HP Officejet 4635 Scan Software says Device Not Found

I just successfully installed my new HP Officejet 4635 and can operate it wirelessly.  I am able to print and I can scan if I use the buttons on the device itself to tell it to scan.  However, when I try to load the HP software, it says "Device Not Found".  I tried using the HP Scan and Print Doc and it says everything is fine, but I still cannot load the HP Scan software.  I need to be able to scan multiple pages into one file, and I cannot do this by using the control panel that is on the device itself.  Anyone else have this problem?

I see you are experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help, but I do need a little information first. I am linking a couple of HP Support documents below that will show you how to find which operating system you are using. Also, please include whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit. With this information we can provide you with accurate information.
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

  • HT201210 Iphone 4 problem....downloaded ios7 and its froze on "pic of connection with arrow up then i tunes, then i tunes icon"  i go to restore and it says "device not found" although it is connected...

    iphone 4 - yesterday it popped up to update to IOS7.... now it is froze on the screen as a picture (one end of connection with arrow up to itunes written out to itunes icon"..... ive tried restoring and it says   "the iphone "iphone" could not be restored. Device not found"....  although i do have it connected to my puter and have itunes activated.
    i wished some one have warned me about this mess...

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
    DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

    After letting the battery run down, the ipad 2 says I have to restore.  I've fully recharged the battery, hooked the iPad up to the computer it says it is restoring but after the download, it says iTunes does not recognize the device.  We really need some help here...... Anyone have any ideas?

  • MegaSky 580 - 'Device not found!' ???

    Just bought this thing a couple of days ago but cant seem to get it to install drivers. I have Windows XP Pro. 64 Bit with SP's installed. My spec is:
    AMD Athlon 64x2 4600+
    1GB OCZ Platinum Ram
    Abit Kn9S M/B
    400GB Seagate SATAII HD
    1x Samsung DVD+-RW
    Enermax 380W PSU
    Ati Radeon X1550 PCI-E
    I can install PVR correctly but when I try to install drivers it says 'device not found' or something along those lines. Also mine is detected as a PC-DTV Receiver - it shows up in Device Manager.
    Any ideas guys? Other people have managed to install it on 64 bit machines so I should as well?

    are there any 64bit drivers for this device? if not, then it won't work under Windows XP x64 Edition

  • HP Device Not Found Error when trying to print or scan wireless- HP Officejet Pro L7590

    Have had HP Officejet Pro L7590 All-In-One Printer for years.  Always worked fine and I had no issues printing via wireless connection.  Several months ago..  Possibly after a Windows 8 update.  From Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I have not been able to use the printers wireless feature.  When I try to print or scan it shows the printer as offline.  Also get an error message that tells me "HP Imaging device is not found".  I can still print when connected to USB.  Cannot scan or use features of the HP software suite.  I have tried several times to correct.  Reloading the software and drivers several times, but no success.  I just tried again and was able to print the test page wireless, so got all excited and thought I fixed it.  Then tried to print something and got the same error message I have seen in the past.  I have talked to certain supports saying that it may be a firewall setting within Windows.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are not able to print or scan wirelessly to your HP Officejet L7590 and your computer running the Windows 8.1 Operating system. You get a 'Printer offline' or 'HP Imaging device not found' errors.
    I would like you to start with the steps listed below:
    Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type %temp%
    Delete all files and folders from the temp folder. Choose skip if any pop ups appear saying any of the files could not be deleted
    Uninstall the software again - Uninstall the Printer Software Instructions
    When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
    Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
    In the Open box, type
    msiexec /unregister
    and then click OK.
    Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
    In the Open box, type
    msiexec /regserver
    and then click OK
    *Note: there is a space between the c and the /

    I actually had the same problem here you just have to change the cable, i dont know exactly why but i think its because when you have your phone swithced of then it doesnt need more electricity so if a little pass then you can charge it for a while and then the iphone will automaticly open again,, so just go an buy a new cable nothing to scared of

    I was used HDD Seft-Test Options, it say "Hard Disk Passed". But i try to turn on notebook but fair: Boot device not found.

    Can you post back with the following.
    1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see Here for a further explanation.
    2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).
    3.  Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run a test on the Hard Drive.  Post back with the details of any error messages.
