HP OpticaL USB Mobile Mouse Cotrol Panel error.

I have the HP Optical USBMobile Mouse on an HP DV5T laptop running Vista sp2 ultimate. I have been getting the fillowong erro clicking on the mouse control panel app.:

I tried reinstalling it from the website.I tried to reinstall from disk. I even tried to rebuild the harddrive back to factory image. I even tried installing the mouse on my wife's DV4T laptop. Nothing works. The mouse itself seems to work fine,and the home button pulls up my browser's home page.I cannot change the HP mouse settings. I am assumming that the default Windows mouse driver is being used.Although, why the Home buttom works, (Not standard for a mouse) I have no idea. In device manager the mouse used to show as the HP Optical USB Mobile mouse. Now It only shows" HID-Compliant mouse". When I used to install the update from the HP website,I the mouse applet would also error out. However I found the fix at that time was to run the setup up until just after the files were created in the x86 program files directory,cancelling the setup, and running setup from the 64 bit folder. then the control panel app worked. It seemed that the default x86 driver ( the default driver from the website) was not working but the 64 bit software was working. Now this fix is not working at all.
Any ideas? This has been driving me crazy for ove a month now.

Hp 2.4 ghz wireless optical mobile mouse - back and forward not working

Hello everyone,
I bought an HP 2.4 ghz wireless optical mobile mouse, installed the drivers and sw in the CD that came with it, but I can't get the back/forward functions on the center wheel to work (neither on Chrome nor Windows Explorer).
My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise + SP1 (64-bit).
Could it be a driver/OS issue? Or should it work out of the box and is probably a hardware issue?
I have:
- uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers on the CD;
- uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers on the HP webpage;
- uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers on the HP webpage and then the ones on the CD (which i think made some sort of upgrade on the HP Mouse Suite).
What should I do to get back/forward to work?

Just figured out the left/right arrows on the wheel are for horizontal scrolling only, and not back/forward.
Does HP plan to support the back/forward function in this mouse model? The hardware is there, it's just a matter of drivers.
The issue was solved via remapping the mouse keys with not-HP software. This is something a standard user would probably have trouble doing.
This is an entry level product, but 99% of the mouses I've seen that have center wheel left/right capabilities can be configurated to back/forward.

Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000 issue

My wife has a 4-year old MacBook Pro running 10.6 (can't get her to change...). We recently had to replace her MS Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000--we've both used these for years. We're having an issue with hers...the left button won't go "back" in Safari (or any other program for that matter) and I've tried everything, including assigning the proper keystroke to the button, etc. When I look at her Microsoft Mouse preference panel, it does not show the correct mouse, having an extra button. I've downloaded the latest version of their intellimouse software and it doesn't matter. When I try to get mouse info from the preference panel it tells me it can't see a mouse connected. Anyone got any ideas?

Did you replace the USB receiver as well? The receiver needs to be paired with the new mouse.

Magic Mouse preference panel missing

I just put a magic mouse into operation and while it is "working" it is not doing some things I want it to and I am unable to change any settings because the "Mouse" preference panel has not changed to a dedicated "Magic Mouse" pref panel. All the Mouse pref panel provides is what amounts to a demo of the features of a Magic Mouse. No customization is possible.
I've looked through other posting in this site to no avail. I have read about a conflict with something called USB Overdrive but I am not in possession of that.
Any suggestions?

MS USB wireless mouse working through Intellipoint at startup

I use a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 with my 2009 MBP running OSX Lion. I've installed Intellipoint 8.2 software. Problem: The MBP recognizes the mouse, but doesn't automatically start Intellipoint. I have to remove the USB receiver and plug it back in, and the mouse then works under Intellipoint software and settings. How can I get Lion to get the mouse working under Intellipoint on startup?

Right click and delete both of the yellow mouse HID drivers in device manager. Then do a normal shutdown and Restart with the keyboard using Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Windows Task Manager.

Portege R500 and Toshiba Optical Tilt-Wheel Mouse

I have a problem with my Portege R500 combined with my Toshiba Optical Tilt-Wheel Mouse. I use Win XP Pro SP2.
During notebook usage the mouse will be disconnected. If I plug out the mouse and plug in another USB port, I can use the mouse for a while, but it halts not longer.
Later comes the same problem, but a reconnect to another USB port doesnt work.
I use the original driver of Microsoft win xp.

Did you receive the special XP driver together with this mouse?
If yes then install it.
But from my knowledge its common USB mouse which should use a plugn play device
So possibly you should check the USB settings.
Go to the device manger and open the USB bus controller tree
There you should mark the single USB root hubs and should select properties.
In the power management tab disable the function Allow the computer to turn off this device
Furthermore I recommend updating the XP to the latest state; I mean all hotfixes and patches should be installed!!

My Kensington USB wired mouse is intermittent. I've done considerable searching here and online but nothing helps permanently. I unplug mouse then plug it in again and it works for a while. I purchased an Express Card USB adapter and that worked great for a while but recently it became erratic just like the on-board USP ports. Even when the mouse is dead hitting <CTRL> finds it for me but that's all. No other USB devices -- USBASP programmer, external hard drive, printer, scanner -- have problems.

I have only the one USB mouse, but another one is coming. I tug and wiggle on the cable and the mouse works fine. When it does fail gently unplugging it (or the ExpressCard) and then plugging it in again fixes it. Putting the cursor at the edges of the screen caused failure, so I disabled that feature (I forget the details of that feature) and that was a big help. No other USB device has this "black out" characteristic. Sometimes the mouse only partially fails: the ball quits but the buttons still work. I clean the two rubber rollers that contact the ball. It is more reliable in the ExpressCard, but fails there, too. I once tried disabling the TouchPad but the USB mouse still failed. Turning the TouchPad off has no effect. No bright light is shining onto the mouse, I know that sunlight can drive the optical sensors inside crazy. I've done quite a bit of searching and I find that this is a problem common to laptops and no one can provide a solution. I don't like the touch pad, and my left button is failing, it has to be pressed at its right end. I can press the right button anywhere along its length. A message pops up when the mouse fails, but I didn't record it. Next time I see that message I'll grab it and post it.

I downloaded the Mobile Mouse server inadvertently three times. When I attempt to put the extra ones in the trash my Mac Mini will not let me. Does anyone know how to get rid of these extra ones? Please help

Hello! Yes I am referring to the Mobile Mouse Pro software from RPA Tech. Thanks for your answer as I was able to trash the two inadvertent downloads. Meanwhile when I downloaded the Mobile Mouse Software to my new Mac Mini I got an error message. “Error Starting Server” please make sure you have an active network connection or try a different Port.” My network is working as I am on the internet and receive mail. How do I know what other Port to try? Where does one find the Port number? Please help! Mike

After sleep, retina MacBook Pro (Mid 2014, on 10.9.4) does not recognize usb connected mouse movement. I have tried a generic usb mouse and my Razer Deathadder usb mouse. Both mice work before sleep; but after sleep, the computer no longer recognizes mouse movement while still recognizing the mouse buttons when pressed. Any idea why this is occurring?

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). After doing my latest software update, my MacBook no longer recognizes any devices that require the USB port (mouse, iPod, etc.). I've restarted the computer and that didn't help. Any thoughts on what to try? (I've already restarted the computer.)

Using external HD Cinema display and USB keyboard/mouse with "closed" MBP

I have an early 2009 17-inch MacBook Pro and a ~2007 HD Cinema Display. I routinely hook up my cinema display and an external USB keyboard/mouse when I am at my desk, and I close the lid on the MacBook to just use the external display. When I leave the office (I do about 50% of my work away from my desk) I use the MacBook on its own, often just putting it to sleep while I connect or disconnect the monitor and keyboard.
My problem comes more often when I have used my computer on its own, and I try to plug it back into my cinema display. I have the computer set to ask for a password on coming out of sleep or screen saver, and every so often the computer just hangs when I wake it up--usually when I plug in the external keyboard. When I am able to login, sometimes I am not able to use any of the icons on my desktop--it's almost as if they are not there or recognized by the finder. My solution has been to go into the view options and choose to re-arrange the desktop in some way, and then I can select them again as normal. This is a frustrating solution as 1. it takes extra time, and 2. I loose my desktop arrangement, which makes it hard to easily find what I'm looking for.
Is there a "better" way (order of plugging things in, settings, etc. besides shutting down and restarting) to connect and disconnect my MacBook from my external monitor and keyboard to assure an easy login and use of my desktop icons?

I'm not sure if this is germane, but Apple specifically warns about plugging or unplugging USB or FireWire devices from the laptops while they are sleeping. Doing so can result in kernel panics, crashes, inability to wake up the computer, etc. So specifically they recommend you only connect or disconnect such devices before putting the computer to sleep and after waking it up.

Preflight Panel Error

I've recently started using the preflight panel in ID CS4 when I produce my company's 4/c process covers.
I have set up a custom preflight profile so that under:
- IMAGES and OBJECTS > Image Resolution > color, grayscale and 1-bit images are checked off and set at minimum resolution of 300dpi.
- COLOR > Color Spaces and Modes Not Allowed: RGB, Spot Color, and Lab are checked off.
> Spot Color Setup > Predefined Spot Colors Must: Use CMYK Equivalents
However, when I place some EPS files, I'm getting preflight panel errors indicating that the EPS file has an effective resolution less than that of 300dpi I set in my custom profile, and that the "content" uses spot color.
I opened up the EPS files in AI CS4 and the doc info says no spot colors. And when I package the ID files with the EPS graphics, the summary says that no spot colors were found. Also, these are postscript files...why would I get a resolution error? Besides, the EPS files are at 100%.
Why the spot color error? Help!

Run the EPS files thru Illustrator and sava as to proper current .ai files and replace and see if the problem persists.

Mobile mouse 4000 horizontal wheel scroll doesn't work with Publisher 2007 or 2010

I installed a new Mobile Mouse 4000 on my W7 64 bit Dell laptop. Installed Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, Drivers are up to date. The horizontal scrolling via lateral press on the wheel does not work properly with
Publisher 2010 or 2007. The scroll bar moves, but not the graphic. It works properly with Word and Excel. Is this mouse not compatible with Publisher? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse and the mouse software.

That's correct. Also, same problem with the same mouse on another laptop running W8.1. I tried your suggestion and Ctrl + Left and Right Arrow moves the graphic OK. I have since tried the mouse with Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and found that the lateral
press on the wheel has no effect at all. The mouse software (Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center) has a selection box for applications that do not respond properly to wheel scrolling; I selected Publisher and Photoshop from the list but this had no effect
either. The horizontal scroll works properly with MS Picture Manager, Power Point and Access in addition to Excel and Word. Publisher is the only Office app that has a problem. The Office suite on the W8 laptop is a new install with all current updates. I
ran MS Office Diagnostis which said it repaired some issues, but didn't solve the Publisher scroll problem.
