Hp officejet 6600 paper jams every time

all of a sudden, my officejet will not print ANYTHING! doesn't matter whether it's scanned, copied, etc.....it jams every single piece of paper inside it. The problem happens after printing, it seems, as it's coming through the rollers inside. Of course I can't prove this bc I cannot open it and print at the same time. I've unplugged it, resterted it...nothing changes, still crumples every paper. Very fruetrating...any ideas? n I am trying to avoid uninstalling the **bleep** thing and reinstalling it....I ave not tried different paper, but idk why that would matter, it's printing paper.....

Hi chris-green,

  • My new 8600 Premium e printer jams every time using eprint

My new printer (8600 Premium e) jams every time.  I have to pull the duplex unit to clear it.  There's paper behind the duplex unit every time.  I have to quit using eprint for this reason.  I've read the other messages about this but nothing has worked so for.
    Different files, same results.
    Thanks for any help rendered.

    Hello Phantom101st,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that your Officejet 8600 Premium printer jams when you send ePrint jobs to the printer.
I have included the A 'Paper Jam' Message Displays on the Printer troubleshooting document.  Please follow all the instructions in “Step two: Clear any jammed paper from the rear of the printer”.  I’m asking you to do this as it has some additional steps to check things in and around the duplexer.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please let me know.  In addition please include the following information:
How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
How are you sending the ePrint jobs to the printer (via the ePrint desktop software, sending an email to the printer’s ePrint email, via the HP ePrint mobile app, or the HP AiO mobile app)?
Are you able to print from your computer without the printer jamming?
Are you getting an error message?  If yes, what does the message say and where is it displayed (computer or printer)?
    Thank you.

  • Printer Jams every time I try to print photos.

    Re: Photosmart C8180 All-in-One.
Every time I try to print a photo I get a paper jam error message. I open the back panel pull out the photo paper try again and it'll jam every time.
How can I get my "Photosmart" printer to print photos?
Am I missing something? Do I have to use HP photo paper (I'm using a high quality glossy paper but not hp's).
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike.

    - OSX and Pages versions:
    OSX 10.9.2
Pages 5.2 (update is most recent)
    - is iCloud file sync On for Pages
Yes. But doesn't seem to affect printing (both iCloud files and files from computer wouldn't print)
    - copy of a document shows an error in Pages when printed
I don't really understand this. No errors appear in Pages or on the computer/printer dialog. The error occurs at the printer.
    - details about workflow before the error occurs; was the file edited
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. No consistent workflow patterns that result in this error. The only consistency I have found thus far is files with more than one page.

  • Officejet 6600 paper source

I recently installed the software for our HP Officejet 6600 and it has been printing fine.  However, when I go to print from word, and want to select a different paper source there is no option to do so.  What am I missing.  I want to print from the upper tray, not the lower paper tray.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @mcorsiglia ,
I would be interested to know if you are able to print from other programs, and have the option to print from Tray 1 or Tray 2, or if the issue is only within MS Word.
Please let me know the above and also which operating system you are running and I will look into this for you!
    Have a great day

  • Why do print jobs from Firefox create paper jam in my HP printer?

Running v3.6.13 in Win7 64-bit OS on HP laptop. Printer is a wireless networked HP Photosmart C7280. Print jobs from web pages result in a paper jam every time. Print jobs of documents from other applications as well as web pages from Internet Explorer all print normally. Jobs sent from 2 Macs in same network print normally. I think I've narrowed this down to Firefox being the only app to cause this problem.
The print jobs sent from the HP laptop send one blank page through the printer in front of each printed page. Printer properties, advanced, for the printer show a "separator page" for each print job which cannot be changed or disabled, AFAIK. The Firefox print jobs send the blank page correctly but the next page on which the job should be printed is the one that jams and stalls the printer. I remove the jammed paper, reset the printer and nothing more happens - the job is ended, nothing in the queue.

    Hi @annmade ,
I will certainly do my best to help you remove the rest of the paper jam inside the printer.
I have provided some documentation for removing paper jams.  Please go to page 69 of the manual.
HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Printer.
I would suggest to try running a plain piece of paper through, by running a cleaning page through the printer. It might help since you are unable to access the rest of the pieces of paper inside the printer. Resolving Print Quality Issues. Go to Solution six: Clean inside the product. I don't have any documents for disassembling the printer.

  • Officejet 6500 duplex printing paper jam

Every time I run duplex printing, paper stucks inside duplexing unit. It just gets smashed.
Is there a solution for that?

I have just bought an OfficeJet 6500 and am also having major problems if I try to use automatic duplex printing. The first side prints ok then waits a while to dry but when it tries to print the second side the printer jams every time. When I remove the duplexing unit the paper is always concertina'ed between the unit and the rollers inside the printer. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be really grateful! This is one of the features I was hoping to make use of.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus AIO automatic document feeder paper jam.

While scanning a smaller document using the ADF, it got jammed in the feeder. While recovering the document, a corner of the document got torn and got stuck in the document feeder. Now, every time I use the feeder to scan a document again, that document gets jammed because of a little chunk of paper that's still stuck in the feeder. I tried carefully with a toothpick to grab the little chunk of paper, but I can't get a hold on it. Is there any way to open the feeder a little more? Not just only the top lid of the feeder? Or are there any other ideas as to resolve my issue?
Thx for any suggestions you might have.

    Hello blissteach,
I understand you have done all the troubleshooting steps and the ADF is still not picking up paper on your OfficeJet 8600 Plus. I would like you to try and reset the paper sensor inside the ADF, please follow the steps listed below:
    1. Open the ADF top cover
    2. Locate the ADF paper sensor inside the top cover. (See image below)
    3. Make sure that the paper sensor hangs freely from the ADF top cover, and that the sensor parts are not broken, dislodged, or stuck.
    4. Close the ADF top cover.
Please let me know if this was able to resolve the paper pick problem, if it is still now picking up the paper from the ADF please let me know and I will send you a private message.
    Thank you in advance,

  • Model Officejet 6700 printer claims that there is paper jam when in fact there is none.

Printer officejet 6700 claims that there is a paper jam.  The fact is that there is none.  i can not print and the only solution   is to turn off the printer and restate. This is time consuming since I only printed a small  document.

    Hello Hvebueli123,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer stating that it has a paper jam even though none is present.
I do have a few steps that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document that deals with A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One and 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Pri....
I suggest that you go through the document just in case something was over looked when checking the unit for paper.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
This could possibly be a hardware issue.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Paper Jam error message due to broken gear on Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer

3 year old HP Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one printer (haven't used it much). Keeps telling "Paper Jam" although there is no paper jammed anywhere (searched meticulously with a flashlight after watching HP's tutorial videos on how to clear paper jams). I started searching on the Internet and found a couple of related videos on Youtube that pointed me in the right direction:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMFW1RRlDHEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwbF2Vs_0gQ  I could hear a clicking noise on that area of the printer each time I turned it on, so I carefully took the black cap apart that was hidding the gear, and confirmed I had the same problem as in the youtube videos above. See picture below showing the white plastic gear part that has a large crack which causes the Paper Jam error message and renders the printer unusable. After Googling a little bit, seems like a relatively common issue and wonder why such a part like that is not made of a stronger material like metal (planned obsolescence maybe?). Does anybody know if there is a way of replacing the broken gear?  (I really care for the environment and I would like to avoid having to throw the relatively new and expensive all-in-way printer away) Thanks a lot in advance for the advice!

Hey ,  Thanks for posting in the HP Support Forum.  I do see that a cracked gear in your HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer is impeding all functionality.  I would like to help you with this but that particular part is not replaceable.  I recommend you reach out to our tech support team to find out what servicing options you have available. • HP Officejet Pro 8500 , false paper jam error message, small plastic piece broken

    product : HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer - A909a
    OS : NA
Error : (fake) paper jam on printer screen
I made no change before the issue. It occured while printing 2 pages. The first one was ok, the second one never shows.
First I spend many time searching after the paper, cleaning my printer etc...
Then I looked on the internet for advices, ideas etc.
    Endly I found this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMFW1RRlDHE
I checked my printer and I saw the exact same piece as in the video broken...
I don't print often and I must say that I'm shoked that because if a f... piece worthing nothing all my printer and all the functions are unusable...
I tried the support to obtain information on how to get this piece replaced. All I got is an automated message saying banalities (expired guaranty) and other links to unrelated things.
Fortunately there was also a link to here...
    Thanks.
ps : My feeling is that this piece is made to fail if I believe many post often seen on google (look comments on the video)...

The very same thing happened to my 8500 WIreless.  I was printed a two page document and only one page came out.  since that time the printer is stuck in the 'Paper Jam' state.  Call it false or fake, it is simply inaccurate.  I watched the video and located the gear that breaks.  I opened the cover, stuck screwdriver in the sensor to make it think the cover was closed and watched it cycle.  I can clearly see that the white gear on the left is cracked, in fact separated.  The cycle causes the gear to rotate so I could get a good visual on it, even inside it's black housing.    I will now begin my hunt for repair options.

  • How can I control automatic print head cleaning every time my Officejet Pro 8500A Premium starts up?

In general we really like our new Officejet, but we're very frustrated by the automated start up procedure.  Every time we turn it on it does a self check and then cleans the print heads.  It's bothersome for two reasons: 1) We want to print quickly, not wait for 5 minutes.  2) We're worried that all this cleaning is using up our valuable ink.
We recently had to replace all the color print cartridges, and I think one cause for the other's depletion was all this cleaning.
    We're using HP cartridges.
It's possible that this printer is intended for an office environment where it just stays on 24x7.   For our occasional use, we normally turn it on when we need it and turn it off when we're done. If the power consumption is low enough (less than 5 watts) I'd consider leaving it on as a possible work-around.
I did my best to search FAQ and postings to see whether there was already an answer to this issue - but couldn't find one.
    This question was solved.

I bought HP officejet j4680 all-in-one two months ago from a dealer. Now it keeps telling me a "paper jam" which doesn't exist. I tried everything from the troubleshooting in HP website. The jam light just keeps blinking. Now I am so frustrated with this product.

  • Paper jam issue on HP OfficeJet Pro X576DW

My recently bought HP OfficeJet Pro X576DW displays and initiates a Paper Jam warning and holds printing subsequently. However, there is no "paper jammed".
Seems like one of the sensors is confused.
Is there a way to hard reset the printer, cause it is not working right now.

    Hope I can help you.
First, please see if you can make sure you have the latest version of firmware on your printer. If you hit the "?" mark and then touch Printer Information, you'll see the FW Version as the last thing on the screen.
The most current ends in 1336MR. If you have a number <1336, please update the FW.
The easiest way to check for FW is to have the printer connected to web services. The small icon on the upper left is for Web Services and under that menu is to check for update.
    Then...
    Settings/Tools/Advanced Cleaning.
Normally, this requires sending out of a cleaning pad by HP, however, try feeding a piece of card stock through tray 1. This may fix your paperjam.

  • HP Officejet 5610 All-in-one paper jam problem

Please is anyone out who can heIp me.
I tried to print a word document from my computer and my printer came up with the following message: Paper jam: clear jam and press ok. I have looked through the printer to see if there is any paper jammed in the printer. I just couldn't find any. This is the first time I have experienced this paper jam problem with my printer.
On pressing the OK button resulted in the printer making some strange noise (sounding as if it is trying to pickup a paper) with the catridge mechanism sliding from one side to the other for about 10 seconds without a paper in the paper tray being picked up. It then shows the paper jam message again and again. It has been the same for the last 5 hours and I need to print some documents urgently.
I have tried all of the following troubleshooting I found on the HP website without any joy.
Step one: Remove any loose paper Remove any loose paper from the input tray.
Step two: Clear the jam from the back of the Allin-
One 1. On the rear of the product, press in the tab on the left side of the rear access
door to release the door. Pull the door away from the product to remove it. Gently pull the
paper out of the rollers. CAUTION: If the paper tears while being removed from the
rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces of paper that might have remained
inside the product. Loose pieces of paper will cause future paper jams. Replace the
rear access door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place. Press OK to
continue the current print job. If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step. If
the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue to the next step. If these steps
resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the issue persists , see the next step.
Step three: Clean the rollers Turn off the unit, and then unplug the power cord. Press in the tab on
the left side of the rear clean-out door to release the door. Remove the door by
pulling it away from the unit. Wipe the paper rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened
with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers with your fingers to clean all the way
around. Allow the rollers to dry completely, and then replace the rear access door. Plug
the unit back in and turn it on. If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to
continue troubleshooting. If the issue persists , see the next step.
Step four: Clear the jam from the automatic document feeder (ADF) Lift the cover of the ADF.
Lifting the ADF cover Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. CAUTION: If the paper
tears when being removed from the rollers, check the rollers and wheels for torn pieces
of paper that might be remaining inside the product. Loose pieces of paper will cause
future paper jams. Close the cover of the ADF. If these steps resolved the issue ,
there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the issue persists , see the next step. The
next step couldn't be done because the paper is not loading.
