HP OficeJet All-in-One Model 4215V

When I purchased my printer it did not have the capability of two sided printing.  Down the road I had an updated or upgraded driver.  It was wonderful.  At that time I had Windows XP Professional.  I acquired a Dell computer with Windows 7, which automatically loaded my printer, but several options were left out.  Two sided printing, setting up my options on my FAX.  These were the most important to me, but there were some other minor omissions.
I  have removed the printer and then tried to install with the installation disc that came with it
, but Windows 7 refused to cooperate.  Is there anything that can be done.  I don't want a new printer - they are all so big and take up too much space.
Hoping to get some good news.
Jean Harrison

The "marks" on the pastic encoder strip are required for proper operation, if you managed to remove them your printer would require service.

Are you able to start in Recovery mode ?.   OS X: About OS X Recovery
If so, then after the language choice screen, click Utilities at the top of the screen & choose Terminal.
Once Terminal opens, type resetpassword  then press the enter key.
Choose your user from the list & follow the prompts to create a new password. Then restart the computer normally.
This won't allow you to update app store apps which the previous owner bought, but will let you install new software.
Ideally, you'd erase the HD & reinstall OS X yourself : you may be able to do that from Internet Recovery, but may need original install DVDs,
which Apple will usually supply for a small charge, if you call them with the serial number.

  • Have Photosmart Premium All-in-one, model c309a. Will not print a test page as the default printer.

Have gone through all diagnostics offered online by HP, but to no avail.  Am hooked up wirelessly and all connections say OK.  The print queue just keeps building up until i clear it.  Have checked ink cartridges, power reset procedure and also the Embedded Web server, print driver and port, verified that is not paused or offline, restarted the print spooler, checked the software program and removed and reinstalled the HP software.  It just will not print.  Will copy but not print.  Help!!

I have exactly the same problem here.
The printer is connected wirelessly to my router, which is connected with cable to my WinXP computer.
I can see the web server, all pages report everything is normal and ready.
I can ping from my computer to the printer.
I had no success getting the HP software on the CD to install, but the ~ 200 MB download version installed at least. However when the software probes to see what printers are available, it just doesn't see the printer (even though I can access its web server).
I finally got my wife's computer (Win 7 64 bit) to connect, but don't know exactly what I did to make that happen.
I noted that HP has a new version of firmware for the printer, so that will be tomorrow's project.

  • Which wireless all in one printers work best with ipad 4

Please help me decide which wireless all in one printer works best with the ipad 4.  I am looking for better photo printing quality, but not the very best.  I am concerned mainly with being able to set up the printer using only my ipad 4 and wireless router, as I do not own a PC with a cd/rom.  I am also interested in which brand of compatible printers is less expensive to buy ink and paper for.  I would prefer a more compact unit.  Thank you in advance for any advice.

These days I prefer Brother printers. They appear to have engineered their printers with AirPrint as well as OS X compatibility from the start, unlike certain others who appear to have included it as an afterthought.
Brother's models are inexpensive, their ink is also inexpensive and lasts a long time, and their photo quality is at least as good as anyone else's. They have a two year warranty and lifetime free technical support with people who understand Apple.
Read the reviews (Amazon for instance, but be sure to read user reviews on the various manufacturer's websites as well) and decide for yourself.
Brother™ Monochrome Laser Printer and All-in-One models now support AirPrint.
Brother™ Color Inkjet All-in-One units now support AirPrint.
I positively detested every inkjet printer I ever had until I bought the Brother.

  • Printing to an HP OfficeJet T45 all-in-one

I have an older HP all-in-one model (T45) that is hanging off a PC as a shared printer. I have successfully added it on my Mac (10.4.10). I picked the 'best' print driver -- HP OfficeJet 9100 Series PS v3010.107.
I test printed a Pages document but the first page was jibberish followed by multiple blank pages.
Is there a workaround solution so that I can continue to print to this printer? It's a secondary printer in the house but my only color printer.

You have come accross the infamous CUPS driver problem. The network printing protocols in OS X including Windows Printing are provided by CUPS (common unix printing system). Hardly any non-postscript printer drivers (Brother is the exception) work "with" the CUPS system - they are Carbon drivers that bypass CUPS. You need a CUPS driver. I'm pretty sure your model is supported by hpijs, but you should check to be sure:

  • Here to share my experience with my HP All-in-one...not good..Last HP I buy!!

I always thought that HP sold a great product. Around 2 years ago I went out and bought an HP All-in-one Model 6210. Within the first week of purchase I began to get an error, "Carriage Jam." The unit was BRAND NEW!! I called their customer helpline. (That's a good one...helpline...yeh right) I reached a guy in India. I carefully explained my problem to him. How did this "trained professional" choose to help me? He told me that he could sell me another unit, different model of course, at a discounted price! No, I'm not making this up! I have lived with this annoying problem for the past two years or so. Sometimes, I don't get the error, but I usually do. Also, why do these expensive ink cartridges only last around 4-5 weeks? I don't print that much stuff. I really don't! Right now, I can't even use it at all. It just says "Carriage Jam." I press "ok" and the unit makes some noises and things then it says "Carriage Jam." It's caught in a big loop. It won't print! I have no choice but to buy a new one. Can anyone blame me for not wanting to ever buy another HP product after this? Since HP basically blew me off and refused to help me in any way, I tried googling it. I found out this problem is common with this particular model All-in-one. I tried all the tricks that I read about to fix this problem. NONE of them worked! Good Bye HP! You HAVE NOT earned my return business. Rip me off once, shame on you! Rip me off twice, shame on me! Thank you for letting me vent. I feel better having done that....

Well hang on... we're not done yet.  You can make it wireless for about $21 bucks.

  • Wireless All in one not printing

I have a HP all in one model cc335a on a  wireless connector that runs on a dsl line.  I am on a network with my lap top and main desk computer. The printer acts like it is printing and kicks out a blank sheet.  I have reinstalled it a couple of times and cannot get it to print.  The align print function fails when I run it.  after I run it I get a print out in blue without any text.  I have run all the utilities and they all come back as Passed.  I am running windows7 32 bit.

Hi @mtmom  , and welcome to the HP Forums!

  • 8600 all in one won't print or scan documents placed directly on glass?

I have a new Officjet 8600 All In One model N911A.  I can't get it to print or scan a document placed directly on the glass.  It will print and scan using the auto document feeder only.
I am working wirelessly and tried to run the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility but it tells me the printer isn't connected to my computer.  Ugh!
All I wanted to do was copy a page from a magazine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, try installing this firmware. Depending on which OS you have, please select the link below:
    Windows 7
    Windows 8
Try to copy and scan after this update.

  • Old MSI all-in-one wireless connectivity problem

    Hi folks,
Hope someone can help - if only by sending me somewhere else!
I have a reasonably old MSI all-in-one model MS-6633 (NetON AP 1900) which I bought new perhaps 6 or 7 years ago.
I'm running it wirelessly, connected via a TP-Link Powerline Ethernet Adaptor.  My main PC is wired to a TalkTalk modem.
For some reason it's recently been disconnecting itself from the internet, although, by going to 'connect to' I can usually fairly quickly regain the internet connection.
I've spoken to TalkTalk and their tech guy ran 20 minutes of tests - at the end of which he said that there was nothing wrong with my internet connection or any other equipment leading to my PC......so the problem must be in the MSI unit.
Mind you, I don't entirely trust him - would he tell me if I was getting brief disconnections caused by a fault at their end?
He gave me the MSI number (0870 8200 009) - which always comes up with a "we're busy" automated answer - and I don't know what else to do.
Can anyone help; tell me what I need to do, or redirect me to somewhere useful.
    Thank you

Hi there - glad someone cares!!!
Yep - definitely in the UK - whether I like it or not!
Right - O/S is Windows XP Home edition
Automated updates are always turned on....
Connection to the phone line is by router
I considered removing and re-installing the drivers, but thought I'd ask around first.....
Actually, yesterday I did a clean-up which hadn't been done for ages.
The computer concerned is my spare/back-up, which my wife uses at present and I do tend to forget to do any housekeeping on it though, but  ever since I worked it over, (cookies, temp files, etc removed) there's been no problem with the internet connection.
I'm not taking the kudos - I just thought I'd do it and just perhaps, it's solved the problem.
However, if anyone knows of a better way to ensure that the computer remains connected, I'd love to hear from you.

  • I purchased an iMac MC309LL/A model A1311 21.5" All in one computer. I purchased it 8/28/11 and about 2 months ago it started powering down. I called for support and a Apple Customer Support, I did what they said and now it wont turn on at all.

I purchased an iMac MC 309LL/A model A1311 21.5" All in one computer on 8/28/11. The computer stated to shut down on me every once in a while when I was working on it. I called Apple customer support and a rep walked me through deleting all of my cache files saying it was the prooblem. She then had me do a re-install with the installation disc. After doing that she said to turn my computer off then back on and the computer would want to run some updates an to let them run. I was told to call back if there were anymore problems. The computer turned on for a couple minutes then shut down again and won't turn back on at all now. I took it to the Apple store and they told me it was the main board that delivers power to the computer and it whoulld cost about $550 to replace. I have had this computer for 1 1/6 year and hardly use it. My tech told me the same thing happened to his. Doesn't this mean the equipment could be faulty?
Who keeps track of how many of these are having the same problem and when should there be a recall. I have always used Dells at work. The one I have is 6 years old and works great. I have Compaq laptop at home that is almost 7 years old. I have never had a problem like this before and I can't believe that I spent$1300 for a computer that crashed after 1 yr 6 months. What's worse is that it is my first major Apple product other than my iPod Shuffle.

Sorry to hear of your problem, but any hardware in a computer can fail - that includes the hard drive, the logic board, etc, etc. Fortunately, it usually doesn't happen that soon; however, I've read of hard drives failing within 6 months.
So, since you did not purchase the extended Applecare Protection Plan (3 years coverage), you will need to make a decision to repair or sell it as is. I would always purchase 3 year coverage for an all in one or a laptop because repairs are expensive and at least I'd be covered for 3 years.
We can't speculate on whether there should be a recall or not; these forums are for user to user assistance with technical problems. In your case, there is nothing we can help with since you've already gotten a diagnosis.

The fan on my HP Pavilion All-in-One 200-5000 (model #2MD0400F1W) seems to be always running (and it's not quiet). I believe I'm running the latest BIOS and I've already checked to make sure the air vents are clear. I'm not running any memory or processor intensive applications. Any suggestions how to reduce how long and frequently the fan seems to be running? Thanks.

    Hello @jmgoldsmith,
I understand that you are having issues with the fan always running on your HP Pavilion All-In-One 200-5000 Desktop PC. I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer the number you provided is not a product number (example : HP Pavilion All-In-One 200-5000t CTO Desktop PC has a product number of BN997AV). I am linking an HP Support document below that will show you how to find your product number. As well, if you could indicate which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this and the product number I can provide you with accurate information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

I have a HP 6510 All in One printer Model # CQ761A. Using Windows XP.
Power light is on and wireless light is on. When I touch the touch screen there is no response from the printer. The computer and network does not see the printer and power button will not power down the printer. I have to unplug the power from the printer to get it to turn off then on and start working. Works fine for a day or two then back to malfunctioning.
