Audio driver not installed, Dolby advanced studio asking for PCEE to be installed, Not getting the right set of drivers for my laptop. need help

Hello balamuralee. I understand that you're having problems getting your audio driver to install.
Have you tried using HP Support Assistant to download the drivers for your notebook? This application can normally locate most drivers which your notebook needs.

Try the XP driver. You will probably have to manually install it as follows...

Download and run the above file. Close out of any error windows.
Go to the device manager and click on the Multimedia Audio Controller needing drivers.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click on Have Disk and browse to: C:\SWSetup\sp34210\SMAXWDM\W2K_XP\smwdmCH6 and select the SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio from the list and see if the driver installs.
Then reboot.

Dear community collegues,
I have installed original windows7 home premium in my lenovo N100 series 0768-54A model y'day. Though every thing went well, the AC97 audio driver could not be installed. Can any one provide me a solution to make the audio working in Windows7 Home Premium.
Similarly after new installation, I could not install rescue and recovery version 4.3 (windows7 compatible) in to the system, every attempt failed. Could any one provide a solution.

I am not sure which audio chipset your N100 has, so
Try this for sound:
Go to THIS web page.
Download Soundmax audio driver for Vista.
Extract the files by double clicking, and note where they
are being extracted to.
Uninstall any sound driver you have installed, reboot.
If windows says New Hardware Found, click cancel.
Go to folder where downloaded drivers were extracted,
and run Setup.
If Soudmax drivers do not work, uninstall and repeat
with the Realtek audio drivers.
I do not think Rescue/Recovery will work except for
the originally installed OS.

No audio driver installed

i have a pavillion dv9605ea on vista,after doing an update ive lost all sound. computer says there is no audio device installed. there is a red x on the sound icon. ive tried all the solutions i could find on the net and on the hp site and none have worked. there is no sound,game option in the device manager and when i tried downloading a new driver from the hp site it says it could not install as there is no media device found.i have tried system restore and a full recovery to no avail. what do i do now? HELLLPPP!!

hi there,the first solution didnt work and no,there is no 'other devices' option in my device manager. while in device manager,i tried to update the system speaker again and it came back that it was up to date. also,the update i performed was the system 2 update.

MSI 770 c45 mb
Athlon II 245
4 gigs ram markvision
1000 gig (storage) and 320 (os) hitachi hd
9400 gt video card
media card reader
dvd burner (liteon)
generic case and power supply
the problem I am getting is that I have installed Windows xp with sp3 slipstreamed and I am getting problems installing the audio drivers from either the cdrom that came with the mb or from msi website. Lan & system drivers are installed.
I have upgraded the bios
I have booted up with Ubuntu 9 live cd and I can get sound. which means the audio section of the mb is ok.
I have tried to install the driver in safe mode and still no luck.
Help!......... I have no idea what to try next.

i hav hp d330, X86 based PC with O.S wp pro.sp2.
i installed bios update , networkind [lan card] drivers and they worked fine.
I also download n installed Soundmax drivers one by one from

but even after installed correctly [also showing "soundMAX integrated digital audio" in device manager] no voice heard by headphones[i dont hav speakers].
head ph is correct n working fine on tv. i hav checked all basic stuff "mute " etc. but still no vice.

First right-click on sound icon in systray(lower right in area where the clock is) then open mixer and check to see that the mute all box does not have a check mark in it, If it does select it to remove the check mark and adjust the volume. Try something that produces sound.
Second(if mute was not checked) Go to Conrol Panel --> Sound --> next to the audio icon there should (in parentheses) be the name of your onboard sound chipset device. in volume, mute should not be checked. Go to Audio tab (select at top) and in standard sound device your chipset audio device should be selected as the standard output devive and not greyed out. You should see the same in recording device. In Speech tab you should also see your chipset device selected for both.
Please post what you found and your results.

Windows 8 was the worst thing that happened to Windows, but since I bought this G505s laptop with Win8 pre-installed, i had no other choice to go to. Few days after the purchase, Windows 8.1 arrived and I updated 8 to 8.1 hoping to see some improvements. But to my sadness, 8.1 has ruined my expectations, and Lenovo didn't even care to address the user issues in 8.1
Here are my Issues :
OneKey Recovery : Updated to 8.xx.xx.xxxx
The OneKey Recovery app tells that 'Current system cannot create a backup'
I can't have a secure laptop without it creating the Recovery !!
Lenovo, please address this issue and fix the OneKey Recovery Problem !!
Dolby audio app : Doesn't open, and if once it starts, cannot configure the Equalizer !

2. Open Control Panel Uninstall a program and highlight the dolby component and an Uninstall button will appear.
3. Open your C: drive and Delete any folder that says drivers if non then continue with the next step
4. Download this Driver for installation
Conexant Audio Driver
Install it and continue
5. Open Drive C: now and you should have the Drivers folder back.
Open that, Open Connexant Open Dolby Gui, then you should have Dolbyaa for Advanced audio.
Restart your PC and there you go!

G480 - Dolby Audio driver cannot start after upgrading to Windows 8.1

I upgraded today to 8.1 and now when I start my computer I get a message box telling me <re-install Dolby advanced audio driver>. I found the Dolby program in my control panel, programs and features, and there is no un-installer or, seemingly a way to re-install the driver. I want fix this problem / don't want this box popping up at every boot, what do I do? Thank You.

"No audio device installed"? Help?

I have a dv9500 that I got from a friend, I keeps telling me that there is no audio device installed and won't let me play sound. The obvious answer for me is to install and audio device...but how do I do that? I'm usually a bit computer savvy, but I'm lost on this. I would really like to be able to have audio, How do I fix this?!

If you click on the "Start" button and right click on "Computer" and select "Manage" and then after the window opens, select "Device Manager" in the list on the left... when it opens up, you will see the list of devices installed and check to see if you have a sound/audio driver installed. Let me know what you see. I'll keep trying to assis you.

Problem with audio driver - RealTek High Definition

Hi Experts,
I am using lenovo notepad G400, which has RealTek High Definition audio. It was working since 8 months. Recently I am not able to plan any sonds. When I try to reinstall from the CD which is being provided with notebook, it says Audio drive install failed!!
How to go about it? please advice

u shud reinstall kb888111 file search it over net ull find it .update dat file den install .NET framework 2.0........den first uninstall realteck completely den install again......it will b done....
n if ur using Wndows XP with SP3 den realteck will not work as sp3 does not support HD audio. Windows Xp sp2 is better install dat.
n before installing realteck install UAA driver dats available on lenovo cd (hope so).

No Audio Driver

My Notebook running Windows 7 (64 bit) had the RealTek High Definition Audio Driver when I purchased it. One day there was no sound and an X on the icon. When I tried to fix it the message said there was no audio driver installed. I have spent hours trying to fix this problem but even thoughI have found, removed and reinstalled this driver it still doesn't work. What should I do?

Did you try the latest RealTek driver directly from the RealTek website?
If not, you may want to give it a try: Accept the agreement, download and install the first one on the list.

Before Conexant Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) here
Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers here
This will create a swsetup folder in c drive ("C:\swsetup\sp34200")
Installing Audio drivers may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.
Open the Device Manager:
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.
Similarly install Modem Drivers:
