HP Office Jet 6700-Wireless Printer-How to change the Printer IP Address to the new ISP's IP Address

Greetings All,
I have been using ATT DSL with my HP 6700 wireless printer. I have had no problems with wireless printing (save the replacement ad nauseum of the ink cartridges-another issue I posted some time ago).
Today I had Comcast cable installed.  (So far I am not impressed with the speed-Note to self-post on Comcast site re this).
I still have access to the ATT DSL. The HP 6700 stores the IP Address and SSID for the ATT. network.  As long as I am logged into the ATT Network,  the HP 6700 prints fine.
When I switch to the Comcast network,  it does not print. The IP Address that is stored in the printer is the ATT IP address.
I have tried the UPDATE IP Address option from the Start menu. It does not work.
How do I get the HP 6700 to print from the Comcast network?
Perhaps the printer cannot be accessed on two networks and must be removed from the ATT network before it can be used on the Comcast network?
If anyone has encountered this problem and solved it please respond.
Thanks,
Chris

Having similiar problem with HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g-m. Lost connection to printer when disconnecting ATT DSL and moving to Comcast cable internet service. Comcast technician attempted to assist without success. HP instructions ASSUME that the printer is connected directly to the computer. We have a laptop that connects via wireless from modem, works great. Have the printer connected via Ethernet to Comcast modem. Tried to find Comcast IP address (where is that>), but also could not get the function on the printer itself to allow any change to the existing IP address that I assume is from ATT. Just learned that to get help by phone from HP will cost and was directed to the forum. If you have since solved your issue, perhaps you have some pointers for me. I've also had the laptop cleaned recently and found the HP software disk and have proceeded through the installation process up to not getting a solution. Help please.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Chinadoll702
I read your post about the printing issues you've been experiencing on your Mac running 10.6 and your Officejet 6700. I have a few ideas in mind to get started and let me know the results and we will take it from there.
Update the Firmware on the printer: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Power reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Make a few copies afterwards and tell me if the copies pause, cancel, do not work, etc.
Try printing from Text Edit on your Mac as well, and get back to me with the results.
    Good luck

  • Office Jet 6700 Premium only prints the same crossword over and over

My wife likes to do the daily crossword. However now it only prints the same one repeatedly. How do I get the EPrint to roll over to the next day? I have tried cancelling and resetting the app to no avail. Any help is deeply appreciated. I even tried the HP paid service. They were no help.

  • Dissatisfied with HP Office jet 6700 Premium Printer

I've had a HP Office Jet 6700 Premium Printer for 18 months and have encountered a failed printer head issue which essentially requires full replacement of the printer.  I've seen many other similar reports by others which clearly indicates this printer has a serious problem with the printer heads.  I'm getting ready to replace this printer, which is just 6 months out of warranty, and will seek another vendor to provide printing equipment.  Very disappointed in HP's printer product and will gladly provide input to help others avoid running into this problem.

Please read this post then provide some details.   What operating system?  What are the error messages on the printer or computer screen?

  • My HP Office Jet 6700 Premium has suddenly stopped printing from my iPad

I have a new HP Office Jet 6700 Premium
It had been working just fine, wireless printing from my iPad.
iPad shows a window that recognizes the printer, but it does not print.
    There is no error message.

The steps below typically resolve the issue you’re experiencing:
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Completely power off the iOS devices (hold the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until a message appears asking you to "Slide to power off". Slide across that bar, and it should completely power off).
    3. Power the printer back on.
    4. Power the iOS devices back on.
    5. Try to print again.
Those steps usually resolve the issue. If they do not, try this additional steps:
    6. Power cycle your router (usually done by unplugging the router’s power cord, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in).
    7. Make sure that the iOS devices and the printer are all connected to the same network, then try to print.

Hi there, I can't scan from my HP Office Jet 6700 (Fax) to my MacBook Pro. I've tried all of the tips I've found online but when I try to 'Enable Scan to Computer' it says that there is a communication error. Anyone got any tips for me?

    Hi,
Both printer and computer seem to be on same network.

    Hello wlliam,
I see that you are looking for some instructions on how to change the page order.
I am attaching a screen shot that will show you where to go to make the changes.
When you get the document ready that you want to print, click on File and then go to print and this window will pop up.
Depending on the operating system on the Mac you are using, some minor differences may appear.
You can make the changes on the Page Order drop down arrow.
Please let me know how you make out and if you need any other assistance, please feel free to write me back at any time.

    Hi Kattoa,
    Welcome to the HP forums!
I'm sorry to hear your Officejet 6700  doesn't seem to be holding it's wireless connection but I'd be happy to help determine what the problem could be
I think it would be best if you followed this Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection document as it should be able to help determine why the printer has to be reconnected so frequently.
Let me know how that goes for you!!

  • How do I enable the e-cloud on my office jet 6700 and set up its email address

I have a new iPad that I'm trying to enable to print. (I never had any trouble syncing my old one.) I have followed the instructions but it's still not working. It seems perhaps it's because the printer is not set up for Cloud? Yet, There is an icon on my office jet 6700 that indicates it is cloud capable.

    Hi @Mes17333
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I gather that you are trying to print from your new iPad to your Officejet 6700 printer.
I am presuming that the printer is connected to your wireless network as you indicated that you were able to print with your older iPad.  To use Apple’s AirPrint feature you only need to have the printer connected to your wireless network and that the router supports Bonjour communication.
If you are using the HP ePrint Mobile app or the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app, then please click on either app’s name and it will bring up the appropriate FAQ document which will have the trouble shooting steps to get the iPad printing.
Please let me know how things turn out.

I would recommend resetting the printing system, then rebooting the mac to allow it to scan for the usb connection to the printer. It should then automatically add the printer back, and if any other updates are needed, it'll ask you to install htem

    Hi helenhunt,
I would like to help you with this.
I have located a document I believe will be helpful. Although the title is 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print, the solutions will help resolve the symptoms you are experiencing.
Solution 1 in this document suggests using the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This is a great place to start because
the Print and Scan Doctor diagnoses and helps resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity problems, including:
    Connectivity :
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test : Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues : Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings : Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print : Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests : Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require additional assistance, thanks.

  • HP office jet pro 8600 - wireless printing problem

I am having difficulty printing wirelessly from my iMac to my HP office jet pro 8600. Sometimes it will print, often after waiting hours. But quite often it does print and when I click on the printer icon there is a message that states: "Ready on Server. The printer is not responding. I have no problem or delay in printing from my iPad or iPhone. Tried turning the printer on and off.

when you set it up with your wireless router did you let the printer detect the connection. If so check the wireless channel the router is set to. I changed mine and wham, now it prints as soon as my finger hits the mouse button. Hope this helps.
