HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 not printing blue

I've tried the suggestions here with no luck: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01962224&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la...
If you look at figure 11, group 2 after the black and gray block shows only a trace of blue, The 3rd and 4th blocks look pretty good, but the last one is shades of yellow.  I've tried a full cleaning cycle twice and have unplugged and re-plugged.  Oddly, the last time I cleaned, the intermediate cleaning results for blue look worse that the first phase of cleaning.  Also, if I print a full page, blue shows on the top half then fading out toward the bottom.  At this point I'm just wasting ink and paper.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi samsquared,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I have read your post on the dimishing print quality of the blue cartridge, and I would be more than happy to be of assistance!
In addition to faded colour, what does the quality look like on Test Pattern 3? Are there white or black lines going horizontal through the gray bars?
Since you have already performed two printhead cleanings with diminishing results, I would recommend replacing your magenta/cyan printhead. This step can be found in the Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues document under "step 3" of "Solution 4."
If replacing the printhead does not resolve your issue, please call our technical support at 1-800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 does not print black

Hi We bought an HP office pro 8000 printer which we have had in the box in a cupboard for the last 14 months (never been opened), I have finally got around to getting it out of the box ans setting it up, however it does not seem to print black only the other colours. The black ink looks fine and I can see it comes out of the cart. HP will not help with the problem as the printer is out of warranty even though it has never been used. Anyone got any idea's why it will not print black
    Thanks

Are you able to generate a PQ Diagnostic page? Any black showing up?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Will Not Print

Hello, I have had a persistent problem with this printer which appears that it loses connectivity, however a diagnostic page revealed that it was connected to my wireless router and ready to go!  I don't know what to do and am getting extremely frustrated with this printer.  It was working fine, albeit I don't use it that often, and when I went to use it recently it didn't print and I noticed it was out of two different inks.  I replaced the ink, printed a test page, and tried to reprint.  No luck!  It says there was an error printing but won't say what kind of error.  The computer recognizes the printer, it is set to default, it is NOT set to work offline, what else should I do?  Thanks for any help you can give to resolve the current situation, and to determine why this constantly happens!

  • Can i force a officejet pro 8000 a809 to print black and white when a color cartrigde is empty?

I am trying to get two text document printed and I get an No ink/toner message on the top the printer que window. It is the Yellow ink cartridge, can I bypass this and force it to print in black and white only?

I know these posts are old, but.
To force the print to print even though some carts are empty or expired. Turn the printer off. Then hold the feed button while turning the printer on. Keep the feed button pressed for about 4-5 seconds after powering on the printer.

  • Hp officejet pro 8000 a809 installed locally on vista business with driver 8.12.2008cant share to xp

My customer has a HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 installed locally on Vista Business with driver 8.12.2008 He wants to share this for use on the XP PC but after installation on XP and trying to go into printer properties the message comes up "The HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 Series' printer driver is not installed on this computer. etc etc Do you want to install the driver now? It doesnt matter if you go through the installation process or not, when you try and print a test page you get "Test page failed to print. Would you like to troubleshoot etc"
I have tried installing the XP drivers locally AND on the Vista PC but with no luck. On the shared tab under "additional drivers" there are only Vista drivers listed.
    Any advice gratefully received.

Depending on the model of the unit it may not be wireless. if it says A809n then it is a wireless model, but the A809a model is not.  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01659070.pdf Here is the manual for that unit in case you need it.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 A809 printing line feed page after every job

I've searched and I have found this is a known issue - that there is supposed to be an update to fix this. I can't find this update anywhere for the HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809. It is connected to the computer via a USB cable. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, changing the print heads, doing diagnostics on it, ..., and I still get the line feed page printing after every print job. Help!

Hey there @tjkalb, I hope you are doing well
I read your post about how a "line feed" page prints after each print job from your Officejet 8000, running Windows 7. I have some steps and questions for you to try to get started. Afterwards please get back to me with the results and we will go from there if needed.
    1. Does the "line feed" page print after print jobs from all programs, or are you finding it prints when you print from somewhere specifically?
    2. Try a Clean Boot on your PC, restart the PC, and try printing from Notepad to see if the line feed prints.
    3. Print a Print Quality Page from the printer and examine it for any defects and to see if the line feed page still prints afterwards:
    source
    4. Click here and try download the "Updates" for this printer: HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer - A809a
    5. Create another User Account profile on your computer and try printing from there to see if the line feed page prints from another profile.

You can use 3rd party software such as Print n Share if you have a PC or Printopia if you have a Mac.
Or you can check HPs site and see what they have available.

  • Paper mismatch error with HP officejet pro 8000 (A809)

officejet pro 8000 A809 wireless -wrong size paper
running OSX 10.7.3 on a macbook pro 2.3GHz Intel i5
this printer has been running fine for a couple/three years now.. no problem when I got the new macbook last summer, or when i upgraded to Lion.
Now it has started getting confused as to what the paper size is - i get this error:
Paper Size Error: The paper size selected in the printer driver software does not match the paper size in the printer IN tray.
but only SOMETIMES. Like right now after screaming at it for an hour, unplugging and rebooting, etc., I sat down to write this and needed to get the exact wording for the error, so i told it to print. And it printed just fine. So I tried the next page I need to print, and I got the error again. I didn't even TOUCH the printer in between. The paper is letter size, it's always letter size. It's in landscape mode, but it has been for the whole morning, while I've been printing out certificates. Now it won't do it anymore. I am at a complete loss. I have rebooted my computer 3 times now, and unplugged the printer countless times. HELP!!!!!
It did this about 3 weeks ago and gave me fits for a couple days, and then magically started working fine again. I've deleted the USB and Bonjour versions of the printer from system prefs and re-added them. More than once. ;-)
    Any ideas?

Though a day late & dollar short, I too encountered this issue with Yosemite.
After removing the paper & restarting the printer, I determined the issue to be related to the document. The document I was printing was sent to me from an international corporation. Which I figure was using a non-US paper format or a larger page format for the document.
I tried to change those within the document & was unsuccessful.
I copied the content to a new document & it printed fine.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809

after installing Snow Leopard I have been getting error messages saying the software for the printer was installed wrongly. I am then invited to authenticate, and it runs off and 'repairs permissions' then prints.. Doesn't say what permissions and the time taken is too short for it to be a full permissions repair.
The printer software, aside fom the initial install with Snow Leopard and the variousO.S. updates, was installed through the Software Update sub menu. I assume it is not a matter of  user privileges though I nearly always run in a non admin and authenticate. I have a few times had issues with apps and only got by them by installing in root, but that seems not what is involved as a set of 'permissions' was apparently being repaired.
Incidentally I have just been ploughing through an 11 page posting on HP printers where some seemeed more intent on propounding canaon law than helping, so don't bother with a recitation of  dogma such as on not using root.
I have just taken a download of the HP drivers from the Apple site so could delete the `hp drivers (If I can track them down) though I would like an opinion on the best way to then re install them. By the wy my OS is now 10.8.3

  • HP officejet Pro 8000 Can't print when color cart is empty enven when printing in grey scale

I do not use color in my printing.  Nonetheless when the printer says my color cartdridge is empty I can not print.  I spent a $100 on color cartdridge and never used them.  They now show empy and I can't print.  Is there a work around or should I just junk this printer.  Thanks for your help.
    Bob

    Hello Bobmcclammy,
I can understand the frustration when the printer, in your case the Officejet Pro 8000, stops and tells you to change inks you are not even using. I too have fought with this in the past. Unfortunately, there is no "work around" for such an issue, at least that I have been able to find.
Even when printing black text only, for example, a resume, the printer will be using a subtle amount of color as a base. Printhead maintenance also will chip away at the ink, this is to ensure the ink is not drying up within the print system. This information will explain more: Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers.
What I have done in order to get the most out of the printer ink is, set the printer in a black only grey scale mode. This needs to be set in the printing preferences in the print driver installed on the computer.
The inks will still need to be replaced, but it should help for the future.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 no borderless printing on card stock via Windows driver

I just setup the OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless printer the other day with the intent to print borderless cards on card stock.  I can print anything to it without issue however if I attempt to use borderless mode the Windows driver does NOT allow any paper type other than photo or glossy borchure types.
If I print anyway on card stock it looks ink soaked and muddy.  If I print on their recommeded types it looks fine but a card needs heavy card stock, not med or light paper weights.
If I do not select borderless, the print (on card stock) has a dredded border but the print quality is fine.
The driver will not allow even a "normal" or "draft" borderless on standard paper types.  Is there a hack or modification to allow me to print borderless on any paper?

  • Officejet Pro 8600 will not print multiple copies

When I first set up my HP Officejet Pro 8600 I could print multiple copies.  Not sure when, how, or why but I can no longer print more than one copy of any document at a time regardless if it is one page or 100 pages.   I tried to update the drivers but the update failed as it said it could not uninstall the printer. When I did the error reporting it said there was no solution.
My OS is Window XP Home
The printer is connected via network.
I print mainly from MS Word 2010 and Adobe PDF files and I have the same issue from either program.
    This question was solved.

Since the drivers and software refuses to update automatically, force it to. Uninstall all of the printer software and install it back using a fresh download. That will ensure that you have the latest driver and software for the printer installed and eliminate the need for updates for a while. I'll link them below. If that doesn't fix the problem with multiple documents not printing, try using an alternate driver for the printer. I'll link those instructions below. Let me know what happens.

  • HP Officejet Pro 7580 networked & not printing via PC or Mac

I have a hp officejet pro 7580 and I'm unable to print. I'm unable to communicate with the printer via Mac or PC. I have added the printer again and downloaded a recent update via the PC. I have restarted the ethernet router and the printer, still not printing. I have had this problem before but it "magically" started printing. Now the communication problem is back and I need help! On the PC (HP Officejet Pro L7500) shows the port in the print que address so it does see it but there is a printing error. I have an iMac (intel) running Mac OS 10.5.4 and a PC running XP Pro We have had the printer for about 3 months and this has happenned twice before. I am able to print an "Self Test Diagnostic Page" from the Mac. But any other document results in a communication error.
The first time I reloaded the software on both computers and it still didn't work then later it worked and later it happenned again and then worked days later.
Now, I've tried a "fixed IP address: 192.168.173; Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0; default gateway 192.168.1.2; Configuration source: manual; DNS Server: 192.168.1.2; Link configuration: 10TX - half (network printing). It was working for awhile.
Now, It is back again communication error (not printing), why is this happenning? Please, please help! Thanks.
