  • X121e randomly wake up from suspended status and real time clock error

    Hi all
Previously I considered my x121e suffer from overheating issue and causes real time clock error (RTC). However, after more testing and investigation, I believe the problem is related to other hardware issues and I like to hear people opinion before sending the laptop back to Lenovo.
The machine goes into suspend status either pressing the power button or closing the lid from Windows7 (clean install) without problem. However, it would wake up itself randomly, "beep" twice and screen shows RTC and CMOS checksum error. This happen more often when I am holding the machine (i.e. some movement/vibration). I wonder:
    - Is it the RTC battery problem, cause the RTC to wake up the machine?
    - Other hardware failure?
The laptop has a clean OS installed/recovered. Latest 1.16 Bios installed. No USB or memory card attached. Ram replaced and not the cause.
    Please advise
    Howard

    Hello,
I am unsure; you would have to contact Lenovo directly and find out how they handle this situation.  They may want the ThinkPad X121e back so they can run thorough diagnostics on it, just in case the problem is something else.  That way it gets fixed the first time.

  • Error: 0271: Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings.

    Hello all,
I have lenovo T430s laptop that is configured with Bitlocker encruptions and TPM PIN entry. I don't think that has anything to do with the error msg I am getting but here it is. Error: 0271: Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings.
Press Esc to continue or F1 to enter setup. I am unable to get into BIOS or even the login screen for Windows 7.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for the help.  Just want to close this out.  I had a IBM/Lenovo technician here today and he replaced the CMOS battery.  Upon the change, the computer is fine being reconnected to the dock (the three times I tried it).  So it has been resolved with the battery.  Surprised by the incompatibility claim because I am not having issues now.  Wondering if it's just a USB 2.0 vs. 3.0 thing (and Lenovo trying to sell more peripherals, of course).
    Thanks!

  • Hardware Clocking Error PCI-5122

I tried to run the vi attached (which i've run many times before) and my computer bluescreen.  When it rebooted, I could no longer use my PCI-5122 digitizer card.  When I try to do a device test or device reset in MAX, it tells me that theres a hardware clocking error..   I was using an external trigger for the aquisition, but don't think I was using an external reference clock.  Could someone help me fix this?

    Hi,
This error may be the result of a hardware failure where the only
solution is a repair or replacement. There are however, some basic
troubleshooting steps that have been known to correct this issue
    without a return.
Reboot the PC or PXI controller.
Try a different PCI or PXI slot.
Update the driver to the latest version.
If possible try the card on a different machine.
If these steps to not correct the issue then it is likely the
board requires repair which can be arranged by contacting National
    Instruments Technical support (in france: 01 57 66 24 24).

  • MOVED: Base Clock Error Occured + Shut down every 30 minutes

This topic has been moved to Intel Core-iX boards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=173484.0

I had my motherboard checked by the technicians nearby and found out that my motherboard is a victim of static.  Good thing it is still within warranty so they decided to replace it.  I have been running my rig for two weeks now and so far neither regular shutdowns nor Base Clock errors were encountered.
My BIOS is still 1.5 and so far I don't have any issues with it.
But just to answer xmad's question:
Is the Ram installed into the 2nd and last DIMM from the CPU?
Yes, i had this one checked and rechecked
What are the temps during a stress test?
i forgot.. but it was below 90C
Does the Behavior still occur with a single stick of ram installed into DIMM 2?
       yea, unfortunately

  • Hardware clocking error # 200550, PCI-5122

The PCI-5122 does not pass the self test. It
says "error 200550 occured. Possible reason: Hardware clocking error
occured". I'm not using any external clock and my PC is 3Ghz pentium
with Windows XP and Labview 7.0. Uninstall/install of NI_Scope and NI DAQmx didn't
    help.
By the way, if I put PCI-5911 card instead of PCI-5122 into the same PCI slot, it works fine.

    Hello Danraz,
It sounds like you have followed all of the recommended steps for troubleshooting for this type of error.  As one additional step you could test it in another PC if you have one available.  Unfortunately, you will most likely need to send your board in for repair.  Please contact support to make arrangements.  You will be asked to provide them the serial number of your board in order to have the board repaired, and they may also verify your troubleshooting steps at this time.

  • MSI XPower OC Genie - Base Clock Error!!

Every time I open CommandCenter I get this Base Clock Error!! Message...
I just used OC Genie (2nd level - RED), and it looks like it can't OC my CPU but still uses the XMP of my RAM, so what gives?
    Anyone?

I had a similar result with IBT.  It scared the crap out of me.  I think I hit 98c on one core  I couldn't hit the stop button fast enough.
I know what you mean. Seeing 90C or more does make one give a double take.     I am sure if I would have used IBT at 50X, the CPU would be screaming for life and shutdown to save itself.
Another anomaly I can't explain is when running real world apps and programs for further stability testing at both 47X and at 50X, none of the CPU cores went over 64C at either speed! I can only come to a conclusion concerning this that these CPU's or this platform is really smart and only uses what it needs to do the job asked of it.
Another feature of this platform that I 'really' like is the power saving is still intact even when the CPU V. is taken out of Auto.
I probably better leave the thread as I don't really have the exact same board or components as you and the OP have. My results and experiences with this platform may not be typical or apply to yours for comparison. I will add that as long as the CPU IMC can handle it, the Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM has been outstanding! RAM speed of 2666 @ 50X is not too shabby, but again, all depends on the CPU IMC.

  • Clock error

Ok. For the past couple days I have been having an issue with trying to get a game to load on my ipod. Every time I go to load it, it comes up with a clock error. Saying that the device clock is incorrect. I have tried adjusting the clock time, power cycling the device, uninstalling the game and reinstalling the game, I have reset the network settings. Everything short of restoring the ipod itself. As I have a different computer now, I will lose everything if I restore to factory.Any help would be appreciated.

  • Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings, System CMOS Checksum bad

    Hello everybody,
Can help anyone to resolve my problem.
I have an Thinkpad W520 (42823FG), BIOS 8BET60WW 1.4        When I disconect AC power and remove battery and connect again, I see this message on screen:
"Real Time Clock Error - Check Date and Time settings, System CMOS Checksum bad
Press Esc to continue or F1 to enter Setup"
Is this a system board problem or CMOS battery problem ?
    Thank you

    Hello and welcome,
It's probably (hopefully) just the CMOS battery.  The easiest way to find out is to just replace that battery.

  • System Clock Error -- help me

    Hello
I'm a new Mac user. I just bought iBook G3 500 with Tiger on it. Every time I turn it on, I see clock error message. "Your computer's clock is set to a date before March 24th, 2001. This may cause some applications to behave erratically." And actually date & time is set at Dec 31, 1969. Of course, I changed the time and date and locked it. But once I turn it off and back on, it happens again. System error?

Between on and off, it was still plugged in. But battery seems totally dead. It doesn't hold any charge at all. Is it the problem of battery?
Another question is about memory and hard disk.
Now I have 384(128+256)MB and I'll have a 512MB stick soon, which makes 640MB. Does it help for performance?
Also I'll receive 40G Samsung MP0402H 5400 hard disk which will replace current 10G 4200 rpm. Will it help performance?
I'll get a fully chargeable battery soon.
    Thanks

  • Computer Clock Error

    Hello
I'm a new Mac user. I just bought iBook G3 500 with Tiger on it. Every time I turn it on, I see clock error message. "Your computer's clock is set to a date before March 24th, 2001. HI, Moonhill.
Unlike most other Macs, iBook's do not have a backup battery, which provides a trickle of power needed to retain settings in PRAM and NVRAM, such as system date and time.
iBooks use the system battery, i.e. the main battery, and a tiny capacitor to perform the functions of a backup battery in Macs so equipped. If you briefly remove the system battery and do not have the A/C adapter connected, the capacitor is supposed to retain the PRAM and NVRAM settings for a limited time. If this capacitor has failed — and it can happen on iBooks — then the date/time settings and other values in PRAM and NVRAM will not be retained if you remove the battery and the computer is also disconnected from A/C. In such a case, the computer has to be serviced to replace the capacitor.
I'm not sure if the Apple Hardware Test that should have been included with your computer will test this capacitor, but you can try it: see my "Apple Hardware Test" FAQ for comprehensive advice on using the Apple Hardware Test in troubleshooting, including running the test in Loop Mode.
Otherwise, if there is an Apple Retail Store in your area, I suggest you take the iBook there for examination.
    Good luck!

  • Wait for Next Sample Clock error, or 'How do I put this VI on a diet'?

    Hello!
In the attached VI I've been running since June, I have all the functionality I need.  No questions there at all, thanks to much time and help from this board!
My nagging problem is that any time I use the PC for other minor tasks other than Labview, it will display the following error:
209802 occurred at DAQmx Wait For Next Sample Clock.vi:1
A search earlier in the month indicated that it could have been a result of my old and outdated PC; I've since replaced it with a brand-new dell dimension 1100.  Celeron 2.53ghz with 1.00gb of ram.  Should be enough to service Labview and other minor tasks (automatic antivirus updating and also maintenance tasks).  However, any time any other program opens or even if the screen is scrolled around on Labview quickly, I get that same error.
Resource usage when idle, with nothing but this VI running is 5-10%, all labview.  Upon scrolling the VI, it quickly jumps to the 58-60% and above mark and soon throws that error.
I know that there's a lot of code here that can be cleaner--I know that even though it's functioning correctly, there could be a less resource-hogging way to go about it.  Can anyone give me any suggestions on how to make this VI a little 'lighter'?
    Thanks so much in advance,
    Ralph

    Hi Ralph,
The wait.vi waits until the amount of time has passed. While the wait on next ms.vi uses some kind of quotient and remainder on the computer time until the remainder passed zero.
In this way you can synchronize 2 loops, and somehow it is less time-consuming. The only difference you will see is in the first run!
There you see a smaller amount of time:

  • HP Pavilion dv6500 recovery system error 0x400100200001005

Hi, I have HP Pavilion dv6663cl notebook and the drive broke. It can not be recovered thus I replaced with new retail drive.
I run the recovery system from dvd but failed at 51% and gave the error 0x400100200001005. I tried several times but it always failed at 51% and same error.
I run hdd diagnostics from bios and the new hdd passed.
The recovery dvd was created with the original hdd. I used it before and it was successful to do recovery on the original drive.

    Two possible causes.
1-Is the new hard drive at least as large a capacity as the original? Can be larger but not smaller.
2-Is the new hard drive an Advanced Format hdd-usually stamped with AF on label.

  • No Internet conectivity/clock error when installing FB4.7 (trial)

    I follow these steps:
Install as trial-> (License) Accept -> Sign In Required (Click Sign In) [here I get the error: "Please connect to the Internet and retry: Either your computer is offline or the clock on your computer is set incorrectly"]
I've tried the "Connect Later" option that continues the installation procedure until the end, but when I try to open FB4.7 I get stuck at exactly the same point; it asks me to sign in and I get the same conectivity error.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Srikishan,
    Thanks for your fast answer.
I installed MaxDB DMB GUI from the directory:  \NWABAPTRIAL70206_64\MAXDBTOOLS
and logged in with username u201Ccontrolu201D and used the password I gave in the installation.
This was new for me and I learned something new about database management. Thank you for that.
I solved the error but it was just a really stupid mistake from me.
A friend told me once that when installing Netweaver I have to put the date in the future so that the license wonu2019t expire . So before I installed Netweaver I set the date to 2099.
That was the problem, when I didnu2019t do that then there was no error message.
    Again thanks for helping.
