HP Pavilion dv7-3014eo Bios corrupted - How to restore is successful?

My computer HP Pavilion dv7-3014eo BIOS is corrupted. NumLock and CapsLock lights blink twice and the screen is blank. I've tried bios recovery Windows + B buttons but still nothing happens.
Is the computer anymore nothing to be done?

  • HP Pavilion dv7 notebook, Windows 7: How do I disable an audio jack?

My Pavilion dv7 notebook includes two audio jacks for headphones on its right side (my left when facing it.) Long story short, a hefty piece of an iPod headphone has dislodged and been stuck inside one of these two jacks; there's no way I'd be able to remove it without taking apart the notebook. I can still receive audio via headphones when I plug headphones into the other jack, but I can no longer receive audio from the internal speakers.
I'd like to diasble both headphone jacks manually when I'd like to hear the speakers --  but I can't figure out how. When I access my 'Speakers and Headphones Properties' (IDT High Definition Audio Codec, through Sounds --> Playback Devices) and attempt to disable the device, all sound is disabled. There appears to be no way to selectively disable either just the speakers or just the headphones.
    Any ideas?

...I'm still curious as to whether I can receive any assistance regarding this issue.

  • HP Pavilion p7 1040L bios corrupted

My PC is an HP Pavilion p7 1040L.
I updated the bios on Windows 7 Professional  64-bit, but my PC froze for a long time and I had to shut it down.
The bios file was downloaded from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-102192-1&cc=id&dlc=en&lc=en...
When I turned the PC on, there was just 8 times beeps with orange flashing power button and no video signal. After 8 beeps, the PC was still on and power button turn blue but there was still no activity and blank screen.
From the documentation I know that the bios has been corrupted.
I have tried the boot block recovery using USB flash drive with several rom names like HPBIOS.ROM, AMIBOOT.ROM, HPBIOS.BIN, etc. but the flash drive only accessed for several seconds but then no activity. The rom file I used was the file from bios update since I don't have the current bios.
    Please help.

I see that this model first introduced in June of 2011 - so it should still be in normal warranty.
I could contact support for your country and request a service event be scheduled to get it repaired - this likely needs a motherboard replacement.

  • HP Pavilion g6-1c43nr Bios Corrupted

When i reformatted my HP Pavilion g6-1c43nr (new HDD) i also updated my BIOS. but in the middle of the setup my laptop lost power, this was due to my faulty AC Adaptor. now i can power up the laptop but still no display. 2 blinks in the caps lock LED means that the BIOS is not loading well.
since i replaced the OEM HDD, i have no HP_TOOLS partition in my current hard drive. and ive read that i can do this with a flash drive. can someone help me on how to to recover my bios via a flash drive ? TIA

  • HP Pavilion dv6-7010us BIOS corrupted

    Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion dv6-7010us laptop that I bought about 3 months ago. Two weeks ago, I was gifted a Windows 8 OS and wanted to upgrade my OS. As I wanted to change the boot order in setup, I handed the laptop to my brother who went on flashing the BIOS in my absence.
He later on put off the laptop while still in the process of flashing the BIOS. Now, when I put it on, the screen remains black and the caps lock key keeps flashing; the WiFi key also turns amber as the power is on.
I have tried tried the hard reset in vain without any results. I read in some forum some crisis recovery of corrupted BIOS  and downloaded the latest BIOS update for my laptop model.
My problem however is that, while the possible solutions talk about Winflash and some .fd or .bin file, I could not get any of those files. When I extracted the BIOS file, it gives me an InsydeFlash utility and some .dll files but no .fd file.
Can someone help me flash my BIOS while the laptop boot always fails?
    Thanks

    Try the process described here:

  • DV7-2123eo Bios Corrupted

    Hello!
I have a serious problem, my laptop hp dv7-2123eo crashed on win7 install and now blink lights blink 2 times (Bios Failure)... ok i formed USB stick and try to force bios to boot in usb, but nothing happens...
so few questions: 1. is it insyde bios? 2. what is force keys?
Sorry for bad english, hope someone get it
    Thx

Hello ArskaSA... I'm sorry you're having this issue with your dv7-2123eo.
It may be possible to recover the BIOS on this unit.  You may want to try downloading and creating the 3-in-1 diagnostics key from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp69001-69500/sp69063.exe.  After completing the key, refer to theREADME_ReStart.txt file for instructions on how to use the key to attempt to recover BIOS.
If the 3-in-1 key does not work, you will need to cotnact HP SUpport to see about getting the system board serviced.
Good luck, and please let us know if this helped out!

  • Pavilion g6-1180sa Bios corrupted

    Hi,
Yesterday I was using my laptop and I was working on battery. I was checking a setting about boot order in the bios and I restarted my computer, then the computer stop working. NOw it seems as the BIOS is corrupted. I tried to boot it up with a cd and with a usb., I use the key Win+B and that wouldnt work to make the computer boot from the cd.
Can Anybody please help me? Is there any specific key combination to make it to work? or when turning it on?
My computer is less than 1 year but I bought it in Ireland and now I leave in Belgium.
    Thank you very much!

No problem. Aren't you a lucky devil !
I do suggest that you go immediately to the HP web support portal for your notebook. Download the UEFI environment executable.  Follow the instructions and install it.
UEFI does give you a way to back out of a bad BIOS update with a rollback function unlike earlier notebook BIOS setups which do not.

  • Hp pavilion dv6-2115sv - bios corruption

    Hello,
i have a hp pavillion dv6-2115sv notebook and it deos not start, i have a black screen, caps lock and num lock blink twince.
    - I tried disconecting the battery and hold down the power button for 1 min, no change.
    - remove bio battery, no change,
    - try to restore bios from hp tools partition (usb), hold down win+b, laptop bip once and shut down.
    - i have put the .fd bios file on usb stick, and even rename it to .bin, no change.
So the laptop is still dead, if you have any advice please help.

Used or New? You can find them over ebay, if I were you though, I would just look into an upgrade I see laptops like yours sell for around $120-140 on ebay all the time! If I were you I would look into an intel core i5 laptop I say i5 because they have just about as many features (depending on which processor) as the i7's! Plus less heat produced than an i7. Well then again, I guess it really depends on what you are doing with your laptop, if you only use it for browsing and nothing like video or photo editing than you could just go for a lower end Also, I forgot to ask, how do you know your motherboard is toast? You may be able to fix it on your own! That is if it actually is a motherboard issue...

  • Dv4-2160 bios corrupted, how to repair from usb

I have a dv4-2160us that only powers up briefly, basically flashes, then shuts down. i have read and determined this may be a problem with the bios. i have created a usb uefi w/ HP_TOOLS label and have tried to follow the instructions to prep it for recovery. When i power up the dv4 using the win+b and power, it comes on and tries to access the usb drive but nothing happens. the process seems to repeat endlessly. can someone tell me the correct procedure to prep the usb drive for bios update or repair by usb?

Thank you for your reply. Neither of these solutions applied to the malfunction i am experiencing.
When i attempt to power up the notebook, it flashes power for a second then cuts off. The volume touch control above the keyboard flashes briefly during this short time. I have tried removing pci-e cards, memory, drives, etc to see if that would allow the pc to boot and none helped. The only way to get any kind of resopnse out of this pc is by pressing win+B while pressing the power button. The pc powers on but to only a blank screen. If i have a usb drive inserted, it periodicly check this for something as if its looking for something to boot from.
Now i have read that you can create a bootable usb drive using "HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Support Environment" and "HP USB Recovery Flash Disk Utility" basically you get the uefi utility with the "HP_TOOLS" labeled partition. I have also read that it is possible to actually install bios revisions to this usb drive by using a option in some downloaded bios upgrade packages on a working pc so it may then be inserted into a pc with a malfunctioning bios and updated using the win+B feature.
When i create my usb drive, it appears it has a place for this including folders for flash programs and bios files. The latest bios for the dv4-2160 however, when run on a working computer with the "HP_TOOLS" usb drive inserted, does not give me an option to install the bios to the USB drive. Is there a way to put the flash program and bios files on a properly configured & formatted usb for the dv4-2160us?

  • Imac corrupted, how to restore

iMac has become corrupt and display is unreadable, rebooted and it has remained the same. Any advice?

I've managed to get into the recovery but the screen is still all over the place, it loads but then starts to get worse the more you move the mouse.
I did manage to check the disk and the results came back as good.
I'm just worried reinstalling the OS won't resolve the display issues?
    thanks for your help.

  • Final Cut Pro X Project file corrupt, how to restore for backup when not prompted by the program?

We have a project on an iMac 13 4gb RAM. We have discovered that it is not the event, but instead it is the project file that has become corrupted. When we try to poen FCPX it crashes, and reports that it has crashed. however, if we remove the project file and leave the event and then try to open FPCX, there is no problem. Looking online, usually FCPX asks if you want to open from the backup hat FCPX makes of yourproject. However, since we cannot opn FCPX with the project, then we cannot do this!
Just as a side note, this is a VCE media project that is due tomorrow... So any ideas are extremely welcome!!!

This is absolutely ridiculous:  a Project is a work so complicated, there should be MULTIPLE backups (as in Logic or Photoshop) and an easy "Restore from Backup" File command!  Instead, you must manually COPY from the backup folder in Finder -- OUTSIDE the program (and which contains only the most RECENT backup) into the parent project folder for the particular project.  This capability is almost useless, since the only backup you have might be just 15 minutes old.  Then you are up a creek.
Fortunately there is Time Machine, and you can use that to go back far enough to find the work you accidentally destroyed (or APPLE destroyed) and MANUALLY copy that over into the correct folder using Time Machine restore procedures.
I am finding, which led to rant, that when I delete an Audio Effect, the Whole Project is deleted when the audio track is selected.  I'm doing something wrong, or here's more work for the programmers.
Really, this is unacceptable work.  And thank goodness for my Time Machine.  Program 101 in work like this is MULTIPLE backup capability and an easy restore command.
This needs to be addressed pronto.  I'm holding my breath.

  • Icons corrupted - how to restore?

    Hi,
Following a sync today I noticed that many of the music folder icons on my 3GS have become either blank or replaced with incorrect ones. It seems the icon folder database has become corrupted.
Is there any simple way to restore it?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Well, I've tried resetting but with no luck..
I am not sure I want to do a full restore, new folders have their correct icons, and there seem to be no other issues. I can just survive with a few folders haveing generic icons!
    Thanks again for the help.

I have replaced the CMOS battery and changed the CMOS jumper but nothing has worked. Can anyone provide the original BIOS file so I can try and re-flash it?
Or does anyone have any other suggestion?

  • How do I enable TPM in the bios on Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

    Hi,
I have run into a problem trying to enable MS Bitlocker on Windows 8.1 on
Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC
    BIOS version is: F.1C
In the Windows UI, the TPM (Trusted Computing Module) management console says that I need to enable TPM in the BIOS.
    Issue:
There does not appear to be any proverbial "on" switch in the BIOS for TPM versions 1.2 (or 2).
    Question:
Anyone out there know how to resolve this?
I know there may be a way to get around this using group policy on the machine or to buy a USB key solution.
Looking for the hardware solution in the laptop if possible please.
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi:
As far as I am aware, HP consumer notebooks do not have a Trusted Platform Module chip.
Check the device manager...if there is a TPM chip, there will be a Security Devices category in the device manager, and you would see the TPM chip listed under that category.
If not, then there isn't one.
