HP Pavilion p7-1030d Problem.

Hello Everyone,
Good day. I am having issues with my system. It seems the sytem is always restarting on its own even iniside the BIOS setup. Then after the meantime of several unexpected system restarts it will just leave the HSF spins very fast and there's no boot, no video output. I try to bareboard it with leaving the PSU, MOBO, 1 RAM, and CPU+HSF. But still just the same problem. I already tried other working PSU and RAM(still the same). Also try resetting BIOS and properly reseated the CPU and HSF(just still the same).

Hello @Joru,
I understand that you are having issues with your computer restarting even if you are in the BIOS, and that you have tried replacing the PSU and running it with the bare miniumum and still having the same problem. I would advise that you try a different power cord and even a different wall outlet (do not use a power bar or surge protector) and see if that helps. IF it does not I suspect you have a motherboard or CPU issue and would advise that you call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • Pavilion DV9008NR BIOS problem Windows 8 32-bit

I have an older Pavilion DV9008NR notebook:
    RAM - 2 GB RAM
    CPU - Athlon Turion 64 x2 1.6 GHz TL-50
    Motherboard - Quanta 30B9
    Chipset - NVDIA GeForce 6150
Southbridge - NVIDIA NForce 410/430 MCP
    BIOS HP F.43 3/22/2010
Nvidia GPU - GeForce Go 6150 (UMA)  (display adapter MS Bsic Disply Adapter C52 A.2
This was previously loaded with WinXP SP3 and slipstreamed with nLite 1.42 to load SATA drivers.  It had previously had the BIOS flashed to F.43 (latest version).
It was "clean" upgraded with Windows 8 Pro Upgrade after passing all tests.
Upon rebooting, I got the  standard HP/Phoenix BIOS screen with the usual prompts for <F10> BIOS Setup and <Esc> Boot Order.
Every time after that, the <F10> and <Esc> prompts are gone, and Win8 loads *faster* than usual.
Win 8 functionality appears fine, and the need Ricoh 5-in-1 and NVIDIA coprocesser drivers loaded without difficulty.
I went back to my old WinXP image, and BIOS loaded several times normally with <F10> and <Esc> prompts.
After reloading Win8, back to problem of no prompts after first reboot.
Trying <F10> or <Esc> during the BIOS load does *not* get you into BIOS Setup or Boot Order.
It appears that somewhere that Win8 is "pre-empting" the normal "flow" of the BIOS.
I do understand that Win8 does have some feature to take control to keep  Boot Sector malware from taking control.
Is this what is happening?  (Which becomes a real problem with <F10> and <Esc> maybe needed),
Is this a BIOS bug, or
    Is there something else.
    Thanks~

I'm sorry but this was very difficult to read. If I understand you are having an issue installing Windows 8 32-bit. Is this right?
If so this is not supported as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5628. Specifically: "If you need to use a 32-bit version, you need to use Boot Camp 4 Support Software, and you must use Windows 7. 32-bit versions of Windows 8 are not supported via Boot Camp."

  • HP Pavilion g6 ___ Problem : Windows 7 Bitlocker.

    Hi.
I have an HP Pavilion g6.
My problem is that. I have a 150 GB logical drive. I protected that drive with Win 7 Bitlocker protection. Accidentlly I formatted that drive using quick format. Main scenario is that I formatted that drive when it was in locked / protected state. So I used lots of recovery tools, my 90 GB data recovered. But problem is that due to the formatting of protected bitlocker drive , recovered data is also in protected state that is in encrypted form. So what I do ?  I have Bitlocker recovery key.
Please give me solution. My data is very important.
As per my knowledge, my data is still in intact , quick format just deletes the indexes and object name from mft is it ?
    Thanks in advance . . . !

    Hi KetanPote,
I understand you need assistance with BitLocker recovery keys. Here is a link from Microsoft on BitLocker recovery keys: Frequently asked questions.
Here is also a document from Microsoft on quick format.
    Hope this helps.

  • Pavilion 22bw monitor - problem with Windows 7

Hello all, I have lately been having a problem with my HP Pavilion Slimline Windows 7 PC recognizing my HP Pavilion 22bw monitor (purchased separately from the PC). This problem was, for a while, sporadically popping up after the computer/monitor went to sleep and "reawoke", but is now basically happening every time I reboot.
The basic problem is: The monitor display is always at a low resolution and is often weirdly offset to the right, and the desktop extends beyond the screen. The display settings under Windows (Windows 7 Home Premium,  6.1.7601 Service Pack) only recognize the monitor as "Generic Non P&P Monitor". This is new and concurrent with the problem, as I have used this monitor and its HP driver with no issues for months.
I have tried re-installing the display drivers, fiddling with the power management settings, and plugging/unplugging the monitor, all to no avail. I tried manually setting resolution through the software and the display hardware as well.
Any ideas? Could it be a conflict with the graphic driver (onboard Intel)?
The strange thing is this started happening with no other computer changes, like new hardware/software, occurring, to my memory.
Thanks much to any who might have some insight.
    tcoreyb

    Hi tcoreyb,
What version of Win 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) and what is the product number of your Slimline PC?
Try setting the monitor back to factory settings using the monitor's On Screen Display. If the symptom persists, then navigate to Control Panel - Device Manager - Monitors and uninstall the current monitor display driver.
Reboot your system. If the symptom persists, try installing the HP monitor display driver and utility tools found here  if your operating system, (OS), is 64 bit or here  if your OS is 32 bit.
If this does not correct, then try reinstalling your Slimline, factory installed, Intel graphics driver via HP's  Recovery Manager driver reinstallation instructions.
Can you test the monitor on a different computer? That may help to isolate the problem to either the monitor or a graphics driver problem.

  • Pavilion dv8000 audio problem

    Hi everybody,
I did a clean install of windows 7 on my HP Pavilion dv8000 just last night, most everything is working fine except one thing, my audio.
I successfuly installed the drivers but in the device manager I get a message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" wherther or not this is a problem with windows 7, I'm not sure, however the problem started when I installed it any suggestions on fixing this would be appreciated

My problem with Win7 drivers on a dv8000 unit with AC97 audio is consistent with what has been aired here (audio, mass storage, modem). The audio was most egregious. I followed a number of solutions over (3) days which eventually led me me to sp35558. But it did not install without tweaking. I followed this advice, and then tweaked it. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Windows-7-Beta-and-test/NEED-HELP-Windows-7-sound-drivers-for-dv8310us/...
After that failed, I did this routine:
    1) right-click the question marked (unknown audio) device and choose update driver software.
    2) Click "Browse my computer for driver software."
    3) Choose "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer"
    4) Page down to and choose "Sound Video and Game controllers"
    5) Choose (Click) the "Have Disk" button on that dialogue box.
    6) browse to the folder with the CP6308Ba.inf file.
    7) Choose the inf from the browser, "open" it and press OK.
It will warn you that the driver is not signed in the process. Just OK it.
It installed the drivers after that as "Conexant AC Link Audio."
    I love my audio again.

  • PAVILION DV2000 PRINTING PROBLEM

I HAVE A LAPTOP PAVILION DV2000 AND AN HP DESKJET 3320......THECOMPUTER RECOGNIZES THE PRINTER AND PRINT "TEST PAGE"...BUT IF I WANT TO PRINT A DOCUMENT, NOTHING HAPPENS.......PLEASE HELP

Check the keyboard cable's connection to the motherboard. Sometimes the contacts can oxidize a little and keep the cable from making good contact. Try completely taking the keyboard out and reconnecting it, make sure the locking clip holding the keyboard into the connector is working properly. If it isn't a problem with the cable and a second keyboard shows the same problem, you are probably looking at a fault on the motherboard. The only way to deal with that is send it out to have it fixed, or buy a new motherboard.

  • HP pavilion touchsmart sleepmode problem

Hey all, I'm very happy with my new HP pavilion 14-n020ed notebook, but there's  a problem that's bothering me.Every time I make it go out of sleepmode, it reboots as if it was turned of. When in sleepmode, I see a white light flashing, indicating that it really is in sleepmode, so the problem has to be something about getting out of it I guess.  Might it be some sort of driver problem? I'm running windows 8.1 on it. I'd love to hear what you guys think Cya

Hello calmah, I am sorry to hear that the above troubleshooting steps have not resolved the sleep mode issue. At this point I would suggest restoring your computer back to Windows  8, making sure that everything is updated, and compatible, and then upgrading again to Windows 8.1 To start off, I would strongly suggest that you do back up all you important information, to either an external hard drive, or flash drive, CD/DVD, or an online backup software. This way you can make sure that your files, document, and pictures are safe! Once you have  all your information backed up, and safe, you will need to complete a full system recovery on your notebook. I have included the document 'Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8)'. After you have restored your computer back to Windows 8, you will need to complete all HP and Windows updates. I have included the document 'Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8)'. Scroll about half way down the page until you see Updates and tune-ups. Under this section you will see an option for both HP updates, and Windows updates. Please follow the steps to make sure that you do have all the latest updates. The next step will be to make sure that your computer can run Windows 8.1. I have included the document 'Update to Windows 8.1: FAQ'. Please click on the option for Can my PC run Windows 8.1, and run the Windows 8.1 Upgrade Assistant. This will scan your computer to make sure that everything has been done before you do upgrade to Windows 8.1 again. When everything shows as good, and all updates have been completed, you can then upgrade again to Windows 8.1. I have included the document 'Updating Windows 8 to 8.1'. Please let me know the outcome of the above troubleshooting steps. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • HP Pavilion dv3500t Touchpad Problem - Need Help

I'm running into touchpad problems with my HP Pavilion dv3500t whenever I have the battery charger plugged into the laptop.  When plugged in, the cursor starts drifting uncontrollably and automatically clicks the screen without me lifting my finger from the touchpad.  If I unplug the power plug and run on battery, the touchpad works perfectly.  Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?  Anyone know how I can solve this annoying issue with the touchpad? Basically the touchpad is useless when power is plugged in. I'm running Vista 64-bit with all the latest touchpad drivers and firmware.  The touchpad is an Alps touchpad.  Any help is appreciated.
