Hp pavilion dv1610us shuts itself off PLZ HLP
Hi, recently I started having a problem with my dv1610us notebook. I'll turn it on and start using it and without warning, it will just turn itself off like a cold shutdown and everything goes black. Windows XP loads properly with out any errors and I can use it as if it had no problems, but then it will just turn off. Sometimes it happens 2 minutes after booting up, sometimes it stays on for a half hour. At times when I try to turn it back on, it just hangs. All of the lights will turn on such as the media player buttons, HD activity light, wifi, but the screen will stay black and nothing mechanical will happen or load. Then I have to hold down the power button to shut it off, give it a couple knocks on the bottom by the power jack, and then it will turn back on once I press power again...but then the cycle just keeps repeating itself. It also stops working if I restart or suspend it from the shutdown menu which tells me there's some kind of power management issue. I'm not sure what controls that in a notebook pc but if I'm not mistaken, on a desktop it's the power supply?
Some additional history on the notebook: I've owned it for about 3 years, recently had a HD crash and replaced the HD with a larger one, and the problem above went from happening once every couple days to multiple times every time I use it over the course of about a month. I don't think it really got bad until after I had to replace the HD. Also, the battery doesn't seem to hold a charge or the power supply doesn't seem to charge it. If I try and boot it off of just the power supply with no battery installed, it shuts off before windows even has a chance to load.

I have the same problem and I still don't know what is wrong with my computer. Maybe you have to go checking at Hp support shop in your country.
I really boring about this. I can open it for a few sec and then again, shut down itself.

Touch Screen Pavilion 23 shuts itself off.
I have a Pavilion 23XT All-in One PC that is only a few months old. The OS is Windows 8.1. All of a sudden it turns itself off after a short period. It also logs me off every 2-3 minutes. I have had qa couple of messages in the lower right hand corner that says something is high CPU usage. Is this a hardware problem?

Satellite U400-14B shuts itself off and now it wont start up

just got a new Satellite U400 this week.
Was working perfectly the first few days, then last night, it just shuts itself off and now it wont start up.
I press the on button and the row of lights next to it light up, but nothing happens I dont even get as far as the Toshiba screen.
I have tried many things. I left it plugged in overnight, tried taking the battery out and no result as of now.
The little led lights on the bottom indicate that there its plugged in, the battery is white not orange, when pressed they all light up again only for a split second.
The only thing I can liken this too is when a car wont start and you keep turning and turning the key, well in this case pushing a button, and nothing happens, the fans dont whir or anything...
help please...Has extra Memory (RAM) been installed? Try removing one Memory Module and try a different Memory Slot.
If bad memory is not the problem, then there is not much else you can do except send it to an ASP for warranty repairs. -
IPhone constantly shuts itself off randomly after 3.1.2 upgrade
So I decided to upgrade my iPhone 3G to the newest software when it was first available and now, inconsistently, it has been shutting itself off.
All I would do is lock the phone, such as after sending a message, and place it in my pocket. When I check it again, I realize it will not turn on, and have to fully power on the thing.
Is this a normal problem? What can I do? Should I downgrade? Is that even possible?
I would just like my iPhone to work like it should, all help is appreciated greatly.How can I set it as a new iPhone? The last time I reset all the settings and plugged in my phone, all of the information synced itself very quickly, I didnt have an option to restore as a backup or set up a new phone.
You seem to be confusing reseting the settings and restoring the phone. See this Apple support article - Restoring your iPhone... section. (This is also clearly described in the User Guide - bookmarked in iPhone Safari):

I aslo recommend disabling automatic syncing when connecting your phone. This can be selected on your device summary page or set globally for all devices.

Hp laserjet p1102w networked printer shuts itself off
Hi, I have a networked (not wireless network) printer, which is plugged into a computer that is always on. However, it shuts itself off randomly, even though I have set it to never do so. This means that users must walk over, turn the printer on, and occasionally restart their computers before they are able to print, which sometimes causes them to lose work. Occasionally the users will also receive a message like:
The printer spooler on the server was not responding
Which means someone must reset the server spooler before it will print.
I have also set it to go into power-save mode at the longest interval, one hour, but it frequently goes to sleep within minutes of a print-job, often sparking the above issues.
If there is anything that I can do further to keep from forcing the users to constantly turn it on, or to keep from having to restart the spooler every day, that would be great.
I am working with machines using Windows 7 and 8, and with a Windows Server 2012.I got to this screen by going to the web interface by typing the printer's IP address into a web-browser's address bar.

It could have powered off. Try holding the sleep button down for a few seconds until the apple logo appears to restart it

My computer has been acting weird lately. Shuts itself off, the mouse goes off in all directions, does not go into sleep mode sometimes, instead shows a gray screen with word definitions in large 3" letters that continuosly flows across the screen. Do I have a virus?

How many of these you can answer...
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts? -

Newly installed Mac Pro running 10.9 is shutting itself off. how do I prevent this?
Launch the Console.app in /Applications/Utilities/, select the system.log, and see if there's anything in it that could be calling for the shutdown.

Why does my nano iPod 7gen shut itself off during a pause when running
I am using the nano ipod 7th generation and nike plus. It shuts itself off if I have hit pause during a run while taking a break. This is very frustrating because I have to start my run over, it also shows up as two runs in one day. How can I fix this?
I usually hit the pause. I have tried putting it to sleep as not to bump the resume workout on the face. This doesnt help either. After a few minutes when waking up the ipod it shows the nike screen and I have to start a new workout.

I have had the MIFI6620L for less than a week. It keeps shutting itself off, and I couldn't find any mention of this in the user manual. Perhaps it is a battery saving feature, and not a problem with the unit? This is happening after the battery is charged and I have the unit disconnected from the outlet. Thanks.
Yes that is correct. Jetpacks will power themselves down after a default amount of time to preserve battery life. This feature should only be happening when there is no activity on the Jetpack. If you have devices connected it should remain online.
As a Jetpack owner it is a good idea to build a habit of powering on and off your device on a regular basis. This will help you keep your Jetpacks connection to the towers fresh and less prone to disconnections. The best way to use a Jetpack is to power up, consume data and then power down until next time. -
my iphone 4s shuts itself off all the time. starts normal and then shut it off and start all over again, what is wrong?
Your iPHone is designed by intention to shut off when there is a reason for the softwarer to believe that danger is immenent to the hardware. This can occurr if the software is running applications that have been corrupted due to all types of different scenarios. My best advice to you would be to restore your device back to default manufactures settings and do NOT restore the current backup of the IOS program currently running.
If this corrects the problem with your device intermittently restarting you will then know you have had applications there were corrupted on your device. Once you are convinced there are no issues with the hardware of your device you then are free to begin downloading software apps that were earlier on the device.

I have a Photosmart C6180. "Improper Shutdown" comes up and then the printer shuts itself off
An "Improper Shutdown" message started appearing. Right after this happens the printer shuts itself off, and then starts up again. The message reappears, and the same cycle happens again. This continues without stopping. Pushing any button except the on/off switch makes the same thing happen. Pushing the on/off switch right at the moment that the printer starts up, causes the printer to shut off, but as soon as I start it up again, the same message reappears and the cycle starts again.

My iMac won't boot up fully. It stays stuck in the gray screen with the pinwheel spinning, then after about 5 minutes just shuts itself off.
Try SMC Reset (unplug it from the back of the computer for 10 seconds then plug it back. in)
Try PRAM Reset Cmd + OPtion + P + R on start up.
Try safe boot - hold down shift on start up.
Try booting to install dvd (C on start up) or recovery hd (CMD + R) and using disk utility to run a verify and repair. If you still can't boot after that reinstall the operating system. If you can't find the disc or it wont boot to the disc.
Try single mode which is cmd+S on start up. It will open with a terminal looking window in the terminal. type in /sbin/fsck -TL. If it returns *system has been modified* continue to type that command in until it comes back with macintosh hd seems to be ok. If after 5 tries it still gives you system has been modified. You may have to replace the hard drive. -
