Hp notebook G62-b25SA Webcam problem.

G62-b25SA
XR524EA#ABU
Windows 7, 64 bit.
I have never been able to use my built-in webcam.  I have installed the latest Youcam drivers and still an error message - "No webcam detected, if you are using an integrated camera make sure that it is turned on".
I have also followed instructions on this website - I have gone to Device manager and "scan for hardware changes" but I never get an icon for "imaging" hardware.
I know the computer has the hardware as my parents have an IDENTICAL computer - bought from the same shop at the same time!
Please help!

Hi
You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps might help you to fix the issue.
Fixing Webcam Problems in Windows
Testing a Webcam With MediaSmart in Windows
If both these links does not work then you might have to call HP Techincal support and get the part replaced.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Sata drivers for G62-B25SA.

    Hello all,
Im trying to recover my windows 7 partition after installing ubuntu and upsetting the master boot record (blue screen of death on booting windows 7).
When running the recovery disk it asks me for a hard drive driver.
None of the ones I have found from other users with simler problems or off my hard drive have worked.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the correct driver?
My laptop is a HP G62-B25SA.
    Windows 7 64bit.
    Cheers,
    Sam.

    Hi, Sam:
I have attached the x64 drivers you need.
Extract to a USB flash drive and select the Intel(R) Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller from the list.
I have never heard of a W7 disk needing the AHCI drivers before. Hopefully that is really what the problem is.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr Entertainment Notebook PC -- No webcam detected

    My name is Sarah.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr Entertainment Notebook PC
    Model: A6Y00UA
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I first realized I had a webcam problem today when I tried video chatting on Skype. I do have a built-in webcam, as there is a lens above my screen with the words "HP TrueVision HD" beside it.
I opened CyberLink YouCam (it came standard with my laptop) and received this message:
From here, I found the Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) help page via Google. I followed "Reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer in Windows 7," but got no results. I followed "Can't find the webcam or webcam software," but got no results. I then followed "Video does not appear in your webcam software (such as YouCam, Skype, Messenger, etc.)," but got no results.
Next, I found the Testing a Webcam Using YouCam help page via search on the HP website. I followed the instructions until step 2 "Verify the webcam hardware is recognized in Device Manager" when I had to stop here:
I returned to the Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7) help page and followed the instructions for "Webcam is not listed in Device Manager (Windows 7)," but again got no results.
I did not use Microsoft System Restore because 1) I don't know exactly when my webcam went from working to not working, and 2) I am unsure what a system restore will do in terms of me losing any data or programs.
If anyone has any advice or knows exactly what I need to do, I appreciate the feedback.

I would guess one of two things-either the webcam has failed or the cable that runs from the webcam is unplugged from the motherboard.

  • G62-b25SA - broken headphone socket, replacement?

I have a  G62-b25SA laptop out of warranty.
The headphone socket has broken - part of the socket is missing, meaning that I cannot connect a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
To be clear, this is NOT the problem often reported of something snapping off INSIDE the socket, meaning that the laptop things headphones are connected.
This is the opposite issue, part of the socket itself is missing, meaning it does not hold the headphone jack securely.
Is it possible to replace the socket? How do I go about obtaining a replacement part and fitting it?
Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi nikhalton,
Take a look in your Maintenance and Service Guide.  If it can be replaced, you will find out how within those pages.
Please let me know if this helps.
    Good luck!

  • Webcam problems dv7 HP laptop windows 7

hello i have one thing that is showing when i want to use my web cam, cyberlink cannot connect to your webcam HP truevision laptop dv7 what should i do to fix this problem? its showing when i want to use skype or webcam

    Hi Meg,
Looks like you keep posting this question... I know it is frustrating when you cannot get a fix for something important.
Here's the thing:  if the webcam "software" fixes do not solve the problem, then the webcam is not going to respond to software fixes... it might be the little wires that are loose, crushed, disconnected, broken... whatever.  Tiny webcam wires sometimes do not even make it out of the factory in one piece.  Other times the wires and webcam are so tough that the webcam works for years and years.
I suspect the YouTube fix is a loose wire fix -- you need to take apart your notebook to do it.  You don't want to do that to a new notebook - it will void your warranty.  You do want to do that to an older "no warranty" notebook - it usually fixes the problem.
If this is a new notebook, then just call HP - make a service report, and get the notebook fixed.  It is painful and it takes a couple of weeks; the repair is covered (cost wise) and once it is completed and you have your notebook back, the webcam will work.  Done.
Contact HP – USA and Worldwide
I have lots of HP notebooks -- ONE of which came with a dead webcam.  I had to send it back and have it fixed.  Now, it works.  All the others have worked for years... and years.  It does happen both ways.
Here is the "Official Everything Webcam" document:

  • Dv6-1030us Webcam Problem

I have a dv6-1030us computer and it seems since I installed Vista Service Pack 2 the built in webcam works intermittently.  (I noticed the problem too long after I installed SP2, so I have no easy route back to SP1) Most of the time it simply doesn't work; when you open the HP MediaSmart webcam program, your hear the sound of a usb device unplugging and get an alert that the "Connection to the video device was lost".  If you check device manager the webcam still shows up as there and I don't see anything else missing.
Occasionally  - and I have not been able to reproduce a chain of actions that are repeatable to help solve the problem - the camera does work.  Probably less than 5% of the time.  I have called customer service and they said other people are reporting a similar problem, but I have yet to see anyone post.  I am wondering if I simply have a hardware failure with the camera.  I have updated all drivers and have the latest bios version f.24.  Any suggestions?

I've had this laptop for two years without a webcam problem. Upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. My webcam stopped working. If I go into HP MediaSmart Webcam it shows an image for a few seconds and then it loses its connection. I can't get it to work in the latest version of Skype anymore. It's not even an option to choose from. The only option is a Cyberlink webcam filter that I've never noticed as an option before.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately I have bad news for you.
The BIOS diagnostic  test confirms that your hard disk has failed.
Is your G62 notebook still within its warranty period?
    If it is...Contact HP
