    Hi,
Have you checked in the Device Manager to see if all drivers are installed since upgrading? (look for yellow exclamation points)
Uninstall the AMD driver and catalyst control center. Install the version  located in the download section of the web support portal for your sleekbook. It will install both driver (intel and AMD) and also switchable graphics capability if it previously existed.

  • No sound after upgrading to Windows 8 HP G60-553NR Notebook

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows 7 64-bit on my HP G60-553NR and went through 3 tiers of tech support with Windows because after upgrading to Windows 8 Pro.... I had no sound coming from my speakers from my notebook nor will sound play when headphones are plugged in. Windows Tech support said that there are no compatable sound drivers to download, which leaves me with no sound completely which is no bueno. So, is there a driver that I can download that will work on my notebook?! If not, how do I downgrade to Windows 7. I'm a DJ and I really need some sound like asap. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Thanks

Do an HP system recovery to get back.
If you have discs - put first in and boot.
If not, you can go into settings from CHarms and advanced to select recover. Here's more: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03489643

  • No sound after upgrading to Windows 7 M55-S3293

I upgraded to Windows 7 and installed the drivers from Toshiba for my sound card and before installing checked the windows XP box under the compatibility tab.  No sound.  I did windows update for this driver and it installed an updated driver.  No sound.  I went to Realtek and installed the windows 7 generic driver for this sound card (thats all manufacturer's offer is a generic driver) and LOW sound.  Now I rebooted and back to No sound.
Before windows 7 sound, after no sound.
Toshiba put out a fix for a contextant audio driver for the low sound problem to be corrected with windows 7 but I cannot find anything for my computer.
I don't know know what to do!  I don't want to go back to using XP but sound is REALLY important.  I would think this is an integrated sound card (Toshiba isn't making service manuals public anymore, it was there the other day and gone today) so I cannot remove it.  I don't think I have any available PCI slots to install a new one internally and I don't want extrenal speakers since I do a lot of traveling.
Is there a fix I don't know about?  What can I do?  Please HELP!!!

    Hi Ryan,
    Go here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/downloadDetail.jsp?soid=1671893&pf=true
and download the software called "Sound Utility to Turn Mute Off After Upgrading to Vista", it is made for people that upgrade to VISTA, however, once you have all your Toshiba updates installed by downloading the Toshiba updates, then apply this update to your Windows7 system and the problem will resolve.
I don't know why they did not make this update part of the Toshiba Update Package.
    I hope this helps,
    best,
    Alejandro

  • Popping sound after upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit

I recently upgraded my T61 with Windows 7, 64-bit. I added 2 GB of memory to take it to the max limit of 4GB. However, when I log off, I get a popping sound twice, and when I log in, I hear it once.
I was able to generate the same popping sound when I either mute or unmute the sound on my laptop. Also, when I plug in external speakers into the speaker plug, I get the popping sound as well.
Any idea as to why I'm experiencing this issue? Is there a driver issue? It's not affecting the performance of my laptop, but it is very annoying and didn't happen when I had 2 GB and Windows XP Professional (32-bit)
    Thanks

    Hello,
You mentioned that you upgraded the operating system to the 64-bit edition of Microsoft Windows 7.  Did you install over a previous operating system, such as the 64-bit edition of Windows Vista, or perform a clean install of Windows 7?

  • No connection/no sound after Upgrade to Windows 8....

Hi! I Updated my Windows System a couple of days ago. Since that it's not possible to use Skype.
I usually use the Desktop version:
-> Sometimes if I try to call Echo Service, it connects and after 2-3 seconds call the sound disappears. It's not possible to call, the microphone doesn't react.
-> Sometimes it starts to call but doesn't connect anymore. (calls drops before)
-> If I call my regular contacts, neither I can hear them nor they can hear me.
-> After reading some hints I tried to install the newest version of Reatec Audio drive (I use Lenovo laptop). Since that moment the Echo Service is either unavailable ("Problems with playback device") or it starts to call but drops before connection.
If I se the Windows App it just doesn't open at all, only the blue screen appears.
Does anyone have some suggestions? I'm quite dissapointed.. Thanks in advance!

I assume you updated from Windows 8 > 8.1? You should go to the manufaturers site, and download windows 8.1 drivers for your PC. If you cannot find Win 8.1 drivers for your system, there might be compabillity issues.
Also make sure your OS is fully updated, along with IE.

  • HP PAVILION DV6707us MICROPHONE NOT WORKING AFTER UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 7

When I updaded my laptop to Windows 7 Ultimate my internal mic disappeared. I installed the sound driver I found n website but still the mic does not appear. Please help me.

Hello mrsray89.  I understand you're unable to get your internal microphone to work.
Did the microphone work as expected when you had Windows Vista installed?
Have you tried installing the HP Software Framework and HP Support Assistant?  You can then run the HP Support Assistant application and it will scan your system and install any missing drivers.
Also, I believe the internal microphone is part of the webcam's hardware.  So, knowing whether the webcam is working will be helpful information. Try the following.
Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
Expand the "Digital Imaging Devices" section.
    List what you see.
Have a great day!  I'll be watching for your reply.
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • No sound after upgrade to windows 8 on presario cq60-220us notebook

Windows 8 recognized the sound device but there is no response on the internal or external speakers.  The video display is also lagging... not smooth replays.  I couldn't find any windows 8 drivers.

    Hi,
    Try something like this.
Download and instal the latest Intel chipset driver from here.
    Reboot system.
Download and instal the latest Intel graphics driver from here (if you are using 32-bit system) or from here (if you are using 64-bit system).
    Note:
I can not promise that this solution will solve the problem, or even that you can install Intel graphics driver.
This may be also problem with overheating. Clean the vents of your notebook using compressed air.

  • 2015 HP Envy 23 Ips monitor with Beats Audio is not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi I have upgraded OS to Windows 10 recently. from then there is no sound from my monitor. FYI.. am ussing a Dell laptop to connect to the monitor witha HDMI cable. It was working fine before upgrade and suddenly it stoped working after the OS upgrade.

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I have read your post on how your notebook computer's monitor will not produce any sound after upgrading to Windows 10, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter! According to the available list of supported drivers for your monitor, there is currently no Windows 10 software published at the moment.  In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on HP Products - Where do I find Windows 10 drivers and software for my model? I also suggest connecting the monitor on a different computer to test the hardware functionality of the speakers. I hope this helps! Best Regards

  • Sound distorted after upgrade to windows 10

sound playing is generalldistorted after upgrade to windows 10 pro. Individual sound elements in windows sound scheme seem to be OK.

Yup, you're not the only one with audio problems. I have a HP Split X2 also, my model is the m121-sa. The problem is that the company that makes the audio chips is IDT which has been sold to a new company called Tempo Semi Conductors (This has been done in early 2014). The new company will have to provide new Windows 10 drivers to support our audio chips, whilst they have made Windows 10 drivers for their newer chips; our old ones has no current drivers made officially for Windows 10. Microsoft are aware of this problem and will not be making any drivers - their solution is to use the Microsoft drivers by unistalling the driver through device manager and updating the driver to the Microsoft High Definition ones. The problem with the HP Split is that you loose beats audio and the audio is quiet, but it works on all apps. NEITHER HP OR MICROSOFT WILL PROVIDE A DRIVER That is above the IDT .6499. It is upto Tempo Semi Conductors to do this and they don't provide end user drivers but OEM's like HP. The problem only lies with metro apps, win32 apps such as Chrome has audio working... If you are having problems with the audio being quiet with the HP Windows 8 drivers (IDT), use the following settings. (though, I think my laptop is defective, but my warranty is gone so, I just turn up the treble - even though it sounds high pitched)  On a side note, my other laptop (Toshiba) have been good by providing drivers for all components - Hopefully, Tempo do provide support for IDT as not only HP but other companies also use this chip. By the way, do you problems with start menu being black and blurrly text? For some reason, Windows 8 drivers don't do this but Intel Windows 10 drivers do this. Miracast also only works on the .37 driver and not the newest Windows 10 driver; will need to test this further. Yes there are new TEMPO drivers, but these again  are for the new chips and not our old ones. It didn't work on my HP Split but you can try them below: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71717.html - notes for new driver 6.10.6504.0 http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501.exe - setup 6.10.6504.0 (64 BIT ONLY; WILL NOT WORK ON 32BIT) 32bit driver is 6.10.6503.0 EDIT: HP seems to be deleting my images. Not sure why.

Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.
