laptop no sound HP Pavilion g6t-1d00 CTO Notebook PC Windows 7 64bit everything enabled. I don't want to try to install wrong code from forum searches.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55036.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • HP Pavilion g6t-2000 recall

Is there any HP Pavilion g6t-2000 recall. I bought new laptop from HP online store last year, but the product quality was not good. From day one it has the issue with it's hings( very loss and kind of broken on left end).  Within few months it started issues with  battery, Fan heat .  Now the laptop got dead within 14 month. It's mother board got broke. I only used this for my home purpose to check my emails . I want to know if there is any recall for this low quality product. It's very diappointing that the HP products made products with such a low quality material. I don't have extended warranty on it, It's warranty got expire in August,2014.

  • G6t-2000 CTO 802.11ac compatible?

    Hello!
posted this in the wrong forum before. figured id give here a try.
i was just wonder if theres a mini PCI card for my G6T-2000 CTO that supports 802.11ac. all i could find was an intel one but i wasnt sure if it'll work. the model numbers Intel 7260HMW IEEE 802.11AC. link below.
    Intel 7260HMW IEEE 802.11AC
    Thank you!
    -Victor

Nope. If you put that in your computer it will refuse to boot up. TMK, there is not an 802.11ac wireless card offered by HP at this point, and they will not issue BIOS for older machines allowing use of 802.11ac adapters once they do start offering them on newer machines.

  • 2nd hard drive for HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Notebook - What do I need?

Hi, I have the HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook (Product # WV703AV). It has room for two harddrives but only came with one. What would I need in order to install the second hard drive? Would I need just a connecting cable or do I also need caddy or kit?
Also, could I get a solid state? Would my notebook support that or does it only use regular ones?
    Currently, I'm running Windows 7 64bit. I've got a 500GB hd (which came partitioned with hp tools/recovery).
Any help with what I would need for a traditional hdd or ssd would be greatly appreciated. I tried to look through other people's posts first,  but couldn't find anything specific to my model. Thanks for your time!

    Hi:
The only place I know of where you can get a 2nd hard drive kit is from this vendor.
    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=345
Your notebook should be able to work with a SSD but I cannot guarantee it.
I really don't see any point in adding a SSD unless you make it the primary hard drive, and in order to do that, you would need to get a SSD the same size as the original 500 GB hard drive to use the recovery disks to reinstall the operating system.
Most folks get smaller SSD's and they use the W7 product key to activate a plain installation of W7.
If you can read all 25 characters of your windows 7 product key you can make your own installation media and use that to install Windows on a smaller than 500 GB SSD.
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link  below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
    http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6b00ax Entertainment Notebook PC upgrades....

Hello experts, HP workers or anyone who's willing to help me.
I have a couple of questions, maybe more later, but for now these are it:
    - On the manual, found on this page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=au&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&product=5178920&softwar... which will lead you to here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03015537.pdf ...it is correct to assume this manual's for dv6 in general and therefore all dv6 models can support a maximum of 8GB of DDR3 PC3-10600? ....or is there a more *specific* manual for this "particular" model....? *Apparently* by Crucial from here: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=DEE286FEA5CA7304 after using their *System* scanner, it reported it supported up to 16GB of DDR3 PC3-12800....I want clarification on this....And this is the only model that's close to the one I have right now: http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion%20dv6-6b06sa but not quite exactly my model so I don't know which to *believe*.....Crucial's "Guaranteed-compatible with the Crucial Scanner Results HP Pavilion dv6-6b/c (AMD DDR3)" or HP's manual even though it;s not so...in-depth or specific as I thought it would be.....
    - And the other question was regarding SSDs; it says in the manual that only if you have an *intel* CPU that you able to use an SSD with this laptop(As you probably already know, this is using an AMD A6-3140MX CPU so I am not able to make use of an SSD for this laptop?), is this correct? Because I would have presume that you can use SSDs on any computers using *any* CPUs....
    Cheers,

  • I have the error code 90b in my hp envy 14 beats edition (HP ENVY 14t-2000 CTO Notebook PC)

The problem has been happening for about a week and a half. Every time i open the computer from either sleep or hibernate it will turns on like it is working but then the  screen will imediatly go black and shortly after shut off then i have to turn it on . When i turn it on it gives me the error message 90b. Is there any solutions and or reason why this is happeneing, ive been trying to find a solution or reason  but ive yet to find one.

It is a problem with the cooling fan. Try blowing it out with compressed air while holding the fan blades with a bent-out paperclip. If dust flies that is good. Now remove battery and AC and hold down the power button 30 seconds. Now insert AC and start, but go into BIOS (F10). Then leave BIOS and reset to defaults as you go. With luck that will clear the message. If not, the fan needs to be replaced. Post back if you need help with that.

  • Upgrade for HP Pavilion HDX9300 CTO Notebook PC

    Good morning people!
I have one HP Pavilion HDX9300 CTO Notebook PC and have some questions:
I am wanting to upgrade my HD drive for a SSD model and increase my DDR memory.
I know my memory operates at a frequency of 667 MHz but need to know if my notebook includes an upgrade to 8GB and what would be the ideal brand of memory card to do this.
I also need models of HD 480GB SSD compatible with my notebook.
Thank you all and sorry for english, I'm brazilian.

I checked out you service manual and it says the maximum amount of memory it can take is 4 GB or two 2 GB sticks.
I also went to Crucial and there memory advisor does confirm this.
     http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01279508.pdf
     http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion%20HDX9300%20CTO&Cat=RAM
Crucial also gives you a bunch of different options for an SSD as well. It says that the 512 GB SSD will work, but it is expensive. Stick with a quality brand name like Crucial or Kingston. Avoid buying from e-bay.
When it comes to memory though just because the manual says the max is 4 GB does not mean that it can take more.
You can try installing two 4 GB sticks and it may work, it won't hurt the laptop to try, but there is no guarantee that it will work.
Keep in mind too that if you're running a 32 bit operating system it won't recognise a little more then 3 GB of memory anyway.

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC - Upgrade Processor

    Hello,
    Any help would be appreciated.
I have an HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC.  Because of a new job I need to update my processor from the current 2.30 GHz (see exact specs below, please) to at least 3.0 GHz.
Is there a 3.0GHz processor out there that is compatible with this particular computer? I've called technical support and was told they don't know. I really don't know who else to ask.
This computer was just purchased a few months ago (before I got the new job). I would really like to avoid purchasing a new computer, if at all possible, if I can upgrade the processor in this one.
Here are the specs of the current processor:
    Intel Core i7 3610QM
    Code Name    Ivy Bridge
    Package    Socket 988B rPGA
    Technology    22nm
    Specification    Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
    Thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Well, there appears to be just one (that I've found) 3.0 GHz processor that Intel makes for my chipset  (HM77 Express Chipset) and it's the i7-3940XM Extreme edition (http://ark.intel.com/products/71096/)
At a retail price of $1,000+ it looks like I'm going shopping for a new computer.
Not sure if anyone from HP read the peer forums, however, I will not be purchasing another HP product.
This machine has had issues outside of me needing to upgrade the processor for my own personal reasons. Your support is grossly lacking in all areas Your techscannot even pull up the model number with the serial number.
Customers should not have to go out on the Internet to research questions like this.

  • HP Pavilion dv4t-5100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC Graphic Card Replacement

    Hello all,
I have, as listed in the subject, an HP Pavilion dv4t-5100 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC, and I had a few questions about it. First off, I bought it 2-3 years ago and the NVIDIA graphics card it came with has broken, and by broken I mean it doesn't function the way a working card would. To get into detail, it is a NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 630M 1GB, and there are updates for it, however, when I try to update, I experience the following, I can download the update just fine but when I go to restart to install the update is when I have problems. As my laptop starts up again, it crashes and I have to do a System Restore. Thus, I consider it to be broken.
So, I wish for help from the HP Community.
I wish to know if I can purchase a replacement to me installed on my laptop to get another 630M put in or if better yet, I can instead upgrade to a newer NVIDIA graphics card without having to buy a whole new laptop.
    Please help,

For your case of a dead GPU your only choice is to replace the board with same matching board with the GPU fixed. Otherwise if there is a eBay seller that does GPU repair is the only other way to fix the dead GPU problem. I doubt being 2-3 yrs old HP would repair or fix your dead GPU and if they do they would mostly likely swap the board with another board hopefully with the GPU fixed.
