HP Officejet Pro 8610 will not install on Windows 2003 Server 32 bit.

When installing the 8610 with the disk, at the end it states and error occurred during the installation of the device.  The specified module could not be found.
When I install using the downloaded drivers,  after the files extract and the program connects to the printer, when I hit Continue a screen pops up and states  the operating system of this computer is not supported...   even though the 2003 Windows server is on the list.   Is there anything I can do to install the drivers?  All I need is basic printing .   I'm about ready to pack it up and return it... which means the other printers will have to be returned because I like them all to be the same.
Please help.

Hi,
Follow the steps below to install the software using an MSIEXEC command, the installation should not be done using the installer as any clieant operating system.
The steps below are also applicable for installing the 8610 on a server OS:

  • CS3 will not install on Windows 7, 64-bit. No error message. Just stops installing.

CS3 will not install on Windows 7, 64-bit. No error message. Just stops installing. This is a brand new machine. This is one of the first things I'm installing on it. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The disks are fine. I have the programs installed on my two XP machines. When I run the disk, I get the window pop up that says "Initializing Installation for Adobe Creative Suite 3". Then the disk stops spinning and nothing else happens. No error message. Nothing else happens. I'm baffled. I have searched several discussion boards and cannot find anybody that has had a similar install issue like this.

Old_Timer I would recommend reviewing your install logs to determine the exact error message.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the logs at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610 Will Not Print

I have a new Officejet Pro 8610 which has been working fine but today it would not print. Everyting else still worked, the printer is detected by USB and all of the cleaning/ alignment procedures work from my PC as normal. Scaning a document worked OK as well. I tried to run a test print from the printer list on windows, this didn't work either. So I uninstalled the supplied software and reinstalled it again, still would not print. At this point I installed the software on my old laptop and connected if by USB again and it worked fine, printed straight away. The only difference in the install was when selecting which additional programmes to install, one said it was already installed even though I had unistalled the software before. That programme was the Product Improvement Study which I can't get rid of. Everytime it is still there. Is this causing my problems and how do I get it off my PC as I am unable to find it anywhere to remove it. Any help would be appreciated.

no one answered this questio for me or even gave me advice....
I got it to print from explorer but not chrome .So for some reason it decided to stop printing from chrome all on its on.Not sure how long it ill print from ie but we'll see .thanks for no advice

  • Officejet Pro 8610: Will not Auto Answer

Evening all.  We just purchased two HP Officejet Pro 8610's and have set them up at the office, however, we have noticed that even though we have the Auto Answer feature enabled, neither machine is automatically answering.  Instead they are still requiring a manual "yes, go ahead and answer that" button press which does not work for us as we often do not have people around those machines.
In running a Fax Test Report I got the following print-out...

    Hi RandyT9,
I believe it is related to distintive ring setting. Have you tried to set the Distinctive Ring feature to All Rings and see if the printer can answer it automatically?
If you using distintive ring  service, please refer to User manual on the distinctive ring setting.
If you are not using a distinctive ring service, check to make sure that the Distinctive Ring
feature on the printer is set to All Rings.
    Hope this may helps.

  • Will not install in Windows 7 64 bit

Downloaded SafariSetup.exe but it will not install. Clicking on it results in message: "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are running." I need Safari to run WebKit. Is there a Safari that will run on my computer? OR is there another browser in which to run WebKit?

Yeah, I think it falls into the same category of problems as "not a valid win32 application", "invalid signature", and "unknown publisher" messages ... usually all of which relate to installers getting damaged on the download.
At any rate, I'm glad you got things working again.

Your printer software did not install successfully. You may have seen an error similar to one of the following:
    "Device setup failed to complete"
    "Unknown device"
A red X displays after connecting the USB cable
On the following screens, you will find troubleshooting solutions that our support agents have found to be the most helpful to resolve install errors. To begin troubleshooting, click Begin USB Troubleshooting, below.
Uninstall the HP software, run Microsoft Fix it, disable startup services, and reinstall the software
This solution consists of multiple steps. Make sure you complete each step before continuing to the next one.
    Uninstall the HP software

Disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Click here to open the list of currently installed programs.
+ Button didn't work? Click here for instructions.
Point to or tap the upper-right corner of the screen to open the Charms bar, and then click or tap the Search icon.
Type control panel in the Search (Windows 8.1) or Search Apps (Windows 8) box.
Click or tap the Control Panel icon.
    The Control Panel window opens.
Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

On the taskbar, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    The Control Panel window opens.
    Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the list of installed programs, click your HP printer name, and then click UninstallChange/Remove.
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the software removal.

If the uninstaller asks you to remove shared files, click No. Other programs that use these files might not work if you delete the files.
You may be prompted to restart your computer.
    Note
After the restart, this troubleshooter will open and return to this page automatically.
Click Next Step below to continue with the next step in the solution.
Uninstall the HP software, run Microsoft Fix it, disable startup services, and reinstall the software Run the Microsoft Fix it troubleshooter to reset the registry entries

Click here to open the Microsoft support solution:
If you like, review the information on the Microsoft web page.
We recommend that you click Run now in the Microsoft Fix it section to fix the problem.
Follow the onscreen instructions in the Microsoft wizard:
On the Are you having a problem installing or uninstalling a program? screen, click Uninstalling.
On the Select the program you want to uninstall screen, scroll through the list of programs and choose the entry for your HP printer series, and then click Next.
When the Microsoft wizard completes, you will be prompted to restart your computer. Click Yes to restart.
    Note
After the restart, this troubleshooter should open and return to this page automatically. If it does not open by itself, open it manually after the restart.

Click Next Step below to continue with the next step in the solution.
Uninstall the HP software, run Microsoft Fix it, disable startup services, and reinstall the software Reinstall the HP software
Now that your system is updated, try installing the HP software again.
    Turn your printer on.
If you are using a USB connection, disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Reinstall the software using the CD that came with the printer, or download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from the HP web site (recommended):
Click here to go to the HP Printer Install Wizard download page.
Follow the directions to download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard.
Follow the onscreen instructions to download the printer software for your version of Windows.
The HP Printer Install Wizard downloads and starts the software installation.
    Note
A full Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 printer software install may not be available for all products. Click here to find out if a Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 download is available for your printer.
Follow the onscreen instructions, making sure to proceed all the way through the installation without canceling or exiting any screen.
    Note
Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted, or an install error may occur. Also, if your software is still not finding your printer over the USB connection, review the following USB tips.
    + USB tips
Ensure that your USB cable is no more than 5 meters (16.4 feet) in length. (For best results, use a cable that is less than 2 meters (6 feet) in length.)
Try connecting the USB cable to a different USB connector on the computer. (For example, if you plugged the cable into a front USB port, try plugging it into a port in the back.)
If the USB cable is connected to a USB hub or a docking station for a laptop, it could cause the installation to fail. Even if you believe that your USB hub works fine, try connecting the USB cable directly to the computer during the device installation (when prompted). You can always move it back to the USB hub later.
If you need to use a USB hub, use one that is externally powered instead of using a non-powered hub.
When the installation completes, try using your printer.
    Turn your printer on.
If you are using a USB connection, disconnect the USB cable from both your printer and computer (if it is currently connected).
Reinstall the software using the CD that came with the printer, or download and install the latest version of the software for your printer from the HP web site (recommended):
Click here to go to the HP Support & Drivers web page.
Select the option to download drivers and software, and then type the name of your printer in the search box.
For example, type HP Photosmart B211.
Follow the prompts and make selections to display the software and drivers for your printer.
When prompted, select the appropriate version of Windows, to view the driver download and CD ordering options.
    Tip
If you're not sure whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit, click the Is the Windows version on my computer 32-bit or 64-bit? link on the page for help.
If given a choice, select the full feature software and drivers link.
This option may appear in an area labeled Drivers.
When prompted, click Save, and download the software to your desktop or a folder where you can easily find it.
Start the HP software installation by running the install program that you downloaded.
Follow the onscreen instructions, making sure to proceed all the way through the installation without canceling or exiting any screen.
    Note
Some printer models require a USB connection during the install. If you are prompted by the software, connect the USB cable. • ITunes 64 bit will not install on Windows 7 (64-Bit)

I downloaded the 64bit version if iTunes (itunes64setup.exe), and when I went to install it, it went through most of the installation procedure and it stated that I should "download the 64 bit version of the iTunes software" (which as I said before, I already did).
I did the "delete the temp folder" bit, and that did not help. I would like to be able to just update my iPhone from anything other than my Netbook. So what should I do. A nice set of "step by step" instructions would help.
I already searched the "Support" section, and I could not find ANYTHING on the 64 bit version of iTunes. So I followed every instruction on "problems with installing iTunes" that related to the 32 bit just to make sure.
So basically, the "64 bit software" is reading like it is the "32 bit software" and I have downloaded the software and re-downloaded it 3 more times. Same problem each time.

Same problem for me. iTunes 64bits instlls well up to 80% of the process.
then it says that some software components are missing.
I was never able of completing my iTunes installation (on my new computer).
earlier versions are no longer available and the iTunes for 32bits isn't accepted by Windows 7 64 bits.
Can anyone at Apple explain what this is ?
Has anyone experienced the same problem ?

    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1572880&tstart=0
EXCEPT that after trying EVERYTHING rmurtagh did, I STILL had no success. Specifically, when I try to install iTunes, I get the error "Service 'iPod Service' (iPod Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services." and when I try to change anything using services.msc, I get the error, "The system cannot find the file specified." PLEASE HELP!!

when I try to change anything using services.msc, I get the error, "The system cannot find the file specified." PLEASE HELP!!
Are you getting that if you try to manually restart the iPod Service in Services.msc?
If so, do you get an error message number with the message? If so, what number is it?
