(HP Pavilion g6) Audio devices are not installed

Hello,
I cannot view my audio devices.  "No audio devices are installed" appear in my sound manager.  I have right-clicked and ensured that I can view disabled devices.  Is there a way to reinstall the sound devices for my HP notebook?  Also, is there anything to check before I look into reinstalling them?
Thanks!

Try a hard reset, works sometimes.Disconnect all external devices first.
1-remove power cord and battery
2-press power button for 30 seconds
3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.
4-power on
******Clicking the Thumbs-Up button is a way to say -Thanks!.******

  • Some devices are not installed

    Hello:
I think that I already installed all the drivers in my W520 but it still showing that some devices are not installed
In "Other devices" I have the folowing four entries:
    -  Base system device
    - Biometric Coprocessor
    - F5521gw
    - PCI Serial Port
Could someone help me to identify which drivers I still need ??
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Turco:
Download the "System Update" application from this link, install it, and run it.
This Lenovo application will then fetch the four missing items you list and install them automatically.  It will also check to make sure all the other drivers are up to date.
The 'biometric coprocessor' is probably the fingerprint reader.  The 'F5521w' is the cell phone modem.  I don't know what the other two items are.
If you need a list of all the drivers available for your machine, you can get it (and the drivers themselves) from this link, which is the Device Driver File Matrix (DDFM) for the W520.
But, honestly, it is a heck of a lot simpler, easier, and faster to just download "System Update" and let it do all the work for you.  In fact, you might even have that application on your computer already - just click on the Windows 7 orb (the coloured ball with the flag on it) and type "System Update" into the search box, if it is installed, you will see it appear in the results list.  If it appears, click on it and run it.

  • Some devices are not installed correctly on Satellite Pro A200

I have Satellite Pro A200 psae7e. and I have also a problem with PCI memory controller, Modem device on high definition audio bus, mass storage controller because they're marked yellow in device manager.
My lap works fine... sata works fine, graphic controller & etc. Everything in natural order. but I don't want yellow icons in device manager.
How to resolve this problem. I've installed all drivers, but there's still that yellow icons appearing.
And could someone tell's me what is PCI memory controller? Is that shared memory?

The PCI memory controller is Intel Turbo Memory also called Intel Flash cache logic chip
Its a new technology designed to support new Vista capabilities.
There is no driver for it for Windows XP, because XP doesnt support the cache function.
The Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller component supports the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) AC adapter device objects that the operating system uses to manage power resources.
Seems you BIOS does not support this!
Update the BIOS to the XP version!

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and my 3210xi All-in-One is working perfectly but is reporting errors in Device Manager. I've done the obvious things -- I've downloaded the latest software from hp.com (the filename is AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe) and tried to get windows to find a driver but can't seem to get rid of the message. There's also nothing useful that I found in the MS KB. Anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks!

    Hi,
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run. the Run dialog appears,

Copy the full path location by clicking CTRL + P while the path is selected.
    Enter the Device Manager.
Right click the printer name with the error mark, then click Update Driver.
Select the second option to manually locate the driver.

  • Upgrade from windows vista to windows 7. No audio devices are installed.

Monitor with built in speakers= HP w2007

Running the original disc that came with the monitor did no solve the issue. Running it in vista compatibility did not solve the issue either.
Tried to update from HP support drivers for vista and it didn't not solve the issue.
There are no driver updates fround for windows 7 in hp support.
-audio symbol in task bar shows red x
-device manager shows: other devices/multimedia audio control/the drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28)
----when i try to update the driver it says windows cannot find driver software for your device.
    Please help, this is frustrating.

after hours of dealing with microsoft suppor and HP support I got annoyed and tired. I then decided to check out the bios and figured out the solution myself!!!!
when booting computer do F10 setup. Change the audio from auto to enabled. Then the computer recognizes the audio device and installs updates. right click on the audio icon in the taskbar and select playback devices then pick your device.
What a waste of a day..... hopefully this helps out other people and HP/Microsoft needs to put this on their support site.

    Tecra A8
    Model No = PTA83L-04C02N
Can you please tell me from where I need driver so that my "Fn" key will be operation? Right now I tried to use "Fn" with F6 and F7 which suppose to change screen resolutions but nothing is happening.
Can you please tell me if I reinstall New OS (Windows XP - Sp2) then in which order which driver and Toshiba software I should install?
Hard to find XP drivers and utilities for that machine, Manoj. But you're in luck because the Asian part-number family PTA83L corresponds to the European PTA83E.
Go to the European download site and look up the Tecra A8 with Short Model No. PTA83E. You'll find 40 XP drivers, utilities, and BIOS updates.
Install the Chip Set Utility first, then the Display Driver, and then the other major drivers. Install the Common Module prior to Toshiba utilities and other programs.
    Good luck!

  • Lenovo T430 - No Audio Devices Are Installed - I am out of ideas

    Hey all,
Over the last week we have had multiple laptops lose sounds after some windows updates came through.. When clicking on the speakers on the bottom right on the screen and going to playback, recording devices, etc. all we get is a No Audio Devices Are Installed message.
I checked the device manager and there are indeed some problems with the audio drivers as they have yellow exclamation marks, but I can not get them fixed.
I have completely uninstalled the drivers in the device manager, rebooted to let windows try and find a generic driver and I got a failed message after it searched for a while.. I uninstalled again and downloaded a realtek audio HD driver and installed.. That did not fix this issue.
I uninstalled the drivers a third time and downloaded the audio drivers from the downloads section from this Lenovo T430 webpage. I installed them and they seemed to install, but it still has not fixed the issue.
Anytime I try to manually update the drivers I get a "This driver is currently up to date".
What I am seeing still under the Sounds, Video and game controllers section in the device manager is an:
    High Definition Audio Device
    and a
    Realtek High Definition Audio.
Both with yellow exclamation points. If I right click and go to properties, on the first one it shows the driver date as 11/19/10, driver version 6.1.7601.17514.
The properties on the second one are as follows - 9/13/13 version 6.0.1.7040
Any idea on what might be going on and how to fix this issue.. I am at a lose on what to try next..
    Thanks,
    Jeryn

Look for a folder named "swtools" or something like that.  It's a subfolder there.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 - No Audio Devices are installed

I have a Vm that is running windows Server 2008 R2. I says there are "No Audio Devices are installed" I have tried everything!!!
    this :
Please launch Device Manager, right click on the sound card and select “Update Driver Software” to check if it can be updated via Windows Update.
    everything!!!
    please help!!!
I am using a VM from AWS

    Quote from irfan H
The error message indicates that the Audio service is failing to start on your computer.
You can try the below methods to fix this issue:
    Method 1:
Run Audio troubleshooter that will automatically diagnose and fix any audio issues. You can refer this article to run Audio troubleshooter:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Playing-Audio-troubleshooter
    Method 2:
    Check the services manually.
I suggest that you check if the dependency services are started and check if you have the same issue.
    a.     Click Start, type Services.msc in the Start Search box.
    b.     Scroll down the list of services, right-click Windows Audio and select Start.
    c.       Select Properties for Windows Audio and set its Startup Type to Automatic.
If the Windows Audio service does not start and you get the error ‘Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start, then make sure that the following services are started and their Startup Type is set to Automatic’
    a.     Plug and Play
    b.     Multimedia Class Scheduler
    c.      Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
    Method 3:
If the dependency services are not starting, you can uninstall and reinstall the Audio drivers. This will reset all the Audio components on your computer.
To uninstall a device with Device Manager:
    a.     Click on start and type devmgmt.msc
    b.     In Device Manager's left panel, open the node that represents. You should be able to find the Audio device under the Sound, Audio and Game controller. Uninstall and then right-click the device entry.
    c.      On the shortcut menu, click Uninstall.
    d.     On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
Once you uninstall the device, install the latest drivers by downloading it from the manufacturers’ website (Realtek).
Note:Make sure that you have the source to install the Audio drivers before you install it. Also create a System restore point before uninstalling the device.

I don't know that Apple has ever officially commented on such things, one way or another. Places like ifixit will be your best sources for such information - https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/200937/How+many+water+indicators+or+sensors+ are+there+in+the+iPhone+6
certainly none of us fellow users know what Apple's official current policies in such things are.

  • The audio device is not working in my brand new hp

I bought the pavilion f4j02la and after 10 days of using it, out of the blue, the sound speaker on the desk appeared with an "x" as if I had put mute on it. It appears to be no device no more and the automatic "help" that searchs for the problem and then fixes it, says that it can't fix anything and that probably one or more  audio services are not being executed. It is still brand new.
So far i've tried downloading a bunch of new drivers, uninstalling the ones I already had, restarted the computer, erased evertything I had and try to set it back as when I just bought it... and this support hp is unreacheble.
I'm all the way to Germany where I just found out they are not in the market... so, if anyone has any idea how can I fix this I will really really appreciate it.
    Thank u

  • Apple Mobile Device Suppurt not installing with iTunes 10.6.3

Hey guys, any help with this would be much appreciated., I had an issue a couple of days ago where I couldn't reinstall the latest itunes (10.6.3) I have now managed to install this current version but with one major problem, Apple Mobile Device Support didn't install with it. I tried everything, I've tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling it again with and without the anti virus turned on, I've tried a system restore, I've tried using an old version of Apple Mobile Device Support, and still nothing.
My itunes keeps saying this whenever I plug in my iPad, "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes" I've done that, it didn't work, however, itunes has managed to install successfully on my desktop pc, which is Windows XP, with apple mobile device support, but the machine I'm having trouble installing itunes with Apple Mobile Device Support on is my Laptop which is running Windows 7. I doubt this is a problem with my laptop, the system restore I did confirmed that, and the issue only returned when I tried reinstalling the latest itunes.
Is this problem with Apple Mobile Device Support not installing with the latest itunes a bug? i hope so, because I've  read up ways to solve this problem but alot of it gets too technical and I'm not the most technical person when it comes to computers and all that.
Is anyone else having similar problems, if so, how did you solve it?
Thanks, hoping to hear back soon

I've also read somewhere about using Win Rar to extract files to do with apple mobile device support from the itunes installer file, would you recommend that to? I don't really fancy the idea of doing anything that involves my registry because knowing me I'll end up screwing my laptop up for good lol
It's a little more involved than just doing a standalone AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi install, I'm afraid. The relevant drivers in AMDS are not digitally signed for 64-bit XP, so you have to force XP to accept a driver install that it would try its damnedest to not do. There's no driver issues for other 64-bit componentry in the installer package (I think the GEAR drivers install on XP 64-bit systems), but I believe there's still a bit of fancy footwork involved in getting them installed too ... although it's been a long time since I've looked at an instruction set, and I might not be recalling those things correctly. (So if you're not comfortable with system modifications, it might be best to steer clear of the Orca-based techniques ...)
