then up the volume same thing. So I thought maybe something glitched and i should shut off my laptop and try again. Everythibg loads up fine but i get to the password and i press the letter "T" I get see 5 black dots instead of 1. I try to back space it just adds another dot. So I use the on screen keyboard and use it to log in. I click on my browser Firefox I go to type in a letter I get basically a jumble of letters and this is happening to all of them. I try to backspace it gives me "/". So im confused as what to do to fix it. I didnt mess with it or damage it, it was working fine yesterday. Can someone please help me and try to give me details of this problem and how to fix it.

  • HP Notebook 2000 cooling fan issue

Hey, everyone. I've had my HP Notebook 2000 for a few years and I've discovered my first major issue just a few days ago when the cooling fan stopped working. I don't really mind it too much because I have a USB-powered cooling fan that my laptop rests on, and it does a pretty good job. My entire laptop remains at about the same average tempurature.
The biggest issue I'm having is every few hours, the laptop will automatically shut off because of it.
As well, when I boot it up (turn it on), it gives me a reminder that the cooling fan isn't working and I will have to press "enter" or the laptop shuts off in 15 seconds.
How can I make it so the laptop ignores the broken cooling fan? I don't want to spend the money to repair it because I can rely on the USB-powered cooling device.
    Thank you!
    ~Mark

No you can't. Reason it probably shuts down is because cpu temps peak over safety threshhold at times thus it shuts down to prevent damage.
Cooling systems on hp's are not the best when working so thermal stress on cpu,gpu & mainboard will be bad & failure failure will occur quite quickly.
Fan assembly is very cheap & can be done DIY if you have some skill in dismantling these sort of things & following hp service manual & other online guides.
I expect a new fan & new thermal paste & shimming along with cleaning would do wonders for running temps & long term health of the notebook.

  • How to install physical media on Hp notebook 2000&Hp deskjet 1000

I installed Windows 8.1 on my notebook. I had notice on my Hp icon that action was needed. It said...."install physical media"       How do I accomplish this? Is there something I have to buy? ex.   USB/DVD?  PLease HELP ME!!!! I am out of warranty and cannot afford it at this time.

, Hello and thanks for posting back.  Your issue is that you are not going to find drivers that will work with windows 8 or 8.1. Your system was only released with support for windows 7.  You may find drivers somewhere on the internet that may work.  This will involve some searching and they will not be supported.  The only thing I would do is reload your original operating system and use the supported drivers found on the HP support page for your notebook. HP Support - Software and Driver Downloads Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 2000-2b19wm

A few months back my year old computer stopped booting up out of nowhere. It powers on, shows the HP symbol, says please wait, then when those go away and it seems like it's gonna go to the log in screen but doesn't and just stays at a black screen. The backlight is still on though, because i can move the mouse around. What can I do or what is at least wrong with my computer?

    Hi,
    Shutdown the notebook.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu.  Select the Diagnostic Menu option ( f2 ) and run the tests on the Hard Drive and Memory.
Post back with the results including any error codes that may be generated.

  • My hp notebook 2000 takes forever to load and turn on, moves slow and sometimes cut off

My pc takes forever to load, runs super slow and cuts off occasionally. I constantly have to recover it and that still don't seem to change a thing... is there anything else i can do to make my pc run the way it used too. I just bought it from Wal-Mart brand new last year August. I don't have music or movies or anything downloaded to it so I don't understand what's going on with it. Please help.

Enter BIOS setup by tapping/holding the F10 key immediately after powering on the laptop.Use Diagnostics to test your hard drive & memory.
If you don't have these options in BIOS you should have System Diagnostics accessed immediately after powering on the laptop by tapping the F2 key.

After another 2 weeks, it refused to work at all.

                           ;  a system restore
; deleting the realtek audio driver and re installing
I am ready to throw it out the window

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update, select 'View update history' in the left hand pane and then select 'Installed updates' link in the following window.
Locate update KB2962407, right click it and select Uninstall.  When done, restart the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Windows Update and select 'Check for updates'.  You'll see the update you just uninstalled being offered again - right click and select 'Hide Update'.
After this you may or may not need to delete and reload the Audio driver - if you do, the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.
