HP Officejet Pro 8500A to printout 100%?

How can I setup my HP Officejet Pro 8500A to printout 100%? Printout now is reduced.

Do you mean to print borderless? without any margins at the side of the pages?
If so, please remember that borderless printing is supported on Photo Paper only, and not while using a plain paper.
Otherwise, please clerify

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Periodically resets itself

About every 20 minutes the screen on my HP Officejet Pro 8500A goes blank, then redisplays, followed by the carriage shifting sounding like the printer is resetting itself to print a job.  I'm set up on a WiFi connection and have no screen blanking set.  This resetting is VERY disconcerting as it happens with no warning.  How can I stop this periodic reset?
    This question was solved.

    Hi HevnLgh,
I completed all of the steps you recommended and they did not solve the problem.  However two days later the problem has disappeared.
The problem was not that the printer was powering off.  Also it was not connected to a computer in any manner other than WiFi, though it did have a phone line connection to send/receive FAXes.  The printer display was blanking for a few seconds, followed by redisplay and carriage movement that sounded just like when it was getting ready to print.  However no printout resulted, nor was there any print job pending.
Now the display goes dim periodically for a few seconds, but comes back on.  However there is no longer any carriage movement or other noises.  Since the sudden noise was always the annoying factor I'm satisfied that the issue is resolved.

  • New HP Officejet Pro 8500A Eprint Issue

Just setup my new Officejet Pro 8500A.  I can't connect to the eprint server to obtain my eprint email address.  Tech support keeps saying the eprint server is down. I am trying to connect from my printer by going into "settings", "web Services Settings", then "printer email address".  The printer goes out to the internet but is never able to connect to the HP eprint server. I am sure i am connected properly.  i download an up-date already.  I hope this server does not go down for days. Yikes!

    Hi RFreeman,
The HP ePrint Server was experiencing degraded performance but this has been resolved.
Where you able to register and receive the information page printout?
Are you still seeing this issue?
When you login to ePrintCenter, what is the status of the printer?
How is your printer connected to the router?
    Thank you.

  • How do I print from my iPhone to my Officejet Pro 8500A?cc=us

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500a, I would like to print from my iPhone 4, how do I set it up?

The printer must be connected to a router, either wired with Ethernet or wirelessly.
On the front of the printer, find and enable "Web Services".  If this is successful you will get a printout of your printer's email address and other details.
Now, make sure your iPhone has the latest version of iOS and connected to your wireless router (wirelessly, obviously).  Now, it should work!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printing issues

I have been having two new issues suddenly (within the past 2 weeks) with my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. I am trying to print from my iMac 27 inch running OS.X 10.8.4 Both the mac and the printer are connected to a wireless network via an Xfinity Wireless Gateway. I have just replaced the ink cartridges in the printer but am unable to print black & white. In fact everything is comming out kinda pink. I have posted on HP's support site and was told to
    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
    Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Having done that initially my problem was solved. But now I'm having the problem again. I went through the above steps again, but still not able to print. Are there any suggestions for a fix. Is anyone else seen this issue? Is there a particular printer manufacturer that works well with Apple. Because at this point I have a large paperweight that is of no use to me!

The fact that it was solved and then came back points to some (unknown) issue with your Mac's software.
Try these generic fixes first (and then do the reset printing system and re-add again):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1417
(one of the three methods - I like Disk Utility best - you can also repair disk permissions while there.)

  • Scanning Problem - HP Officejet Pro 8500a

I've had a problem with scanning from my iMac running 10.6.8 (and lesser versions) to my HP Officejet Pro 8500a over my wifi network.
Printing works flawlessly. When I try to scan a single-page document or photo, it scans only about HALF of the page then stops. It doesn't matter if I scan using the Preview, Print and Fax or what.
I've searched these forums for anyone reporting a similar problem but can't find any.
Any help would be appreciated. Apple Support has not been helpful.
    Thanks!

Try this: Open the HP Device Manager. Click Information and Settings. Select Scan preferences from the drop down list. Uncheck the box that says Skip Scan Preview Window. Now when you scn, you look at the preview and drag the lines to whatever you want to scan.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A and Google Calendar

The Google Calendar application for my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A always prints the calendar offset by one day; i.e. Sunday's events are listed on Monday, Tuesday's events on Wednesday, etc.  All settings are fine, otherwise, prints like a champ on everything and anything.
Any idea on what can be changed to allow this application to work correctly?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.  I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer.  After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
    OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
    HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router).  All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues:  2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans.  Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop.  What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer.  ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium.  Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end.  And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up.  I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed.  Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
    Help?
Addendum:  I can scan using HP Printer Assistance.  I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.
    This question was solved.

  • GOT A HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500A PLUS; I MUST RE-ENTER WIRELESS SETTINGS EVRYTIME I USE IT??

I just got an OfficeJet Pro 8500a Plus, on the touchscreen i have to set-up (username and password) the wireless connection to my wireless SSID; and that confirms the connection ok. At that point i can print no problem, scan and fax.
The problem arises when my wireless router fails and restarts, the next time i use my printer it says it is not connected and i must reconfigure from the touch screen again username and password. Is there no way to have these settings entered permanently so if my router resets or whatever i do not have to re-enter all settings? Thanks for the help and hopefully good news.
    Thank you so much

This is strange.  Does the printer ever lose power?
Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can change the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • Booklet printing hp officejet pro 8500a plus

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus and run Win 7 64-bit and MS Office 2010 Pro.  I can print booklet format from PDF documents, but not from Word.  In Word, when selecting [Print Properties], I can choose [booklet], but once I click on OK, this setting is discarded and defaults back to full page double-sided printing.  How can I fix this? I have tried it with a different printer and it then works from Word, suggesting that the problem probably lies with the printer driver.

NOTE:    The printer driver does not support manual duplexing. Two-sided printing requires an HP Automatic Two-sided Printing Accessory to be installed on the device

  • Alignment failure - HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus all-in-one printer. The printheads failed and I bought authentic HP printheads (two), installed them and I still get the alignment failure error. The print quality is excellent on all quality and alignment reports that I have printed. What is the problem and what is the solution?
    Craigranderson

Hi craigranderson, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see you are experiencing an alignment failure.  I would like to try and help.
I would suggest performing a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend following the steps in this document on an 'Alignment failed' Error Message Displays on the All-in-One.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Why can't I print to my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One from my wired PC?

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus All-in-One on my network.  My router is wireless, which several of my devices (laptops, ipads, etc.) use to get an internet connection, but I have one desktop PC that is actually wired to the router via ethernet cable.  For some reason, when I attempt to print to the 8500 from the wired PC, the doc just sits in the que, eventally registering as an 'error'. But all of my wirelss devices can print to it just fine.
Oddly, this is somewhat of an intermittent issue, as I have printed successfully from this PC before, but I can't right now.  I'll also throw this in: I have at times, plugged an ethernet cable into my wireless-capable laptop and had the same issue.  But then I just unplug the calbe, reboot, and turn on wireless, and can print without any issues ... so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the PC is wired to the router.
Don't know if this has anytthing to do with it, but my wireless network is called 'FrogNet', but my wired PC doesn't see 'FrogNet' like all my wireless devices do.  It just indicates that this is part of a generic network.   Ideas?  (All computers run Win7.)

  • My HP OfficeJet Pro 8500a Plus won't print. Paused queue cannot resume. 'Doctor' fails to solve.

As a Windows 7 Admin user I can print to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500a Plus but other users cannot. Their prints go into the 'Print Queue' and neither Resume or Restart will work. Resume merely deletes it from the queue and Restart does nothing.
Print and Scan Doctor doesn't resolve the problem. It refers to the 'stuck queue' and restarts the computer. Even then it does nothing to solve the problem.
There appear to be many instances of this problem on searching the Internet, most suggesting highly complex solutions. Surely it shouldn't be that difficult to solve.

It sounds like it could be a permissions user since the admin account has no issue printing to it.
Are the other users printing from the same computer, but different accounts or are they printing to the networked printer from different computers?

  • How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

Thank you for this link! Actually I installed a brand new Windows 8 system in January 2014 and then bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer a few days later. To install this printer I did not use the CD that came with it but already used this link. Just to be sure that I have the latest version I again reinstalled the driver. The result is definitive: You cannot print common photo paper sizes like 4x6,  5x7, 8x10, etc. via a PC using photo SW like HP Photo Creations, MS Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or any other SW on a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. The reason is most likely that HP marketing decided that an Officejet should not be smart enough for photos, after all the company sells also Photosmarts. Because you cannot create your own formats  you are limited by the driver to what is typically available in an office, in this case:  A4, Letter, legal, Statement, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B54 (JIS), Envelopes #10-DL-C5-C6-A2-Monarch, Japanese Postcard, Japanese Envelope Chou #3-#4, L, 2L, O**bleep**u hagaki, Index Card Letter-A4, Edge-to-Edge Letter-A4, Env. Japanese No 3-No 4 and that's it, not more. Thank you anyway for trying to help me but in this case only the SW developers in HP can help.It would be great to be able to print from time to time a 4x6 photo on this printer like I would do.Copying photos on a USB stick or on a SD card first and then use this way to print on the printer is too cumbersome for me.

  • My iPhone and my iPad are connected by wi-fi, but I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC. What can I do?

Hallo, thank you for trying to help. Here is my problem:
In the past, the airprint was possible without problems from iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Since today it doesn't work anymore. My iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 is connected by wi-fi and I can serve in the internet. But I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC.
There are low ink-levels and therefore a message comes to indicate this by printing from PC. iPhone and iPad are accepting the print order without any messages after, but does't excecute the print.
    What can I do?

    Hey helmut,
You can also try the ePrint method listed here if you can't get AirPrint working:
