This could be very time consuming if there are certian criterias aren't meet. Do you have something like LoJack tracker installed and have you registered your serial with HP so if the laptop every come to a shop for repair the shop will contact hp for support and find it is a stolen laptop and report it to the authority to have it recovered. Otherwise find and recoving a lapto will be hard to do if they sell it off in pieces or keep it and do nothing with it or format it clean and install their own programs thus rendering gone.

    (ENERGY STAR)
    This came WITHOUT BLUETOOTH.
Can I upgrade it to include a Bluetooth chip / card, so that I do not require a "Dongle".
If so, what is the part No of the chip / card that I need.
    cheers,
    Joe.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=uk&lc=en&product=6732696
You would need to remove the wireless card in there now and replace it with one of the combination wireless/bluetooth cards listed in chapter 3 of the service manual.

I grasp that when you have the AC adapter connected the performance of your notebook slows.

  • Trouble with all 3 USB Ports: HP Pavilion 14-v062us Notebook PC

I was recently playing a game on my computer with a mouse controlled by a USB drive.  A little bit into the game, the mouse disconnected for no known reason.  I have been playing this game about six months now, and have never had this problem in the past.  I relocated the drive to the other two ports, but the device was not recognized in any of the ports. I plugged in another device controlled by a USB drive and got the same results.  I have uninstalled the USB Composite Device and USB Root Hubs then restarted my computer to no success.  Any help towards identifying and solving the problem is greatly appreciated!

  • Do I have a battery charge problem? HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p258na (ENERGY STAR)

Hi all, I bought a  HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p258na (ENERGY STAR) just yesterday, charged it fully. I notice that even after a full charge the batterly does not last very long. Perhaps two hours at most. I have had laptops in the past that can use battery power for much longer.
At 88% battery life the laptop has approximately 1hr 30 mins left. Just a few minutes later I check back to the battery icon at 76% charge and it has 2 hours 22 mins left (I have not stopped running any programmes on my laptop).
Update: Has 3hrs 1 minute charge at 66% power remaining
    Update: 2hrs 24 minutes at 65% power
Is this usual for a HP? Never had one before and am so far not won over

    Hi @lucyjoanne87 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15 p258na Notebook  and getting an error on the battery information. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
This is usually cause by needing an update. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating.
Here is a link to test and calibrate the battery.

  • Is there still any hope to have virtualization feature for my compaq 620 energy star notebook?

    Dear HP Support,
it looks like that the motherboard of my compaq 620 energy star notebook doesn't support virtualization technology, even though replace the processor with one with virtualization feature, my notebook still can't have virtualization feature. moreover it is said the CPU socket type of notebook is soldiered to the motherboard, so the processor of notebook can't be replaced. if this is the case, it seems that i can't replace the processor of my notebook.
am i correct? is there still any hope to have virtualization feature for my compaq 620 energy star notebook?
    thanks,
    q.s.

The processor can be upgraded; it is socketed. However, virtualization must be implemented in the motherboard and BIOS and without that, upgrading the processor will do no good. Which processor do you have?
    Here is the Service Manual:
    Manual
See page 120....virtualization is possible on some models but I am going to assume only the models with a Core2 Duo processor. Celeron and Pentium Dual models use a different chipset on the motherboard so even if you put in a Virtualization capable CPU it would not work.

  • HP Pavilion tx2510us Entertainment Notebook PC

I have a HP Pavilion tx2510us Entertainment Notebook PC (original installed with Windows Vista) upgraded to Windows 7.  When I power on the machine all I get is a black scrren.  I can hear the fan, and see lites on  but the screen stays black,  I have taken all peripherals out, I have rtaken  the memory out and put it back, I have treied an alternate monitor, I have tried to get into bios.  I have also done a hard reset (took battery out, unconnected the ac power and held the power button down).  An recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hello JORDANWILL822.  I understand you're unable to get your notebook to properly boot.
This is definitely a hardware problem.  You're unable to get a picture on the internal or external monitors.  However, the notebook appears to be powering on and otherwise running.  This means that it is likely that the video card is no longer functioning properly.
I would suggest checking the cable connection first.  Here is a link to your notebook's Maintenance and Service Guide.  This covers the disassembly of the notebook and would be invaluable for checking the connection.
If the connection is secure then you likely need to have the notebook repaired.
If the notebook isn't in warranty I suggest taking it to a local computer repair shop.  This sort of problem is really best diagnosed hands-on.  Many times these shops will even diagnose the issue while you're in the store.
If the notebook is in warranty or you'd like to inquire about a repair through HP I suggest contacting support.  If you're in the US/Canada the number is 1-800-474-6836.  If you're in another part of the world you'll need to visit HP Support Worldwide to get your region's contact information.

Hello mike_farhat.  I understand you're looking for drivers for your G6.
Unfortunately there are no drivers available specifically for Windows 7 32-bit.  However, here is a link to the drivers for Windows 7 64-bit.
Another thing you could try is to install both the HP Software Framework and HP Support Assistant.  Then you can run HP Support Assistant and the application will scan your PC and automatically download and install any drivers which are available.

  • How to upgrade Compaq 620 Energy Star from non virtualization to virtualization support?

    Dear HP community,
My Compaq 620 Energy Star notebook with CPU Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4500, not support virtualization. For supporting virtualization, I want to upgrade it, e.g. upgrade motherboard (if necessary), upgrade BIOS, upgrade CPU etc. Please recommend the correct and compatible version/model of parts to be upgraded to enable virtualization in this notebook.
It is said it is not easy to upgrade the notebook, but I think with the correct tools and approaches, it shouldn't be difficult to upgrade the notebook.
Thank you very much for your help !

Given all those plus labor cost. My suggestion: buy a new machine, a lot cheaper.
