Hello schneids,
I see that you are having start up problems with your HP computer. I have a couple of suggestions that may help with your issues.
Here is a link to some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve your issues.
If you are still having trouble I would suggest testing the power adapter or trying a different power adapter. Most retailers will let you try a power adapter on the computer to see if it works.
Let me know what happens.

  • Internal mic not working after updating to 10.10.1

After updating to 10.10.1 (from 10.10) on my MacBook pro 2010 (15” screen) the internal mic is not working when using FaceTime (or Skype) and so the person on the other end of the video/audio call is unable to hear me. On my end there is a static/crackly sound during FaceTime (or Skype) connecting  since the update which I believe is related to the mic problem (no sound input on Mac during FaceTime/Skype).
    HELP!!!

I had exactly this same issue and and this workaround from Paul on another thread (Internal Mic not working for phone calls in Yosemite ) solved it :
Make sure FaceTime App is not running
    Open Terminal
    type sudo killall coreaudiod
    Press Return

  • X220 Internal Mic not working

I had just get a new X220 in recent days.
And I found the internal mic not working, I can not record any sound through Sound Record or Skype.
I had tried all the following methods, but the mic still can not working. Anyone cound give me some suggestion ?
    1) update sound card driver to 8.32.23.2
    2) Fn+F6,  change between "only my voice" or "Multiple voice"
    4) UnInstall source card driver and use microsoft generic driver
    3) The method in http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T420-internal-mic-problem/td-p/435551/page/..., operate like :
Start -> control Panel -> Sound
    Click on the "Recording" tab
Click Internal Microphone to highlight it
    Click Properties
    Click the "Advanced" tab
    Uncheck "Enable audio enhancements"
Finally, click the "Levels" tab and turn Microphone Boost to 0dB. (if you don't do this the noise will be even louder than before).
    Click apply.

    hey kitewind,
welcome to the forums and since you have tested the microphone using microsoft generic drivers and i'm guessing it did not work; therefore the best action for you right now is to contact our tech support group via

  • Internal Mic not Working, external mic quits arbitrarily, I'm at wit's end!!!!

    Hey kids!
    The Computer: Toshiba Satellite A355D-S69221
The Program: 32 Bit Windows Vista
The issue: Internal Mic not recognized, external mic quits midway through conversation, Realtek Digital output not plugged in.
So being the smart guy I am, a few weeks back I decided to do the smart thing and delete all the speech recognition software off this thing. I don't need it, so wth.
Now, my internal mic quit. I reinstalled the software, rolled back drivers, deleted drivers to rebuild the driver stack, did a BIOS update, did the GTA ViceCity cheatcode start (unplug everything hold power key 30 seconds, reboot, f2 to enter bios, f9 to update, f10 to save), and nothing.
I did notice that when I had the Realtek Digital Output set as standard, my mic jack was illuminated by a red LED, and the Realtek HD manager wouldn't pop up when I plug something in.
The last irritating part is that I will talk to my wife via vo/ip, the external mic I am using will just quit mid conversation, and I have to reload a driver to get it to work again. I am at my wit's end with this thing, can anyone help? The last thing I am goign to do is another system restore from an earlier date than I used before. Does anyone have any other hints/clues/ideas?
    KFD

Thanks Jeff. No this isn't some kind of emergency so no one really minds my tinkering until it does get back up.
OK, I got it now. This is what my cyrus.conf looks like. It doesn't look like there's anything wrong with it...

Click the Microphone Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Disable microphone enhancements'. Click Apply and Ok to save this change and the restart the notebook - has this made any difference?”

  • HP Pavilion Notebook Webcam/Mic not working

Hello! I have an HP Pavilion laptop.
    Product Number: E8B92UA#ABA
Recently I've been having an issue with my internal webcam and microphone. Sometimes they would work and sometimes they wouldn't. I've done all cookie cutter quick fixes, reinstalling drivers, refreshing pc, system restart, etc etc. Nothing works. I read that it could be a hardware issue and to move the screen back and forth to see if that affected the webcam/mic's ability to work. Sure enough, moving my screen would sometimes trigger them either on or off.
Now they won't turn on at all.
    At all.
I'm very frustrated at this point. My spouse and I are currently in yet another long-term long-distance relationship and it's pretty much imperative that these two things work. I'd rather not have to buy an external webcam/mic.
I have seen a lot of posts and tutorials regarding the Pavilion DV7 and how to plug the webcam back in beneath the screen. I have opened the screen on mine to see if there are any noticeable issues or things out of place, but mine looks completely different from what I've seen in those tutorials.
    Here is a picture:
    Sorry it's a bit blurry.
Anyway, does ANYONE know how I can fix this without spending money I don't have?
    Thanks!

    @tayhub ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.
Based on what you have shown on your post and as well what you have done it looks as if you may have an actual cable issue.  Even if you look at the unit itself and things look ok the cable or the connector at the motherboard may have an issue.  Here is a link to the notebooks maintenance manual.
    Maintenance and Service Guide
You may be able to source the problem at the motherboard side where the connector has come loose.  If not you would want to replace the cable for the webcam connection.  If all else fails HP phone support can set up a repair for this issue.

  • Internal mic not working on macbook pro

    Hello,
A few days ago I was trying to use my macspeech dictate software on my new macbook pro for the first time, I had to plug in the mic it came with and it would not work. Now my internal mic will not work at all in any other programs. I made sure it was selected under system preferences but for some reason it does not pick up on any sounds. I have my computer all up to date with version 10.6.8. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
    Thank you

I doubt that the update did it, My daughter Macbook has it too and it is a general update of Yosemite. But, if you can backup your files you could go to the restore partition and reinstall Yosemite. The reinstall only installs the operating system and usually does not alter any of the other files. But having a backup is always a good idea. You can start by holding down Option or Option R at startup to do the reinstall.I cannot tell you that this will fix the internal mic problem as it could be that it is defective.

  • Re: Satellite C650D - internal mic not working

    Hello forum
When i was trying to mute the internal mic, I accidently removed the mic and its driver completely a few days from now,
and after reinstalling the driver i cannot get the mic to pick up sounds.
I'm not even sure if the internal mic is visible in the "recording devices" tab, what I see is "Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD".
Might be the internal one, might also just be the external mic i use sometimes.
    Help me please.

    Hi mate
You can try to reinstall the Conexant sound driver again. Usually this should detect all sound devices and mic even if it was disabled previously!
The necessary driver can be found on the Toshiba European driver page.
    Another tip:
You should check the audio settings in Control Panel -> Sound -> recording tab
Here you should see two entries: internal mic and external mix which should not be enabled/detected if the external mic was not connected.
The internal mic should be set as default!

  • Nb305-n440 internal mic not working

I just got a new mini netbook and am trying to work with the internal mic.  I have gone through the set up steps to no avail.  It's a Realtek High Definition Audio on the ATAPI internal jack.  I have made changes to all the settings I could find but still the mic doesn't pick up my voice even when yelling close to the screen.  In the set up I can see the level move very slightly when tapping the screen near the mic opening.  I have turned off all sound effects in the enhancements tab.  The mic and mic boost are all the way up and its not on mute.
I really like this netbook and want it to work to its fullest.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

The internal speakers on my notebook stopped working.
I followed the instructions in another thread here which involved uninstalling the IDT device ands its drivers and downloading and installing sp48830.exe.
However, when I tried reinstalling from the download.  I get the error "The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package.  The install will be aborted".

  • Internal Mic not showing up at all

cannot find the internal mic on my A215-s5837 any where in the sounds option or in the device manager.  I installed an webcam and mic.  The webcam works great but the mic is not working at all nor can the computer see it.  I am running Windows 7.

I hope you backed up before this happened.
Okay solution to get info back.
Go to ebay and get one of the laptop hd to desktop hd connectors about $6-12 or a USB/FIREWIRE ($25 max) external enclosure for 2.5" drives as then you can install a new drive and still try to access it via USB/FIREWIRE
This will work if you have a desktop Win or Apple and then you can use a descent software to access it.
If not then send it to the manufacturer and then can make a backup for you or take the disc platter looking like a dvd / cd and place it in a new working device so you can get access as likely the motor died on the hd or the circuit board/firmware is bust but the disc platter might be in tackt.
Good Q? does the drive spin up ?
I have seen that a good format "erase can get life out of it " but it does not help for info/files.
PS: if you have tiger do not use panther disk utility as there is different thingy's they use and this does screw up a drive but nothing a erase/format can not fix.

  • Pavilion dv7-3165dx will not boot up

This pavilion dv7-3165dx has worked flawlessly for 8 years. Now when I turn it on, the lights come on and the fan runs, but nothing loads up, not Windows, not BIOS, nothing. The screen stays blank. I have cycled the power several times with the same result. I checked the BIOS battery, and it is good: 3.25 volts.

    Hi there @Terry49,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that your notebook is no longer starting up properly, and I am happy to help with this.
I would start out with this process, and see if there is any change. It is possible that just the hard reset is required.
Computer Does not Start (Windows 7, Vista, XP)
Also check your power adapter, and if you have another one, try it out, and also try a different wall outlet.
    I hope this helps.
