HP Office Jet 5600 cannot install the tool box from the CD.

Hi all.
I have the combined printer,scan,copy fax device (HP 5600). My Imac installs the printer but will not read the CD.
I miss a toolbox for the rest of the functions.
Please advice.

Download, mount, and install with an administrator privileged account.
You can double-check whether you had success or not, by going to "Apple Menu/System Preferences" and selecting "Print & Fax." HP Officejet 5600 series should appear in the pane of available printers. If it does not, you can try 'adding a printer' and selecting your printer from the appearing list (provided it is turned on and connected to the computer).
As pointed out, this is an unofficial and non-supported workaround I discovered yesterday. It worked for me and I need printing capability until HP/Apple get the official driver ready. I was in such a hurry, like many of you, to upgrade to SL (Snow Leopard) that I had forgotten to wait for the bugs to be worked out first.

Hello.
Go into View > Toolbars and select the toolbars you want to be displayed. If you don't see the menu bar, simply tap ALT in your keyboard. Rightclicking anywhere in the toolbar will also present you with the menu (don't rightclick stuff that can be rightclicked for other functions, like the back menu or the tabs).

When using the Photographic blur gallery I do not get get the Tools box on the side as I've seen in your tutorials.

Why don't I get the Tools panel when I am using one of the blur tools in Filter Gallery? the Adobe tutorial shows the panel on the side, but I just don't get it.

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
Which version of Photoshop do you use and which version is used in the tutorial you are referring to?
Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?

How to remove the little boxes from the form

Total newbie to .pdf files so hoping this is something easy to fix.
We have a new process wherein we are tasked to edit a prepared form in Adobe Acrobat 8.x on Windows XP platforms.
We open the document, put in required info, modify some fields if needed that already have info in them, and then save to a new document name and distribute.
When we open the inital .pdf for editing, there are large boxes (with numbers in them) in every area where we need to fill in info on the form.
How in the world do you turn those annoying things off?
You can't even read the pre-filled info on the form as these obtrusive little boxes are displayed over top of what is typed in the form already.

Oh I'm hoping not.
If so the programmer of that little anomaly should be spanked.
That's a horrible "feature".
I don't need to see those labels every time I need to fill in fields on a form.
For example that I show, fields, 28, 29, 30, obliterate what is below them so the users are always putting in a mistyped value as they can't see that something is there in the field already...
Hopefully that isn't what this is.

Why, when selecting the options box in the tools tab, does the whole page become unusable???? I cannot set my homepage at all.... very annoying..

On Saturday I upgraded to version 10 beta, after installing the version, the options box in the Tools tab will not function. When selected the screen is "blocked out" and the only way forward is to Ctrl+Alt+Del to reset the browser.
I have tried several times to re install but the settings are dragged into the new version. If this keeps on happening I will revert to the original browser.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

The Canon 5D Mk 111 was supported from LR 4.1, see the link below. Just update LR to the latest version. See link below

This error means that your hard drive is badly corrupt and cannot be repaired by Disk Utility. Since you say you don't have backups, this is very bad news. You may already have lost data irrevocably.
First order of business needs to be backing up whatever you can, but this may be difficult to do if the machine won't start up any more. See step 1 of the following post:

I cannot access the PRIVACY menu from the Tools-Options menu to make changes to cookies and history. I can access every other menu on that page (General, Tabs, Content, Applications, Security, and Advanced. But Not PRIVACY. Please help.

This can be caused by in incompatible/malfunctioning add-on. To test if this is the case follow the procedure in the [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article.

This happened to me as well, the mail toolbar disappeared. I had an Exchange mail account that seemed to cause the problem. I went into the General settings under the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars; turned all the setttings under the Exchange account from 'ON' to 'OFF', which fixed it. Then I went back in and re-activated the Exchange account. It fixed the issue for me. Good luck!

What a pain in the *** this whole process is too. I might as well just delete the freakin' program from the computer and rack it up to nonsense on the Apple end of things. To **** with you. start at the top and work your way down applying applicable fixes until your problem is resolved.

"Installer failed to initialize. File not found." or "Installer failed to initialize. This could be due to missing files."
first, rename OOBE Folder to OOBE.old.
to find OOBE:
64 bit win OS: Program Files x86\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
32 bit win OS: Program Files \Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
mac os: HD>library>application support>adobe>caps
mac os: USER>library>application support>adobe>OOB
if that fails or isn't the exact error you see, uninstall, clean (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and reinstall.
if you're using a dvd to install:
copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.
if you're using a mac:
1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

This forum is for Apple's defunct office suite 'AppleWorks' - since the word count is not in the places you mention I assume you are talking about Microsoft Word? Though it's just possible someone in this forum might also use Word and know the answer, you would stand a higher chance of getting an answer in Microsoft's own forums. You could also try asking in the forum applicable to your operating system - Lion, Mavericks or whatever - on the reasonably chance of finding someone familiar with Word.
