HP Pavilion A614n Front Audio Port

Hi, I have an HP Pavilion A614N. I need wiring diagram or connector pin out for the front audio/usb/fire wire port ( part #5784520009 Rev. C ). I need to know what wires in the connectors belong to what.

hi,
if you are going to replace the motherboard then no issues on that..
when you will chk the motherboard you will get the audio port and usb port on it..
it should be mentioned on it F_audio or USB_1 or USB_2    f_audio for front audio and USB's are for usb port..
for better help.. chk the front of your audio port and you will see some blank dots on it.. and chk the motherboard  you will also see the same jacks on it..
hope it will help..
thx

  • Front audio port not working please help..

    Hey guys,
My HP Pavilion DV2275ea front audio jack does not work, I have tried many different headsets as the mic jack works just fine. I have tried reinstalling audio drivers (Conexant High-Definition Audio Chip) and still nothing. I have look at the support advice posted to no avail. Is there anything else i could try?
A friend said it could be turned off in the bios but i am not able to get in as i don't know the password for the phoenix bios, could this be true?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Well from looking at a jpeg of your board the front usb headers are laid out just like my board. Each set of headers support 2 usb ports each. That gives you the 4 in the rear and 4 for the front.
Now as to the pinouts, 1+3+5+7+9 is 1 set and 2+4+6+8+10  is the 2nd set, with pins 1 and 2 being the 5V power pins. Pins 7 and 8 are your grounds.  3 and 4 are the usbo- and usb1-. Pins 5 and 6 are usbo+ and usb1+. Pin 9 is the "key" pin and may actually be missing by intention. Key 10 is sometimes called the usboc pin and normally isn't used. On some boards you don't want anything connected to pin 10, even if you have to snip the wire going to it and terminate the end of the wire with insulating tape.
Your motherboard manual should show you the pin layout.

  • XFI Fatality And Front Audio Ports On C

Hi guys I have a bit of a question about something that has been nagging me for a while.
I have front audio ports on built into my case that I would like to have working. I know that the sound card came with an I/O Dri've with similar ports on it but it is just bugging me knowing that my case has them also and that they are not working. The case has a headphone and mic jack in front, Problem is that I have no idea if I can even hook them up using the sound card.
Has anyone done this? If so can you help me connect my front ports.
    Thanks
    Any replies would be appreciated

Hi Mark,?This was covered in another thread. http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=53474?Creative doesn't recommend this, but other people have had success. To be done at your own risk.

  • Any way to utilize front audio ports on cas

I picked up the Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic today at a local store since the rest of the hardware will be coming in tommorrow (forgot to order a sound card, hence the reason I bought it at the store). Anyways, the case I ordered has a speaker and mic plug in the front of the case. Is there any way to use these things with the Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic? I switch from my speakers to headphones a lot and really find it annoying crawling behind the computer every time I need to. ;P Front audio ports would make things extremely convinient.
So, any possiblities with the X-Fi XtremeMusic?
If that's not possible, could I plug in the headphones to the third output on the card since I'm only running a 4. speaker setup?

Incase anyone else needs it, here are the pinouts:
    - Analog Ground
2 - Analog Headphone Out Left
3 - Audio Backpanel Mute -- short to ground to mute the backpanel (when headphones are plugged in)
4 - Analog Headphone Out Right
    5 - same as #3
6 - Mic input from front panel
    7 - key pin (shouldn't be there)
8 - VREF out -- voltage reference for Mic
9 - MIC IN MUTE -- ground when mic isn't plugged in, +2VDC when mic is plugged in
0 - Audio cable detect -- will be ground when headphones are plugged in (not normally used)

  • A55M-P33 Front Audio

I know there are lots of questions and answers on the front audio ports.   I just want to clarify some stuff.  I have the A55M-P33 motherboard which has the JAUD1 connector.  My case came with the HD and AC97 audio connectors.
I currently have the HD option connected to the JAUD1 pins on the motherboard.  If I decide to use that front audio port, is that the correct option to have connected to the motherboard?
And on another note, if I decide not to use the front audio ports, then is it okay to just disconnect that from the motherboard?

HD Audio is correct to have connected! (AC97 is a old type of connector and some cases have that just for if someone uses a old board that uses that)
If your just going to use the Rear outputs then its ok to not have the front audio plugged in as it will not be in use anyway!

  • Connecting SB Live! 5.1 to front audio po

    Hi!
I have OEM version of SB Li've! 5. that I've bought with Creative Inspire 500 speakers. I also have a case with front audio ports but the problem is that I don't know how to connect soundcard with these ports. I haven't found any info about such possibility in manual but i have only short version of manual 'How to install'. Is there any possibility to connect my SB with the front ports? If there is - how can I do it's
    Regards,
    vacu
    ps.
sorry for my English, I hope you understand me

If you can find a 0-pin socket on Li've! card board, then you can connet your card output internally to the case audio/mic ports by following instructions given @ http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/
NOTE: pin orde may be different on Li've! (instructions are for Audigy 2 Zs, but works well least w/ Audigy 2 card too (I have done this)).

  • Rear audio port problem

My front audio port works just find, but the rear seems to be dead. Is this a known problem with the Mac Pro?
    Lee
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I had to take my first Mac Pro back foor a dead rear port. They are really poorly constructed. Even when it works there is a ton of play in the jack. Very typical of PC motherboard mounted audio jacks too. No surprise the Mac Pro shares this problem.
Any hard yank or pull probably has a good chance of doing damage the way the plug fits in.
Make sure you have Line Out selected in the sound control panel too.

  • Front audio with PCI sound card?

Well, the front audio on my Antec P160W worked perfectly with the integrated sound, but I changed to my SoundBlaster Audigy Player because of the HORRIBLE audio quality. Now the front audio ports don't work. What do I need to do to make it work again? I'm not going back to the integrated.
At first I thought that I had to put the connectors for the front audio on the sound card, but the manual of it doesn't show any of those features.

I was wondering that myself. The only thing I think you could possibly do is have both the onboard and the pci sound card enabled and use the onboard sound just for the headphones. I have no tried this yet as I do have the cables connected to the mobo but I have the onboard sound disabled.

  • P7N SLi Front Audio Problems

    I'm running Windows 7 x64.
Installed the latest Realtek driver for ALC888 and strange things now happen to the front audio ports.  The autodetect ports doesn't work.  Even if there is nothing plugged in, Realtek says there is.  I cannot seem to mute the speakers when I plug headphones into the front ports even though I set this in the configuration.  Also, the microphone does not work unless you shout at it in the front port.  It works OK in the rear.
I tried uninstalling the driver and installing the original one from the disk that came with the motherboard but it made no difference.
According to Realtek, the drivers should all work in Windows 7.  I don't believe them.
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.  If it comes to the crunch I guess I'll have to buy a sound card but I hope there is a solution.  I'm fairly sure it's a driver problem.

No sure how well the driver supports goes for Win7 currently. Do check the pins connection as well.

  • Front audio problem

I purchased a K7N2 Delta NVIDIA nForce 2 FSB 400 Motherboard, and installed it today.  I have everything working except for the front audio port.  The power supply that I have (ATX) has eight cords for the front audio:
    1 R In
    2 R Out
    3 L In
    4 L Out
    5 Mic-In
    6 Mic-In
    7 Gnd
    8 Gnd
However, in the manual describing the JAUD1 Front Audio Connector it lists ten (two of which have no pins):
    1 AUD_MIC
    2 AUD_GND
    3 AUD_MIC_BIAS
    4 AUD_VCC
    5 AUD_FPOUT_R
    6 AUD_RET_R
    7 HP_ON (No Pin)
    8 KEY (No Pin)
    9 AUD_FPOUT_L
    10 AUD_RET_L
    So I have two questions:
    1. To which port of the JAUD1 panel of the motherboard am I supposed to connect the above eight plugs? I tried different combos with no success.
    2. After I figure out which plugs to go into where, do I need to dl the Realtex AC97 drivers, or do I only need to do that if I still have problems.
You guys rock.  Thank you very much for your help.  I look forward to hearing back from you.

Try this (Case connection -> Mobo connection)
    1 R In -> 5 Aud_FPOut_R
    2 R Out -> 6 Aud_Ret_R
    3 L In -> 9 Aud_FPOut_L
    4 L Out -> 10 Aud_Ret_L
    5 Mic In -> 1 Aud_Mic
6 Mic In -> 1 Aud Mic - Try this instead of 5 if mic doesn't work
    7 Gnd -> 2 Aud_Gnd
8 -> 2 Aud_Gnd - Try instead of 7 (or might need to splice them together)
You might need to swap 1&2, and 3&4, depending on what they class as "In" or "Out"
There should currently be a jumper on JAUD1 between pins 5&6 and 9&10
You should get audio out on the rear green socket if there is nothing plugged into the FP socket. (My case doesn't have the switched audio returns from the FP, so I wired it so that the jumpered pins were still connected to each other, as well as to the FP connector.)
Drivers would probably be a good idea.
    Cheers

You need to make connection by yourself. Here are instructions fo Audigy 2 Zs.
NOTE: X-Fi's J (Proprietary connector) pin order (and colour of the connector) may vary from oreder of Zs's (like it did on Audigy 2). You can easily find the pins for I/O by trying or measuring.

  • P6230y audio ports stopped working

Hey folks. I hopped on my computer today to discover that the front audio output port as well as all but the main audio output ports in the rear have failed. I've tested them with my headset as well as my monitor's speaker system. The only port that is still functioning is the main audio port in the rear of the computer. Is this a firmware problem? Or is it something with my motherboard?

If you paid Staples to set up your computer then the audio should be working too, I'd take it back and make them finish the job right.
Go to the Sound option using the Control Panel and under the Playback tab make sure that Speakers is enabled and is the default device. Also make sure that you have an RCA audio cable connected to the computers green audio output connector on the back of your computer and to the speaker input on your monitor. Make sure that the volume is not muted and is turned up high enough for you to hear it on both the computer and the monitor.

  • Need all 5 audio ports

I have 5.1 speakers that works fine with the onboard soundcard :D , but recently i've added a tv tunner in my pc... and apparently  8o  it requires my line-in port.
is there anyway i can use all 5 audio ports at the same time? some mods maybe?  )
    thx

hmm you're right about the front panel
but one BIG problem, enabling the front panel will disable the rear panel ?( ... and besides that, the front panel is for the line-out (which is not shared) and mic (not line-in)
well... i guess I'll have to buy new sound card..*sigh* :(
    any recommendation on this?
I'm thinking of getting either Fortissimo III or Audigy.
one last thing, My CPU temp is 50° C. how normal is that?
(btw its a P4 1.8 G overclocked to 2.4 by rising fsb to 133, its stable though... )

I don't want to screw anything up and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a great day!!!

    Hi Frankenputer,
I'd also like to thank you for such a fast response! I do have a copy of the manual in my grubby little hands and I did read it. That's how  I was able to identify the motherboard pinouts in my first post. I guess that one slipped by you  . The link you provided is great, it'll come in handy if I ever misplace the manual down the road.
My problem stems from the way the case manufacturer labelled the wires for the front audio connector e.g. using a naming convention that differs from that of the Intel Front Panel I/O Connectivity specification.  Specifically the Mic-VCC, Line-L and Line-R wires.
Stated simply, I was hoping one of the experts here might be able to tell me/confirm if Mic-VCC should be connected to pin 3 - AUD_MIC_BIAS or to pin 4 - AUD_VCC, and if Line-R should be connected to pin 6 and Line-L to pin 10 on the motherboard.
Again, thanks for your reply and have a great day!!!
    Fred
