HP Office Jet 6000 E609n Printer, Cannot reset network settings.

Hello,
I was setting up a static IP address for the HP Office Jet 6000, upon attempting to set it up. I forgot to set the default gateway to match the IP address. Now that it is set that way I cannot access the GUI for the printer. I have tried doing the reset by holding down the wireless button and pressing resume three times. I have literally unplugged it from the back and from the wall and that did not resolve the issue. Also, unplugged it and waited 30 more seconds plugged it back in and did the button reset a swell. Noone of these resolved anything I am stuck and cannot even access the controls to change the router. Help will be very much appreciated.

You may try and do the network defaults and the factory defaults on the printer and that should reset the ip address for you. I'll try and see if i can get the combination for you for this printer. Let me know if this works or if you are still not able to get into your settings.
If I helped you at all it would be great if you clicked the blue kudos star!

  • HP Office Jet 6000 wont print

Hi, hopefully some one can help. I have an HP office Jet 6000  which is hardwired by cable to my laptop. A problem has occured where the printer wont print any documents. Laptop is running Windows 7 32 Bit
    I have tried the following;
    1: Replaced the cable
2: Purged all documents in the printer memory
3: Printed a test page and status report successfully from the printer .
4: All ink cartridges are full
5: Switched printer off for 10 seconds and switched on again
6: Tried to restart the print spooler, but this is greyed out

Part of the problem may be that there is no HP Apple driver for this machine. If you are running Windows in a window with VirtualBox or Fusion or Parallels, then you should be able to print directly from the PC. Obviously the same exists if you use Bootstrap to boot windows. But nothing will happen since there is no apple driver for this printer, and HP has none except for Windows and Linux.
I had the same problem with my venerable HP 5550. HP scuttled the driver for it in Snow Leopard. I used Gutenprint. You might check to see if there is a Gutenprint document for this printer. Actually the Gutenprint is a better driver than the one HP made for Leopard 10.5

  • Hp office jet 6000 connection problems sharing over network. spooler service error.

    HP Office Jet 6000 wireless
    Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
error message: Windows cannont connect to the local print spooler, service is not running.
Attempting to share the printer among computers on our network. Printer is connected to its home computer via USB.
All 3 computers are running the same OS.
We are using a wired network.
The printer shows up as available to share, but when attempting to add the printer to another computer on the network the spooler service error pops up. The computer that I have tried to add the printer to now will not print at all to any other printers on our network or to a printer connected directly to it via USB, and I cannot remove the new shared printer.
The printer prints without any issues on the PC it is connected directly to via USB.
    Thank you for any suggestions.

    Further information,
I checked the spooler service on the computer that the printer is connected to via usb and it is set to automatic and is running.

  • Office jet 6000 wireless printer ink usage and no support

I would like to know if anyone else has this problem with their printer.
I print in 98% of my work in black ink.  My settings are on fast draft, black ink only, yet my colored ink is running out, fast.  How could this be?   I have the XL cartridges (700 pages, so the box says) and they look to be the exact same size as the regular (300 pages).   I just replaced the 3 colored ink cartridges a couple of months ago, printed no more than 20 pages with a little color (mainly blue and gray), then all of a sudden, my printer say's I'm out of all the colored ink and it wont print at all.  I can take the cartridges, run some paper under the ink holes and get ink all over it.  And when i call hp, they tell me that it uses the colored ink even though I'm printing in black.  How?  They tell me to buy another cartridge and keep track of how much in color i print.  Hellooooo.. I've told them how much I'm printing in color.  They also tell me that i need to pay for tech help because my printer is no longer in warranty.  (18 months old).  I've called about this twice and they give me the same answer.  Printing in black still uses colored ink.
the last person i talked to, last night, said it may even be a problem with the mechanic part of the printer, which is covered.  Well, if its covered then why cant i get another answer besides "buy more ink".
does anyone else have this issue?  What do you do to solve it?
Consumer Reports listed this printer as one of the best, and the ink cartridges gave you the best bang for you buck.  Yeah, ok...
You would think that if they know they have this issue, they would do more to help their customers out.

    From http://www.hp.com/pageyield/articles/us/en/InkUseage.html
Some color ink may be used when printing black text-or-graphics. There are several circumstances when color ink may be used—primarily to improve print quality, and sometimes to improve printer reliability—even if the document appears to be only black text-and-graphics. Many HP printers utilize chemical interactions to improve the quality and permanence of plain paper black text-and-graphics by adding small amounts of color ink to certain black areas.
While I am an HP employee, I am not a expert on all our products. If I offer advice, I'm not speaking for HP on how to solve an issue, but I'll do my personal best to help you.

  • Dissatisfied with HP Office jet 6700 Premium Printer

I've had a HP Office Jet 6700 Premium Printer for 18 months and have encountered a failed printer head issue which essentially requires full replacement of the printer.  I've seen many other similar reports by others which clearly indicates this printer has a serious problem with the printer heads.  I'm getting ready to replace this printer, which is just 6 months out of warranty, and will seek another vendor to provide printing equipment.  Very disappointed in HP's printer product and will gladly provide input to help others avoid running into this problem.

Please read this post then provide some details.   What operating system?  What are the error messages on the printer or computer screen?

  • How do I get an Office Jet 6500A to print on Card stock?

How do I get an Office Jet 6500A to print on card stock. It pushes the card stock through the printer but will not print and tells me I have not selected the right print media. There is no selection for card stock.  I have tried every selection.  I assume there are other media definitions that can be downloaded but they certainly are not apparent.  I have been doing this job on all my other HP printers for years.  Suddenly this printer balks.

    Hi,
Page #22 of the manual says (must be the same as photo paper ?):
To load cards and photo paper
    1. Lift the output tray.
    2. Slide the paper width guide out as far as possible.
    3. Insert the media print-side down along the right of the main tray. Make sure the media aligns with the right and back edges of the tray and does not exceed the line marking in the tray. If the photo paper has a tab along one edge, make sure the tab is pointing towards the front of the printer.
    4. Slide the media guides in the tray to adjust them for the media size that you have loaded.
    5. Lower the output tray.
    6. Pull out the tray extender.
And the manual is : h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02519721.pdf
    Regards.

  • How to rollback driver for Office Jet 6500 APlus Printer

I recently updated the driver for my Office Jet 6500 APlus printer and do not find it to be useful or efficient for my purposes. The printer is connected wirelessly  to a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop PC running Windows 7 Home Premium. Can anyone tell me how to roll back the printer's driver to the one previously installed which is the one that came with the printer when it was purchased about 4 or 5 years ago.

    Hello oldhand,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some printing issues since you have updated the driver.
I have a few steps that I think will help us.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I am also going to give you detailed instructions for Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once the printers software and drivers have been removed, please click on the following link for the HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver.
Please fee free to write me back if you have any other questions.

  • After connecting to Bluetooth keyboard, iPad 2 will not connect to Internet (wifi) at all. Wifi is ok, have tried turning off bltooth, wifi on iPad. It sees the network but won't connect.  Help?  Have also reset network settings etc

My iPad wifi was working great until I I connected it by Bluetooth to a keyboard (zagg).  It was the first time I'd used Bluetooth
Immediately Internet was dropped on my ipad. My iPhone was and is still connected no prob. And I cannot get the iPad wifi to work again....at all!!!
This is major as I am away from my desktop for three months.  Any fix cannot involve being at my desktop with iTunes which is 10,000 km away
So far This is what I've tried based on other discussions-
-turned Bluetooth off and unpaired to keyboard which was also turned off
    - turned iPad wifi off and on (several times)
    - forgot the network I useArrive Jul 19 depart Aug 25th. Originally it was Sept 9.
    -- reset network settings
What happens is that the iPad sees the network and I enter my password. But, instead of getting "check mark" indicating a successful connections it keeps "circling".  Sometimes the airport bars will show, but disappear or flicker.  It never connects with a check noted in settings.   Any attempts to use internet confirm there is no connection
My network is not a cafe or public network. It is one I regularly use here at my family's home where I am visiting
    Any ideas!

  • Temporary fix for me - Reset Network Settings

Went to the genius bar with my 3G issue yesterday. Reception was impeccable at the store. Guy suggested I reset network settings when it acts up. That has worked for me today BUT I cannot imagine having to do that ALL OF THE TIME.
It annoys me that there is no real discussion about this issue from Apple or AT&T. I'll hang tight until the next software/firmware update but I'm going to harass AT&T for a credit. IT NEVER WORKS.
And don't tell me I'm a baby for complaining about it. The biggest advantage (and most publicized reason) for upgrading DOESN'T WORK.

Connecting to data (especially 3g) has been a problem for me since installing 2.02. I'm anxious awaiting 2.03 (or 2.1, whichever comes first
I had been shutting off the phone to trigger it to connect to the network. Then, I read a tip shared here about turning airplane mode on/off. That's worked pretty well for me as a temporary workaround.
Agree with you, though. It can get pretty frustrating.
