Hp Pavilion p6510f Graphics Card

Hello,
I am looking for a graphics card for this computer. I want one that I can play spintires and space engineers on but it under 100 dollars. The lower the price the better.
Suggestions are welcomed.

  • HP Pavilion A6603W Graphics card upgrading help.

    Current Graphics card:
GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i (integrated into motherboard as a chip)
    Power supply#: ATX-250-12Z-REV-D7R  (250 Watts I believe?)
Computer Model: ( HP Pavilion A6603W)
Problem: Trying to figure out which is the best graphics card to upgrade with to keep up to date with the current games, such as : Battlefield, bad company 2, Just cause 2, Amnesia: Dark descent.
Now as for the power supply, I am sure Ill need to upgrade that as well. But I found a pretty reasonable one online at fry's electronics:
    http://www.frys.com/product/5503410
But as for the graphics card, I am completely lost here at what I kind I can buy and not buy. most of my games require to have at least DirectX10 or higher, which my graphics card only supports DirectX 9. I have also seen that some graphics cards require power slots? I am completely new to this and I would like to have support from users.
Oh and by the way, the minimum I can spend is 250$
    any suggestions?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Salko, to play the games that you mention, you will need a good mid-level video card.  I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  The main thing to check is the length of the card.  The newer cards that are 10" or longer may not fit in the space provided.  With a PSU that is at least 500W, you have allot of choices.
The Antec PSU should be fine.  However, I like OCZ and Corsair PSU's for superior clean, stable power.  They are both enthusiast/gamer PSU manufacturers.  Check Newegg for a PSU that has allot of reviews (read them) and is rated at least 4 eggs.  This is a good indicator of the quality of the product from those who are using it.

  • Hp pavilion 1170uk graphics card compatability

I have a HP Pavilion 1170uk and have tried upgrading graphics card to a Gigabyte Nvidia Geforce GTX770 4GB.
When I start the computer it stops at hp boot screen and says press esc to enter startup menu and beeps about every 10-15 seconds.
I have put in a new 700w psu to run the card and when I put the original graphics card that came with the computer it starts up fine with this psu.
This sounds like a bios problem and I have the latest bios from the hp website installed on machine.
Is there a new bios coming out or can I get one from anywhere to run this graphics card or do I have to upgrade the motherboard aswell ?

    LeonaL, welcome to the forum.
There are two things to consider when upgrading to a dedicated video card: 1) the wattage required tto run it properly as you mentioned and 2) the length of the card.
You could easily get by with a 600W to 650W Corsair PSU.  Corsair makes enthu siast quality PSU's for reasonable prices.
To assure that the card will fit, you can make a template the size of the card and try in the space provided.  Add one inch for any additional power connectors on the card.  It should fit with room for good airflow.
The reason for a video card not working in a computer is they require UEFI Firmware in the motherboard, instead of a standard BIOS.
EVGA video cards before the GT 650 don't require UEFI. You can call each manufacturer's Tech Support to asure that it will work in your computer.

  • Hp Pavilionn 2700t Graphics card

Hi all, I just bought a game for my laptop and aparently the graphics card doesn't support it. I am wondering if I am able to upgrade but I do not know if my laptop has an integrated graphics card. Can anyone help here? The product number is KQ654AV. The graphics card is a Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Or is there any other way to increase the speed of my laptop? I am wanting to play Dawn of War 2, but it plays slowly...It doesn't require a great card, but obviously a better one than the one I have is needed for smoother gameplay. Any help would be great.

  • Pavilion Dv9548 graphics card went out need help!

Was told by geek squid at best buy that it possibley comes with an extra slot for a new graphics card if the main went out was hoping someone can give me info about it and if so can post a link for which card ill need

Wrong answer Geek Squid. No, sorry. The video card is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced. The motherboard can be replaced, or the video card can be repaired by a reflow. Geek Squid would have no idea what that is.
The dv9000 series with nVidia video has had massive failure rates. There is no good or reliable fix, just temporary patches. The best advice is to cut your losses and buy a new laptop. Again, sorry.

  • Regarding the installation of new graphic card into the p6510f desktop

    1. Product Name and Number
    • HP PAVILION P6510F DESKTOP
    2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
    Windows 7 64-bit
    3. Error message (if any)
    • no error message, but i have a new Geforce GTS 250 1G PCI-E Graphic Card. I just wonder that it is compatible on my desktop or not.
    4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
    No, not at all

Hi, You need a HP version 8 BIOS to support the NVIDIA GTX 960.  There is a version 8 BIOS posted but it's a one way installation (no back out).  There is always some risk to installing a BIOS update. If it fails, you might have to send your PC in for service. The 460 watt power supply in your PC should have an auxiliary PCI-E 6 pin power connector available.

  • Is it possible to upgrade/add a graphics card to a Pavilion dv7-7000 laptop?

I've been doing a lot of research lately, to mostly no avail, about whether or not my HP Pavilion dv7-7025dx laptop can have a dedicated GPU added to it, as currently it only has the integrated Intel HD 4000 Mobile graphics card.
Mostly I've come across the unfortunate agreement that most laptops cannot have their graphics cards upgraded/swapped out, since the graphics card is soldered on to the motherboard. However, after talking to an HP "support representative", they said they believed it was possible to add a graphics card, as long as it is compatible with the HM77 45W UMA Motherboard my computer has.
Furthermore, after finding the maitenence and service manual online for my computer ( http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf ) it says that it could have come with switchable graphics, specifically the Nvidia Geforce 630M or 650M.
So I am wondering, is it really at all possible to add a dedicated graphics card, either by having switchable graphics or something else? Or am I stuck with the integrated Intel HD graphics?
If I can upgrade/add a new card, where would I be able to find/buy a compatible one, and would I be able to install it myself or would I need to go to a local computer repair?
My laptop is the HP Pavilion dv7-7025dx Entertainment Notebook.
It has an Intel Core i7- 3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz, 8GB memory, 750GB hard drive (5400 rpm).
I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit).

    Hi,
You can't add a dedicated graphics card to the system like this. The vga is soldered to the board so no way you can just plug it in like on a desktop. However, you can buy a new motherboard with the dedicated graphics card on it. It also requires a new heat sink.
    Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03221579.pdf
You need a 682040-001 board plus 682061-001 heat sink to have a dedicated graphics card on your laptop. Have a look on ebay for the part numbers.

  • [HP PAVILION DV6T-7000 (A5F76AV)] Can the graphics card be upgraded?

    Hi.
My [HP DV6T-7000 (A5F76AV)] has a dedicated NVIDIA GT-650M 2GB graphics card. Would it be possible to upgrade this to say GTX-680M or higher?
    Thanks.

    According to the HP Pavilion dv6 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service Guide, the discrete graphics adapter is part of the system board and only came in four versions;
    NVIDIAR GeForceR 630M with 1024-MB of dedicated video memory (64-MB×16 DDR3 900-MHz×8 PCs)NVIDIAR GeForceR 630M with 2048-MB of dedicated video memory (128-MB×16 DDR3 900-MHz×8 PCs)
NVIDIAR GeForceR 650M with 1024-MB of dedicated video memory (32-MB×32 GDDR5×8 PCs, 5Gbps)NVIDIAR GeForceR 650M with 2048-MB of dedicated video memory (64-MB×32 GDDR5×8 PCs, 5Gbps)
There is no possibility of upgrading the existing adapter to a GTX-680M.

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion a1020n Desktop Computer and it's PTGD-LA (Goldfish3) motherboard. According to the specs, your computer has no dedicated graphics card expansion slot. The only expansion slots available on this system are three traditional and/or conventional PCI slots. One of these slots currently contains a K56flex modem.
Here is a selection of PCI graphics cards that may meet your requirements. Please note that these cards may also require you to upgrade your power supply as well.

    Hey guys,
I have HP pavilion Dv6 which have AMD Radeon Graphics card(may be 69xx or 74xx radeon series 1Gb ddr3).

    Problem:
I was playing NFS when the system froze,so i turned it off forcefully, after that laptop always get stuck at windows logo.I also tried to switch the (bios)dynamic option(graphic) to fixed,in this option i do get past the logo but i am presented with blank screen ,in short no luck.
However i have managed to get it to work with ubuntu with intel default video card , through advanced recovery option.
What can i do to use some how similar approach for windows 7 i.e disable dedicated video card?
Can Graphics card can be repaired/changed easily?
    Thanks

Have you checked the hard drive using Diagnostics in BIOS? Or F2 immediately after power on? (F2 may not work if you deleted the Diagnostic partition to install Ubuntu)
