Hp Pavilion g6 is suddenly unable to detect sound card

Error 303 means you need to replace the hdd. If you are in warranty HP will send a replacement. If you are not in warranty you can use a retail SATA laptop hdd. Install the new drive, boot with Recovery Disks to restore the laptop to factory setup.

  • Unable to Detect SDHC Card on Windows 7

Hi guys, recently I received a 4 gb sdhc card but when insert the card into the card reader & plug to the usb port, win 7 was unable to detect it. 1st thought was this sdhc card is bad but i when plug it to another win 7 pc it detects
straight away, so the card is not faulty. I tried uninstalling the usb driver & HID driver still can't detect. Notice that under the disk drives it does show 'Mass Storage Device USB Device' which means it actually did detect but won't show up
in 'My Computer' ..... Why? Hope someone can help to resolve this issue. Thanks

Here is the answer from Scandisk
STEP 1 - Backup the registry
    1. Unplug the device from the USB port.
    2. Run regedit.
Windows XP: Go to Start > Run, type in regedit and then click OK.
Windows 7, 8 and Vista: Click the Start button, type regedit in the search box, and then press Enter.
    3. From the registry menu, choose File > Export.
    4. Name the file SNDK.reg and save it to your desktop.
STEP 2 - Remove SanDisk info from the registry
WARNING: DO NOT delete any registry key other than keys that include VID_0781. Deleting registry keys other than keys that include VID_0781 MAY cause your computer to not boot properly.
    1. From the registry menu, click Edit and choose Find.
    2. Type in VID_0781 and click Find Next.
    3. Once the search finishes, right-click the highlighted registry key and select delete.
    4. Press the F3 key to find the next registry key that includes VID_0781.
    5. Right-click the highlighted registry key and select delete.
    6. Repeat this process until the search returns with No results Found.
NOTE: Under Windows 7, 8 and Vista, some registry keys may be protected and cannot be deleted. Simply skip over these keys if you receive a message that the key cannot be deleted.
    7. Once all registry keys containing VID_0781 have been deleted, reboot your computer.
    8. Plug the device into the computer after it's finished rebooting.

  • IPhoto is suddenly unable to import from card

IPhoto was giving me error messages every time it read photos from my camera’s memory card. The message was that one photo (and only one photo) had an “invalid header” or some such.
So I used my camera to do a “low-level format” of the card, which you are supposed to do periodically anyway. IPhoto didn’t seem to like this, and now when I insert the card into the reader, iPhoto launches but does not offer to import the new photos into iPhoto.
However, I can see and view the photos perfectly fine in the finder, I can copy them to a finder folder, and I can open them perfectly fine with graphicconverter, so I do not understand why iPhoto is suddenly unable to import them.

Once copied to the hard disk, can you then import them to iPhoto from there?
    Regards
    TD

  • Virtual PC suddenly unable to play sounds

    Hi everybody,
Just recently, when I try to start up virtual PC I get a message that says virtual PC was not able to start up the mac audio system, and is therefore unable to play sounds. Up until then, sounds had always played just fine in virtual PC, and I have no idea what could have caused the change, as I don't remember screwing with any sound/virtual pc settings, or installing any updates or anything right before this happened.
Does anybody have any ideas about how I might troubleshoot and/or fix this issue?
I'm running the most recent version of both OS X (10.4.8) and virtual PC (7.0.2).

Since VPC is not an Apple product, you'll get better response if you use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://groups.google.com/groups/dir?sel=33607053> rather than an Apple forum that focuses on using Mac OS X.
Be sure to search the forum first in case someone has already had a similar question answered. You'll get your answer faster this way. Post your question in the forum if you don't find anything that helps you.

  • P4N Diamond unable to detect PCI card(s) ??

    Hello all P4N Diamond owners,
I just have one P4N Diamond board with me, was trying to play around, everything worked by "default". However, when I added PCI cards to the PCI-1 and PCI-2 slots, none of them able to detect my cards. These are the cards I have tried and proven working on other boards.
    FlyVideo 2000 TV Card
    SoundBlaster Audigy
    el-cheapo 10Mbps LAN card
I don't have other PCI cards with me at the moment, but I doubt any of them will work.
Worse is on the FlyVideo 2000 TV card, it also "disable" 1394 and onboard Audio magically whenever I plug the card in.
    BIOS I've tried : 1.4, 1.5. Same behavior.
So, I swapped with 945G Platinum, 955X Platinum, exact same config, those cards can be detected and working fine...
Do you guys have the same issue or it's just me?

Quote from: Maesus on 23-June-06, 15:40:01
ahh.... that is something I haven't tried yet. Good tips thanks!
hmm.... why did you say "force voltage into PCI slots" ? You suspect it "dropped" voltage to PCI slots?
nope not dropped in voltage.  by default this option is enabled. and mobo is sending pulses to each one PCI slot to detect is there any device or not and if no device detected mobo is stop powerup the PCI slot which was no detected any device. by disabling this feature, mobo will forced to push PCI slots poweredup at all time doesnt matter is it used by any PCI device or not. so if that "autodetect" function of mobo report no device there PCI slot will remain unpowered. and that may a reason for not working.

  • Doesn't detect sound card

"Setup is unable to detect supported product on your system. Please make sure product is properly installed before running setup.
    Setup Will exit"
Basically I bought an Xtreme gamer and I fitted it into the PCI slot nicely. Then I disabled onboard sound in the BIOS. When the PC loaded up, it didnt detect the new software. So I put the CD in anyway, and it let it load up. When the software installation loaded, it had the option of installing "Sound Blaster X-Fi" and "Creative Media Source". I tried to install them both, it tired to install the "sound blaster x-fi" first, but then as it reached the end, it had the Error message first quoted in the post. Then it installed the media source no problems.
Anyone know why it wont show up? PLEASE HELP ME!

I'm not at all familiar with pulseaudio configuration. Does anyone know of a good way for me to resolve this issue? Have I even identified the correct issue?
    UPDATE:
I was able to work around my problem for the moment by symlinking the configuration file to the location that pulseaudio was actually looking for it
    # mkdir -p /usr/share/alsa/ucm/HDA\ Intel
    # ln -s /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf /usr/share/alsa/ucm/HDA\ Intel/HDA\ Intel.conf
Although this does get my sound back, it is a hacky work-around and obviously not ideal. Anyone who knows a bit about pulse configuration, I welcome your input here

Thank you so much for posting your solution!
I was having the same problem. The funny part was it started happening (and not always) after KDE says that the Intel HDA device is "gone" and asking me to remove it from my configuration. Even by saying no it wouldn't work. Killing pulseaudio with
    pulseaudio -k
would have everything fallback to Alsa but starting pulseaudio again wouldn't work.
Rebooting right away doesn't take care of the issue either but after a while the problem would go away...
    Any inputs would be appreaciated!

  • Skype can't detect sound card

Skype was working just fine previously when making a video call (could hear the other person well - no problems.) Then I stopped using the monitor stereo speakers and installed desktop speakers.
Wasn't happy with them and uninstalled them about a day or two later. When I tried to make a video call again (after choosing monitor speakers again under the pc control panel - sounds and audio devices, also tried to choose monitor stereo speakers in Skype but didn't see this option) - there was no sound - even on the Skype test.
So I tried "check settings" and saw under speaker - "can't detect your sound card". Under adjust speaker settings there's no speaker suggestions at all - it just says none.
I also cancelled the speaker setting on SoundMAX digital integrated audio under the control panel.
I have rebooted the system but still the same problem!

I'v sorted out the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  • [solved] Pulseaudio doesn't detect sound card after system update

Before a recent system update I had pulseaudio working flawlessly, but after doing a recent system update with pacman -Syu,
pulseaudio no longer sees my sound card and only displays the Dummy audio device.  Among the packages updated that I can
remember off the top of my head are the Linux keneral, udev, kmod, instead of trying to roll back my system I figured I would try
to fix the issue.  The only thing suggested in the Pulseaudio wiki is that a asound.conf directory is overriding the /etc/asound.conf
file which is not the case on my system.
Looking at the output from lsmod I can see where the kernel modules for the sound card is getting loaded
    snd_hda_intel 23375 0
    snd_hda_codec 89160 3 snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_codec_hdmi

    snd_page_alloc 7153 2 snd_pcm,snd_hda_intel
    snd_timer 19544 1 snd_pcm
and looking at the output from the ps command I can see that pulseaudio is getting started
    1190 ? S<l 0:00 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --start
    1195 ? S 0:00 \_ /usr/lib/pulse/gconf-helper

  • New install not detecting sound card

My system is not detecting my sound card after a fresh install although alsa was working OK during installation.
I had the same happen with a Sidux install and this was fixed by a download and re-install of phonon but something else is wrong here.

Would you like to probe legacy ISA sound cards/chips?
I have also re-installed alsa-lib, alsa-utils, phonon and everything connected with xine that I could find.
Should I be getting into the kernel? If so I'll need a little help.

  • DROID DNA unable to detect SIM card

So, apparently this is a known issue at this point.  My phone didn't start doing this until about 2 months ago.  It started off just doing it every couple days, but it has increased to being 5+ times per day now.  Has anyone had success in getting this resolved through Verizon?  I've lost all confidence in the phone.

Call HTC and request a new SIM card tray.

  • Skype can't detect sound card, issue with playback...

    Hello
I have just received my Razer kraken 7.1 headset and have installed razer synapse 2.0. I have set up my mic and speakers of the headset through the control panel, my playback is set as the razer kraken 7.1 earphone and the mic is set as the headset microphone through the recording tab. When I launch skype there is no sound produce through the application, however with previous headsets there has been, I have tried going on youtube to see if sound comes through the headset and it does. Previously I have been using a turtle beach z11 which used 3.5mm jacks in to the computer however this new headset is usb operated. When skype opens and I try to call someone it says problem with playback device meaning I can't call anyone at all. However when checking call quality it says everything is working fine even though it isn't.
So far I have tried re-installing skype and restarting my pc none of this has worked so far, I know this isn't likely a fault with the headset as it works with all other programmes I have tried.
I am using a custom built pc with
OS: WIN7 64 BIT Home Premium
    GPU: AMD HD7950
    CPU: i5-3550
    RAM: 8gb 1333mhz
    Motherboard: Asus p67 series
    Sound card: Onboard 7.1 audio
Any help with my problems would be much appreciated.
    -Thanks
    George Snell

@gsnell, Please setup your audio device directly in Skype and not only in the windows playback/record interface.
Also, please try to quit synapse 2.0 since it may interfere with Skype.
Also please try with the latest 6.13 version

if nothing helps, Can you please provide logs as described in this link https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12321/how-do-i-create-log-files under Skype for Windows Desktop and attach it to your post?
    Thank you
