HP Pavilion DV6-3049TX Giving Shocks when plugged in with Adaptor

I  purchased HP Pavilion dv6-3049TX from, Punjab India through authorised HP world outlet last week only .This laptop is giving mild to strong shocks when power adapter is plugged in. The shock produces real sensation and  sometimes  unbearable too.. This defect  is very serious in nature .  I am using the 4th laptop of the company never faced such problem.( last was 1414TX). Definitely  there is some technical fault and it is not expected from such a reputed multinational company.
 What all my friends suggest to do?
Complaint already registered with HP and still pending.
 Improper earthing in home is being  assigned reason for this.
 If this is the reason for shocks from this laptop dont you think company should Boldly paste label on this laptop model that " ONLY  PERSONS WHO HAVE PROPER EARTHING IN THEIR HOME AND WHERE EVER THEY WANT TO TAKE THIS LAPTOP FOR WORK IN THE  WORLD SHOULD HAVE PROPER EARTHING  should purchase OTHERWISE READY FOR SHOCK OR DONT PURCHASE"
I feel if this the techanical fault HP should recall all this models and refund money with compensation. Please advice me ? Is any body elese facing problem. What is the possible solution ?

This  issue t was posted in this forum few days back . 3049TX laptop producing vibrations/shocks when plugged with AC adapter. The complaint is lodged with HP on 24/08/2010 and almost 14 days gone still case under process and engineers working aggresively on the issue. Two different  engineers checked the voltage Four times on four different dates  ( latest reading (P/N = 211 volts) ( P/E = 211 volts) & (N/E = 2 volts). Four units of same model tested at 3 different locations . All were producing vibrations and shocks and tester( Testpin) clear showing neon lamp lighting quite brightly( I wish i can paste pics here . Of course I can mail to any one who pvtly msg me their email). The service centre deliberately delaying. Why don't HP not accepting and refund money?
As already submitted that laptop notebook not a desktop it is a mobile unit can be taken any where in India or in world. Will HP engineers accompany the shocking notebooks ? and check earth/ grounding  every where where ever the poor unlucky owner of this laptop will go.
I have gone through all electronic and hard printed Brochure of this laptop and  couldn't find the warning or information that " This laptop needs proper grounding and earthing at all places where you want to use this laptop"
I appeal all of you to please provide solution to me  as well to HP what to do?
please suggest me the action I should take as I feel service centre is playing game here and unnecessarily harassing me

  • Pavilion dv6 headphones stop working when certain programs launched

    My pavilion dv6 (product number: A5F76AV; OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) is brand new, just arrived yesterday. On startup, the headphones work fine when watching videos online and for any other system audio, but when I launch a game (through steam) I no longer get audio through the headphones (system reverts back to playing audio through the onboard speakers). Once this happens, no audio comes through the headphones regardless of the source, although the volume coming from the onboard speakers changes somewhat when the headphones are plugged in and unplugged.
    I've tried manually downloading and installing the audio driver for my computer by going through the HP support website, but doing so did not help. I would be extremely grateful for any help that can be offered.

  • Pavilion dv6 - loud beeping sound when starting +sound problem

    i just bought an hp pavilion dv6 notebook LR732PA and every time i turn it on there's a loud beeping sound, and i'm not sure if this is normal but it asks me where to boot from (pc hard drive) and which oS (windows 7 64-bit). does anyone know how to stop the beeping?
    Also sometimes the sound stops working altogether and an icon appears on the screen with a circle moving around it, and when i try to put the volume up the bar slides back down. it usually can be fixed by closing some programs and processes, it happens sometimes when ive just got 2 programs running and i close one and its ok, or if its not i have to restart. is this something to do with RAM or some kind of sound setting?

  • Shock when plugged in- satellite BT4G22

    hi all
    i have a TOSHIBA satellite P750-BT4G22 laptop. i bought it from US and i m using it in India presently. The problems is that i am getting mild electric shocks when i plug in the charger. I m gettin shocks from the VGA port and the speaker cover above the keyboard. why is this happening? could this bring any damage to my system? My charger plug is not having the earth pin. how can i get rid of this.please help.

    I get shocked from my Satellite P875 with the ac adapter plugged in.
    Sent in laptop for repair while still under warranty. They replaced the motherboard, hard drive & ac adapter, but I still have the same problem. Can you imagine what that would have cost, if I would had to pay for this repair, I could have bought a new laptop for that.
    I own two older Satellite laptops, but the Satellite P875 is my first with a aluminum case.
    If the laptop would have a separate ground connection, the laptop would still be leaking current to ground but I would not feel it.
    Right now I am using a rubber mat under my feet which stops the mild shock, when I am using the laptop somewhere on a ground floor concrete or tile floor.
    I would be very concerned if I would be a person with a heart pace maker.

    You may have to ask for the whole set, borrowing just ONE may not work because the environment could be difference after you logon to the machine for the first time.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 - Cursor randomly selects when typing.

    Hello!  Infinitely frustrating as I am writing my thesis - but as I'm typing my cursor will randomly select without me clicking anything.  At first I thought it was my thumbs hitting the touch pad but I disable the "tap" function and am still having the issue.  
    Anyone else?  Anyone know how to fix it?  Thanks!

    I joined just to comment on this. I bought this computer (the Pavilion dv6) in June or July of 2011. I have been having the exact same problem ever since, and I don't know how to fix it. Like the OP said, it's not harmful, but just super annoying. Any ideas?

    Yes it is called an inverter...one end plugs in the cigarette lighter and the other end has a standard AC plug like in your house.

    Hi, is there a way to "force-mount" an external drive that doesn't show up on the desktop? I have a new Hitachi SATA III 2 TB Ultrastar that won't show up like all the other drives when plugged in. So I can't partition, repair, format etc with Disk Utility, Disk Drill, Tech Tools etc. How do I make it visible?
    I use the FW 400 to 800 adapter and a FW hub.

  • TS2771 My iPod 5 well not turn on nor well it charge. What only appears on the iPod when plugged in with the charger is the low batterty sign but it's been like that for 2 days now and it still wont turn on or charge. it's not recognize on pc or laptop

    So my ipod 5 wont charge nor turn on and whenever i plug it with thee charger all it shows is the low battery sign with the lighting bolt under it and i left it like that but like the title says its been like that for 2 days straight and it still wont turn on nor charge. I dont know what to do. It won't be able to reset or respond to any of my actions. i tried the DFU mode but it wont work unless its on. PLEASE HELP!

    Sounds like the battery is dead. Take it to Apple and ask them to check it out for you.

  • Pavilion 15-n276sa Using Battery When Plugged In

    I'm using the Pavilion 15-n276sa on Windows 8.1 I got under a year ago, and when I began to use it this morning, I noticed that although it was plugged in, the laptop did not register it, but it still said 100% charged. I left the battery to go down for a while (to 93%) and plugged it back in, but it was stuck on 93% after that- it did not increase or decrease. I don't have the "Plugged in, not charging" message, the icon suggests I am using the battery as though the laptop was not plugged in at all.  I've turned my laptop off, unplugged it, taken the battery out etc, but it's still not charging.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Sounds strange check whether you have plugged it correctly. Or may be the problems with the power cord . I think you should wait until a hp expert replies

    A bit ago, after plugging in my iPod, touching the back resulted in an uncomfortable electric current in my hands. After plugging it back in a few times it stopped. Discharging static didn't help. I am 5 hours away from the nearest apple store and this thing is old, but I am too poor to get new apple stuff. Any suggestions?

    Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store if it you find no problems and yo have same problem with all charging sources

  • HP pavilion dv6 restoratio​n incomplete after recovery

    I recently try to facotry reset my Hp pavilion dv6 using the recovery usb I make with the HP program when I brought this laptop, but it said "restoration incomplete". 
    I have ran the hard drive check and mem test at the BIOS and there isnt any problem. I also did a full format on the hard drive and it works. So I dont think there are any bad sector on hard drive. 
    I did factory reset, miniimze windows install...all the option I can had on the recovery problem but It doesnt work.
    Once It finish the installation and laptop is restart, it automatically boot into the HP recovery program and said "restoration incomplete".
    I am wondering how can I find my license product key so I can install a windows 7 or any other solution?

    Sorry no solution for you but I to have a DV6 that no longer allows the DVD drive, bluetooth, web cam, wi-di and probably a load of other things to work to work.  I've never been able to make back ups of my settings so like you want to start again. Please HP answer this question as I'd love to try Windows 7 also.  P.s. never had so much trouble with a laptop!!!!  Runs hot, can't system restore, can't use the simple things I'm used to on any other laptop!!
