[HP PAVILION DV6T-7000 (A5F76AV)] Can the graphics card be upgraded?
Hi.
My [HP DV6T-7000 (A5F76AV)] has a dedicated NVIDIA GT-650M 2GB graphics card. Would it be possible to upgrade this to say GTX-680M or higher?
Thanks.
According to the HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service Guide, the discrete graphics adapter is part of the system board and only came in four versions;
NVIDIAR GeForceR 630M with 1024-MB of dedicated video memory (64-MB×16 DDR3 900-MHz×8 PCs)NVIDIAR GeForceR 630M with 2048-MB of dedicated video memory (128-MB×16 DDR3 900-MHz×8 PCs)
NVIDIAR GeForceR 650M with 1024-MB of dedicated video memory (32-MB×32 GDDR5×8 PCs, 5Gbps)NVIDIAR GeForceR 650M with 2048-MB of dedicated video memory (64-MB×32 GDDR5×8 PCs, 5Gbps)
There is no possibility of upgrading the existing adapter to a GTX-680M.

HP PAVILION DV6T-7000 (A5F76AV) ..Display and keyboard
Hi
The screen on my notebook [HP PAVILION DV6T-7000 (A5F76AV)] does not have good vewing angles, it glares alot. Is it possible to upgrade the screen? I think it is a stantard HD type with 1366 x 768 px resolution, and I'm hoping to upgrade it to a WUXGA anti glare type screen with 1920 x 1200 or 1080 px resolution.
I checked on hp'partsurfer and I guess this is what i'm looking for: ( 682068-001SPS-DSPLY HU 15.6 FHD AG ALU DSC )
I'm currently in saudi arabia. Can you please tell me if the screen can be upgraded here?
Apart from that the keyboard does not have a backlight. Can I upgrade the keyboard to a backlit keyboard?
Thanks.

Only at the point of ordering from the Apple store. Select the required Video card at that point, because it can't be changed later.

Can the Graphics card on an iMac 24" be upgraded?
Not an expert on graphic cards, but can the ones in an iMac 20" or 24" be upgraded whenever a better one is released? I don't mind taking it to the Apple Store if that's they only way to upgrade it.
Also has anyone ever run Oblivion with Parallels or on Windows-on-Mac after installing it with Boot Camp?Currently no such upgrade program has been announced. There has been some rumbling on the web that it might be upgradeable. But Apple has not officially announced a path. Any such upgrades would have to be done out of warranty unless you saw a program on the Do-It-Yourself pages of Apple's support webpage for the iMac.

Need a Recovery CD for HP Pavilion dv6t-7000, want to purchase the cd from south america
Hi there:
I accidentally deleted all partitions from my HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 hard disk, I need the recovery disk, where can I purchase and download it?If you know someone in the USA... order the discs or have them order the discs and send to their address. Once they receive the discs, have them mail the disc set to you in Venezuela.
Alternatively, if you can still read the 25-digit Windows product key on the Microsoft COA affixed to the bottom the computer, you can install Windows 7 using this key. Please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" for instructions on how to download Windows 7, create the installation media, and install Windows 7 using the 25-digit product key from the Microsoft COA on your computer. Using this method will not install any HP customizations or value-added software and you will have to manually install all needed drivers.

Heat cpu/hdd hp pavilion dv6t-7000
Product name: HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook
Problem: Over heating on the CPU and fan noizes
More details: O.S. Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
CPU: Intel Core i7-3610 QM @ 2.30 GHZ
RAM: 8.00 GB
64 Bit
My message:
Greetings fellas, so i got this problem on my laptop i bought about a year ago, ive formatted it only once, and recently (2 months ago) i noticed over heating on the CPU, im almost sure its the CPU because i downloaded the SW SpeedFan and it shows the CPU has between 40° C - 50° C, all though the HDD shows overheating sometines so it maybe that too.
Im concerned about this because sometimes when its on 50°c or above the fan starts to speed up and makes loud noizes, i searched for some information about this and on the user guide it says that this particular model, on an operating environment, needs to fluctuate between 5°c - 35°c. (I dont know if its talking about the CPU temp. or the physical environment of the room).
So my question is, what are the recommended temp. for this laptop?
besides the dust accumulation, what can cause overheating?
im afraid these temp. may harm the hardware, is this normal? what can i do to reduce the heat?
(i also bought a usb fan cooling system, it helps but i still get these fan noizes from time to time. Also id like to mention that whenever i grab the laptop from its sides it seems like the pressure i make with my hands makes even more heat because instantly the fan starts speeding up, and therefore i need to grab it really carefully so it wont heat up.)
P.S.
The heat sensation takes part right beside the toouchpad (left side).
Hope you can help me undesrtand why this happens, how to prevent it, and how to fix this.
Thanks in advance. With the warranty i mean you can modify it if you want but then the problem can become worse.
A laptop is designed for a good airflow to cool components. If you change anything the airflow can be worse. (and you loose your warranty.)
But there is one problem about your model, it's not designed for teardown.
You can take some think needles and stick them into the fan if you can acces it from the outside.
Then take your vacuum cleaner to suck the dust out of your laptop. But nake sure the fan doesn't move.
if you can get your keyboard out then it will be easy to stop the fan otherwise i think you should let it go
I found this one
http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c03582006-1.pdf
But i doubt if it's worth it
You don't need to kill your laptop for a bit dust cleaning

P2PP Boot Check Failed - Pavilion dv6t-7000 Quad Edition (Windows 7) using Recovery Media
Hello, My name is Brandon Giesel and I have an HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 Quad Edition laptop. I've been using Windows 7 recovery media (part # 689366-002) to attempt to restore my computer back to factory defaults. I run the recovery dvds as instructed with disc 1, disc 2, disc 3, and application and driver recovery dvd. I've tried reseting the bios back to setup defaults to be safe and I use the boot device options to select the built-in dvd/cd-rom drive. I've also installed a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium using the box set dvd I have laying around home and it installed no problem and boots to the desktop, but ofcourse doesn't have all the necessary drivers and hp software. I did this to confirm that hardware works properly. The computer also passes the start-up test. Memory and Hard Drive passed the test. The recovery seems to go through without a hitch until I hit the end and I get an error message that I believe is pointing to the network controller not functioning correctly. Error message down below... I used the same recovery media that I've used successfully in the past and tried 3 different sets of recovery media all with matching part numbers with no success. I also tried installing Windows using a MS box installation disc and installed the Realtec Ethernet Controller driver thinking that if I got the ethernet driver installed before doing the recovery that it would allow the recovery to go through successfully, but that didn't work either. Do you guys or gals have any ideas or suggestions on possible fixes? I'm open to advanced solutions. I've gone through Microsoft Windows 8.1 MCSA certification training, but this one has me absolutely stumped. What you do to alleviate the issue is up to you, like I said.
I could think of more draconian methods to dim the lights.
You can get some black nail polish, or black enamel car paint in one of those small bottles, and paint over them if you want.
You can figure out a way to break them.
They are not designed to be turned off or dimmed with software or settings. -

Hi,
Upgrading graphics chips on laptops is very difficult and mostly impossible because the chips are soldered to the motherboard. You can upgrade the graphics chip by replacing the motherboard with a compatible one which has a more powerful graphics chip. In your case it is a mobo with an Nvidia GF GT650M with 2GB of DDR5 RAM. However, the motherboard costs approx $600. The part number you need is: 682040-001.
It looks like M7series laptops are compatible with Dv7-6000 series laptops. See a service manual:

No service available for HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 in India
I bought a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 in the US. On an exchange program, I came to India and within two days, the notebook developed a defect. I am not asking for the solution to the defect, all I want to know is whom to contact for my notebook. The service centre in India washed its hands off my product by saying that it is not supported in India. Now I have important work lined up and I have nowhere to go.
I have forwarded your post to the right people for their review. You should hear back from someone shortly via Private Message on this forum.

The boot error is:
Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.

Could a faulty BIOS update cause this problem?
Anyone else who may have experienced a similar problem?
I'd appreciate any help about this problem. Thanks.Hi

I've got a 17" Mac Book Pro with Snow Leopard and Final Cut Studio 2 . Compressor 3 is only giving MOV-1 which are no use to me. So I've bought Compressor 4 from the App store which it says isn't compatible with the graphics card on my 2008 mbp. Can I
Install a new graphics card on my computer if so which one? If not can I solve the MOV-1 problem ?
Thanks in anticipation

More details about Surprising LV global variable of type 2
I'm using a type 2 global variable because I need a big data array shared by two parallel VI, so this data array is manipulated in a subVI non reentrant. One input of this subVI is an enum called method which represents what action to do on the data
