HP Pavilion 27xi US power adapter work in UK?

Hi, I'm looking to import  the HP Pavilion 27xi to the UK as HP don't seem to want to release it in Europe and I love the look of this montor so I must have it. My question is will the adapter that comes with the US model work in the UK with a UK power cable connected or do I need some kind of votage converter.
cheers.

raven77,
These external power supplies used with laptops, monitors, HDTVs, AIO computers, etc. typically have an input voltage range of 100v - 240v alternating current. Just the be sure, I went and looked up the specs of the HP Pavilion 27xi 27-inch Diagonal IPS LED Backlit Monitor. This page didn't have the information I was looking for, so I enterd the HP p/n into the HP PartSurfer which indicated that the following HP products also use the same external power supply;
HP 2511x 25 inch Diagonal LCD Monitor
HP 2711x 27 inch Diagonal LCD Monitor
HP MONITOR 25BW
HP PAVILION 25xi 25-IN IPS MTR US
HP PAVILION 27XI 27-IN IPS MNT US
HP Pavilion 27bw 27-in IPS MNT US
I then looked up the specs for the HP 2711x 27 inch Diagonal LED Monitor which, according to the HP PartSurfer, uses the same power supply as the HP 27xi and found the following;
Power source - AC/DC adapter Input rating: 100 to 240V~
Frequency: 50~60Hz
Power consumption: 40 Watts max power consumption (30 Watts typical power consumption) , <1 Watt energy saving mode
Based on this information the external power supply for the HP 27xi should accept 100 to 240v, 50 - 60Hz input and function as expected. You should only need a compatible power cable to connect the power supply to the mains.

  • DOES MAG SAFE POWER ADAPTER WORK THE SAME AS A PORTABLE POWER ADAPTER??

My power adapter broke, so I just purchased a Mag Safe power adapter. My computer works when it is plugged in, but it says that there are no batteries available, and it is not charging.
Is there a difference between the two, and what could be the problem?

What exactly do you mean? There is only one AC adapter for the MacBook and it is a Mag Safe adapter, what are you refering to when you say portable adapter?

  • Will USB power adapter work overseas?

The Apple Store says it works in US, Canada and Japan, etc., where they use two prong plugs. Will it work along with an Apple travel adapter in places like New Zealand where they use 3 prongs and 220 V?

The wall charger works on 110 or 220 VAC. However, depending upon where you are you may need an adopter to match the plug configuration in a particular location. Apple sells this. Note it has six adopters but also includes the wall charger and other things.

  • Does the 80w power adapter work for the 13" mackbook pro?

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

You can use the power supply that came with your Mac or one that has a higher wattage, but not one with a lower wattage.
Specifically, in my home we have only 85W power supplies. They work fine with the older 17-inch Macbook Pro, a newer 15-inch Retina Display Macbook Pro, and with my daughter's Macbook Air 13-inch (which came with a 45-watt power supply that she leaves in her dorm room because she knows she can use these 85-watt ones when she visits).
The older style power supplies' magsafe plug can charge the older laptops as well as the newer Retina Display computers, but for the Retina Display laptops, you must use the small magsafe adaptor/converter along with the older style power supply.
I don't know of a way to use the newer power supplies that came with Retina Display laptops on an older laptop that accepts the older style magsafe adaptor.
If your original question was whether a power supply for a Retina Display computer can be used to charge a non-Retina Display 13-inch Macbook Pro, then I think the answer is NO because the Retina Display Macs use a different magsafe plug that won't fit into the slot for the 13-inch non-Retina laptop. The older power supplies CAN be used with the new Retina laptops because there is an adaptor one can get to allow the old magsafe plug to fit into the new Retina laptop.

  • Does the power adapter work with any country's voltage input

    Hi,
My name is Jo, I am in South Africa and wish to purchase a 13inch MacBook Pro online. (The companies here charge ridiculous prices when buying locally - up to 500$ in addition to what Apple charges online!!)
I believe that I will receive the best support regardless of the fact that I am thousands of miles away from where I wish to purchase it, however, my concern is, is that when I purchase it, will it be compatible with our power outlets? We run on between 220Volts and 240Volts.

It will come with the standard US plug though. You will need to get a plug adaptor for it to plug into your wall outlets. The US plug has two verticle prongs or if you use the extension it has the two verticle prongs with one round one jsut above them centered.

  • Power Adapter.. issues

I'm working on a Powerbook G4 15Inch FW-800 and due to some lightning it fried the LIO Board which is the Sound/DC-In board, I replaced it as well as the RJ-11 Jack that had some fried components on it as well and everything runs just great on it now!! Except whenever the power adapter is plugged in or removed it restarts!! So i know the battery works great, until i plug in the power adapter, and the power adapter works great, until i unplug it and try to run off the battery.. I'm at a loss here, also the Battery Backup.. I tested the battery and it has the proper voltage but it still doesnt keep the date and time when the computer is off without battery or power adapter for like 30 minutes!!! HELP! please

Charles, First welcome to the discussions.
You need to get in touch with Applecare... They will want you to bring it in and if they determine that is is defective part they will probably replace it free of charge...However if they find the cause to be misuse or abuse then I would quess you might be out of luck and will have to pay to have it fixed...Cheers..Don

  • Old Apple USB Power Adapter with new nano

Hi. I have an older Apple USB Power Adapter (model A1102) that I've been using with an Ipod Mini (bought it with the mini a long time ago). I have a new 3G nano on order. Will this power adapter work with the new nano? Or will I be forced to buy a new one?
Output from the adapter is 5V - 1.0A
    Thanks

Since I also converted from a Mini to a 3G Nano, I thought I'd give you a couple of pointers; I probably spent a couple of days preparing my existing mp3 library (and that says nothing about videos).
    1) Make sure all of your mp3's are NOT marked read-only and load everything you want into the NEW iTunes
    2) Work on collecting/saving the NEW things like album covert art and lyrics (I sometimes use the lyrics area to list musicians/personnel)
    3) Re-construct your playlists and SAVE everything (iTunes actually writes back to the mp3 files--that's why you don't want them read-only)
    4) Only then start messing with videos, because they tend to crash iTunes depending on your hardware, OS, etc. (for example, iTunes doesn't work well with Vista). My best advice for videos is use a 3rd party converter (like Nero Recode) to ensure iPod format compatibility; don't even waste your time with iTunes for anything that isn't a downloaded/purchased item.

  • IPod Firewire power adapter??

Hi I'm getting a Touch next week (actually somebody already bought it for me but its coming with it next week) and I have a 2nd (YES, SECOND) generation iPod with 15gb...
They didn't come with a usb cable back in those days, there was only firewire 400... but i bought that firewire to usb cable from apple back then that had 3 ends, the dock connector, a firewire 400 and a usb 2.0.
    Here some pics to help

The question is: can I use this power adapter with my new touch? it is not a usb power adapter, it is a firewire one because the port ON the connector is firewire.
ps: yes I managed to make my SECOND (lol) generation iPod survive all these 5 years... and it still works

to answer your qeustion YES. i had purchased the third generation ipod the one with the four buttons on top of the menu with the button in the middle was just touch... it lit up red on the buttons... but that was when they used firewire and jsut kept that with the ipod and i rmemberd how mad i was because i had windows and had to wait another week after christmas for my usb cord... but back then APPLE INCLUDED THE POWER ADAPTER working with the firewire cord obviously... but i wanted a way to charge my new ipod touch away from my macbook...
so i plugged it in to the firewire charger all the way back from like 03 or 04 i cant remember i think 03... but anyway yes that firewire charger does work with the touch

  • HP Pavilion Power Adapter Beeping/Not Working

I just made a post earlier tonight about how my HP Pavilion dv7-1014ca Entertainment Notebook was running too hot. Well now I've got bigger problems.
The battery on my laptop has been shot for a while now. My notebook isn't even 2 years old yet and I've gone through3 batteries. For whatever reason, they just aren't lasting. Last year I also had issues with my power jack not working properly. I got it repaired last summer, but in the past two months, it seems as if the issue has returned. Sometimes when I move the chord, the power supply cuts out. Also in the past month or so, my power adapter has been making this annoying beeping noise whenever I plugged it in. It would usually go away if I fiddled with it, but as of right now, I can't get it to stop, short of unplugging the thing. As it stands, the power adapter no longer seems to work, and since my battery is shot, my notebook has turned off. With no battery and no external power source, my laptop is unusable.
So... is the adapter fried? Is my power jack toast again? Seeing as my PC is no longer under warranty, what are my best options for replacement parts/fixes?

    Hello @pxj,
I understand that your notebook's keyboard is not working, and that your alternative keyboard does not function as well. I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Since your system's available drivers do not contain any keyboard drivers for Windows 7, I recommend obtaining a recovery disc to re-install Windows Vista on your system. This can be done by following this document on Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • New iPod touch 5th generation charger won't work with computers or USB power adapter?

I just got this charger less than two weeks ago and just yesterday it started saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work on this iPod." It will only work on some occasions, but most of the time it won't. Other times it will show that it is charging, but when I select to "Trust" my computer it stops charging. When I plug it into the USB power adapter, it rarely works (even when I try it in different outlets.) Any way to solve this issue?

  • 4th Gen. ipod. No longer charges from wall socket. Still can charge from computer. Wall power adapter and cord both work fine on other devices. Wall Why?

4th Generation ipod. Used to charge fine from wall socket (cord and USB adapter) and could also charge on the computer. Suddenly stopped charging from the wall. The same cord and adapter still work for my iphone, so there is not problem with either of them. What has changed? Why won't the ipod charge from the wall anymore? Is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks! It didn't actually work with the one I was using to charge the computer either. We had tried the computer cable with the power adapter, and it didn't  work to charge the ipod, though it does charge my iphone. Following your idea further,  I waited for my husband to get home from a trip and tried one of his extra cables he keeps in his backpack. That cable worked in with the USB  power adaptor. I had thought that because the cable I use on my computer charges my iphone through the USB power adapter or the computer, and that it charged the ipod through the computer that it was fully functional. Apparantly not.  Thanks again.

  • My power adapter is not working at all

    Hello
Recently, my power adapter has stopped working. I'm down to 33% battery power and no way to recharge! If I unplug the adapter and plug it directly into a wall outlet (grounded), it still does not work. No light on the adapter plug at all.
What's up here? How do I fix this? Please help!
    ------------S

If it won't switch on, and assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
