HP Officejet 6500 e709a, printer offline

Hello,
In our office, several computers are able to print, through the network, from this printer. However, our manager's laptop, (Gateway with 1.6g processor, xp 2002 w/ service pack3) is now not printing from this wirelessly. Problem has persisted throughout this week and he just brought it to our attention today. Printer is telling us it is online, but he is getting an error message that the printer is offline. Anythoughts on why this is happening or what we can do about it?

The utility is of no utility when the printer is perpetually taking itself OFFLINE. No printer is detected. I power it down with the switch, unplug the power supply for anywhere from 20 seconds to 20 minutes, plug it back in, power it back up and my stalled print job may or may not print the last page of a two-page document (first one to print in my selected print order). If it gets to the first page, only part prints then the printer sits there doing nothing. After a long time, it spits out the front page. Usually it won't even get halfway down the page.
In the meantime, the HPHNDU.exe utility cannot even find the printer, regardless of when I press the "refresh printer list" button.
The software/device is broken. Didn't even get two years out of it.

HP Officejet 6500 E709a Printer - Wireless Networking Problem

Hello, I hope you can help me with networking my Officejet 6500 printer. I tried connecting it to my Dishnet wireless router via the USB connection. There is a Netgear N300 wireless router connected to the Dishnet router. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit.
When I open up HP Solutions Center, and select Network Settings, I get the error, "This product has not been configured for networking. No network settings are available." I printed out a network configuration page but it says the network status is offling and the EWS shows http://0.0.0.0. I have powered down everything (computer, printer, routers), and still get the same error. I tried running the HP Print and Scan Doctor but it did not fix the issue.
Besides the desktop, I have 2 other laptops that I would like to be able to print wirelessly from. Thank you for any help you can provide.

I'd like to help. I have some questions. Are you sure you have 2 routers? I'm not saying you don't, but it is not typical. Most often, a router is connected to a modem. The Internet signal comes in to the modem and then transmitted to the network through the router. I'm wondering if the Dishnet device is a modem and the Netgear is the router for your network.
The connection from the printer to the router would be through an Ethernet cable. A usb cable would not work for this connection. I am going to insert an image to this post so you can see where the Ethernet cable needs to be plugged in to the printer so you can be sure it is plugged in to the correct port.
I'm thinking that the printer should be connected to the Netgear with the Ethernet cable and another Ethernet cable should go from the Netgear to the modem. Let me know if you what you think.
The yellow plug is in the Ethernet port.

Can't print to HP 6500 e709a printer using Windows 8.1 from new HP Pavillion Laptop..have installed/reinstalled/deleted all-in-one etc tc 20 times HP Solution keeps snding me to download all-in-1 software.

Welcome to the HP Community , I read about how you cannot print to your Officejet 6500 e709a printer from your Windows 8.1 system, and I hope to help you! I am curious to find out that if there are any error codes or messages that occur when you run the installation for the printers driver and software. Please try the installation first by running the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows. If you see any errors, report them back to me and I will take a look at them. Please also run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Let me know what the results say. They will tell you if they fix a component, there is a critical error (red x will appear), or will show green check marks if everything checks out fine. You can run the tool twice and choose "fix scanning", and then "fix printing" on the second round, or vise versa. My HP Officejet 6500 E709a All-in-One will not print more than one copy at a time. This is especially disconcerting at Christmas time when you're trying to get Christmas letters in the mail! Any help?

The cyan portion of the printhead may be clogged. I would suggest running the diagnostics shown here. If three levels of cleaning of the printheads does not resolve the issue you may need a new printhead.

Officejet 6500 (e709a) MFP service manual or help with General Error

Hi. I have an Officejet 6500 (e709a) that I am having some problems with. It started with a paper jam/carriage jam message and then became a "General Error 0x61011beb". The carrier holding the ink cartridges was indeed stuck on the right side, so I followed a video showing how to open the unit. When I did I discovered a small plastic piece with a couple of gears had fallen off. The piece has different numbers on each side of it so I am not sure which numbers might be helpful in identifying it. I am not sure exactly how to put it back on so I am hoping there is a service manual for this printer or maybe even just some kind of general technical reference that has assembly diagrams? (I know this is a longshot but my local service center charges $50 just to diagnose the problem. I only paid slightly over $100 and I could get another for that same price so I'd rather save that $50 to use buying a new one if I can't fix this myself.) If it would help I could attach some pictures of the piece in question. Thanks in advance. Jim

HP OfficeJet 6500 (E709a) network problems

Hello. I have a new HP OfficeJet 6500 (E709a) Its all in one. I am trying to use it through a network in my home.
It is already working for 1 computer, a wireless laptop BUT not for me, a ethernet wired desktop.
PC: Windows 7 64 bit
Laptop: Windos Vista (dont know if 32 or 64) Using the printer succesfully wireless.
Well the problem is when trying to scan the printer or computer won't detect each other BUT I can print from my pc to the printer.
I installed it through the PC Add a Printer because everytime I tried it with the program downloaded from HP it wouldnt detect, EVER my connected and already tested printer. I can access the printers webpage, the 0.0.0.0.0 something page. I even tried the advanced installing way, manually typing the address the printer has but it would still not work.
I installed everything by selecting I would wire my printer later but to continue the installation I must find a way for it to detect my pc or the otherway around.

Yes, plug the printer into your router with an Ethernet cable the run the Add Device in the Hewlett-Packard folder (Start > All Programs).

I have downloaded drivers for windows 8 for my HP Officejet 6500 E709a Series printer, but the windows 8 system does not recognoze them.

Officejet 6500 e709a fails during multiple page scans

I have an Officejet 6500 e709a that I've used for years. I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit. Today it stopped scanning in the middle of a multi-page document and gave me this error code, 8, [(4, 0, -2147023170)]. It will scan one page with no problem, but after 3 to 5 pages I get the error.
I restarted the program, restarted my computer and uninstalled/reinstalled HP Solutions Center. Nothing worked.
Any ideas?

I read your post about the scanning problem you are now having with your Officejet 6500 model. I would first suggest running the Print and Scan Doctor and recycle your network devices, if you have the printer connected wireless or ethernet. If you have the printer connected USB, try a power reset.
Power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer.
Power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Please let me know the results!

Compatibility Windows XP HP officejet 6500 (E709) printer with new HP Pavilion

I just purchased a HP Pavilion 23 all-in-one. The store where I bought it said that they could not set up my HP Officejet 6500 (E709) printer because it was not compatible with the new Windows installed on the Pavilion. The CD for the printer says Windows XP, Vista Version 12.00 on the label. I hate to give up a perfectly good printer just because it is not compatible with the new PC. Is there a fix for this or was the technician just not looking in the right place for the driver.

There is always a chance that a glitch has occurred with the original driver install. Therefore, I always recommend, though it may not be an update, reinstalling the printer and software if necessary. It has solved a number of different types of problems.

Our hp officejet 6500 e710 printer will not print. it is networked, i can print a test page

We have a Officejet 6500 E710 printer connected to a HP Pavilion dv7 latop via our home network. Windows 7 op sytsem.
I can not get documents to print from the laptop.
The network connection appears to be good.
I can prnt a test page from the laptop and get it to scan but can not get it tp print any document or web pages.
It shows Status "Error printing"
Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't get it, I read one post about why would we have to buy an AirPrint Printer when we have used the "print to a wifi printer" just fine in the past? Yes I feel that's exactly what's happening to me now too. I want to print from my iPhone and iPad to my WiFi Printer which is also now connected to my Airport Express WiFi network just fine. No problems.

See requirements for AirPrint (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356):
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
Turn on WiFi router
Wait 30 seconds
Turn on printer
Wait 30 seconds
Turn on iPad
Try to print.

HP Officejet 6500 E709n printer - black ink not printing

I have an HP Officejet 6500 E709n printer and for some reason the black ink is not printing. The color cartridges work fine. I even changed the black cartridge, cleaned and aligned the print heads, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, but nothing fixed the issue. I was wondering if the color management profile has something to do with this. Please help!

I am experiencing the same problem. I too, have tried installing a new black ink catridge, taking out the printer head and cleaning it by hand, cleaning the printer head using the HP software, doing a partial reset, doing a hard reset and nothing. Black does not print out at all, whether it's an alignment page, quality report or something from my own files (Word, Excel, PDF, etc). The black does not appear at all. Can someone PLEASE help solve this problem?
