Hp officejet j5780 ... wont print yellow

my hp officejet j5780 ... wont print yellow
I"ve tried cleaning & priming cartridge but doesnt help.

The lack of yellow in printing could have many causes. Is the yellow missing if you print a diagnostic page? If it is missing altogether is is probably the cartridge itself. If you have already cleaned and primed the cartridge, then the problem is with the cartridge. If the ink is not low, the nozzles may have dried out, if printing does not occur once a month or so. The power should only be shut off by the switch is possible, as shutting down the printer by unplugging the power cord does not protect the cartridges.

  • Officejet 150 wont print full pages in Word

Officejet 150 Mobile misses printing parts of a page of text in Word 2007.  I created several lines of text and it simply won't print them all.  I then filled an entire page with Ariel, size 11 font.   It skipped printing every third line.  I repeated this with a larger font and it cut the text, horizontally, along the same width lines.  Did the same thing in Corel WordPerfect X4 with the same result.  Ditto in Avery Design & Print.  It won't print entire 3/4" sections across the page.  I've uninstalled drivers/printer, rebooted, etc., several times to no avail.  Print Doctor keeps saying device is busy but it's not.  No print jobs in que, printer was cycled on and off (several times).

    Hey @dmartin05,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum.
I understand your HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One Printer won't print full pages from specific word processing programs.  I would like to help.
I recommend you try the following steps so we can determine whether this is most likely a hardware versus software issue:
From the front panel of your printer, make a black copy of an ordinary full-page text document.  Does the partial page/print quality issue persist?
Next, touch Setup / Reports/ and Print Quality Diagnostic.  How does the Print Quality Diagnostic from your printer compare to the report highlighted in the following link?:
HP Officejet 150 Mobile All-in-One Printer Series (L511) - Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues
If you were able to make a decent copy of a text document, and your Print Quality Diagnostic Report printed without any discernible issues then we can safely assume the issue is software related.  If that's the case, please respond to this post and I'll be happy to provide further troubleshooting suggestions.
If you find it's the opposite and there are print quality issues from the front panel, treat this as a hardware issue and follow the troubleshooting steps provided in the above-linked article.
Best of luck - have a great weekend!

  • Hp officejet 7110 wont print on 11 x 17 paper

I just boughht a new computer with Windows 8.1.  Set up the Officejet 7110 but cant find an option to print on 11 x 17 paper.  There was an option on my old computer to print on Tabloid 11 x 17 paper, but it's not listed on the drop down menu now.  Any idea's?
    Thanks.

    Hi @terribletiger
It is odd that the Tabloid 11 x 17 paper is not listed on the drop down menu. Let's remove the printer from the computer and reinstall it using the Printer Install Wizard.
    Step 1   Remove the printer;
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
Tap or click PC and devices.
If you're removing a wired or network device, tap or click Devices. If you're removing a Bluetooth enabled device, tap or click Bluetooth.
Tap or click the device you want to remove, and then tap or click Remove device or Remove.

    Step 2   Install the printer
Download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.

  • Officejet 4620 Wont Print Black

I have an Officejet 4620. I used it 2 days ago to print something and it worked fine. Now all of a sudden, it won;t print anything in black. It also prints things that are supposed to be purple, in pink. I bought all new ink. I aligned everything, and cleaned the heads. My printer is also saying that my ink levels are still low, even though they are brand new cartridges. Can someone PLEASE help!? I am trying to print things for my wedding!

If you complete, or have already completed all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video.  I only suggest doing this if the printer is out of warranty; How to fix a HP Printer, not printing black ink and missing colours

I tried most of the suggestions in this thread, but stopped short of disassembling the print head. Nothing worked until I saw the video referenced in Sunshyn2005's message. That did work, but not on my first try. For the second attempt, I left the wet paper towels in place for a couple of hours to really soak the print heads. That did the trick.
So, thank you Sunshyn2005, for pointing me to the solution.   - Source

  • Officejet 8600 wont print

I have two laptops connected wirelessly to my Officejet 8600, and it's worked just fine for months.  Now, neither of my computers recognize the printer when I try to print.  When I go in to devices in both, they show the printer as being the default.  One is a PC running Windows 7 Enterprise, and the other is a Mac.  What is going on?

What is the IP address of the printer, you can get it from the wireless test page. When you say the PC and Mac can recognize the Printer did you try to search the Printer again or it was always there... Looks like the IP address has changed

  • Officejet 100 wont print color

    Hi all,
I've been operating my printer with just the black ink in it for a while by preference, and now that i have returned the tri-color to its slot in the printer, the printer will not print color.
When I try to use utilities it says "previously used cartridge installed:  Tri-color"
when I try to print a test page that includes color, it does not print the color
when I try to calibrate the color, it says that "the calibrate color procedure is only available when both the Tri-Color Print Cartridge and the Photo Print Cartridge are installed."
Anyone know what to do?  I don't want to buy a new Tri-Color Cartridge if I don't have to because I will be needing to print with only the black cartridge again after this print job.
    thanks

  • Officejet k7100 - Wont print on darker coloured paper

    Hi all
I'm hoping for some help. I like playing around and I want to print on some lazer blue paper in greyscale. However, every time I try the printer appears to ignore the fact I have paper in the tray and seems to give an error of 'No paper'. I have tried changing to lighter paper and it works fine, it only darker paper.
Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome.
    Thanks, Ethan

    Hi,
What you can try is telling the printer you are printing on transparent paper. THis should make the printer ignore the media sensor that checks for paper in the printer.

  • Officejet 7210 wont print on wireless laptop

Ok...my printer and wireless laptop read each other perfectly until I got a virus...took it in ..and after I got home with the computer, it would no longer work with the printer. Printer is plugged in through ethernet cable to wireless router.
    Running windows xp home

If you still have the driver loaded you can add it manually:
First, verify that you can browse to the printer's internal web page by its IP address.
    1. Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
    2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
    3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
    5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
    6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
    7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's IP address. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
    8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
    9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
    10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
    11. Click "Next"
    12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • 'Quick Fix' for HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer & 88XL Yellow Cartridge Popping out problem!

After reading other forum comments from people having the same problem with the yellow cartridge popping-out, combined with others who have realised that HP have no interest in compensating anyone for this rediculous example of, at best, 'bad design', or at worst 'blatent planned obsolescence', I have created a solution that may add another 1, 2 or more years of life to the HP Officejet Pro L7580 Printer.
This is not the elegant technical solution I was hoping for.  However, in hindsight, it may prove to be a more reliable solution than replacing the faulty part that is actually causing the problem.  So, here it is the solution ........
I found a wooden triangular door stop that I cut to size that fitted exactly in the space between the plastic door and the offending yellow cartridge. To hold it in place, I wrapped the doorstop with 2" cellotape, then I stuck the door stop to the inside of the plastic door with double sided cellotape (double sided stick-on foam would also work well). With the doorstop in the correct place, the plastic door closed perfectly and was snug enough to apply sufficent pressure to the offending yellow cartridge, and hence stopping it from popping out again.  To make sure the plastic door does not 'fly open' with the pressure of the yellow cartridge (when it wants to pop out!), I applied another piece of 2" cellotape around the outside of the door, holding it to the body of the photocopier.
This exercise only took 10-15 mins to do.  I feel this is a much better option than spending another $300+ on a new All-in-One  system, as well as being a good environmental solution.  If this is DELIBERATE 'planned obsolescence', companies like HP need to be more accountable for, at best, 'sloppy design'.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro L7590 suddenly won't print yellow ink.

My OfficeJet Pro L7590 suddenly won't print yellow ink.  The cartridge isn't empty.  It still prints everything else.  Things that require yellow ink come out a different color (ie: green comes out blue).  I've cleaned the printheads several times from the "tools" menu and the report says the printheads are in "good" condition.  I've also tried soaking the printheads in hot water for 5 min like was mentioned on here.  Still nothing.  Any suggestions?

If you have, and still see bad red and green blocks on the PQ Diagnostic page (as described in the document), you may have to replace the black/yellow printhead (even if the printhead health is reported as 'good'). You can check your warranty on that printhead here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&docname=c00206040
