HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC AP/Program Recovery

One day when I turned on my lap top all of my programs were gone.  For example, microsoft word, rosetta stone, all my browsers, spotify.  Basically any AP/program I had ever installed.  There is a link on my desktop which says removed aps and it opens in windows explorer and list all of these.  Is there anyway to get these back?
Further I have tried and tried to install a new browser but it keeps saying it does no have access to my desktop when I attempt to download.  Anytime I click on any file or folder on my desktop it tells me I do not have permision and click continue to gain permission and it loads my documents.  My HP support assistant crashes everytime I try to use it to help.
Is there anyway to fix all of this?  I have no clue even where to start.

Oh and it is windows 8

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk.  First when I power on my notebook it goes straight to the launch recovery or launch Windows normally screen.  When I choose start windows normally, it goes to the window screen and freeze.  When I try to launch the start-up with windows 7 start-up disk, the computer will not load the files.  When I tried to complete a hard drive test, it failed with a failure ID 9UXNXA-55E65V-XD003G-60XR03.
I'm looking for a solution, can someone help?

    Hi:
It sounds like you need to purchase a new hard drive for your notebook, and reinstall the operating system with your recovery disks.
When a HDD fails a diagnostic test, it normally means it is done for.

  • Having problem of unstalling SWEETIM from my HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC

Hi, I use HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and the Operating system is windows 7 professional 32 - Bit Sersvice pack 1. For many months now I have been having difficulty trying to unstall SWEETIM from my Laptop. I don't know how this get installed in my Laptop. Each to time I try to unstall through UNSTALL PROGRAM from Control Panel it will not work. Below arethe responses I usually receive: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable, click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package, SweetIMsetup.msi in the box below" If I clicked OK, it will say installation  source for this is not available. This has been a big problem to me. I really want to Unstall this from my computer. I would be grateful  I can get a reply on how to achieve this.

Hi there , I understand that you are having trouble removing SWEETIM from your system. I am happy to help  with this. Ok, it seems you have become infected with SWEETIM, which is one of many forms of malware. Often there are tools you can find online with instructions on how to remove a specific type of malware. You can investigate those, but I recommend caution as some of those are themselves sources of malware, spyware, etc. First here is some information that may be of use to you.
About Spyware, Adware, and Browser Hijacking SoftwareHP PCs - Using Windows Defender to Prevent Malware Problems (Windows 7) Microsoft resources and guidance for removal of malware and viruses - support.microsoft.com After that, normally the solution HP would suggest is a recovery of the factory image, to eliminate the infection. Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7)
Troubleshooting HP System Recovery Problems (Windows 7) If you wish to preserve your data you can try to make a backup, but you would want to be sure your backup is not also going to load the same malware or viruses on your system. You can also look at a local computer service to clean your machine, or try one of the online tools.

Your system does not meet the miniumum requirements for this update. Update has been cancelled. (9996). It says AMD USB Controller Driver. It should work on my computer since it's Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Please help me fix my ports. Just my 2 ports on my left side of the computer isn't working. The right side of the computer port is working.

Thanks for the help, but I found the program to fix it. After searching for hours. • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: restore system and drivers

Hi. Some days ago I faced a bad experience with my laptop HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. System crashed. At anytime I tried to switch it on, a message error appeared and system was blocked. Message was: FILE:\BOOT\BCD Status 0xc000000f, asking for running the Windows 7 System disk. But System disk didn't run at all. I checked situation and found the hard disk with 6 partitions instead of 2. I found a partition named BOOT (X that was a replica of C:.  When I tried to restore the system by the recovery disk, something got control of the recovery disk, so that C: could not be formatted; neither X: was. Also, I tried to cancel files in X: but disk was protected and didn't allow any changes. So I could only get my hard disk uninstalled and all the partitions were cleaned off. I got my hard disk perfectly cleaned, but my recovery disk could not be installed properly. Therefore, system was not restored yet. My question is: what should I do to get my laptop with restored system? any ideas?
    This question was solved.

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of your computer or inside the battery compartment. Please do not include your serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and/or post it here for our review.
Depending on the age on your computer, it may have come from the factory with 5 or more partitons. This is common on newer computers that utilize UEFI and GPT partitions. The "Windows 7 System disk", the computer wass asking for is either a Windows 7 installation disc or a Windows 7 Repair Disc. Neither of these discs come with your HP computer and must be downloaded and/or created in Windows.
Start by using your HP Recovery Disc set (should be 3 or more DVDs). Insert disc #1 and reboot your computer to start the process. Insert the remaining discs as requested, until the recovery is finished.
If this doesn't work and you can read the 25-digit Microsoft Windows 7 product key on th Microsoft COA affixed to your computer, please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" to download Windows 7 SP1, create the Windows installation DVD, and install Windows 7.  If you prefer to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash Drive, please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash Drive. After installing Windows using this method , you will no longer have any HP customizations or software. You will also need to identify and download drivers for hardware devices that Windows 7 didn't already supply drivers for.

    Hey Sam55555,
I see that you're having an issue with the webcam.
Could you provide me with a model and product number of your notebook.
So that I may look into this further to try and provide you with more helpful instructions.
Also, this Document should help you out. If it doesn't let me know the full model name and i will find a document for your notebook.
What i consider doing is the section that says "Reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer".

  • Lost all sound on my HP Pavilion dv6 notebook

I have a HP Pavillion dv6 notebook with a Widows 7 operating system and have lost all sound. Any suggestions as this is a 6 month old notebook?

I had the same issue last night after an automatic BIOS update.  I read about 7 pages of posts that seem to deal with the same issue and found a combination of actions that seem to have restored my audio functions completely.  I posted the solution and it resolved the issue for at least one other user who commented back.  It it works for you, please also post that it worked for you.  I suspect there are alot of users out there that have or will be experiencing the same issue.  It would be nice if HP would post the appropriate solution, it seems to have been going on for awhile.
    1. Through 'Device Manager / Sound, video and game controller' I uninstalled my audio driver (IDT High Definition CODEC) and also deleted the driver software for the device.
    2. Through 'Programs and Features' I uninstalled the IDT Audio Software (vers 1.0.6418.0) that was installed with the BIOS update.
    --> This forced a reboot.
--> When my system rebooted it automatically searched and found the appropriate audio driver -- now I've got audio and Media Center works fine...
    Hope this helps you.

  • HP Pavilion G6 Notebook (laptop) plugged in, not charging.

    Hi,
I bought an HP Pavilion G6 notebook only a couple of months ago, and I have had this problem from the beginning. I have looked at some other forums and it seems like a lot of people have had the same problem with the laptop being plugged in, but not charging.
This problem is really frustrating, as the laptop is plugged in to the power source, and into the laptop, but half the time it isn't even registered as being plugged in. The battery gets drained. Once or twice the battery has fully run out (whilst plugged in) and then been charged to 100% next time it was turned on(???!!!!).
Please tell me if this is some kind of programming or software fault, or if it could be a hardware fault. I have run the battery checker several times and each time it has not found any problems with it. As the laptop sometimes recognises that it is in fact plugged in (but doesn't charge) I personally suspect that it is not a problem with the power adapter.
    PLEASE HELP ME!
    Thanks.
    (Sorry for the long message)

Yes. Just put it back in.
You can do that while the power adapter is plugged in and the notebook is booted into Windows.

  • HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC - Video playback issues

    Hi,
The product I am using is HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and a Windows 8.1 operating system.
I am currently experiencing a problem with my laptop. Whenever I try and play a video no matter what website I am using one of two things happen. The video either buffers but does not play at all (no sound or video) for a minute or the video play for 7 second (with no sound) then freezes for about a minute and then plays the sound from the beginning and only starts playing the video when the sound catches up.
Note - when I try to play several vidoes as once they all start playing at the same time.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

A few things to try ChrisM95. The first thing to check is the volume mixer from desktop mode. Right click on your volume icon in the system tray, and 'open volume mixer'. When you go to a site and play a video, you may get a new slider for that site. Make sure it is not muted, and the slider is up.
Here is Googles troubleshooting list for YouTube: No sound on videos
Here is the general no sound document. Don't discount it right away, go through the steps to make sure it is configured correctly: No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)
I am not certain if you have the Recovery Manager, but if you do you might be able to restore the original IDT Audio drivers using this method: Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8)

I grasp you did a system recovery back to factory and now you are missing the driver for the fingerprint reader.
You have a couple of options, you can download the driver from the HP website and install or use recovery manager to install original driver.
    AuthenTec Fingerprint Sensor Driver sp54850.exe
Cannot Logon to Windows with SimplePass Fingerprint Reader, please select resolve using recovery manager.

I purchased a HP Pavilion dv6040us Notebook PC back on 2006.My sys. is one that was shipped w/o dsk.It was my understanding the D drive is the HP Recovery dsk. The problem I have is, the drive is empty (no recovery files). My question is, how can I recover anything I need that’s lost or damaged? Now my QuickPlay/DVD Play is not working. Is it possible to Download QuickPlay/DVD Play 2.x for XP from your site or can you send me the disk or all dsk that the system should have had been included with my sys.when I purchased it? s/n [removed for privacy] p/n ez473ua

HP has not shipped discs with systems for many years, instead you are supposed to create your own set when you first start using the PC when new, but you cannot now since the recovery partition is empty.
