HP Pavilion g6 Notebook unable to disable Touchpad or access Synaptic to configure it

Recently, I have been unable to disable my Synaptic Touchpad on my HP Pavilion g6 Notebook and, me being a gamer, it is quite annoying fore I always end up moving the Touchpad with my wrist which will, in turn, move my Cursor.
I have done research on this problem and all the answers I have found, I tried and they proceeded to fail. I am quite infuriated and do wish someone knew what was going on and will help me.

But every time I am working on my laptop I seem to touch my touchpad by accident or make to much pressure on the keyboard and then my cursor is going suddenly to another place in the senctence en am I typing complete garbage. This is something that I had resolved under XP by disabling the touchpad. But now, under windows 7 there's no possebillity tot do so.

Typing this little piece of text takes me so much longer while my cursor goes everytime while I am typing to another location in the words.

    > I have an problem with my built in cam, it wont work because the cable may be defect. Is it possible that this could be the problem?
Dont think that this would affect the Flash Card installation
I read in some forums that the cable may be lose since its connect the internal webcam with an USB controller on the motherboard.
    > the problem is that the Flash Card Utilities wont install. (see picture through link)
In your case it looks like Flash Cards are part of the VAP.
Dont change anything while VAP installation.
There is an additional Flash Card utility:
    [Flash Cards Support Utility 1.58.0.2C for Vista 64bit|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory =2&selFamily=2&selSeries=153&selProduct=819&selSho rtMod=null&language=13&selOS=27&selType=all&yearup load=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=al lMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=all &selectedLanguage=13&type=all&page=2&ID=66865&OSID =27&driverLanguage=13]
Try to install the Flash Card utility released for Vista should work too.
In such case you should also choose the VAP for Vista too.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk.  First when I power on my notebook it goes straight to the launch recovery or launch Windows normally screen.  When I choose start windows normally, it goes to the window screen and freeze.  When I try to launch the start-up with windows 7 start-up disk, the computer will not load the files.  When I tried to complete a hard drive test, it failed with a failure ID 9UXNXA-55E65V-XD003G-60XR03.
I'm looking for a solution, can someone help?

    Hi:
It sounds like you need to purchase a new hard drive for your notebook, and reinstall the operating system with your recovery disks.
When a HDD fails a diagnostic test, it normally means it is done for.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 notebook, Windows 7: How do I disable an audio jack?

My Pavilion dv7 notebook includes two audio jacks for headphones on its right side (my left when facing it.) Long story short, a hefty piece of an iPod headphone has dislodged and been stuck inside one of these two jacks; there's no way I'd be able to remove it without taking apart the notebook. I can still receive audio via headphones when I plug headphones into the other jack, but I can no longer receive audio from the internal speakers.
I'd like to diasble both headphone jacks manually when I'd like to hear the speakers --  but I can't figure out how. When I access my 'Speakers and Headphones Properties' (IDT High Definition Audio Codec, through Sounds --> Playback Devices) and attempt to disable the device, all sound is disabled. There appears to be no way to selectively disable either just the speakers or just the headphones.
    Any ideas?

...I'm still curious as to whether I can receive any assistance regarding this issue.

  • HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC 17-f253nc Windows 7 - unable to find drivers

Hello everyone,I have bought notebook "HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC 17-f253nc". When I installed Windows 7 and turned on the notebook, I found out there are no drivers here, so I decided to look them up on HP webpage. But there are drivers for Windows 8.1 only. Would you be so kind and advise me where can I find them? (if they exist). Thank you, plejda

You're very welcome. Please do the following steps so I can confirm what model wireless card your notebook has... Go to the device manager, Other Devices category, and click on the device labeled Network Controller that needs the drivers. Then click on the Details tab at the top of the network controller window. Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description. Drop down on that and select the second item on the list (Hardware ID's). Post the top string of characters that begin with PCI\VEN. Then I will post the link to the driver you need.

  • HP Pavilion dv9825nr Notebook PC not working

    Hi..Please help!!!!!!!!!
I have an HP Pavilion dv9825nr Notebook PC, with Windows Vista,  in dire need of help.  My computer stopped working a couple of days ago.  I keep getting an error message on blue screen that says a problem has been detected and Windows have been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the 1st time that you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.  If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.  If this is a new installation ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Start Up options, and then select safe mode.
Btw, my battery went dead so I replaced it an new one by a company named Anker.  It's a 14.4V. It's identical to the one that HP provided so I thought.  At any rate, I just inserted the new battery after one day in my computer and the next day I received the message above.
Can someone please help me fix my computer.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Karen

Try to disconnect the battery and plug unit up to AC power and see if you still get the blue screen

  • How do I disable touchpad swipe or edge gestures on Envy x2 13-j002dx ?

I find that the edge gestures on the touchpad get in the way of my productivity, so I would like to disable them.  I've been able to disable these on other laptops, using an icon in the tray area.  I see no such icon with this device ( Envy x2 13-j002dx )
The closest I've come is I did edit this registry setting, based on instructions I found for touchpads which use the PrecisionTouchPad (including the Surface 3), but it didn't help, even though those registry settings were present:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PrecisionTouchPad]
    "ScrollDirection"=dword:00000000
    "EnableEdgy"=dword:00000000
    "AAPThreshold"=dword:00000002
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PrecisionTouchPad\Status]
    "Enabled"=dword:00000001

So I did some looking around and it looks like there may not be independent software for the touchpad on this model. First time I've actually come across this. (Regarding disabling touchpad gestures on a Split series notebook.)
I looked in the user guide and it talks about using gestures but no way to disable or enable them. It looks like they may not be able to be disabled on this model.

    Hi,
Haswell mobile architecture uses a completely different socket than previous generations. You may use a Sandy Bridge like Core i5-2450M on an Ivy Bridge laptop but you can't use Haswell in any of the previous generations:
    http://ark.intel.com/products/75128/Intel-Core-i7-4800MQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz
    Socket: FCPGA946
So far I have heard there is no reason for an upgrade to Haswell from Sandy or Ivy Bridge computers.

    Hi Sy,
First, download the latest Synaptics driver installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53851.exe
Next, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry 'Synaptics Pointing Device Driver' and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has fully reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click the Synaptics installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again.
Now follow the directions under the sub-heading 'Adjust horizontal and vertical scrolling' in the document on the link below to configure the scroll options as you require.

  • HP Pavilion 15 notebook : keyboard problem

    hi,
    Product Name:HP Pavilion 15 notebook
    Operating  system: windows 8
I am having trouble with my laptop's keyboard. It started as a problem with both the Shift keys i.e. whenever I clicked on it , the keyboard typed either 'z' or 'q'  or 'zx' or 'qw'. Then after doing some surfing on the net , I tried some solutions but it resulted in the disabling of keys '1', 'w', 's' and 'x' instead of Shift keys. Shift keys are working perfectly now.I also tried uninstalling the drive but when I restart, the drive automatically comes back along with the problem. Its just been seven months since i bought the laptop, its still under Warranty but it would be helpful if an easier solution came along the way.

    Hi,
First do a Hard Reset and check..it has fixed similar issue many times..

    Hi:
HP is aware of the drivers missing from the support pages issue and is working on resolving it.
It is affecting hundreds of notebook models.
Since I don't work for HP, I do not know when the sites will be operational again.
This has happened once before, so hopefully they learned from past experience how to troubleshoot the problem.
With the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, that has delayed things, I'm sure.
We are on the fourth day of this problem.
Please take the following steps so I can figure out what model wireless card your notebook uses...
Go to the device manager and click on the Network Controller needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the network controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (Hardware ID's).

Thank you for your query, I will do my best to help!
I understand that you are able to connect to your wireless if you are close but if you move to the next room you are not.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Here is a link to Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8) that should guide through some steps.
If the issue should remain, as it is only a couple of weeks old I suggest contacting HP support for assistance. You want to know that your new notebook is working as intended.
