Hi onashHh,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see that you are getting a blank screen and the Caps Lock flashing when you try to turn on your notebook. How times does that Caps Lock flash or in what pattern? The blink code should indicate the problem. If you are still using Windows 7 try seeing if you can boot up in Safe Mode.

HP site is having some major glitches the past few days. It has been reported but will probably be a few days before it is resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • WiFi (Key) stopped working after upgrade to Windows 10

I thought I would post this on the forum for those who are having the same problem because help for this issue is few and far between compared to the number of pleas for assistance from HP owners. When I upgraded to Windows 10 on my Pavilion, the WiFi stopped working and I could not turn it on using the hot key (F12). I searched for answers and worked hours trying to solve it until I came upon the only suggestion that worked for me: I had to disable fast boot (power options, change what the buttons do, "change settings that are currently unavailable" (?!?)) , so I could get into the bios and then I went into the bios by pressing f10 during boot.  Reset them to defaults.  (Changed from default back to what I wanted) saved and the wifi button turned white after pressing during windows 10 boot up. EDIT: If it does not turn on right away, try turning it on through the wifi settings. I hope this can help a few, who like me, struggled endlessly for a problem that few HP mods seem to be responding to. Cheers.

Put your part number (PSKK2U-028002) in here. It will take you to a page that has 12 Windows 10-compatible downloads. Unfortunately, a WiFi driver is not one of them.
    But there is this:
Your selected Toshiba PC is supported for upgrade to Windows 10, but not all of the software for the upgrade is available at this time. Additional software will be posted here when it is ready. Please check back at a later time.

  • Clean Install Questions - Lion

After reading through a few discussions, it sounds like performing a clean install would help with a lot of the issues I am experiencing with Lion. 1) I already have Lion installed, 2) I have added a bunch of stuff since my backup prior to Lion, so I can't use that backup for the clean install.
Basically I would like to clean up all the random folders on my computer without losing any of my information. Basically folders like System and Library are probably filled with junk I don't use anymore, applications I didn't uninstall correctly, random junk, etc. and hopefully a clean install can get rid of all this. I would like for all of my preferences to carry over (not necessarily overall system settings as these are pretty easy to change) but preferences for specific apps. I would also really like it if all of the stock Apple apps would get reinstalled because I have some duplicate apps (chess, text edit, stickies, image capture, etc.) that I cannot delete.
I wouldn't be opposed to doing a clean install and then only moving over the apps I use, my music, my photos, etc. but I am worried that other things will be affected. For instance not being able to sync my iphone because it won't recognize my computer?
Any insight on this would be really helpful; specifically what the process of a clean install is (cmd+R .....), and what files are affected.

    skaiser wrote:

    Actually you can.
"To redownload the installer on a computer running OS X Lion, press and hold the Option key while you click the Purchases tab. If the button to the right of the Install Mac OS X Lion item doesn't change to "Install" and allow you to download Lion, use Spotlight to search for "Install Mac OS X Lion" on your computer."
I haven't tried this out yet as I'm setting up my machine on another OS right now.
You can backup your files to a external drive, disconnect and then hold command + r to enter the Recovery Partition looks like this.
You need a internet connection, so just have a Ethernet connection before you boot into Recovery, it's easiest as Wifi is flaky here.
You can download and reinstall Lion again right over Lion already installed.

  • Sudden printing problems with scanned pdf documents

Hi, I suddenly experience problems when I want to print scanned pdf documents.
Since 2 years, I am using an iMac with a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M and a Samsung ML-2525W. I also use Acrobat Pro 9.0 provided with the scanner. I scan documents, save them as pdfs and print them. Worked fine until just recently. If I print scanned pdf documents, the printer give white pages. Other pdf documents get printed without problems.
I use OS X Yosemite (10.10.1) and ScanSnap Manager 3.2.L63.
    Any advice is highly appreciated

Hi Roger - the problem was going from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8. That is when all of the printing problems began, as well as the wifi getting flaky. I was able to get the iMac speaking politely to the printer by installing Repair 10.6.8 and re-adding the Canon printer (see below):
    Printer “failure”
Probably the single most common 10.6.8 problem, at least as evidenced by a massive 17 page thread in Apple Support Communities, is a failure to print. The typical symptom is that the printer driver software pauses, displaying a message that states something like: “printer-state-message="/usr/libexec/cups/backend/lpd failed" or “/usr/libexec/cups/backend/dnssd failed.” Not all printers have this problem, but users report seeing the symptom in a variety of different printers.
As is often the case with update-related problems, reinstalling 10.6.8 from the combo updater may eradicate the symptom. Another possible solution is modifying a printer file in the /etc/cups/ppd directory (as detailed in the above-linked thread).
Unfortunately, none of these solutions are guaranteed to work. What does reliably fix the problem is to downgrade back to 10.6.7. If you’d rather stick with 10.6.8, you can instead downgrade just the quartet of printer-related files that appear to be the root cause of the symptom. These are the socket, dnssd, lpd and ipp files, located in the /usr/libexec/cups/backend directory.
A Mac user wrote an application, Repair10.6.8 (direct download link), that automatically downgrades these four files for you. Several users report success with this program. After running the Repair app, you may also need to “reset printing system” by selecting the command from the contextual menu for the printer name in the Print & Fax System Preferences pane.

  • Wifi adapter upgrade for hp pavilion g6-1d73us

I have an HP Pavilion g6-1d73us running Windows 7 Home Premium with Intel Core i3 2.30GHz, 4GB RAM, 64 bit OS and would like to upgrade my wifi adapter from wireless 802.11n to wireless 802.11ac so I can also change my modem & router to the new, faster standard. The current wifi adapter that I have is Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapter. I have researched the hardware on the internet and I think I would like an Intel Wireless AC 7260 wifi adapter but I am not sure if it is compatible with my laptop. Could you please tell me what wireless 802.11ac card or adapter is compatible with my laptop or if I am even able to upgrade this compnent. My computer runs fine and has no problems. Thanks.
    This question was solved.

No. Sorry. The HP laptop motherboard has a BIOS program that is set to stop the bootup process if any but very specific wireless cards is installed. In the case of your laptop, no 802.11ac adapter is on the "whitelist" to allow booting.

  • A SERIOUS issue with WIFI in Pavilion 15-p002nk

Hi  , Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome.Thank you for the very detailed information. I have looked into your issue about your  HP Pavilion 15-p002nk Notebook and issues with the Wireless disconnecting. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection, if you need it.
If this continues I would change the Channel on the router. Routers are capable of communicating to your Notebook on several different channels. If your neighbours Wi-Fi is  on the same channel, your network speeds might have issues. Some say this helps fix this problem Microsoft Fix it.   Here is a link to help as well. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

Hi all.. Since the time i bought my new PC laptop "HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, Number: 2S23EA#BH4" , I've an issue with Wifi Connection; it's discconecting by itself sometime without any reason, then, it reconnect again like nothing happend because the "Connect automatically " option on Windows 8.1 is checked. Although, sometimes when it disconnect I have to reconnect by myself, after many troubles like  I have to restart the computer, or activating the Airlplane mode, disabling the Wifi cards and enable it again..  The strange behaviours of the Wifi connection is that is sometimes show me that the Wifi's stengh is full, all 5 bars, while it should be just like 2 bars or 3 at maximum, because where I'm connecting is a bit far from the router. but this just for few seconds before disconnecting, in addition, sometimes the Wifi card disable itself and re-enable at the moment and reconnect again. Moreover, once upon time when it disconnect, it dosen't detect my router or any other Wifi network around me. while there's more than 6 Wifi's available where i am living. Generally, this issue is not excessive, but those last days, it is being immoderate. i tried to look for some solution, but none of those proposed solution worked for me. I wish that i can find some resolution of this annoyning problem. advance Thank for everyone.

  • Wifi issue w/ HP Pavilion DV6

I've owned an HP Pavilion DV6 1030us for a couple of months now.  Wifi issues didn't start showing up until a week after I purchased my laptop.  I found out that there's a problem with the motherboard and sent in my laptop to HP for a repair, but when it came back a week later, it was still in the same condition as it was when I sent it.  HP sent back a paper that confirmed that they had "repaired" my laptop, but all the problems I've had are still present.
Anyways, I'm just curious as to what I should do at this point... my warranty hasn't expired yet, so should I sent it back in for repair?  I don't want to wait another week if everything is still going to be the same... school has already started... so any suggestions?
EDIT: Sorry this is in the wrong section...

  • Hp pavilion g6 1b60us, cant get the WIFI, Ethernet, ex, drivers to install

    I have a hp pavilion g6 1b60us
And I reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium (64 Bit) with a fresh install of Windows 7 ultimate (64 Bit)
    removing the recovery partitions too.
Now i cant get the drivers for the wifi and Ethernet to install...the ones i get from HP driver support install up to the point of right after the extraction,
it opens the installer and then a short glimpse of CMD box then the installer just poofs away.
I tried reinstalling windows and tried using other versions of the drivers, nothing worked all the same thing.
so there's no way for me to get online from that laptop and let it grab it's own drivers
i need help on getting the wifi or Ethernet to work
i herd there might be a chip-set that i might need that's got all the drivers in it? O.o

    You're very welcome.
Sure you can do that, or copy them to a usb flash drive...
First you have to go to the AMD website and download the chipset driver. First file listed.
Install this driver first and reboot. This will install the SM Bus controller.
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx#2
Then you can install these driver in whatever order you wish.

  • Pavilion G6 2016TX -WiFi is not working but bluetooth is working

    Hi,
WiFI on my Pavilion G6-2016TX  is not working, but bluetooth is working. I do not know what happened. Screen shot of device manager is attached. In the list i could no find any WiFi devices. Please help me to resolve this problem.

    Hello, @vizz007
I see that you're missing the wireless driver from Device Manager. I will try to assist you with this.
Were any changes or updates made prior to this occurring?
Did this just recently occur? If yes, start by doing a system restore.
You can also installing the driver, start with the HP Support Assistant. If this doesn't allow you to install a driver, then you can try from here: HP Pavilion g6-2016tx Notebook PC Drivers.
If you cannot get the driver to install this way, try the HP Recovery Manager. This will allow you install the original factory installed driver.
If that doesn't work, then you may want to test the hardware. This document can help you with that: Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista).
Let me know how this goes for you.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook and Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WiFi Card

I've got a dv7tqe (Quad Edition HP Pavilion dv7), part #XW397AV, notebook computer.  On page 8 of the manual, it says that the
Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 wifi card is compatible with this laptop.  However, upon further research online from many sources, including suppliers, it appears that this wifi card is not compatible due to HP's whitelist in the BIOS.
I'd like to know from an HP representative whether this card is truly compatible (it's not listed on PartSurfer for this laptop).
I'd also like to know why HP feels the need for a whitelist for wifi cards.  Is it to force your customers to pay your exhorbitant markups for replacement parts?
I'd really like the answers to these questions.  If it's not compatible, then it shouldn't be listed in the manual.
I'm also posting this as a warning to potential future HP customers that these types of inconsistencies as well as gouging their customers for replacement parts is commonplace for HP products.

    Hi:

You will not receive any answers to your questions from anyone speaking on behalf of the company (HP).
It is more complicated than the wireless cards having to be listed in the service manual as supported.
    1. They must also have the HP part # on them, or they will not work.
    2. There are a few cards listed in the service manuals that have the wrong part numbers, and no one knows the right part number.
So, when you think you have the right part number, you sometimes get the wrong card which may or may not work.  It just so happens that the Intel 6230 is one of those cards which no one can seem to find the right part # for.
Therefore, changing a wireless card in any HP notebook--especially a consumer model like yours is nothing short of a nightmare.
    3. No one has an answer for the whitelist issue. If you want to believe that it is to force customers to pay exorbitant markups for replacement parts, that is certainly your prerogative.
If you don't want to pay HP's prices, do what I do and go on eBay and query your search by the HP part number and get a used but tested and working wireless card for pennies on the dollar.

  • WIFI issue on HP Pavilion 14 Notebook PC model 14-v045TX

    Hello Experts,
I'm having wifi issues on my HP Pavilion 14-v045TX Notebook PC. It is intermittently disconnecting to wifi network. I just bought this a month ago. My other laptop don't have this issue.
I even tried connecting to a different (office and coffee shops) wifi and still get intermittent connection to wifi.
Am suspecting something wrong on the laptop but not sure how to fix.
    Please help and advise.

Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  So you have done the first step.  Checking connection to other wireless connection points.
Next would be to uninstall and reinstall the driver for your wifi.

  • Unable to control one-touch Audio and Wifi Icons on - HP Pavilion DV6-1235ee

    Hello All,
For a week or so, I am not able to enable/disable my Audio (even volume control) or Wifi buttons using the one-touch button (on the the same panel of power switch) in my HP Pavilion DV6-1235ee laptop.  I restarted few times and re-installed the chipset driver and input driver guessing it might help, to no result.
I've not done anything strange in the computer but installed few application related to my job.  And I am not used to regularly shutting down or rebooting my computer but keep it locked.
My OS: Windows 7 Professional X64

    Hi,
It's always worth trying a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and see start the notebook.
    Regards,
    DP-K

  • Wifi button is switched off externally in HP DV4 Pavilion

    Hi Team,
I had given my laptop for servicing.
On checking it I found that the light indicators in the panel were not working anymore (Volume, Wifi).
The On and Off is working fine, so is the display.
Seems like I cannot use the touch facility to switch on WI-Fi.
And in HP Wireless Support Assistant, it is disabled and shown as off.
Could you suggest any other method from OS where I can switch it on and access Wifi and Bluetooth?
I am travelling so I cannot take it back to a service centre at the moment.
the model is HP DV4 Pavilion Series.
    Thanks,
    Sneha
