HP Pavilion g7-2221ez - replacing current 320 GB HDD with a 2TB HDD - POSSIBLE OR NOT?

Hello folks. Many questions on this topic but none that apply exactly to my situation: HARDWAREHP Pavilion g7-2221ez17.3" LED Sandyridge B9504GB, 320GB, DVD +-, CAM, WLAN, HDMIIntel HD Graphics 4000, Win8(in meantime upgraded to Win8.1) According to diagnostic done with free Internet tool the HDD is:Type: ATAModel: Toshiba MQOZABDO32Firmware: AX001CSerial No: XXXXXXXXXXXXCapactiy: 320GBLBA48: SupportedSMART: EnabledSection Type: 4K/512e I did purchase a Toshiba 2.5" SATA Hard Drive but found that has a height of 15mm whereas I only have space for a 9.5mm HDD. However, in the meantime I have found what seems to be a newer and perfect drive: TOSHIBA MQ-SERIES2TB SATA II 2.5" HDDRetail: PX3006E-1HLORTHeight: 9.5mmCache: 8MBRevolutions: 5400/minute I read the Toshiba warning that in addition to phsical dimensions and connectors there are parameters like power consumption, temperature distribution etc. that could differ. Also an older BIOS version many not recognise a more modern, and larger HDD which exceeds a certain storage capacity. So my 2 questions are: (1) Will the Toshiba MQ-Series PX3006E-1HLORT HDD work in my existing HP Pavilion g7-2221ex laptop?(2) Will I need to change any other bits of hardware e.g. connector or install a new BIOS? Thanks and a final quickie. Trying to install the 15mm drive in the 9.5mm space i damaged slightly the two rubber end protectors that you slip off each end of the old HDD and onto each end of the new HDD. Hello Huffer Many thanks for your prompt reply. I have been doing a bit more research and came across an old spec for a "lenovo" hard-disk (HDD) with 320GB capacity used in numerous ThinkPads. Unfortunately it does not include the X300 model that i have. The full details can be found HERE. The height of the HDD is 7 (SEVEN) mm. I may be paranoid but can you please just confirm that the lenovo X300 ThinkPads (see full details above) with the 320GB HDD really have a height of 9.5mm and so will be able to take the HDD 2.5" with 2TB that I plan to buy. If the height really is only 7m then I have a problem. Then I think that i will have to go up my idea of increasing the storage space. If you cannot answer the question with 100% certitude then I will have to reopen the laptop and measure the space available but that is a pain since I am new to all this and afraid of damaging the HDD. If you took the picture on your iPhone, they are still there on your iPhone, unless you specifically deleted a particular picture from your iPhone. And likewise, if the picture was taken on your iPad, it is still there on your iPad, unless you specifically deleted that picture from the iPad.
Now ... if you're counting on pictures still "being there" from being on the Photostream ... don't count on that, because that's only a temporary place and it has a time limit and a count limit for how many picture it will have. While the pictures you took on your iPhone and iPad will remain on each one respectively (so you won't lose those), it won't necessarily remain on the Photostream part ... which is only for sharing anyway ... and not meant for storage.
Whatever pictures you had on your Camera Roll and thus is in the backup in iCloud, will still be there.

To the second, no, it's not possible to replace USB 2 with 3 without replacing the system.

It's also possible you may have to reinstall photoshop cs5 even after installing the above java, because sometimes the upgrade to mac os x 10.10 messes up the photoshop cs5 installation.

HP G6 series laptops are budget laptops. There are only couple of boards compatible with the chassis and those do not have very poweful graphics chips for gaming. I suggest to buy a better laptop.

Pavilion g6-1096sa - Replacement Hard Drive - Windows 7 Fresh Install - Sata Issue

A friend dropped her HP Pavilion g6-1096sa Notebook PC and the hard drive has failed (or at least I think it has).
Of course, this was before burning the restore CD's.
Before I get her to purchase a new hard drive, I wanted to install a vanilla copy of Windows 7 on a spare drive that I have (to prove 100% that the drive is faulty) but it's failing with :-
" This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in computer's bios menu ". The installer sees the drive, but won't install onto it.
It's an old 80 GB SATA II drive that I had lying around at work, which should work fine.
I've checked the bios and I can't see any options for the hard disk. I'm guessing that the bios is pretty basic, and you can't just boot into the sata controller to enable AHCI support or similar. I would have thought that AHCI support is already enabled or the original drive wouldn't have booted.
Does this model need a specific sata driver. I've checked through the driver downloads, and cannot find one for Windows 7 (found the XP version though).
Do I need a driver, or do I need to do something in the BIOS?
PS: If I put the original disk back in, I can start to load Windows 7 on it from a bootable download from Microsoft's website, but crashes at random intervals. (I think the clicking noise is giving it away though).

No one have any information on the BIOS or SATA for this model :-(

For example, In REPORT, For the item 10 of the order 4700035361 our FIRST RECEIPT DATE is in march (14/03/2011) and FORECAST DELIVERY DATE is in december (30/12/2011). This purchase order item was completely received.
Requirement is like---
Associated cube is ZCUIMP01.
(1) The evolution will consist of replace the FORECAST DELIVERY DATE with FIRST RECEIPT DATE of the item.
(2) The period (Fiscper and Fiscyear) will also be modified.
(3) Hence the calculation of the YTD will take into account the order and its receipt date.
(4) The adjustment of the history will be necessary for the year 2011.
Can anyone suggest, from where i should start my analysis (Should it be Infocube level??).
What will be the approach to fulfill all the above mentioned requirement (Should we think about Remodeling concept for creating new data model, if yes then how to do?).
Please reply asap, it will be great help for me.

Hi Rupali,
As I understand there is a business change that you need to justify in our report. Unfortunately your explanation of the design has a considerable gap to visualize. In any case, if you need help on to how to approach such a change -
1. Understand the business change, its purpose and its imapct on your current design and the report.
2. Understanding the purpose is very important since you will then be able to find workarounds, redesign as per the change required.
3. Start from the query and check if your replacement of characterisitics with new characteristics can be obtained using functions like Replacement path, attributes, customer exits, etc. Changing a query/creating a new report on the existing model is the most feasible option.
4. If not, try exploring option to keep the design untouched, and creating a new InfoObject/DSO like structure to capture the date modifications, etc which then can be used on a MultiProvider.

Need guidance - replace entire iTunes Match library with new library

Been using iTunes as my music manager/player since 2003. Currently have about 5,000 songs which are a mix of selective CD song rips, iTunes purchases and Amazon Mp3 downloads. Lots of missing artwork, incomplete albums, wrong genres, etc. I use iTunes Match to sync across multiple Macs and iOS devices, including 3 Apple TVs. It all works OK, but I recently undertook a major project to re-rip all of my CDs/Box Sets in their entirety – about 20,000 tracks. I performed the new rips on a Mac Mini running Windows 7 in BootCamp using Roxio Creator to get a 'universal' Mp3 (256kbs) format and keep everything separate and apart from my current iTunes/Match libraries. Total library size came out around 80-85GB, saved on an external USB HDD.
Recently had my iMac 1TB HDD replaced under Apple’s recall program and looked at it as an opportunity to totally rebuild my iTunes library from scratch using the new, complete album rips. I’ve loaded the new 80GB library onto the iMac and am currently using TuneUp Media to ‘clean up’ metadata and album artwork on the new library. I've turned off iTunes Match to isolate the iMac during this stage of the process.
When cleanup is complete, I would like to totally replace my current iTunes Match library with the new larger library. I think the songs will sync OK, but I’ve put a lot if effort into cleaning up the album artwork and am afraid that, if I don't take some precautions, iTunes Match will overrule and mess up my new artwork when I activate it.
My plan is to
From the iMac, first copy (or should I export) the entire rebuilt library to an external drive as a backup, hopefully preserving all of the artwork and metadata corrections in the process (true?).
On my MacBook Pro, copy my current Match library to a different external drive to ensure preservation of any unique tracks I may have missed in building the new library. Then delete the entire library – both local and Cloud. I should then have an empty iTunes Match library, correct?
Then, on my iMac, activate iTunes Match and let it upload/match all the new songs/data to create a new Cloud library with all the new albums, descriptors and artwork.
Do I need to individually deactivate Match and delete local libraries on all my other devices also, or does the total Cloud library delete I perform on my MacBook Pro then transfer to all my other registered iOS and OSX devices that have Match activated?

Thanks bmw249. I have good news and bad news. Good news: Apple very quickly deauthorized my computers so I was able to drop the lost computer that was taking up a slot and (I suspected) confusing iTunes Match.
The bad news is that this didn't make any difference. Nearly all the songs in my iTunes library have an iCloud status of "error" and when I turn on iTunes Match, it churns for a while before telling me that I already have 25,000 songs in the cloud and can't add any more. What I expected is for it to recognize that most of the 25K songs are the very same ones sitting in this local iTunes library. It should be substantially fewer than 25K because I also deleted 1000+ classical music pieces that I have sitting in Amazon Cloud, in hopes of freeing up space for my recently purchased and created music to be uploaded to iCloud. But no dice.
I am now downloading ~800 songs that iTunes thinks I have only on iCloud. I then plan to figure out how to deactivate iCloud and iTunes Match on this PC so that nothing will be deleted locally when I cancel my iCloud account (it runs out in March 2013 but I assume I can cancel and deactivate the account sooner). The "convenience" of this service isn't worth the many dozens of hours of hours I have spent trying to get it to work the way Apple says it works. Amazon Cloud (also costing ~$25 a year) has a limit of something like 20 GB and no specific limit on number of songs. I buy most music there anyway and have already uploaded most of the rest, so this makes the most sense. I really like the way iTunes Match can (in theory) keep all my music sync'd and smoothly stream to my iPhone even over 3G. Amazon Cloud takes a bit more effort but does much the same thing.

Follow these instructions. When you restore the iPod as the articles say the iPod will also be updated.

Replace pages in a PDF with acrobat

Please help me find a solution for my problem, i believe there are many good Applescript gurus here, i´m not one of them!:)
Basic needs:
i have a pdf coming from a text and picture system and i want it to merge to a templet with buttons and functionality.
same amount of pages to replace every time.
If i do this in Acrobat 8 i just open my template, i go to Document->Replace Pages, selected replace from 1-24 and execute.
Is this possible in applescript? i can se the argument in the Acrobat Library, but i don´t know how!
Please post a solution if you can.

If I'm not much mistaken about your intention, the following script may help.
A few things.
• I'm not sure but you seem to be deleting the template 'ipdfmal.pdf' every time the folder action is triggered and I presume that it's probably not your intention, so I modified the code a bit. (It would now delete the finished source files, that are dropped files in the folder where the folder action is attached, when you enable the corresponding lines which I currently commented out)
• The tempalte file is to be found at templateFdPath and the finished files are to be saved in finishedFdPath.
• The script is NOT tested, for I don't have Acrobat Professional v8.
• You can find some essential documents at Adobe's site:

I am trying to watch videos online, but a message saying "You are currently browsing the web with Google Chrome..."

I have a MacBook Pro, which I just bought in August.
When I try to watch videos on my computer, a message pops up saying, "You are currently browsing the web with Google Chrome and your Video Player might be outdated." I know it's a pop up, but I don't know how to get rid of it and watch videos on my computer. I did look it up online and I downloaded the TSM Adware Removal Tool, which removed some adware files. Then I also downloaded Bitdefender Virus Scanner from the app store to scan my entire computer - nothing came up.

The update alerts are fake, and are intended to dupe you into installing malware or disclosing private information so that your identity can be stolen.
You might get the alerts when visiting a website that has been hacked. Don't visit the site again. If applicable, notify the site administrator of the problem, but don't send email to an unknown party.
If you get the alerts when visiting more than one well-known website, such as Google, YouTube, or Facebook, then they're almost certainly the result of an attack on your router that has caused you to get false results from looking up the addresses of Internet servers. Requests sent to those sites are redirected to a server controlled by the attacker. It's possible, but less likely, that the DNS server used by your ISP has been attacked, but you should assume that the router is at fault until proven otherwise.
The router's documentation should tell you how to reset it to the factory default state. Usually there's a pinhole switch somewhere in the back. It may be labeled "RESET." Insert the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool and press the button inside for perhaps 15 seconds, or as long as the instructions specify.
After resetting the router, quit the web browser and relaunch it while holding down the shift key. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Do the equivalent if you use another browser. Open the Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.
Then go through the router's initial setup procedure. I can't be specific, because it's different for every model. The key points are these:
1. Don't allow the router to be administered from the WAN (Internet) port, if it has that option. Most do.
2. Set a strong password to protect the router's settings: at least ten random upper- and lower-case letters and digits. Don't use the default password or any other that could be guessed. Save the password in your keychain. Any password that you can remember is weak.
3. If the router is wireless, or if you have a wireless access point on the network, use "WPA 2 Personal" security and set a different strong password to protect the network. If the router or access point doesn't support WPA 2, it's obsolete and must be replaced.
During the time the router was compromised, you were redirected to bogus websites. If you ever connected to a secure site and got a warning from your browser that the identity of the server could not be verified, and you dismissed that warning in order to log in, assume that your credentials for the site have been stolen and that the attacker has control of the account. This warning also applies to all websites on which you saw the fake update alerts.
Check the router manufacturer's website for a firmware update.
If you downloaded and installed what you thought was a software update, ask for instructions.

you can purchase a replacement pair of grey installation DVDs for your MacBook Pro from either Apple or iFixit. If Startup Manager is only showing an OS X Installer volume, then it sounds like the Mavericks installer had a problem midway through its installation process. To fix this, you’re going to need to erase your internal disk and reïnstall your original version of OS X from the grey Mac OS X Install DVD, use Software Update to get it back to 10.6.8 (presuming that your MacBook Pro originally came with Snow Leopard), and then restore from Time Machine.

Replacing the Rich Text Editor with FCKeditor

I've seen a few people mention that they've replaced Portals RTE with FCKeditor in the Portal 10.1.2 release. As ever Oracles documentation is scant (that's being generous) as to how to do this. If anyone has, can you give me an example of how you have modified your buildUIembed.html file.
I've currently got this partially working, the new RTE is displaying, but the page won't submit. Portals JS is trying to .save() the RTE content, a method which it apparently doesn't support!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Does anyone know if there are any printers out there currently being sold that actually work with Airport Extreme (802.11g)? Not the latest 802.11n basestation, but the UFO-shaped Extreme g basestation? I recently tried the HP DeskJet D4160 and it does not work at all with it, although my deprecated HP 940c works just fine. I need to replace the 940C, and I don't want to have to buy and return 20 different printers in order to find one that actually works... Any help is appreciated!
