Follow the onscreen instructions, making sure to proceed all the way through the installation without canceling or exiting any screen.
Note
Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted, or an install error may occur. Also, if your software is still not finding your printer over the USB connection, review the following USB tips.
+ USB tips
Ensure that your USB cable is no more than 5 meters (16.4 feet) in length. (For best results, use a cable that is less than 2 meters (6 feet) in length.)
Try connecting the USB cable to a different USB connector on the computer. (For example, if you plugged the cable into a front USB port, try plugging it into a port in the back.)
If the USB cable is connected to a USB hub or a docking station for a laptop, it could cause the installation to fail. Even if you believe that your USB hub works fine, try connecting the USB cable directly to the computer during the device installation (when prompted). You can always move it back to the USB hub later.
If you need to use a USB hub, use one that is externally powered instead of using a non-powered hub.
When the installation completes, try using your printer.
Turn your printer on.
If you are using a USB connection, disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Reinstall the software using the CD that came with the printer, or download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from the HP web site (recommended):

If given a choice, select the full feature software and drivers link.
This option may appear in an area labeled Drivers.
When prompted, click Save, and download the software to your desktop or a folder where you can easily find it.
Start the HP software installation by running the install program that you downloaded.
Follow the onscreen instructions, making sure to proceed all the way through the installation without canceling or exiting any screen.
Note
Some printer models require a USB connection during the install. If you are prompted by the software, connect the USB cable. • HP Officejet Pro 8610 will not install on Windows 2003 Server 32 bit.

When installing the 8610 with the disk, at the end it states and error occurred during the installation of the device.  The specified module could not be found.
When I install using the downloaded drivers,  after the files extract and the program connects to the printer, when I hit Continue a screen pops up and states  the operating system of this computer is not supported...   even though the 2003 Windows server is on the list.   Is there anything I can do to install the drivers?  All I need is basic printing .   I'm about ready to pack it up and return it... which means the other printers will have to be returned because I like them all to be the same.
    Please help.

    Hi,
Follow the steps below to install the software using an MSIEXEC command, the installation should not be done using the installer as any clieant operating system.

    A few questions for starters:
What happens when you try to install the driver?

  • Officejet 6100 - H611a Will not print in grayscale when color cartridge is depleted.

The title says it all. - Windows 7 64-bit
Officejet 6100 - H611a Will not print in grayscale when color cartridge is depleted!
Even though the documentation that came with the printer says it will.  After 2+ hours on the phone with HP support over the course of 2 days, I have been informed that printer WILL NOT print in black ink only if a color cartridge is empty.
I thought anyone who purchases this model should know the documents included lie.
From page 31 of the Officejet 6100 user manual:  "If a color cartridge is depleted, the printer will print in grayscale using the black cartridge."  LIES!
The HP Help Programs says the same thing.
I have hard-reset the printer, removed and reinserted all the cartridges, set the options to "black ink only," Nothing worked.  3 HP reps all said the same thing, "You have to get a new magenta cartridge."
Will be retuning for a refund as I purchased this model SPECIFICALLY because the manual said it would print the grayscale without color ink present.
Have had 4 HP printers over the years, never even considered buying anything except HP.  This will be my last HP printer.  Extremely disappointed by HP's deception.

Sorry the printer did not perform as expected.  I have escalated this in an effort to get this to the right people.

  • CS3 will not install on Windows 7, 64-bit. No error message. Just stops installing.

CS3 will not install on Windows 7, 64-bit. No error message. Just stops installing. This is a brand new machine. This is one of the first things I'm installing on it. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The disks are fine. I have the programs installed on my two XP machines. When I run the disk, I get the window pop up that says "Initializing Installation for Adobe Creative Suite 3". Then the disk stops spinning and nothing else happens. No error message. Nothing else happens. I'm baffled. I have searched several discussion boards and cannot find anybody that has had a similar install issue like this.

Old_Timer I would recommend reviewing your install logs to determine the exact error message.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the logs at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

iTunes 11.1.4 will not install properly - windows 8.1, 64 bit.  The only way I have found to recover is to restore my system.  I have unistalled/reintalled iTunes two times.  No success.  iTunes 11.1.3.8 functions properly (following system restore).  When is Apply expected to provide a workable update?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

I recently did a clean install of Win7 Ult on my X61 7676A24, and this is the only Lenovo software that I could not find a Win 7 solution for. However,
    1. I was able to load WinDVD8 upgrade (from Lenovo's Win7 information page) after first loading the WinDVD5 version that was the last good release for Vista.
    2. The Multimedia Center for Think Offerings is basically Roxio's suite for writing cd/dvd's, drag to disc and so on.
Since I could not load this anyway, I was forced to try out Win7's inbuilt cd/dvd writing - it works perfectly well.  Even better, Win7 natively supports an excellent ISO burning tool. So, I think if you explore these inbuilt tools, you can probably live without the Mul Cent for Think Off.
