Hp office jet pro 8600 not copying or printing

My hp office pro 8600 will not copy it acts like it will, but just spits out blanks pages. Ink is full. It started when I tried to print from my laptop and printing was off the page. I unplugged a restarted and then the copy issue started. Can you please help me?

Improper shutdown message is no harm, So thats fine. For paper mismatch, Please turn off wifi on the printer, Remove paper from the input tray, remove any paper from the document feeder if any. Post that check within the printer for any jams. Specially at the rear access door(Duplexer) & Under ADF cover. Hard reset the printer (Unplugg the power cord from the back of the printer, Wait for 10 sec's), while the printer is powered down, Press & hold the power button on the printer for 5 sec's (regardless of the power cord unplugged). Plug in the power cord, Wait for the printer to power up. check if the message (Paper mismatch) is still on the screen. If the printer shows the home screen, Input 8.5*11 (US Letter) size paper. Make a copy of a blank sheet by using the glass bed (Scanner bed). Under copy setting please use the default settings. Make a copy. Please let me know if you need further assistance. **************Although I work for HP, these are my views only.

I recently had a new server installed, a Proliant with a Windows Server 2008R2 operating system. I now just discovered that my All in One Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus A 910 will not install on the Windows Server 2008 R2, ïncompatible operating system. Does anybody have a workaround or solution?

    Hello dawnp,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with installing the printer on to your Windows 7 computer.
I suggest that we start off by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  If the Doctor fails, please let me know where it failed as well as any error codes you may see.
Write me back when you have time and I will be happy to help.

I have put brand new ink cartrigdes into my printer and when I try to print it will print about 2 inches of good color and then fade out to white for about and inch of no color and then print about 2 inches of good color and fade to white again. So i have stripes of color on the sheet. Anyone have an idea of why it is doing this?

  • Office jet pro 8600 envelope bending when printing

I've tried printing envelopes and I have no problem printing, loading envelopes or making sure they are not crooked. However, the envelopes become bended after printing. I would like to know if there's anyway to have straight through printing so that the envelopes do not bend during printing.
I've attempted to remove the duplexer, but when printing it says the tray is out of paper.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @Vssv0425 ,
I read about how your envelopes are bending when fed through the printer and I'd like to offer my suggestion.

  • Office jet pro 8600 plus won't print right no matter what

I use an iPad, and a windows 7, and an iPod touch. The printer stopped working even when I am trying to get it to give me a print page without an OS. It just stopped working right after being the best printer I have ever seen for over a year.

    Welcome to the forums @Bk2
I saw your post about how your Officejet 8600 Plus stopped working, and I wanted to write to you with my suggestions to hopefully have it print out a test page or a copy afterwards.
Here are some things to try:
    Reset the printer
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Update the Firmware: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Now try a copy and test print!
If the printer still will not work, please call us directly to talk about your printer options!

  • How to Scan using your HP Office Jet Pro 8600

Well, I figured out my own answer because I couldn't find a "solved" topic in this regard. So then I decided to post my findings in order to help the next querier (is that a word = one who queries). FYI -  I am not a 'techie' and while I can find my way around a computer it sometimes takes a while.  Also, I have Windows 7 on this laptop if that makes a difference.
    1. Go to Control Panel and choose:
    2. Hardware and Sound, then
    3. Devices & Printers, then
    4. Fax-HP Office Jet Pro 8600 (Network) or whatever printer choice pertains to your situation, then
    5. HP Printer Assistant, then
    6. Scanner Actions, then
    7. Scan a document or photo, then
    8. Save as PDF
    9. Scan
    10. Save to folder you choose
I know this may seem simplistic to most of you but maybe someone like me is out there trying to find this out and this might help.

    Hi Acupuncture,
Thank you very much for posting your solution that you found yourself, on using the scan function on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600. I also apologize we were not fast enough to answer one of your inquiries on the HP Support Forums. I was able to check your user page but was unable to find your initial post on asking us How to Scan, did you delete the question? Either way I am glad you are now up and scanning from your OJ 8600.
For future reference I would like you to take a look here: How to Scan: Windows 7, here you will be given all options and shortcuts on scanning with or without the HP software as well as some cool features, like scanning from the front panel of your 8600 and adding multiple pages to a single file.

  • Hp Office Jet Pro 8600 A910, suddenly can't send fax. Reveiving faxes are ok.

We can't send any fax, but we can still receive a fax. This happened suddenly without any changes (on device or our telephone line) When sending a fax it dials and gives a busy tone. After that we get a error sheet pointing out Error 388, communication error. Following things we did:- Tried sending fax on our other phone line to rule out broken phone cable/connections.- Called to phone and from phone to fax which worked.- Printed out T90 testsheet. All tests passed.- Tried faxing with ECM off or in other words turned off the error connection mode.- Tried faxing with lower connection speed setting.- Checked other settings to see if there was anything wrong, but all okay.- Powered off, disconnected power cable for at least 15 seconds. Is the fax broken or anything else we can try?

Hi , I see you have been troubleshooting an issue with your Officejet Pro 8600 no longer able to send faxes, and I think I may have found some more information for you. Can you specify your your exact printer model for me? In your post title you say it is an 'Office Jet Pro 8600 A910' but and A910 is an Officejet 8500A. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Seems like an odd question, but the printer make a copy? It could be an issue with the scanner mechanism.
Is the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or a power bar? We want to connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. See this document for more information about Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector (Note: This document is not limited to Laserjet printers.)
HP regularly releases firmware updates that may also correct the problem you are experiencing. You can click on this link to;Get Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), Officejet 6600 (H711) and Officejet 6700 Premium (H711) e-All-in-One Printer SeriesGet Printer Updates for HP Officejet 6500A, and Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer Series Have you tried to run the Fax Test Report? It's usually located in the setup menu, under tools. The fax test report will let you know if it finds any problems and how to correct them. Once everything passes on the fax test report, you can Test Your HP Fax Machine with the HP Fax Test Service.  I reviewed the error code you provided from the Interpreting Error Codes in Fax Communication Error or Fax History Reports document.  Error 388: There is too much noise on the line for a valid connection between two fax machines to complete. The noise problem might go away over time. Retry the fax reception when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve. Have you touched base with the phone company to make sure they have not changed anything on their end? Does this same error occur with every number you try to dial?  You could see if anything in Fax Sending Fails Intermittently or Fails for Only One Recipient is helpful as well.  Please let me know if these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!   Thanks,

  • Can't scan from Office Jet Pro 8600

I can't scan from my Office Jet Pro 8600.  I'm connected to my home Verizon Fios wireless network.  I'm running Windows XP.  The printer works fine, but I can't scan.  When I use the display on the printer I get a "No Computer Found" message.  When I go to find the scanner on the Control Panel/Scanners & Cameras - I can see the printer listed, but when I click on the printer, I get a message that reads: "The scanning software could not be found, or your scanner is not connected.  Please make sure your scanner & your scanner software are properly installed."    So then I use the HP Print & Scan Doctor to download to "Get Installer" presumably to download the software.  After the software downloads, there is no difference.  I still can scan, & the network is not seeing the scanner.  What gives?

    Hello,
I see that an issue has popped up that pertains to NOT being able to scan.

  • Wireless printing issue. Lonovo Think Pad v. Office jet pro 8600

I went through all 7 of the trouble shooting steps but still can't get my wireless printing to work with my Lonovo laptop T430 and my HP office jet Pro 8600 ..last resort was to join the forum so here I am. all connections appear to be on line and as they should be until I try to print a document.  The print window tells me printer is offline but the printer network test tells me it passed all tests and is connected and ready.  Using windows 7 operating system.

llbbsis, if everything passes my initial concern is that you might not be connected to the same network on your printer as your computer is connected to. So the first thing i would check is being sure that the SSID on both is the same and not something like "NetworkName" and "NetworkName -Guest."
Next, have you used the Print and Scan Doctor from HP? It is a good tool to diagnose and treat some of the smaller issues with printing:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03286146
Check those two things first and get back with me, if you need further help I am more than willing to do whatever I can to get the issue at hand taken care of.
    Have a great day!

  • I only want my HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Plus to print in black and white

I have an HP Office Jet Pro 8600 plus and I only need it to print out word documents and do not need color. For some reason the printer requires me to refill my yellow ink in order for me to print a document in greyscale. How can I change the settings so this doesn't occur?

  • How do i connect a surface 2 to an office jet pro 8600

I am trying to connect a surface 2 windows RT 8.1 tablet to an HP office jet pro 8600.  I have down loaded the driver from the HP web site but I get an error message that states it can not be run on this computer, and I should go to the app store. I can't find any special appnfor this.

Hi 1643, welcome to the HP Forums. Windows RT does not need drivers installed like other versions of Window. It should be just a matter of connecting it with a USB cable, or following the wireless/wired instructions contained in this document:
Install the Printer Software in Windows RT or Windows 8 on a Tablet.
Let me know how it goes

  • HP office jet pro 8600 - wireless printing problem

I am having difficulty printing wirelessly from my iMac to my HP office jet pro 8600. Sometimes it will print, often after waiting hours. But quite often it does print and when I click on the printer icon there is a message that states: "Ready on Server. The printer is not responding. I have no problem or delay in printing from my iPad or iPhone. Tried turning the printer on and off.

when you set it up with your wireless router did you let the printer detect the connection. If so check the wireless channel the router is set to. I changed mine and wham, now it prints as soon as my finger hits the mouse button. Hope this helps.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600 all in one

I fax documents from word with my printer. Every once in a while, but more frequently as of late, the document will fax, shows send in the log, I hear the the fax completely send and hang up, but then it will fax it over and over, even though I only set it to fax one time. Only way then to stop it from sending is to turn off printer and then I either have to reboot my computer or log off to get it to clear. When computer comes back up, I turn printer back on and it is ready for use. It has done this since I bought it, but like I said seems more frequent.
It is an HP office jet pro 8600 all in one, running on Windows 8.1. It is hard wired, not running wirelesslym with desktop. Anybody have any clues as to what is causing this and how to fix it.  It is so frustrating.  Thanks.

    Hi LFoskey,
Does the printer send multiple faxes when you fax directly from the printer, or only when you fax from Word?
    You can check for a firmware update in cause the issue is being caused by the printer itself;
HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a Firmware
HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware (Plus and Premium models)
    Please also try the HP Print and Scan Doctor, it can quickly resolve any issues including but not limited to;
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> www.hp.com/go/tools
Please post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks ( ), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches ( ), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points ( ), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X ( ), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.

  • Blinking lights office jet pro 8600

HP has been very cooperative in clearing my problem.  I am on my 3rd office jet pro 8600 plus, N911g.  After a short period the blinking lights appear "turn printer off, then on" no other message.  It's OK for a brief period and then the lights reappear.  I have done everything HP support says....I have also moved the printer from room to room thinking that might help....still the same problem.  Any suggestions, or must I just accept the lights.  I am using Windows 7.  Also an HP Laptop.  Love HP and the printer.

    Welcome to the forums Migee,
I saw your post about your Officejet 8600 showing blinking lights and the message to turn the printer off. I would like to share my suggestion that might help!

Plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

  • Office Jet Pro 8600 hp cannot connect wirelessly to WPA2 Enterprise encrypted network

HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Premium all in one Printer Scanner CAN NOT connect to encrypted wireless network? Specifics: Wireless network uses WPA 2 Enterprise encryption without passphrase. ( mac filtering only ) Mac address of device is already entered into the wireless router list of devices allowed to connect. Wireless wizard reports ....unable to connect due to authentication failure. alternative instalation attempts ask for passphrase which the wireless network does not use at all. Has been a big issue preventing deployment of mobile wireless scanning and printing throughout the facility. WPA2 is clearly listed as supported wireless protocol. Please help. Several weeks of struggle with India did not resolve the issue. Thank You.

If your router supports dual band broadcasting 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz, log into your router and look at the two wireless profile names. The names (SSID) should be changed so that they are different from each other for each band 5 and 2.4. Also if the SSID is the default SSID that ships with the router, change it to a unique name as a neighbor within range may have the same SSID. Rename to "my unique SSID" and connect the printer to the new network name "my unique SSID" as example. If you need further assistance, list the exact model of your router
