Hp officejet pro 8600 scanner cut of part of my document

Morning
Need urgent help , I brought this printer for the reason of scanning documents double sided /multi age . When i do it cuts off the bottom of every page , I use this to send legal dcuments to clients so this isnt acceptable . Is there a setting i need to change , These pages are A4 size please help me

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Scanner setup

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Scanner that I cannot setup in my system. I can webscan, but I cannot scan directly from the scanner. It prints and copies just fine, but I cannot scan from the glass or ADF. I don't use the fax option.

I am running Windows 7 - 64 bit. I'm also using a wireless network.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 - scanner issue

I used to be able to send documents through the automatic feed on top. Now when I scan documents it only allows me to lay the document on the glass. It will not automatically feed. When I do put a document up there the scanner thinks it has been scanned because it says that the document has been successfully scanned but it never went though. I checked to make sure nothing was jammed or in the way and that there was not already another paper on the glass to prevent it from feeding through.

I understand that you cannot scan with your HP Officejet pro 8600 through the ADF, and I am happy to help you with this scanning issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself through the ADF.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please go through this guide. The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Does Not Pick Up Paper.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Scanner Software

I am running Windows Vista and just purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer. I am having a hell of a time with this printer and am seriously considering returning it if I can't get this figured out asap.
When I open the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 software, the main panel opens I double click on the "Scanner Actions" button, and then the "Scan Document or Photo" button, nothing happens. I can not get the scanner software to open so that I can control my scan options from the computer.
As well, from the printer control pad, when I go to scan, I am only able to "Scan to Network Folder" and am unable to scan to computer. The message that I am getting is "Computer is Unavailable".
I am able to "Scan to Network Folder" so I am not overly concerned with that issue however, I need to be able to access the scanner software so that I can adjust my scan settings etc on my computer.
I purchase the unit for the wireless. I could not access the software while connected with wireless so I attempted to connect via usb. No difference what so ever.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software 4 times so far. 2 times from the CD and 2 times from the software available on the HP site.

Hey dleman. Sorry to hear your having issues and I appreciate your detailed messages. I would try using the HP Print & Scan Doctor. This tool will try to resolve the issue for you and provide a specific code if it can not resolve the issue.
Let me know how it goes and if it does not solve the issue we can go from there.

HP officejet pro 8600 scanner won't recognize usb drive

I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 running windows system 7 HP desktop. Scannerr transfers scan to computer, but won't recognize USB to receive files; it gets stuck on "insert a memory card or connect a USB sotrage device to USB port
Anybody got a clue?

OfficeJet Pro 8600; scanner not communicating with computer

When I try to scan, it appears as though the OfficeJet Pro cannot communicate with my computer. The computer is connected to the internet, and the OfficeJet Pro is connected, but it won't scan. I have used the Office Jet Pro for these purposes before, and it appears to have stopped working all of a sudden. The error message says "no computer found."

Hi shoffice, and welcome to the HP Forums!
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration. You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Margins on print copies from HP Officejet Pro 8600 Printer are not aligned with original document

My HP Office ject Pro 8600 Printer is not printing the same margins as my original document. The left margin on the print copy is 3/4" too far to the right. The margin on the right is too far right and the text is being printed off the page! The problem seemed to start when I loaded Avery Labels to print. I run a non-profit and need to make copies asap for a sponsorship letter for a fundraising event.

Have you tried doing the firmware update for the printer? The firmware update
Fix/Enhancements are as follows.
1) Enhance ePrint Diagnostic report for ePrint Setup
2) Improve ease of wireless setup
3) Enhanced Embedded Web Services
4) Improve Print Quality
5) Improve Ink Usage
6) Improve paper path performance
7) Improve Digital scan performance
To check the version of your current printer firmware:
Printer Information Screen
1. From the Control panel, press Help (?) button, select Printer Information
2. Use the down arrow button to scroll to the 2nd screen
3. The current firmware revision will appear on the screen
If you do not have Version CLP1CN1322CR you need the update.

Officejet Pro 8600 scanner not working!

We have just got a new Officejt Pro 8600 printer in the office and I do a lot of scanning, however, it doesn't always work! I would say it works perhaps 2 times out of 10? It comes up with an error message of 'Scanner lid or Document Feeder open', despite a few pages going through, or me previously successfully managing to scan. Help - it's driving me crazy!!!

The two metal clips under the document feeder are not holding it down far enough. If you lift the adf you can see them underneath one on the front one on the back. Putting a bit of left pressure (towards the left side of the machine) on both clips bends them slightly this will hold the adf cover down tighter and the machine will now see it as closed.
I have fixed over 30 machines doing this.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Scanner Question

As title states, I have a 8600... I scan hundreds of documents a day into PDF format. Right now the only way I see doing this is by placing an individual sheet in the scanners top tray then scanning it using the screen... What I want to do is put say 10 to 20 sheets in the tray at time, then scan.. but have each sheet become it's own PDF.. .not one long PDF with 10 to 20 pages...
Is this possible with this scanner?

I understand you are looking to complete a multiple page scan and have each page save as an individual file on it's own. This is an option you can change within the printer software in the advanced options.

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, printing from web cuts everything off on right side

Hello,
I am having a problem with my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus cutting of everything ont he right-hand side of my pages when i print anything from the internet.
I am currently using Windows 7 and I am printing from Firefox.
I use Gmail and anything I print from there does the same thing. I see on several other posts here that they tell people to go to the File menu and choose preferences, but when printing from Gmail, I do not see anywhere that has a drop-down File menu to choose from. I also see several people saying to choose landscape orientation to print, however it still cuts off the right side when I choose the landscape option.
When I print from Gmail I am just hitting the printer icon on the upper right corner of the email itself (when you put your mouse over the icon it says "print all"), or I click on the drop-down menu under that icon and choose "print".
When I am trying to print some web pages, I can hit the download arrow to the right of the google search box and then print the downloaded page instead. This usually corrects the problem, but sometimes when I try to download a page, it says there is nothing to download.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!

Since the issue only occurs when you print from Firefox, I feel it would be most beneficial if you reach out to Mozilla.
You might first consider resetting Firefox print settings; Fix printing problems in Firefox.

Multi page scanning on Officejet Pro 8600 with flatbed

I had to replace a 6400 series HP multi process with a HP Officejet Pro 8600. With the old software it would ask if there were any more pages when using the flatbed scan option. I can't figure out how to do this using the new software and it automatically creats the file after 1 page. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,You may scan multiple pages from the Flatbed glass by using the HP Scan software. Open the HP Officejet Pro 8600 software and click the Scan a document or photo option.Select PDF, ensure the Show Preview box is checked and the resolution being set as 300 dpi or below. Macbook Pro running Maverick doesn't recognize Officejet Pro 8600 Plus as a scanner

I am a new user to the Macbook, transitioning from Windows. I started with a preexisting Offciejet Pro 8500 but couldn't get it to work and discovered there were no Maverick drivers. I then bought and installed the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus wirelessly. I downloaded the HP software package for Mac. I can print. I can scan from the printer to the computer. I can use the HP Scan utility (although the HP apps folder also contains the 8500 apps and I'm not sure which is which). However, under System Preferences Printers and Scanners it only lists the 8600 as a printer and faxer; it does not appear under Scanner. And I cannot access it using PDF Converter for Mac, either. And it refuses to scan an entire legal page, stopping at the letter page limits, whether I use the document feeder or just place it on the glass.
( I also cannot figure out how to set up Network scanning - it asks for a folder address and I am not familiar with iOS nomenclature.)

Officejet Pro 8600 Plus N911g - scanning stalls part way through

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus N911g. When I try to scan a large number of documents from the printer to my computer, the printer stalls part way through. Today I had a stack of 45 pages that needed to be scanned. I loaded them into the document feeder on the top of the printer, hit "Scan", "To Computer", chose my computer from the list, "Save as pdf" and start scan.
The printer started scanning, got through about 30 pages and then just froze up. The display screen showed "Now Scanning". I let it sit for over a half an hour, but it did not resume. The only way to get out of the stalled scanning was to turn off the printer and restart it.
This has happened multiple times. Is there a limit on the number of documents that can be scanned at a time?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
In my experience the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus would be best suited to scan such a large amount using the software provided. The printer has a internal memory of 128 MB, that will fill up very fast when scanning into the computer.
I would recommend opening HP Scan on the computer, select .PDF and scan the pages this way. It will still feed from the Automatic Document Feeder and also save all pages to a single file when done.
If you need a hand scanning using the software, replay back with the Operating System installed on your computer, Windows or Mac.

Officejet Pro 8600 Plus prints part of page and quits

My brahd-new Officejet Pro 8600 Plus prints part of page and quits. The manual said to clean the print heads and align the printer. I did both of those. It made the problem worse. I'm printing on photo paper - HP Premium Plus. It happens about 1/2 the time.

I would like to begin with a few questions,
Does this happen when you copy a photo, or only when you print form the computer?
Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or a surge protector?
What operating system and version is on the computer?
Is the printer connected to the computer with a USB cable or wirelessly?
If you have a WIndows operating system please download and install the latest firmware version for the printer. HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware.
If you are using a surge protector, I suggest disconnecting and connecting the power directly to a wall outlet.
