HP Pavilion DV 9000 battery dead?

I have a DV9000 series PC.  Several months ago I received a message from HP that the batteries in some DV9000 laptops were failing unexpectedly.  A link in the message sent me to a page with a program that scanned my PC and told me my battery was fine and I didn't need to replace it.  Yesterday my laptop shut down unexpectedly and when I plugged it it I received a message that my battery is fully charged but I should replace my battery.  So, my question is will HP still replace my battery or do I need to replace it myself.  A new battery is 139.00 + shipping and I hate to buy a new battery if instead I should just invest in a new laptop.
Thanks,
Kathy

I also have this problem.
I bought one DV7-1243dx laptop in 2009. My warranty expired in Ago/2009, however the battery (AG08) began to warn that it is loaded, but it requires replacement and does not support more than 10 minutes.
I've passed the original program HP scanner and not resolved.
A few months ago I received a notice that the batteries (AG08) in some DV9000 laptop were showing unexpected failure.
I want to know if HP will replace the battery?
Thanks,
Isaias

  • Is my MacBook battery dead or is there something else going on?

    Hi
My macbook has an "x" on the battery symbol and says "no battery available" on it. I have tried all suggestions I have found, like, replace battery, reset power management, reset PRAM and still have the "x". It wont even turn on now with the battery inserted and at teh moment I can only use it when battery is taken out and Im plugged into power using Magsafe adaptor. Laptop is about 2.5 years old. I did only notice this hapening after I installed SL but I dont know if that has anything to do with it. Is my battery dead and if so if I buy new battery will that fix it or could it be soimething else. I did check battery cycle count a few days ago and all was grand but I cant check it now as when I insert battery laptop turns off!
Any help is greatly appreciated. THanks

Do a reset of the SMC:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Try carefully cleaning the contact points on both the battery and the MacBook with a little bit of rubbing alcohol.
If neither of those do the trick, your battery is likely toast. If you are under the 3-year AppleCare, you can try calling and they may offer you a free replacement. If you get a replacement and the same thing happens--your MacBook shuts down with the battery in it or can't see a battery--then you have a much more serious hardware problem.

Go to System Preferences>Displays and set the resolution to "Best for this computer" (or something to that effect).

  • Hp Pavilion Dv 9000 no audio, quick lunch soft touch not working and no light indicators

Good Evening i have problems with my laptop since it was sent to me without a hard disk drive so i have to buy a new one to make it work, first here are some useful information regarding my laptop.
    Hp pavilion dv 9000
    OS: Windows Vista Home premium
    HDD1: 250Gb
    Ram: 1030mb
so when i got the hard disk drive, i installed windows vista as its operating system and so far it worked well, and after that i downloaded drivers from HP's website, with correct laptop model and os, i searched for the most compatible drivers that will make my laptop function 100%
    i installed
    NVIDIA  Chipset driver
    Hp Quick lunch buttons
    Audio Driver
so after the installation and reboot of my laptop, it seems that only NVIDIA chipset driver worked, the quick lunch buttons are still not working, and also i cannot hear anything comming out of my speaker when i try to play some music, but i hear some loud beeps so it means it is 100% functioning  and also i noticed the 3 indicators at the bottom lefot of my laptop for (Power,Charging,Reading) lights are not lighting up.
i tried to uninstall it and install it again just like other blogs says but it doesnt work. . .
i really want to make my laptop fully functional . .
    can you help me please

    Hello @iamDestiny ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you've installed a new HDD in your notebook and are unable to use the keyboard shortcuts and have no sound from programs on the computer.
It would help to know if you're using a 32 or 64 bit version of Vista. To see which version of Windows you are using click here: Which Windows operating system am I running?
Keep in mind beeps typically come from the onboard BIOS speaker, not the actual speakers. Can you tell me what you do to hear the beeping so we can tell if this is a system beep or a Windows sound? Also, can you tell me if headphones work?
Regarding drivers: I would suggest installing the HP Support Assistant (HPSA) to search for drivers for you. You can download this here: HP Support Assistant. You can see how to use it here: Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7, Windows Vista).
When you installed Vista did you use the HP recovery CD's or your own copy of Windows?
Let me know the updated info or if the HPSA works.

4s will not charge until battery dead. Tried reset and powering off.

Inspect the charging port area for dirt/debris/fluff build-up that may be preventing a good connection and use a wooden toothpick, soft clean toothbrush, or a can of compressed air to clean it. Also look for bent or broken pins. Try another cable and/or charger block (be sure to always use a genuine Apple certified brand) in a known good outlet. If you're using a USB port, try another port. If you're using a hub, try a direct connection. If you're using a USB port in the front of a desktop computer, try one in the back. If all these fail, make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have the device evaluated.

  • I dropped my phone down the toilet then turned it off and left it in rice over night now it's saying battery dead and needs to be charged but I've read charing it is the worst thing to do, help please?

After taking a dip in my vest pocket in the washing machine for about 10 minutes, my nearly new 5S spent 5 days in rice and silica gel packets.   It definitely dried out, but there is damage to either the battery or the circuit board because it turns on, and I continuously get a blue screen and it reboots every five minutes for a half hour, and then miraculously, it stays on and works perfectly.  But I wound up having to fork over $700 for a new 6+. because I couldn't stand the rebooting any longer.   I had no insurance, but I do now, Apple insurance, not carrier ins.

  • 3gs reboots after 4mins on calls and shows battery dead then shows battery charged on restart any 1 have a fix please

3gs reboots after 4mins on calls and shows battery dead then shows battery charged on restart any 1 have a fix please

Thought it had worked but soon found out it had not.
after further days of trying finally, solved it for me Yesterday.
turned off notifications when locked, and bingo, wow.
i have not turned off iCloud but location services are also off.
best thing to do I found was keep checking your usage, settings, general, usage, and flip down to bottom, if the standby and usage are similar there is a problem, if there is a big difference then all is ok. Just keep turning things off and on until the difference is very apparent.
something on my phone was keeping the phone alive even when turned off, and I think this was the phone repeatedly trying to update continually.
to me this is definitely down to the iOS, my wife has exactly same phone and iOS but hers doesn't have any problem and the battery lasts for days.
the guy at the Genius Bar told me to restore the phone via iTunes, not iCloud. This is because iCloud remembers the exact info from your phone and simply reinstates it when you restore, and this includes the iOS too.
when I get home from holidays that's what I'll do, or wait for iOS 8 in few weeks. But I'm so pleased I finally made it work, I was beginning to think ditch the phone and buy Samsung.
anyway anyone out there please try my final solution and let me know if it works for you?

  • Closed my charged MBP, opened later - battery dead...

I opened my sleeping MacBook Pro 2.0GHz last night and used it for a few minutes. I noticed the battery was mostly charged. (Not plugged into AC at the time.) I closed the screen and walked away.
The next morning (12 hours later) I opened the unit and it did not come on. I looked at the bottom and saw one flashing light for the battery meter. I gave it AC and tapped the power button and it restored from disk-saved sleep state and was back.
The battery fully drained itself thru the night. The bright white flashing sleep LED was lit when I saw the closed unit later last night.
    This has happened once before.
    - Did the unit wake and run down the battery?
    - Was the LCD screen lit, while closed, until it died?
    Anyone seen this behavior?
    blakespot

I've had this happen to me a few times too.
Very annoying, because it makes me lose confidence that I can just shut the lid and come back to the computer later and continue my work.
This is almost Windows like (Windows notebooks have a notorious problem with sleep and waking properly without crashing) !!
I don't remember this problem with my Powerbook - the reliability of the sleep was one of the truly satisfying user experiences, never having to reboot OSX and having an instant on internet experience at home.
I'm wondering if it might be related to the hibernation feature that is implemented in the MacBook - you might have noticed that it takes 20-30 sec for the hard drive and fans to stop after closing the lid as an image of the memory is stored on the hard disk (for just in case the power runs out or the battery is taken out).
I don't like hibernation, because like most people after I close the lid of the computer I want to put it away and this 30 seconds is a critical time with hibernation for hard disk damage as 2 gig is being written to the hard disk. Any knocks and bumps could be catastrophic.
I'm going to turn of hibernation and will follow up whether the battery dead with lid closed problem continues.
Problem is that it is intermittent.

How do I disconnect my Facebook account from my Apple device that has iOS 6?
    Open your Settings in iOS
    Scroll down and tap Facebook

This disconnects your account from your Apple device, but it won't delete your Facebook account or deauthorize apps that you’ve already approved

  • Pavilion g6 2006tx battery replacement

I am looking forward to replace my laptop battery.
    Laptop model : Pavilion g6 2006tx
    Battery model : 593553-001
I wish to upgrade to a longer life battery. Can anybody suggest the best suitable battery?
    Is MU06 6cell battery compatible?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

All g6-2000 models use the same battery. The 9 cell will fit but it does bulge out a bit so you have a hump that elevates the rear of the laptop. I kind of like it because it keeps the laptop cool but does add weight and bulk to the laptop.

  • N86 - Battery Dead Twice within 6 months time

Hi, I own a N86 at July 2009 and replace battery once in Sept 2009. Now 28 Nov my battery dead again. Seems like my battery dying every 2 months. NOKIA PLEASE RECALL THIS BATTERY!!!

It's not a question of heating the battery up once and it dying. Lithium-ion cells are slowly killed by oxidation and that increases at elevated temperatures. Given that most smartphone batteries are already being run ragged by going through their complete capacity every day (whether charged in one go or charged several times), it doesn't take much time sitting in a glove box in a warm part of the world before the battery will keel over.
I absolutely agree that only doing full discharges isn't great for the battery's lifespan, and batterires should be charged frequently instead, but six months is a heck of a short time.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.
