HP Officejet Pro X476dw ink cartridge failure

I have a new HP Officejet Pro X476dw . It gives me Ink Failure for the four cartridges when I shut it down and turn it on the next day it starts to print but after a while it gives the same message . and so on I check the cartridge when it is working , it is already full of ink .
it is the ink which come with the printer in the shop they told me it shoud print at least 2000 pages using those inks .

@ SMOKEY DOG  -  I will need a little more information in order to help out. Do you have the same printer as the one listed in the title? Are you using genuine non refilled ink cartridges is the device?  Do you have the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet to ensure that it is getting the proper amount of power? If the printer is not getting enough power, that can cause the printer to produce erroneous error messages.

  • HP Officejet Pro L7780 ink cartridges leaking

The printer says I need to replace cartridges even though I already did. I discovered the ink is running throughout the printer, over the mother board and out the power supply connection. Has any one else had this problem?

  • HP officejet Pro L7580 ink cartridge problem

I have read some other posts from people that seem to be having this same problem, but have not seen any answers on how to fix it.  I have recently bought a new ink cartridge that contains both the black and yellow ink.  When I put the new cartridge in the message center displays that the ink is still empty.  This is a printer that i use at work and it is becoming very frustrating, especially when I am trying to print and it won't let me because it thinks the ink is empty. Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think there are any ink cartriges for this printer that contain yellow and black ink.  This printer has 4 "ink cartriges" for black, magenta, yellow and cyan.  It also has two replacable "print heads" which are only responsible for depositing the ink on the paper.  These replacable print heads each do two colors and black/yellow is one of them so it sounds like you probably bought a replacement head instead of replacement ink.  You need to buy this type of cartrige:

  • HP OFFICEJET PRO x476dw/X576dw ink expiration?

Anyone know if the new officejet pro x476dw/x576dw series printers have expiration periods on their installed ink cartridges?
I am considering the model as home office laser replacement.  My printing workload is unusall in that it is infrequently heavy.  I am after a durable device and this option provides a route away from toner dust and a cleaner home office environment.
    Thanks.

The inks in this printer do not expire. Here is HP's official statement on ink 'expiration': Ink Expiration - none of the Officejet Pro X-series printers are listed. The date on the ink cartridge is the date the warranty ends. The printer will stop when an ink cartridge runs out of ink.

  • Hp officejet pro x476dw MFP - making awful noises

We purchased a hp officejet pro x476dw printer after alot of research and lengthy discussions with HP Canada to determine the best printer which would meet our needs.  We purchased it Oct 2014 and it quite working April 2015. We had not purchased the extended warranty. The printer makes an awful noise and then freezes and will not allow a restart.  We are unable to get it to power off using the on/off button and must then just unplug it.  After letting it sit for a period of time to "empty it's memory" we plug it back in and let it do its restart, which takes a very long time.  Then it recognizes it was not shutdown correctly and gives us a warning message. What we have noticed is sometimes the print tray with the ink cartridges seems to get stuck mid position and no matter what we do it will not move.  Then there are times we cannot get the ink cartridges to engage - they remain in the ejected position.  Even if we take them all out and reinsert them there is no guarentee that this problem will not reoccur. If we bypass paper tray 2 and use tray 1 (the manual bypass) we can get it to print sometimes but the print quality is absolutely unreadable.  And this is after we have completed numerous cleaning cycles. I have a 4 sec video clip of the noise.  It sounds like gears grinding. Can anyone please offer some insight? SincerelyAl3201

  • Printhead issues with HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP

I have a HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP at my home office that I use for when I work from home. The printer was purchased about 8 months ago but get very little usage as its just used by me a couple of days a week at most when I stay home and work. I freezes once in a while like I seen other people complain about but today a whole section of the printheads stopped working completely, there are no streak just a white stripe going down all my documents. I tried cleaning the print heads and then it gave me an error telling me to restart the printer. I did and re ran the printhead cleaning utility. It finished the second time but when the report page printed out it was still the same. I think that the print head on that part of the paper migh have just died. This is really annoying since my last HP Printer was still going strong about 10 years after I purchased it and this one that I paid top dollar in comparison to my other options is pretty much useless after exactly only 2016 printed pages, I just replaced the first black cartridge last week. Has this happened to any body else, is there a way to fix it? The image below is the printout i got after the printhead cleaning showing the write stripe I get on every document I print or copy.

Printhead bar faulty.,Remove back cover, refix print head bar flex cables & try for luck...submit in HP authorised service center for print head bar replacement..

  • HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP switches itself on

My Officejet Pro X476dw MFP just switched itself on.  It has been off for a few days; not sleeping, off.  I waited for it to do something, but it did nothing.  So I started the HP Utility to check whether the settings that govern sleeping and turning off and on had been changed.  They hadn't.  A few minutes later the printer seemed to be preparing to print something.  It displayed a message, "Preparing n ...", where n counteed down to zero, and then the paper door opened but nothing came out.
Is this expected behavior?  The printer's firmware is up-to-date.  It is running in a Mac environment, connected wirelessly to an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station with a fixed IP address.  Two MacBook Pro's running OS X 10.9.5 and an iPad 3 and an iPhone 4S running iOS 8.3 are also connected wireless to the AEBS.
    Thanks,
    Richard

  • Officejet pro x476dw legal sized paper adf scan

    Hi,
I have been using officejet pro x476dw for 6months, and I figured out that I can't scan 2-sided legal sized document.
Is it impossible to scan 2-sided legal size documents on ADF?
Do I have to scan them MANUALLY?
If this machine doesn't support 2-sided legal paper scanning, is there any other ways to make this work easy?
I often have to scan over 40 pages with 2-sided legal sized paper..
    Please help me out experts....TT
I heard, Ricoh and Canon offer some drive to make it possible using software..
Does HP offer this kind of software too?...TT

The tray can be extended for legal size paper.  Remove the tray and note the blue release lever on the left side.  Releasing this lever will allow expanding the tray to legal size.  After expanding the tray move the center slider to provide appropriate alignment of the loaded paper.

  • Officejet Pro X476dw MFP not reachable

    Hi,
out of the blue my Officejet Pro X476dw MFP turned 'not reachable' from my MacBook. Device is still connected to my Wifi network, no changes there since last use. I can print ok from my iPhone. I turned the device off and on again - no success. I turned the MacBook off and on again - same. I reconfiguered Wifi connection at device - same. I deleted printer from MacBook and tried to re-add but installation program couldn't find device. I tried to connect manually using IP address that was shown on device - 'device not reachable'.
I am running out of ideas, appreciate any help!
    Thank you!

  • Officejet Pro x476dw MFP

Our Officejet Pro x476dw MFP leaves a line on copied and scanned documents when we place the originals in the feeder.  If we copy or scan from the glass, no lines appear on the copies or scanned documents.  We have cleaned the glass numerous times.  Does not seem to make a difference.

  • Cannot scan or copy with HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw MFP

I purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw MFP a few months ago.  For about 1 month, everything was going great.  Now I cannot scan or copy (although printing from various computers on my home network still works just fine).  Whenever I try to scan (to either a computer on the network or to a memory stick) or a simple copy, the "magic wheel" just keeps spinning and there is a red x on the lower right of the control panel.  Any suggestions?  Calling the HP support desk has been absolutely worthless.  I get put on hold, get transferred 3-5 times, and I literally cannot understand the people I am talking to.

    Hi,
I suggest reading this post and following the same instructions provided orginally, as this is the Consumer Forums!

  • HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP Wireless Connection Lost

    Setup
HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP (hereafter MFP) connected wirelessly to Apple Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS).  Two MacBook Pros (MBP) also connected wirelessly to AEBS.  MFP has been assigned a fixed IP address which has been removed from the AEBS's DHCP range.
    Problem
Sometimes (but not always) when attempting to print while the MFP is sleeping (but blue wireless light is still on) MFP is not visible to the Macs and therefore they cannot print to it.  The HP Utility also fails to find the printer, displaying only the information that seems to be stored in Bonjour.  Once, after an attempt to print resulted in the printer not being found, I tried to turn the MFP off.  Until I canceled the print operation it wouldn't turn off.
I used to have an HP Officejet 6500 with wireless and can recall neither having to assign it a fixed IP address nor experiencing these problems.
Any thoughts?  Do I have a problem that Bonjour and IP are both on?  Is the MFP failing to respond to a wakeup signal from the AEBS?

  • Install OfficeJet Pro X476dw driver on Win 7 Enterprise 64 bit w/o admin rights

    Dear all,
I have an OfficeJet Pro X476dw for my home office and I would like to use this printer on my company PC. Unfortunately the standard Win7 Enterprise 64 bit installation does not come with a set of drivers for the OfficeJet Pro X476dw. Unfortunately my company does not allow the installation of not company certified drivers and they did turn down my request to certify the official HP drivers. Thus my question:
is there any readily built-in driver in Win 7 that could be used to run the OfficeJet Pro X476dw
    Any advice is highly welcome!
    Best Regards,
    Vome

    Thanks Futoji,
Meanwhile I figured out how to solve it for my Win 7 Enterprise 64bit:
    1) download PCL 6 Driver with Installer
    2) Run the installer (which will fail)
    3) get the extracted files (should be in c:\users\<profile name\App Data\Local\temp\<number> (you'll identify it via the most recent date, copy path)
    4) kick-off the printer detection routine using "Add printer" > "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer"
    5) take the printer without port 3911 specification
    6) Select  "Have Disk ..." and provide the driver (paste path)
    7) select HP OfficeJet Pro X476dw MFP PCL 6 driver
    8) test
It did work out for me.
    Best Regards,

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus scanner failure

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus all-in-one. When I first got it, all of the features worked fine: print, scan, and copy. A few weeks ago, it started to not scan or copy, and printer was hit or miss. I have managed to resolve the printing issue, but it still wont scan or copy. I have tried uninstalling the printer both from the hp folder and control panel and then reinstalling the driver (I have the full feature one). I have tried the scan and print doctor, and it doesnt make it past the second step. The error message the printer displays is, "scanner failure: unable to scan, copy, or send a fax." I have also followed the steps to go into services, and both of the necessary dependencies are listed for the WIA, and the RPC and shell hardware are both started. Please help.

    Hello ld2hx,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with scanning, copying and faxing.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please click on the following link for A 'Connection Error' or 'No Computer Detected' Error Message Displays during Scanning.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
