HP Pavilion 15 e078sa, USB3 does not operate under Windows 7 64bit

After trying to like Windows 8 and failing due to issues such as incompatibility with software I am using etc. and having lost patience I have converted the laptop to run on Windows 7 64 bit to match the rest of the computers I use.
After a good days worth of installing and chasing drivers for this and that I am left with one software driver I cannot seem to crack, the dreaded USB3 driver. Device manager reports that the USB Serial Bus (USB) Controller will not operate because no driver is available for it. Searches on the internet have drawn a blank and the HP drivers website says Win 8 or nothing. Needless to say I am unhappy to have a laptop computer that has one hand tied behind its back due to an inability by HP or Realtek to provide suitable drivers for a reasonably modern laptop.
Any suggestions or pointers gratefully received.

There is no 'earlier' version that supports XP. iCloud launched with Vista/7 support only.

Photoshop 6 & 7 does not install under Windows 7 Home Premium

I recently updated from Vista Home Premium SP2 to Windows 7 Home Premium.
Now I need to re-install my Adobe Photoshop 6 to be able to upgrade to Photoshop 7.
When I try to run the Adobe setup.exe as administrator, setup starts, the cpu load goes up but
then the setup disappears without error message.
I tried all the different compatibility modes (Win95, 98, 2000, xp, Vista) - no success.
Can anybody help please?

just to avoid confusion: I'm not talking about Adobe Photoshop "Elements", the product is Adope Photoshop 6 & 7, both
predessors of Adobe Photoshop CS.
Both Photoshop 6 & 7 were running with Vista SP1, which was the pre-installed OS on my Laptop, and I had installed
both Photoshop versions under Vista with no problem.
Before trying to install Win7 Home Premium, I ran a full data backup, then I tried Windows Easy Transfer to save my
data on external disk.
When I tried to install Win7 using the upgrade option, this failed. So I did a complete fresh new installation of Windows 7
and used Win Easy Transfer to import my data. This, however, did not work properly.
I therefor formatted the disk and did a complete new Win7 install, afterwards I did a data revovery to import my data.
Photoshop 6 runs under Win7, however PS7 does not, giving the message "No personalization data found- reinstrall".
I cannot reinstall, because the PS7 is an upgrade from PS6, and when I try to reinstall, it says that no product is found.
I therefor tried to reinstall PS6 as well, which does not work under Win7.
When I check the event log after failed installation, this is what it says:

AC97 onboard sound DOES NOT WORK under Windows 2000

Just an FYI, the AC97 Audio on your MSI mainboard will not work under Windows 2000, for which the AC97 hardware is not certified. If you try to use it, your audio output will be intermittant at best and will crash your audio applications at worst. A maddening and disheartening problem for people like me who didn't realize the problem existed and spent many hours trying to getting it to go away.

Is your camera working under Windows 8?
Mine is not. It used to work some time ago, but even then the driver was instable. Now, since a few weeks, it seems not to work at all anymore. Reinstalling the driver does not help.
This may ba a hardware or a software issue, that's why it is important for me to know if yours is working.

As I wrote, I have tried to reinstall the driver without success.
It should be a hardware problem if you are able to run the camera perfectly. Are you using a 64- or 32-bit OS?

Photoshop Elements does not start under Windows Vista

The Twain-Module of my Canon CanoScan FS4000US Filmscanner works only under Windows Vista (no newer OS!). Fortunately I own an older Notebook with Vista as OS, so I have PSE Version 5.0.2 installed and use it to import my old color negatives via the twain module. Fine! It even works with 42 bit. But suddenly, PSE refuses to start and freezes at the window loading the libraries. At this stage it can only be stopped with the help of the task manager. A little search in the internet informs me that I am not the only user with that specific problem. Any help from Adobe?

After a view days of searching a found a solution: I installed the MS Visual C++ Reditributable für Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 (both 32 bit and 64 bit) and now Photoshop Elements runs without any problems.

Hello guys, after searching a lot in the forum for an answer to this, I could not find a solution so this is the reason for this post.
I have a Macbook Pro (early 2011 I think) running MacOSX Lion and I have installed Windows 7 64-bit through bootcamp (version 4.0).
Everything works fine except that I cannot connect my external display through my thunderbolt-vga adapter.
The external monitor shows only the boot screen of windows (the one with the windows logo) and then, when I get into the login page it goes blank.
After reading the forum, I have done several things in order to fix this problem such as:
Restarting the macbook with the thunderbolt device connected to it.
Updated to the latest ATI drivers through bootcamp.
Removed the graphics driver and re-install it again.
I have tried to identify the external monitor through windows 'screen resolution' tool (attached photo).
but still no luck.
Does anyone have any idea on what else I could do in order to fix this? By the way, I find it very frustrating that Apple does not have a stable solution to the problem with devices that are connected to the thunderbolt port.

I have built an applet that extends JApplet. To it I have added a class that extends JPanel implements MouseListener, MouseWheelListener, MouseMotionListener.
I collect input using the method
public void mouseWheelMoved(MouseWheelEvent e){
do stuff...
I have build this on a mac and tested it in firefox and it works fine. But on xp/vista internet explorer, the applet does not respond to mousewheel input. On mac osx /safari it does not work either.
Is there any solution to this problem?

Just for luck, try setting the JPanel focusable.panel.setFocusable(true);If that doesn't make a difference, you need to post a [_Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE)_|http://mindprod.com/jgloss/sscce.html] that clearly demonstrates your problem.

CHM does not display under Win7 64bit

Hi all,
the CHMs generated unter Win 7 32bit do not open correctly under Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64bit. The CHM viewer opens and the TOC is visible, but all pages are empty (white, no error message). The CHM is stored locally. The same CHM can be viewed without problems under Win7 32bit.
Any ideas about this?

Wrong information - sorry! The CHMs were generated under Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit as well. That means they do not display on the same computer they were gnerated on, but under other systems that have 32bit OS (Win7 or XP).

32-bit Oracle ODBC Driver does not work under Windows 64-bit

We have both Oracle Server 64-bit (10.2.0.3) and Oracle Client 32-bit (10.2.0.1) installed on the same Windows 2003 64-bit server.
We can create and test 64-bit Oracle ODBC System DSN using 64-bit ODBC Administrator.
We can also create a 32-bit Oracle ODBC System DSN using 32-bit ODBC Administrator.
However, the "test connection" does not work:
Unable to connect
SQLState=IM003
Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 998 (Oracle in OraClient10g_home32)
We need the 32-bit driver due to 32-bit applications acessing the local 64-bit Oracle server.
How should we accomplish this?

I applied 10.2.0.3 path to Oracle Client 32-bit and now the error is different.
This error message appears 3 times before configuring, creating or testing a System DNS:
"An unsupported operation was attempted."
I just click OK 3 times and then can configure, create or test the DSN.
However the 32-bit application still cannot access Oracle...

Addin does not work under Windows 2003

Hello.
I have a few Excel addins with forms and other objects that work fine on my desktop (Windows XP), where I have OO4O installed. Recently a user needed to start using these addins and I installed OO4O on a server using Windows 2003. The user (Windows XP also) connects to the server using Remote Desktop Connection. However when he uses the addins they do not work. The connection to the database is fine, I know that because otherwise some forms would not appear. The problem is when the user presses the first combobox of each form no data appears. If I enter just some text on that combobox, which enables a second combobox, then this second combobox works fine, I can see the database data. When the form allows me to press a button that runs a query I receive the message “Not all variables bound”.
If anybody can help I would very much appreciated.

As I wrote, I have tried to reinstall the driver without success.

HP Scanjet g4050 software does not install under Windows 7 ultimate

During installation of the full software the file scan.msi is "not found", although it is present in the directory.
What is wrong with this file? Tried the installation several times

Frame 7.2 will not install under Windows 7 Ultimate

HELP: FrameMake2 7.2 does not install under Windows 7. Almost at the end of the install it crashes with an empty dialogbox and a warning. Nothing else.

CD does not show under Devices on iTunes

I am a new user and would appreciate any suggestions. My iPod shows under Devices on iTunes, and I've had no problem buying music from iTunes store or loading to iPod.
I have set iTunes to be the default player of music cds but they do not play when loaded (iTunes opens) and the CD does not show under Devices.
