HP Officejet Pro 8500 not finding wireless network

When I run the Wireless Setup Wizard the printer displays the names of all of my neighbor's wireless networks but it doesn't show mine.  I know it is working as my laptop is connected wirelessly right now so I can post this!  This is a new issue as the printer has connected and worked in the past.  I  have restarted the printer several times and I have left it off overnight and reset.  Still my wireless network doesn't show up as an option for it to connect with.  Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums ehudson
I saw your post about your Officejet 8500 not showing your wireless network when you run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
My suggestion would be to first power recycle the network:
Power down the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (not touching any buttons on the router)
Plug the router back in and wait another minute and then restarting the printer and PC.
Run the Wireless Setup Wizard again
If the network is still not detected, check your router settings:
Network name and password need to have no spaces or punctuations
If using WPA2 security, switch to WPA personal
Dual broadcast Wireless b/g/n (printer will only connect to g)
Mac filter needs to be turned off
Firewall settings need to be at there default settings, or set to a lower security
Multicasting "on"
Following ports need to be un-blocked:
Incoming (UDP) ports : 137, 138, 161, 427
Outgoing (TCP) ports : 137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500
I hope that helps, let me know the results!

  • HT1695 Ipad will not find wireless networks that it used yesterday, but MacBook Pro still finds and uses these networks.

Our ipad will not find wireless networks that it used yesterday.   Our Mac Book Pro finds them and uses them.
we have reset the cable modem and wireless router, turned off the ipad and turned it back on.   Turned wireless off and back on.
but it just spins trying to find networks but finds none.
    What do do next?

Settings for wireless network connections are actually stored in two separate places on your Mac, so in addition to the correct advice offered by Jolly Giant, you will also need to delete old network listings in KeyChain Access.
Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > KeyChain Access
Locate the name of the wireless network that you want to delete and click it to highlight it
    Click Delete on your keyboard
It would be a good idea to go ahead and also delete the current connection as well in case it has become corrupted. This will clear out the old settings and when you next connect to the network and enter the password, the new settings will be preserved.

  • Problem Connecting HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g to Wireless Router LinkSys EA6300

Hi- Please help. I just got a new computer and am trying to set up my printer wirelessly to connect to my computer. With my old computer, I had it connected via a wired usb connection because I could not get the wireless setup to work. I would like to get the wireless figured out now that I have multiple devices.
I tried to connect my printer (HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g) to my wireless Router (Linksys EA6300), followed the prompts 'Setup -> Network -> Wireless Setup Wizard' on the front pane of the printer. It was unable to find my wireless router. I tried putting in my router name/SSID and WPA password and it still cannot locate the router. I am assuming this is a router setting issue, but I am not sure what to change to get my printer to be able to find the router for the wireless connection. I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

    Hi,
To better understand the issue, can the printer see other networks in your area? can your PC see multiple networks or only your router's SSID (in order to deny any issue with the wireless radio of the printer).
As I can see the EA6300 is a dual band router.
The first thing to check is that your router being set to broadcast a wireless signal using the 2.4GHz band, the pritner doe not support the 5.0GHz band and will not see a router configured to broadcast in such a band.
As well I would ensure that you do not have any other device which broadcast the same SSID as your router, as your router more likewly configured to broadcast both 2.4 ang 5.0 GHz bands (As a Dual Band router) I would also ensure that a different SSID being set for each band (e.g. home_24 / home 5)
YOu may contact the router service provider for further assistant with your router configuration, you may also try following its user guide below:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g series wireless is only printing pink after all inks have been replaced

I have changed all ink cartridges twice and it is only printing print and not entire page.  I have cleaned printhead, replaced all cartridges twice, aligned.   Shows on screen that all ink cartridges are full except on upper corner it is showing ink 1/4 full.

    Hi @vspivey,
I understand your printed output is pink instead of black despite your efforts so far. I would be happy to help you from here.
Although you have already cleaned the printheads, and changed cartridges, the following document might be helpful; Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier (A909n) and 8500 Wireless (A909g....
If the issue persists, you might consider calling us. We can check the price and availability of replacement printheads, and/or discuss the option of a newer printer model. If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

  • Can't install Officejet Pro 8500 A910 on the network in my Windows XP laptop

Everything installs normally except connection options fail to detect the printer when the network connection is selected. The prompt that follows for network type also fails when wired (Ethernet) is selected. Firewalls are turned off during installation.
The network printer can be seen by the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility. Using the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility to check connection indicates software missing, connection verified, and test print failed.
The Officejet Pro 8500 A910 Embedded Web Server can be opened from the web browser by entering the IP address.
Changing the printer port to the IP address allows the printer to work but does not enable all of the all-in-one functions such as scanning or running HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe.
Turning the power off and back on to the printer, computer, and router did not fix the problem. Re-installing the software several times did not fix the problem.
The installation works normally with other computers on the same network that run Windows Vista or Windows 7.
So far, customer support has not been able to help.
    This question was solved.

    Resolved, not solved.
I talked to HP product support. The Officejet Pro 8500 A910 will not install on Windows XP (at least the Home Edition) when networked through a router. It will install through USB. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with only USB connected to clean out all the network printer/scanner information. Product support claimed it would install through an ether net cable connected between the printer and computer but this does little good if you need internet access.

  • JournE Air 801 Not Finding Wireless Networks

My Air 801 was able to see my wireless networks when I first switched it on. I was having difficulty in getting WPA2 security to work so I reset the 801 to factory defaults using the reset hardware button on the device.
Now I am unable to find any wireless networks.
Any ideas how I can get my 801 to find wireless networks again?
    Thanks for your help/advice.

    Hi
Are you sure the Wifi is enabled in the settings of Air 801?
Usually the WLan icon should be visible in the left upper corner if the WLan has been enabled.
I downloaded the user manual for Air 801 (Toshiba European page -> Support and download -> user manual). On the page 42 you can find all the details about networking.
You can use the Wifi protected setup. This is the easiest way to connect to the network.
    - Select Wifi protected setup and press OK
    - press the wps button on your wlan router and then press ok to continue
    - press exit to return to the previous page.
Then use the Wifi wizard to detect and to connect to WLan router in your area.
    - select wifi wizard
    - press up and down to select your preferred router
    - press OK to confirm your selection
    - enter the password for e secured router
You can also use the advanced configuration
For this check the user manual!

  • MacBook pro does not detected wireless network?????

Hi! I have an airport express that provides the wireless network for the house. My iMac and iBook as well as iphone have no problem detecting the network. But the network does not show up in the drop down list that shows up when I turn the airport on. When I click on "other" and type in the information that way, the connection times out.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!
    Thx!

I have a similar problem. When I set the network to not be closed, My MacBook Pro finds and connects when I return from being away. When I set the network to be "closed", it will not connect automatically (I have checked "Remember and network this computer has joined" & "Remember this Network ") it will not join automatically. However, when I enter the name and password, it connects and all is well. My iPhone will automatically connect regardless of the "closed" being checked or not. Any suggestions? I would prefer to retain the "closed" setting for extra security.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

  • Macbook Pro will not remember wireless network

We have two Macbook Pros and are having issues with one of them not finding and then not remembering a particular wireless network.  The other one works normally on this network, as do our iPad and iPhones.
The problem Macbook Pro will find a number of other wireless networks in the vicinity, but not the one we wish to connect with.  However, when the required information about the network is entered into the Network Preferences, it does see the network and will connect with it, until the computer is shut down.  When it is powered-up again, the Macbook will not find it, even though, in theory, it had been told to remember it and that network had been moved up to #1 in the order of priority.
The settings on both Macbooks are the same, so why can one find and remember the network and the other not?  What can I do about the problem?
    Help please!

  • Officejet Pro L7780 Wired and wireless networking at same time

I have an officejet pro L7780 printer that I would like to use wired and wireless networking at the same time.  It that possible.  The printer is connected directly to the network by ethernet, but I would like to print wirelessly with an ipad or iphone using HP ePrint Home and Biz.
    Thanks,
    Maurice Hawley

The bad news: no it is not possible to have two connections active on your printer at once.
The good news: the router will connect any device to the printer regardless of how the printer or the devices are connected.  So your iPad can print to a printer that is wired (with Ethernet) to your router.
If it does not work, restart your router by pulling its power plug momentarily.

Wrong forum. Your question has nothing to do with Oracle Database Installation. You might try the [url https://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=822] Oracle Linux forum..
When you post there it will be helpful if you will provide some detail on what you actually did and and the result. So far all you've really said is "Here is a picture of a Ford. Why can't I get my Chevy to run?"

  • [Solved] Wicd not finding wireless networks

I have a Belkin Wireless G USB key and can't get it to find any networks.  The wiki said the driver was built into the kernel, so I'm guessing it should work with no problems.  I followed the wiki on installing wicd, and while wicd finds and connects to my wired connection, it's not showing any wireless networks.  Is there something I should be editing that wasn't mentioned (or I failed to notice)?
Edit: Got it.  Ran 'dmesg > eek' and read through it, found out I was missing the firmware.  What confused me was that the firmware wasn't the one mentioned in the wiki.  Nonetheless, works now.

Having similar problems with my ageing G5and 10.5.8.
Sometimes get a 3 band wireless /fast connection to my network but at other times when waking from sleep get nothing. I have to reboot my airport extreme base station and the Netgear router and then the G5 can see the network again.
Recently had an issue with the G5 not recognizing the wireless password (WPA 2 personal) without logical reason.
    I did a Keychain First Aid verify/repair.
Now back on a 3 band wireless and for now all seems fine.

  • RTL8192SEvB wireless card does not find wireless networks

    Hello everybody,
After some updates in Arch I noticed my wireless RTL8192SEvB left to locate wireless networks. Has anyone experienced the same problem or know how to remedy it?
    Note:
    - My Arch installation is already with systemd;
    - The card driver is installed correctly, so I used it normally before this "crash";
    - The system recognizes the card as active and behaves normally (as if it worked) - lspci and co. OK;
    - I use KDE and Network Manager as a GUI.
    Already very grateful.

WonderWoofy wrote:The rtl8192* driven cards tend to be pretty shoddy at best.  I have seen reports of these "se" cards working fine with one kernel and not at all with the next.  You may want to experiment with previous kernels to see if it changes things.
Thanks WonderWoofy, but it does not work.
    I tried, without success.
What I find interesting is that for the system, everything is normal with RTL8192SEvB.

  • New Airport express not finding wireless network

I just got a new AX plugged it in it was recognized did the set up and said to update. It went through the update but the amber light kept flashing. After the update I also lost my internet connection. I have to re-establish my internet connection each time it goes through the update. I have tried the hard boot to the factory specks three times and it still will not recognize my network. I just want to use it to play itunes through my stereo. I am not a computer person so this is very frustrating to me

You will want to configure your AX to "join" the wireless network created by your 2Wire router.
Either connect to the AX's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then using the AirPort Utility in "Manual Setup" mode, make the following changes:
    AirPort > Wireless
o Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
    o Network Name: <existing 2Wire's wireless network>
o Wireless Security: <select the encryption type of the existing wireless network>
o Wireless Password: <enter the existing wireless network password>
o Verify Password: <re-enter the existing wireless network password>
    Music
    o Enable AirTunes (checked)
o iTunes Speaker Name: <enter desired speaker name>
    o iTunes Speaker Password: (optional)
    o Verify Password: (optional)
o Click Update to write the new settings to the AX
    In iTunes:
    iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
o Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)
