HP Office Jet 6500 Printer won't print black ink only since FF 3.6 upgrade

I cannot print in "Black Ink" on HP PRINTER Office Jet 6500 E709 THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN PRINTING WEB PAGES. All WEB pages Print in "Color" even when black (greyscale is only ink checked w/in HP Printer
* Web forum fix - At HP Print Section click "Premium Paper" setting .... However, this does not work
Have clicked on FF 3.6 version to download in the past 3X however system says I have FF3.5

Are you changing that setting to Black / Greyscale from within Firefox?
{Ctrl + P} then hit the Properties button next to the Printer Name.

  • Office jet Pro 8500 won't print thru wireless network.

    All of a sudden, my printer will not print anything from any of my devices. The print items just get backed up in the queue. The printer is connected to the router, all the test and configuration pages say it is fine and ready. I have windows 7.

    OMG! I can't believe the fix was something so simple.   I had installed a new router.  Windows for some reason created a virtual printer with a Web Services Drive and port (which wasn't working or I do not know how to set it up correctly), and removed my "hard" printer.  I simply went into Network, Add a Printer, it found the original hard printer, I added it, it removed the virtual WSD ports, and now everything is printing correctly again!

  • Black ink only setting on office jet 6700

    I have set my printing preferences to use black ink only however I have just been notified by my printer that my magenta cartridge 933 is out of ink and my printer refuses to let me print anything. Why if I have it set for black ink only would the color ink be decreasing and I am not able to print a black text only document when there is plenty of black ink left (only magenta is out of ink)

    I appreciate your frustration, I really do. However, this particular printer uses some color inks even when printing in black only. If you did run out of color and kept printing black only, you will cause problems with the printhead.

  • Make my HP OfficeJet 4620 print in black ink only, permanently.

    I want my printer to always print in black only, on draft quality. I have gone to Devices and Printers > Printing Preferences > Advanced and changed Print in greyscale to "Black Ink Only". I've also made the same change by going to the page I wish to print and going CTRL+P > Properties > Advanced and making the same changes.
    However, my printer automatically reverts to printing in full colour after only one document i.e. every time I print a new document the changes are undone and it reverts to full colour.
    It is far too time consuming to repeatedly change the settings every time I print something, I have to print around 70 separate documents every morning! How to I make this change permanent?
    I'm using Windows 8 if that helps.

    Welcome to the HP forums!
    I understand you tried changing the print settings to "Black Ink Only", but it's reverts back to color ink. As you stated, the print settings seem correct and it should be sticking permanently. How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB? I would recommend uninstalling the software.
    Please follow this HP document on Uninstalling From Programs and Features.
    Next, clean out your Temp folder on your computer:
    On the keyboard, hit the Windows key and "R" key together, then type %temp%. Hit enter.
    Press "Ctrl" and "A" together. This will highlight everything. Right click on your mouse and select delete
    Now, install the full feature software from the HP website here. Choose your correct operating system; Either 32 bit or 64 bit. If you need help installing the software, then please follow this HP document here. Choose your correct connection type.
    After the installation is complete, please let me know if the "Print in black ink" sticks this time!

    What is asking you for an admin name and password? What does the dialog say, exactly?
    What model iMac are you using, and which OS version?
    If it is earlier than Lion or Snow Leopard, try deleting the printer and adding it again as explained in this document

I ran all the diagnostic tests including cleaning the cartridges, cartridge alignment, shut off the printer unplugged it, restarted, shut down computer retarted. All the other colors work except for the black cartridge. I checked the vent on cartridge and it is they way it should be. How can I print with Black Ink? very upset!!!! Have got to get something printed ASAP

    Do i have to replace the collor ink also at the same time?

    Using Google Cloud Print with your HP Printer

    If you do not have a Windows or Mac computer, you can tell your printer to connect to your router from the front panel as follows:
    Connect to the wireless network
        Press the Setup button on the printer control panel.
        Press the Right Arrow button to select Network Settings, and then press the OK button.
        Press the Right Arrow button to select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press the OK button.
        Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the network setup.
    Here are several other ways to connect to your network if you need it:

    I recently updated the driver for my Office Jet 6500 APlus printer and do not find it to be useful or efficient for my purposes.     Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having some printing issues since you have updated the driver.
    I have a few steps that I think will help us.
    First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
    I am also going to give you detailed instructions for Uninstalling the Printer Software.
