HP NX9110 with loose A/C power socket causing power to suddenly stop?

Hi
Yeah, I have two HP laptops and neither of them are fully functional. It does make me wonder about Apple products.
I'm hoping the problem is simply a matter of disassembling the computer and resoldering the socket, however from the manual Huffer kindly gave me I worked out that there is a set procedure to disassembling a HP laptop.
Has anyone had experience with this sort of the thing or a service manual for a NX9110?
Thanks again for all your assistance.

  • Power adaptor suddenly stops working

my power adaptor has a strong tendency to stop working for no reason - one minute the light on the connector is green or orange and my computer is happily running/charging, then suddenly (usually without my noticing it) the light goes off, the computer starts running on battery, then goes to sleep. it's simple enough to fix - i just unplug the adaptor then plug it back in and it starts working again. however, it's pretty frikkin annoying.
it's bad enough when i'm actually at my computer, cause i at least get a 10 second warning that my battery is low and the computer is about to go into sleep mode, so i can jump up, run over to the wall socket, unplug and replug my adaptor, and with luck the computer hasn't gone to sleep yet. however often i'll leave my laptop running for a long download, only to come back later and find it asleep, with a 2 hour download cut off 1 1/2 hours in. arrrgh!
the thing is, i've owned 5 different apple laptops, and probably 6 or 7 standard issue apple adaptors, over the many years, and i had this probelm with the last 5 or 6 of them. is this a feature? what can i do to stop this? i love apples but i must say i've never had this problem with any of the pc's at work. also i'm surprised to have the problem replicated with so many adaptors, yet not see any other threads on the subject. is it me? am i doing something wrong?

Over time, the settings in the Power Manager
may become unusable, which can result in operational

it's a new ibook (2 months old) so i wouldn't think this is the case - but as it sounds plausible i've tried it anyway. i'm going to leave the laptop on for a day or 2 and see if this solved the problem.
by the way, i do tend to leave my laptop on for days at a time if that makes any difference here...

  • Macbook Pro 2011 DVI HDMI out does not work with TV when the power cable is connected

My Macbook Pro (Early 2011) DVI HDMI out does not work with TV when the power cable is connected. If get the blue screen and then can use the macbook but nothing is displayed on the TV. If i go into display I can see that there are two screens but nothing displayed on the TV. If i take the power cable out at this point the TV shows the second desktop as expected. If i then reconnect the cable, the screen flickers, as though it is being affected by the power cable, and the screen goes blank on the TV. Only if i remove the DVI cable do i get the blue screen again. If i remove the power cable and reconnect it will do it every single time, so i cannot see it being a TV issue or a minor glitch.
I have had this working previously but at the minute it seems to not be playing ball....any thoughts

Greetings from a Photoshop Newbie. I need a computer, preferably a Mac laptop, with some serious processing power. I take photos with a Pentax 645Z; files are 50MB raw. I upload from Adobe Bridge and manipulate the photo, sometimes turning them into files in excess of 250MB. I cannot resize as the large files are needed for enlargements. Have all sorts of problems trying to manipulate, add effects and saving most large files. I need some serious processing power. Can anyone suggest what Mac i should purchase? I thank you in advance for your help :-)

It sounds as if you're having some system-related problems now, unrelated to processing power as such. In particular, a buggy video driver can cause everything to slow to a crawl.
Medium format files are big, true, but not so big as to cause significant slowdowns on a normally functioning and reasonably current computer. A laptop will always be slower than a well-equipped desktop system, though. Mac vs PC plays no part in this, performance is unrelated to platform.
Bottlenecks are different in ACR and Photoshop, so that should give you a clue. ACR is computing-intensive and mostly limited by CPU speed. Photoshop, however, is mostly bandwidth-intensive and mainly limited by memory and disk throughput. It's also sensitive to GPU issues.

How can I connect the iTunes in my iPad (now with iOS7) to my Power PC Mac?

Nope, the top OS version for the IBM processor is 10.5.8, and under that version I can not update the iTunes further than the 10.6.3 :-(
But that means the brand leaves a large chunch os costumers with still perfectly operating computers out of the loop on purpose, so to force us to upgrade computer?
Not fair at all, both are legitimate Apple products, they should sync no matter what! The sad thing is theu used to, before I migrated to iOS7 on the iPad, move that I now regret...

Apply Store did full hardware diagnostic and all is fine. Did clean wipe from Mavrick back to Mountain Lion but problem remains. Apple Store can do no more.

I did some more digging, it appears to be a backlight problem only. I can see the screen very dimly if I use a bright flashlight in a very dark room. It also seems to run ok if the brightness is turned down a LOT.
So I'm thinking this is a LED driver board issue or the display itself. I'll open it up and check the connection between the two and see if I can get any more clues. At least I can use it somewhat now by dimming the display significantly...

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

    Where is the problem?
I have also made the maneuver for the recognition by the operating system of the battery and does not seem to be there the problem.
If I use the laptop without battery in AC mode happens that led to the side of the notebook blinks twice, three times and then goes off when I put the power jack.

Go into the Device Manager. Expand the battery device, select the ACPI-Compliant Battery Control Method device, right-click it and select uninstall. After you have done that, right-click any device in the Device Manager and select scan for hardware changes. Your operating system will reinstall the  ACPI-Compliant Battery Control Method device.

  • Re: Connection Failure: ReadFile on fd=1231 failed with err=64  + JVM_recv in socket input stream read

    Jon,
I believe that this error is similar to a "connection reset by peer". It is
a Window specific error. I believe it indicates that something has happened
on the other end of the socket such that the socket has gone bad.
I think that this should only occur when people reset their connection
before the reply is sent. I don't believe that it is indicative of any
serious problem other than this communication failure caused by the client.
I've opened an issue to catch and squelch these spurious exceptions rather
than logging them. For now I think it is safe to ignore them.

    Hi Guys,
Using weblogic 5.1 (downloaded pretty soon after announcement) on windows
2000 (yes I know not certified there yet) and using jdk1.2.2-001.
    I have a pretty standard setup - a connection pool (5) to a sqlserver
    (remote) machine.
A pretty standard multithreaded servlet - grabs a connection, does aselect,
calls dbkona to dump output, releases connection.
It runs fine - browser returns result. When I push 'reload' on browser, say
10 times very quickly, I get the following errors. It is sometimes a

    Hi,
I have noticed that applying the service pack helps things quite a bit.
I no longer get NT muxer errors etc etc. just the "connection reset by
    peer"
    every now and again.
As I am repeatedly hitting the server from one browser, your 'connection
    going bad' scenario probably
    applies quite well.
(btw. before the SP, the errors seemed to crop up more just before/during
    a
    GC.)

PE 9.0 no sound with DV AVI type 2 clip, but sound is ok with Media Player and Power DVD

    Thanks for helping me.

I have imported a WMA-file in Audio-1 track of PE – still no sound to hear. But I can see the sound in the track. (Like in my video-clip) Therefore I also think it is a setting in PE. Will you be so kind to tell me where I have to look? Because I am no expert. Or is it possible that I have to activate anything in PE? It is first time that I will work with PE 9.
Further information: The original sound of the Mini-DVD is 5:1 surround. After first problem I have changed Nero to export in Stereo, but this did not solve the problem.
    Thanks and regards
    Werner
