    laptop                       : HP Pavilion g6-1200TX
    product number     :  QG468PA#ACJ
    operating system  : Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
    Sir
my laptop's air vents(fan) are not working properly and has become quite noisy.
this has resulted in very poor gaming performance.Earlier(6 or 7 mounths ago) while playing games (NFS THE RUN)the fan worked with a great speed and hence keeping the laptop cool and also giving quite good framerate between (18 -25).
But when i play it now the fan remains quite rotating with very less speed and also drastically heating up the laptop. As a result the framerate droped to (8-12).Even FULL HD videos run quite poorely.
I had spend loads of time updating all the componets (BIOS,grapics, chipset everything),but it didnt fix this issue.
i even restored my laptop and updated every thing, but still the issue remaines.
i thing i should have my fan cleaned up or replaced.
pls inform me of the cost for cleaning the fan and also replacing the fan.
    I bought my laptop on 25th october,2011. from Noida,Delhi,India.

my windows key below the laptop label has been gone ..how do i get back of my original key of windows 7?

    Dear Customer,
Welcome and Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Forum
This is to inform you that the product key information will be encrypted in the BIOS of your Notebook
Note: No more product key stickers
However on some notebook models product key information will  not be stored anywhere within HP or Microsoft and
on some notebook models product key is located on COA (Certificate of Authenticity). COA is a sticker which is sticked beneath your notebook. It looks like something that is shown in the following web link:
     http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00882033&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_...
    Tip Information:
    01. You don't need the product key information if you are using the HP Recovery Discs for your Notebook.
    02. The sticker is a bad design and print that why now they put inside the battery chamber
    03. For Windows 8 Operating System, the product key information will be put in the BIOS
Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

  • Pavilion 23-b026 BIOS problem

Pavilion 23-b026 BIOS does not allow EFI boot from CD/DVD. Even if the boot devices entry is edited and saved, ATAPI CD/DVD does not appear in the list of boot devices next time. Is there any UEFI-BIOS editing tool ?
(this for making PC Windows-8 + Linux dual boot)
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

As it turns out, UEFI boot loader needs FAT32 file system to read EFI boot file, hence CD/DVD is ruled out. USB disk/pen-drive is the option.
I burnt the linux ISO on usb disk & could boot the system in EFI mode from it! Linux installation was successful & Win-8+Linux are working fine in dual-boot mode.

  • HP Pavilion p7 1040L bios corrupted

My PC is an HP Pavilion p7 1040L.
I updated the bios on Windows 7 Professional  64-bit, but my PC froze for a long time and I had to shut it down.
The bios file was downloaded from here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=cp-102192-1&cc=id&dlc=en&lc=en...
When I turned the PC on, there was just 8 times beeps with orange flashing power button and no video signal. After 8 beeps, the PC was still on and power button turn blue but there was still no activity and blank screen.
From the documentation I know that the bios has been corrupted.
I have tried the boot block recovery using USB flash drive with several rom names like HPBIOS.ROM, AMIBOOT.ROM, HPBIOS.BIN, etc. but the flash drive only accessed for several seconds but then no activity. The rom file I used was the file from bios update since I don't have the current bios.
    Please help.

I see that this model first introduced in June of 2011 - so it should still be in normal warranty.
I could contact support for your country and request a service event be scheduled to get it repaired - this likely needs a motherboard replacement.

  • Hp Pavilion Tx1000 Bad Bios Flash

Hi everyone, I recently bought and hp pavilion tx1000 series (tx1030la) it has the common overheating problem in wich the GPU chip desolders, I fixed it with the help of some youtube videos (the penny fix) and everything was working perfectly until I decided to update the BIOS, I downloaded the latest bios for the machine from the official hp webpage, ran it and everything was going ok, then suddenly the fan started spinning like crazy and the computer shutted itself down, I knew that bios update had possibly failed and waiting for the worse I turned the computer on, It did nothing other than beeping in a pattern of 1 long beep then two short beeps, after trying the CRISIS method for recovering the bios without luck I read somewhere that the beep pattern exposed by my machine has something to do with a gpu failure, I tried the Fix I did the first time to solve it with no luck, and now I don't know what else to do as there is very few information regarding to the tx1000 Bios failure, there are much people fixing a bad flashed BIOS in DvXXXX models but none on txXXXX models, right now I'm desperate and I need the computer so bad, I tried The CRISIS fix with an usb stick as I don't have an USB floppy and the process reaches a point at where the computer starts to making a buzz sound and then a beep, buzz sound beep, and it keeps on doing it but never really finishes the flashing procedure, it seems to be reading the usb drive on the beginning but nothing happes, if i hold the windows key + b or Fn key + B makes no difference, the computer does the same if the Usb stick is connected and has the files for CRISIS recovery, but if the usb is not plugged the computer keeps on its one long two short beeps, please some help me i really need the computer, is there any chance to recover it by CRISIS!?, I can also buy a damaged tx1000 motherboard and take out the bios chip and replace it in my machine, you think that this will work!?

I think the gpu has failed again, if the bios was dead you would get no beeps, it is the bios that generates the hardware failure beeps.
Home brew reflows generally do not last too long or can cause more damage.
The reason the gpu comes loose on most of that vintage was due to 2 problems
    1. Overheating
    2. Poor quality solder used when the gpu and other motherboard components were flowed at the factory.
Reflowing it does not always work because of the quality of the ball solder they used, also you only get one reflow attempt, doing more than one weakens the original solder even more. Most likely the seller reflowed it shortly before selling it to you.
Proper repair is what is called a reball (solder replacement) of the gpu, not may repair facilities have the equipment to performed this, and is usually expensive procedure depending on the motherboard design.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-2025sl Bios Recovery

    Sorry For My Bad English.
i have a notebook hp pavilion dv6-2025sl wiwh a problem.
the PC startup but the screen is black and the led of keyboard light 2 time ( i read on hp site this is a problem with a bios).
I try with same method to recovery bios with pen drive but without solution.
    someone can help me Please!!!

Try reviewing this post to see if any of the information in it helps you as this case sounds very similar. The thread also has a link to a YouTube video that worked for someone.
    http://goo.gl/bVrAD
Also, did you try the two methods in this document exactly as they are outlined? As long as there is no underlying hardware issue, it should work.
    http://goo.gl/WQb43
You mentioned you tried the pen drive method and it did not work. What exactly did not work about it? Any error messages? What were the exact steps taken?

    Clearing the CMOS settings
    CAUTION:
Do not change any jumper setting while the computer is on. Damage to the motherboard can result.
    This motherboard has jumpers to:
Clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS.
    Clearing CMOS
To clear CMOS, follow these steps:
Temporarily set jumper CLRRTC1 to pins 1-2.
Wait 5-10 seconds and then return the jumper to pins 2-3.
When you startup the PC you will need to enter BIOS setup to reset any custom BIOS settings.
    Clearing the BIOS password
The BIOS password is used to protect BIOS settings from unwanted changes. If you have forgotten your password you may disable password checking.
To erase the BIOS password follow these steps:
Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
Locate the jumper labeled Clear P.W. The jumper is found at the lower right edge of the motherboard.
Move the jumper to pins 1-2.
Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
Hold down the F10 key during the startup process and enter BIOS setup to change or clear the password.
After changing or clearing the BIOS passwords, remember to reset the jumper to pins 2-3.
if not  f10 key will be f1 i recomend holding the key down as soon as switched on
