HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer Squeak

Just purchased an HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer,
Model A7F65A, 13 days ago. I have not used it too much, and
it's already squeaking when I scan pages from the top loader.
Not sure if there is an easy solution or if I have to return it?
Any suggestions?

Thank you. In fact, I did speak to a very friendly and helpful representative at HP. Bottom line, I returned the printer to Staples, where I bought it, and they happily gave me a new printer in the box. After I set it up and use it for a few days and will report back IF I experience a similar issue. For now, I am VERY pleased with both HP and Staples.Thank you. [Smile]

I have an 8620 HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer It is connected via wireless set-up, with excellent signal strength. It is incredibly slow to print anything, especially PDF files that have graphics in them. I have the latest software installed, latest firmware updates. I have even uninstalled and re-installed, the issue is still there. This is an incredibly crap product, so I'd like to get this issue solved ASAP. Thanks,Brian

For example: printing http://www.nytimes.com/images/2015/07/04/nytfrontpage/scan.pdf Quickly goes 7.03mb/of 7.03mb... then just swirls the "printing" status on the printer's LCD screen, and takes 5 minutes to print...

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One printer - N911a - Cannot scan

    Hi Support,
I am getting very frustrated with my new printer. Now I have searched this forum and tried this and that, installed and uninstalled and run misc. HP tools, still I cannot use the "HP Scan" program from the PC and also not the "Scan to Computer" option from the printer.
I get an error message saying that "HP Officejet Pro 8600 was not found".
I am able to scan to a networkfolder - and printing is also possible.
I have activated every setting in the EWS admin module to be sure.
I have checked that these services are running (was mentioned in another support ticket):
     - Remote Procedure Call RPC .
     - DCOM Server Process Launcher
     - RPC Endpoint Mapper
     - Shell Hardware Detection
     - Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)
and they are - so that is not the problem.
When I run the "HPPIW.exe" (Printer Install Wizard) downloaded from support - it says that the full installation is there except the drivers.
    System info:
    HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One printer - N911a
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Product CD - holds driver version 24.2.0 ( which also is the latest version that I can download.)
Please someone help me, I was expecting to be able to use the product that I bought ;O)
    Thanks,

    Hi fogh,
Make sure that the firmware is the most current version, and then install the printer using the software from the link below. If you still have an issue I would suggest installing the printer on a different computer to help isolate the problem. Let me know what you find out?

  • Officejet Pro 8500 A909g All-in-One series, Printer Won`t print

The printer will not print from my computer running windows 7- 64bit.  I am connected wirelessly through a Lynksys router with both the computer and printer, Howerver; I cannot get the printer to print from the computer. I have tried reinstalling the software from the cd that came with the printer and I also downloaded and installed the most up-to-date software and  drivers from the HP site. Occasionally the printer will print out a job, but only when the computer is shutdown and restarted or sometimes after sitting in queue for a long period of time, but neither of these always work. I`m stumped.....

    Hi FGG,
I understand you're missing a driver for your Officejet Pro 8500 printer. I'd be happy to help you with this!
If you click here you can download the full software package for your printer, including the drivers. Just click next when the page loads (it should be able to detect your operating system) and then scroll down to where it says Driver - Product Installation Software, and proceed to download the HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver. I recommend saving it to your computer to make things easier as well.
If this was not what you're looking for please let me know more specifically what the issue is.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-all-in-one printer & dual band router

Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to confirm whether this printer is compatible with my router which is a dual band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I am not able to connect it to the internet. The box says that the printer is compatible only with 2.4 GHz routers. Would the fact that my router is dual band mean that it will not work with the printer?

Hello @JMHouston , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are looking into your options for a dual band router.  I would love to help.
The printer will only connect to a 2.4 GHz broadcast.  To quote this document on Print | Rate this content HP Printers - Tips and Workarounds for Common Wireless Network Printer Iss...
Dual band routers provide both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHZ frequency ranges. HP printers connect to the 2.4GHz frequency band and the 20 MHz bandwidth only. Many dual band routers let devices connected to the 2.4 GHz band communicate with devices connected to the 5.0 GHz band. But not all routers support this feature.
To manage the different bands and what devices connect to each, try assigning a unique SSID (network name) to each band. For example, name the 2.4 GHz band to “Mynetwork” and the 5.0 GHz band to “Mynetwork-5G”.
Communication and connectivity issues might occur with the printer connected to the 2.4 GHz band and the computer connected to the 5 GHz band. Try connecting the computer to the 2.4 GHz band.
As long as your router is broadcasting both network channels, you should have no issue connecting.

  • How do I remove the Output Tray of my HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

I cannot remove the Output Tray.  I do some printing two-sided (one in color, the other b&w).  Removing the Main Input Tray to place the paper for Side 2 is time-consuming.  It would be much easier to take the just-printed Side 1 as it's completed, then simply lay it correctly on top of the blank sheets in the Main Input Tray to print Side 2. I am unable to remove the Output Tray.  The store's salesman said it should be easy to remove and re-install, but that it may held in place by a piece of tape. I am prone to breaking things I'm trying to work on.  I don't want to break my 4-months old printer! Any ideas?  Thanks.

The main part of the output tray is not removable.  There are a few alternatives:  the input tray can be pulled partially open and the printed pages loaded in it - it should not be necessary to remove the input tray completely. The other possibility would be to just print using the automatic duplexer.  If you are printing on plain paper or index paper this should work, it would not be suitable for printing on the back side of photo paper.

  • Addressing the inserted memory card HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

I upgraded to this printer from a 6500A Plus which allowed the SD card to be accessed with I.E. via the printer's IP address followed by "memory_card"  The full syntax in my situation was http://192.168.0.111/memory_card  The problem is that doesn't work on the 8500, and neither do other permutations I tried such as "memory", "memorycard", "SD" etc. Does anyone know what syntax works on the 8500, does anyone know why it can't be the same syntax for all? The setup and user's guide didn't touch this topic on the 6500 and neither do they on the 8500, and it's not in the extended FAQ's on the 8500, apparently I'm the only one asking, and my need is not that uncommon. Thanks in advance for your help. Dean

If you prefer to connect to the memory card in the printer from a DOS prompt ( cmd ) you can try the following
    c:\ net use x: \\ipadress\memory_card
in my case it looked like this
    c:\ net use z: \\192.168.1.10\memory_card
you might want to type the following command line first to be sure the drive letter you choose to use is not already being used.
    c:\ net use
This should list all the file shared already connected to your PC

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a, options for printing envelopes

I use the American Greetings program to print out cards & envelopes.  when I try to print a greeting card size A9 envelope it is not a supported size in the dropdowns for paper size or media selection.  I can get the envelope to print with no problem but it does not print the text or picture on the envelope correctly.  Why isn't an A9 envelope supported in the dropdowns?

    Hi BH1969,
I understand you are trying to print on an A9 sized envelope. To answer your question as to why the A9 is not listed as an available option, A9 is not a supported paper size.
Found on the Product specifications Page.
As you can see by the chart above, the A9 is not a supported envelope size, thus it will not be found in the drop down options.
I hope this answers your inquiry.

  • Officejet Pro 8620 All in One Will No Longer Scan in Color

    Hello,
I have an Officejet Pro 8620 all in one.  I was scanning a few items last night and the first few items came out in color fine. Then all of the sudden as I continued to scan the next few images would only scan in black and white.  I cannot seem to get the scanner to scan in color again.  How can I fix this?  I did not change any settings or anything while I was scanning so I do not know why the sudden change to black and white?  I am on a Mac computer with all newest operating system etc.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi there
I have some more suggestions for you to try. Please try them in order I have written them in.
    Reset the printing system
    Repair disk permissions
    Restart the Mac
Install the Full Feature Driver here: HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers
In addition, download this Apple driver: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X
    That should do the trick!

  • Officejet Pro 8620 All in One installation

This is a nightmare. I have installed dozens of printers over the years but never one this difficult. We have a wired network with one server and 4 dell clients. After much difficulty - uninstlling, shutting down start up items, disabling services re-installing drivers and hours of looking for solutions on the net, I finally got the Windows 8.1 Dell all in one to work with the printer. Had to go through the same process, several times, to get the Dell 8.1 laptop to work with the printer. The Dell Vostro Windows 7 machine worked pretty well straight away. The 4th machine a pretty new Dell desktop, Windows 8.1 just refuses to play the game. I have used all of the HP troubleshooters, the Microsoft Fix It uninstall, cleared temp files, uninstalled many times, reinstalled many times and followed everything I could find on the Dell and HP sites but this thing will not connect. The desktop finds the printer on the network no problem. It starts the install, the icon appeare in printers and devices briefly (hover over icon - "driver unavailable") and after about 5 minutes the icon disappears and you get the - screen with the printer and the computer and a big red X on the connection. The message reads "Unsuccessfrl Network Installation" - " The printer was unable to be installed over the network." I have used both the CD's provided with the printer and the HP download at various and numerous times but still no go. Just don't know where to go from here. I have never had a problem installing any printer before. This is a nightmare that I have spent at least 20 hours working on.

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, and thanks for posting! I can certainly understand your frustration with this installation issue, and I would like to help. If I understand correctly, you are having an issue installing your HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One printer over a wired network, on your Windows 8.1 desktop. What I suspect, is that it has something to do with the driver on your computer. Windows 8 has an annoying habit of installing multiple instances of your printer's driver. For example, even if you have installed the printer with the full HP software, because the Operating System can see the printer wirelessly, it may automatically install a driver from Windows update as well. So here's what I suggest we do; Let's check your printer's folder for multiple "HP Officejet 8620" icons. From your desktop, either swipe right to open the charms bar, or press Win key + C on your keyboard.Select settings from the bar on the right.Select Control PanelUnder Hardware and Sound, Select Devices and Printers. Let's remove all the software and start fresh. Right click on each icon you see for your 8620 (even if there is only one) and select Remove Device, or Delete. Once the printer has been removed, we want to do a cleanboot of the computer. This will turn off any non-essential programs that boot up when you start your computer (so if there is something installed that is hindering the installation, this should bypass it). You can follow the steps here to do a cleanboot -  How to perform a clean boot in Windows  Once the computer has restarted, download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard. It'll automatically detect your product and install the most recent driver package available from HP. Please respond to let me know if we have resolved the issue!Keeping my fingers crossed.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 Scan to Email Function

HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 is a great value for all the features it provides. "Scan to Email" was one of the reasons i bought this printer. Even though i can make this fucntion work with my gmail and iCloud emails, i feel very uncomfortable in providing those emails credentials while setting up this funciton.
    1) Does the printer store the user name/password encrypted?
    2) Does EWS encrypt the password while sending it to SMTP service?
    3) Does HP provide SMTP service with HP Connected or HP Support Forum (this forum!) credentials. I will feel more comfortable in using HP's username/password for this service than GMail or Apple

    Hi,
If I remember correctly, the printer should offer you to save the email address to the adress book while scanning to email, I do not have any acces to the printer correctly to ensure that.
Additionally to add email addresses to the Email Address Book, complete the following steps:
    1. Open the embedded web server (EWS) by clicking Printer Home Page (EWS from teh HP Officejet Pro 8620 software Or
by browsing the printer IP from your browser (Click he Ethernet or Wireless icon on the bottom of the screen to see it.)
    2. On the Scan tab, click Email Address Book.
    3. Click New to add a single email address.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions. The entry is added to the Email Address Book.
You may add up to 15 email addresses.

    Hello @Kennynic!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I would be happy to provide some help regarding your Officejet 8620 and installing the software on the Mac.  The first thing I suggest is to ensure all the HP Software is removed from the Mac. I suggest uninstalling the HP Software.  After the software is uninstalled I recommend performing a "repair disk permissions" on your Mac. A repair disk permissions is a utility built in the Mac operating system designed to locate and resolve issues or errors that may cause complications when re-installing. After the repair disk permission is complete restart your Mac and try adding the printer again.
To uninstall the HP Software click here: Uninstalling HP Software
To perform a repair disk permission click here: Performing a Repair Disk Permission
There is only software available for Mac 10.10.  Unfortunately there is no full feature software and driver available for Mac 10.7.  You should still be able to add the printer using the AirPrint drivers.  Go into System Preferences from the Apple icon and click on printer and scanner.  In the printer and scanner window click the add printer icon and you should be able to add the 8600 printer via Wi-Fi and AirPrint.
I recommend checking for software updates on the Mac. To check for software updates click the "apple" icon at the to left and click on "software update".  Install any HP or printer updates. After any updates you should restart the computer. and try printing.
Please post back and let me know how everything goes!

I've done that a hundred times..   I went throught the Wi-Fi wizard & set it up again....I've  "Restored Network Defaults" again... Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums!I hope you have a pleasant experience here. I'd like to help you with the issue you are having connecting your HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One printer to the internet. I can see that you have done a lot of the preliminary troubleshooting already. I have a few other suggestions to get your web services back up and running properly. First, I'd recommend downloading the most recent firmware for you product.HP Officejet Pro 8620/8625 e-All-in-One Printer Firmware Update If the web services still will not connect after the update, try setting a manual DNS. Set a Manual DNS for Your Printer: 1. Obtain your printer's IP address      a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser on your computer.3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.4. On the left select networking.5. Select Network Address (IP)6. Select Manual DNS Server      a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8      b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.47. Select Apply. You might get a warning just select okay. I look forward to hearing back from you, and working toward a resolution for your issue! Thanks for posting.

I have taken a screen shot from my HP Scan (on a Windows PC), there should be the option to change the file type to a TIFF file if the Everyday Scan is selected. See what I had highlighted in yellow below. Ignore the red arrow to scan as a PDF file.
