HP officejet 4315 wont pick up photo paper

HP officejet 4315 wont pick up photo paper

It's about the settings in the printer properties.  Set it to the color picture paper you are suing and all  you problems will go away.  I was also going to take it back till my 15 year old suggested using the properties.

  • 4630 won't pick up photo paper

Hey, I just bought this printer and it's all set up. I'm just having a problem getting it to recognize that I've loaded the photo tray with paper. When it attempts to pull in a piece it fails and tells me to pull out the tray and adjust the guides and select ok. There are only so many ways to do this and nothing seems to be working. For the record I'm using 4x6 glossy HP photo paper Premium Plus. Thanks, Kat

    Hi,
I've included a link here to the hardware setup guide which includes details on how to load the paper. The paper should be loaded glossy side down.
I'm not familar with your printer but my own requires the photo paper to be pushed in quite far before the rollers can pick it up. When you pull out the tray, you might need to push the paper a little further forward.

  • Printing photos from my computer using hp 6520 printer won't pick up photo paper.

I have a new HP 6520.  When I try to print photos from my computer, I get an error message that the paper tray is empty.  It does not pick up the photo paper and print.  Help!!!

    1. My paper tray(s) are propertly loaded, I'm not a novice. 2.  The bottom tray is LOADED properly.  3.  The UPPER PHOTO TRAY is also loaded properly, shiny side down of course, properly filled and pushed forward as far as it can go. (It worked fine an hour ago when I printed a couple of photos). 4. Now no matter what I do, how I specify photo paper size, IT ONLY PRINTS OUT ON REGULAR PAPER FROM THE BOTTOM TRAY (8"X10") ordinary paper!! 5. When I UNLOAD the bottom tray, in an attempt to "fool" the device so that there's is NOTHING BUT photo paper, I get a prompt telling me I must load the paper before it will print the photo!  Of course when I reload the bottom tray with the ordinary paper, it still prints out the photo FROM THE BOTTOM TRAY PAPER!!   I'm wasting ink and paper and I'm not happy. I was on the phone for more than 2 hours two weeks' ago getting the first NEW printer set up and it was decided by all four techs I spoke to that I indeed needed to have a new device. 6.  I received this replacement device just 4 days ago, another couple of hours speaking to India, finally worked ok, even unti earlier this evening but NOW it will NOT use photo paper from the upper tray. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THESE TROUBLESOME HP6520'S?   I had a Photosmart 560 for years until it "died" a few weeks' ago and since then, this is my story with this product. You can check with India tech support to find my complete dealings with them vis-a-vis this product.
AND when I tried to sign up for this support 3 times I got refused telling me that the screen name I offered was already taken. Apparently the app was taking my information from when I may have signed up a couple of years' ago when I had an issue with my Photosmart 560.

I am using HP photo paper and it jams every time.  It acts like it's printing but nothing is generated on the paper.  I can print the photos on plain paper and it works.

    Hey @Mamadee6,
I'm sorry to hear that the firmware update is also failing for you. Ensure you don't have any 'out of paper' or 'paper jam' messages on the screen when you try to send the firmware. If all is fine on the printer when you try to send the firmware it does sound like something may be corrupt in your printers programming.
At this point I'm going to send you a private message with a special printer reset in it. I suggest that you check your private messages and run through the reset I'm going to provide you with. After running the reset be sure to post the result of the reset in this thread and not in the private message as our troubleshooting steps can be helpful to other HP Support Forums users.
    Good luck!

  • Cannot get printer to pick up photo paper

During setup everything worked fine, however I cannot get the printer to pick up and print on the paper in the photo tray. It prints everything on the A4 sheets. I have tried removing the A4 paper but this makes no difference.

  • The printer wont print on photo paper why is that

The printer keeps printing on paper instead of photo paper

How are you sending the print job, and what file type are you trying to print? I know airprint and eprint base the paper type on what file type is printing. If its from a computer you will have to specify in the print settings what paper to use.

    4. new printer added 1 day ago....prints from bottom paper tray only from computer but prints from both trays from the printer itself

I'm having the same problem.  Is there something in the software that I am missing.  I use Windows Live Photo Gallery software for the image, adjust the photo size to 4x6.  It prints a 4x6 photo on the 8x10 paper.  How do I tell the printer to use the size paper I am wanting for each photo?  Can it be changed print by print?  How do I switch it back to the 8x10 paper tray when needed?  Is there a page in the manual I can refer to?  Thanks for any assistance.

  • Printing photos from the HP Photosmart 6515- won't pick up the photo paper

I am trying to print photos from my HP Photosmart 6515. I have loaded the photo paper as the videos show, but the printer does not want to pick up the photo paper. I keep getting an error messge that says I am out of paper. If I put regular paper back into the printer, it will print on the regular paper, but not the photo paper. What am I doing wrong?

  • Printer wont pick up 6 x 4 photo paper

When we first tried to print from the computer on 6 x 4 paper,  the printer did so, but since then, it will not pick up 6x4 paper, but  it will print onto A4.   When requested to print onto 6x4 paper from the computer it picks up A4 each time.  We have tried disconnecting and it still wont pick up 6x4.

    Hi,
Are you using Windows 7 on your laptop and what printer model do you have?
If you're using wndows 7, then you should be able to specify the paper source as in the screen shot below. The main tray is usually A4 and the photo tray would normally contain the 6 x 4 photo paper.
Just to clarify one other point: when you say that the printer refuses to pick up the paper, is the printer not printing anything or just printing to a different paper source?

  • HP OfficeJet 8615 wont feed photo paper.

I've followed all the steps and suggestions I could find, including everything listed at http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-Pro-8610-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/5367603/model/5385104/document/c04117836/ and the **bleep** thing won't pick up either "HP Everyday Photo Paper, Glossy, 8.5 x 11 Inches" or Staples Photo Supreme Matte 8.5x11 paper and neither will feed though the darn thing.  It feeds plain paper just fine, but refuses to do any photo paper. I'm about ready to return this worthless piece of junk.  I've worked with Canon, Brother, and other printers before and I have never run into such a poorly designed feed mechanism.

I have found the same thing--except it will print on 4X6 card stock.  Initially it did seem to print on photo paper so I am thinking that perhaps it is the rollers that are either gummed up with ink or are worn after a while.  It seems that it also has difficulty printing thicker photo paper in larger sizes.

  • HP Photosmart Plus B209 - will not print photos - tray is not picking up the paper

The printer will not grab the photo paper when I attempt to print a picture.  It works just fine when printing other things, such as text from WORD or something from the internet.  Photo paper says "single sheet feed" on it, so I place one sheet in the tray.
Any ideas?  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks
