HP Pavilion dv2000,microphone issue

I change the OS of my HP Pavilion dv2000 from VISTA to Windows 7.At first everything found good. But when I start to use microphone on Yahoo Messenger it didn't work.I would like to know how i can make my microphone workable on Yahoo messenger and SKYPE. [private information removed]

I have officially solved this problem,
1. Flip your laptop sideways in a smooth fashion (fast but not too fast) while the charger is plugged in
(lift your laptop slightly in the air and hold the left side and push it upwards to the right direction and smoothly push it back and down)
The errors and inconvenient messages will instantly dissapear!
Try it yourself, maybe try more than once if it doesn't work, I'm running a HP Pavillion and it fixed it.

  • I am suffering the overheating issue in my HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop caused by NVIDIA GPU issue.

I am suffering the overheating issue in my HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop caused by NVIDIA GPU issue. When I go to the settlement site http://www.nvidiasettlement.com , I see that the last date of filing the claim expired which was 14th of March 2011. Is there any option remaining for the solution.
I want to get rid of this irritating overheating problem. Is there any option for replacement of NVIDIA GPU at my own cost even in some authorised service centre?

  • HP Pavilion dv2000 Lights but Black Screen

When I power up my Pavilion dv2000, I have blue lights but the screen remains black / blank. I can't hear the pc booting any further. I've tried all the Troubleshooting tips but no success. I removed/reinstalled the memory chips and hard drive, but no luck. The laptop won't boot from a Vista CD. Any suggestions / ideas would be appreciated. Walt

WITH LUCK, IT COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS RESEATING THE BATTERY. 1) I changed the battery in my daughter's dv2000 about three weeks ago. 2) At first the new battery seemed to work fine.  I then took it out and reinstalled the old battery, to check it with HP Battery Check - which I discovered on this occasion; I should have done this before replacing it, but I did not. 3) When I installed the new battery again, Battery Check started to give "Replace" for battery health status.I did not pay much attention to this.  The Battery Charge icon indicated the it was "Not Charging", when the cursor was placed over it.  4) Then, two or three weeks later, the screen remained blank when the notebook was started.  Hooked up a monitor to the notebook and it showed it to be working well. 5) Wasted a few hours researching the issue, and was about to start dissasembling the screen but I decided before to put the old (original) battery back in.  Did this and the screen came back to life at the next Start. 6) Installed the new battery again, removing and reseating it about four times in case there could be a dirty contact, and the screen kept working well.  After this, the status reported by Battery Check was "Good", at first, but then it went back again to "Replace" - will have to take this up with the battery vendor. 7) It's hard for me to figure out what would a faulty contact in the battery have to do with the screen not working, but it really looks like this was so. By the way, if you had to remove the screen frame, like to get to the LCD inverter, here is a good reference:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT2GFVem_9U Or, to replace the screen:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN3jNe8tphU Both procedures seem to be a lot more simple than one thinks. To get to Battery Check use:  Start > Help & Support > Troubleshooting Tools > Battery  Check On the side, to say something good about HP, they did replace the motherboard on this dv2000 in 2009, under a "Limited Warranty Service Enhancement" - that seemed to respond to failure of motherboards in several models, due to overheating.  It was repaired, and shipped back, on the same day it arrived at HP.  This, after the notebook was already well past its warranty period  (had bought it refurbished with a 90 day warranty).  It had failed after only 18 months from purchase date.  It worked fine since this repair, till the issue described here, and is 4 years old now.  We did buy a laptop cooler shortly after the repair, and use it almost all the time. Hope this may help someone.  Good luck.

  • PAVILION DV2000 PRINTING PROBLEM

I HAVE A LAPTOP PAVILION DV2000 AND AN HP DESKJET 3320......THECOMPUTER RECOGNIZES THE PRINTER AND PRINT "TEST PAGE"...BUT IF I WANT TO PRINT A DOCUMENT, NOTHING HAPPENS.......PLEASE HELP

Check the keyboard cable's connection to the motherboard. Sometimes the contacts can oxidize a little and keep the cable from making good contact. Try completely taking the keyboard out and reconnecting it, make sure the locking clip holding the keyboard into the connector is working properly. If it isn't a problem with the cable and a second keyboard shows the same problem, you are probably looking at a fault on the motherboard. The only way to deal with that is send it out to have it fixed, or buy a new motherboard.

  • Microphone Issue's

I'm testing out adobe audition 3 and im having microphone issue's. Im tryin to record with a Blue Snowball USB Microphone, but after i go to Audio Hardware setup and set everthing to ASIO4ALL apply and press ok, i press record and it gives me a message that states, " The currently selected audio driver is not availible. Another application may be using the same driver or the device may not be properly connected or powerd. You can select a new driver using the Audio Hardware Set Up option." • Audio/Microphone Issue - Lumia 920

I suddenly have an audio and microphone issue with my Lumia 920 which I've had for two months.
Regarding the microphone, people are suddenly having a tough time hearing me speak into the phone in conversation.
Regarding the audio, the noise from playing video is working, but I can not hear any music.  The music is running, but no sound.
    Very frustrating problems.
    Thanks for any help.

I think Nokia is taking this issue way too lightly.  It is now a rampant problem with the 920.  People just cannot hear me when I make or receive a call.  I do not have any protective case that would interfere with the microphone function etc.
I have searched the issue - and it is becoming a common problem that people have a hard time hearing you on a call - unless, that is, if you use speaker phone function.
Is Nokia going to address this issue - or keep treating it as a non-issue?  I have requested a replacement from AT&T - but I anticipate the same issue coming up with it.  I would rather not have my phone replaced - especially if Nokia/MS could issue an update that solves this issue.
    Thanks

  • Internal microphone issue NB300

Have recently been using Skype and MSN and everything worked fine.
Then tried to download audio files from dctaphone using microphone socket again seems to work ok.
However now microphone on NB300 barely audible on receiving machines.
Screen surround ultra sensitive and high pitched feedback occasionally.
Have downloaded video downlaods but no significant improvement.
Concerned it may be hardware not software.
Toshiba machine diagnostics dont identify a problem.
Any help appreciated as not too technically minded.
    Iain

Sorry for the delay in responding. Did as you suggested and ensured the settings were as shown on the website address you supplied. I have also restored system to a previous restore point which seems to have fixed the microphone issue but now they cannot receive video stream and video images not seen on my machine. Probably need to do some more tinkering. It is a shame that there is no way to record the system settings at a particular time so that in order to regularise the position you can reset manually.
Any way thank you again for your assistance

  • HP Pavilion DV2000 Laptop makes continuous "none stop" loud whining noise.

HP Pavilion DV2000 laptop makes continuous "none stop"  loud whining noise. This happens when the computer is on and only stops if it is shut off.
The noise is very frustrating and just never goes away.
I googled for clues and read that proplems with the processor power management, something to do with AMD but the explaination were not clear and I don't want to ruin the computer. Here is a link to what I read. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=192213
The sound is mainly coming from the left speaker area. So I disabled the sound card but the noise continues.
The fan appeares to be working well and no over heating.
Any clues as to how I can make this stop?
    Thanks everyone.
    AI

The fan is so loud that when I have people around me they always ask me what's wrong with my computer. I bought it about 2 years ago but the warranty was only valid for a year and the fan problem got really bad after a year so there was nothing I could do about it. My old Toshiba, which is now more than 5 years old and which I had given to my brother after buying the HP, is still going strong and its fan, even during a hot summer day and while running some rather powerful graphic application on it, is never as loud as the fan which is normally on at all times on the HP. Besides, right after buying the HP and diligently doing all the updates that were recommended by HP Health Check, it died and I had to send it back to HP but because I was outside of the US, at the time, I had no computer for weeks until I returned to the US, got a free box from HP, shipped it to them and got it back. It didn't cost any money but it was a big hassle and not a very promising sign of future problems to come. Good luck to everyone who will buy an HP computer in the future. I am going back to Toshiba.

  • Is there a graphics card that will be compatible in my HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook (model dv2419us)?

?Is there a graphics card that will be compatible in my HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook (model dv2419us)? - This notebook has Windows 7 Home Premium.
    - I was looking to take the free upgrade to WIndows 10 - I requested the reservation.
    - Initial response was to wait for downloads would be available.
    - Just got the message that it is not compatible with Windows 10 because it has an Nvidia Go GeForce 6150 graphics card.
    - I contacted Nvidia about a card that would be comaptible with WIndows 10.
    - Response was that couldn't recomment a replacement, and to contact HP.
    - Does anyone know if there is a graphics card replacement for the HP Pavilion dv2000 notebook that would make it compatible with Windows 10?
...Or is my only option to not upgrade to Windows 10 or buy a new laptop?

Hi there ,  Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great site to get answers and ask questions. I understand that you are inquiring about a Graphics Card Replacement.  Unfortunately the Graphics Cards are not replaceable on the HP Pavilion dv2000 Notebook PC. They are attached directly to the motherboard. The only way to replace a Graphics Card  would be to replace the whole Motherboard.  Hope I answered your question.  Have a great day!

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC - Webcam and microphone issues

When attempting to use Skype or other videochat programs, I receive an error messaage asking me to enable webcam/microphone.  I have gone into the control panel and checked that the integrated webcam and microphone are enabled.  Perhaps the programs/drivers behind the hardware have been removed? I am not very computer savvy, but I am sure the issue is not a virus. Any help appreiated.

  • Microphone issue with pavilion dv7

I got a Pavilion dv7 for Xmas (don't ask me which model, as I can't find it using any of HP's help info!!!). I used a microphone with it, no problems. Recorded great, everything went smooth as pie. After the system auto-updated (it's the only possible cause i can find, as no other changes were made), now my external mic will not work worth poop. The recording levels are extremely low, tons of noise. I know it's not the mic, as it works OK on other machines. I can find no documentation to help me work with the Beats Audio system. Can anyone please help before I throw the computer or myself out a window!!!!!

I bought this HP Pavilioh dv7 w/Windows 7 Pro on it around November 30, 2012.  I never bothered trying to do anything with the microphone until this month.  I find that if there is no attached mic it will not record at all, although after spending 5 hours on support with HP they could not come up with a solution.  If I attach an external mic it will barely record anything.  I haven't been able to find any way to adjust mic settings and am at a loss.  Earlier in this string it was suggested to go to device manager and revert to the previous driver.  However, when I go there there is no previous driver to revert to.  An external microphone will record a little if I yell in to it.  I don't want this to be my first experience with HP, that a simple device fails and the whole unit will have to be shipped in for hardware replacement.  Any information you can advise I will be glad to try.  I am a fairly skilled user, therefore I am likely to be able to execute whatever is needed.  Bill Harpe.

  • HP pavilion dv7 microphone won't stay muted on reboot

I have a HP Pavilion DV7 P/N-A1L97AV with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  I am having a problem with both the integrated microphone array and external microphone not staying muted when I reboot the computer.  I can mute system sounds and reboot that is still muted when I reboot, but not the microphones.  The only way to keep them muted is to mute all.  The reason this is a problem is that when I reboot, if I forgot to turn sound down I get feedback until I can mute the microphone.  I have not been able to figure out what has caused this but it is quite annoying, especially since I use the laptop with events for playback.  I do use the microphone for recording classes forweb-based classroom for elementary schools so I need it operational.

Have you tried starting it without battery?
    Have you reseated memory.
Try removing 1 stick of memory and see if it will start. If no joy, switch the memory sticks and try the other one.

    Dear Durga_5 -
I understand that your microphone is not working with Skype.  I think you will find a solution in the Skype section of the HP support document Resolving microphone problems (Windows 8).
Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you.
    Sincerely,
