HP Pavilion s5-1224 (Windows 7 64-bit) power supply problem

Can 550W SATA Power Supply work/ fit my hp pavilion model: s5-1224?
link:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/550W-SATA-Power-Supply-New-design-with-larger-fan-Pulled-from-HP-Pavilion-/2...
I want to upgrade my power supply, but I am not sure if this will fit.
Any replys will be appreciated

I would be a little cautious when ordering from eBay.  It's a used power supply for $5 and the seller used a HDD term (SATA) to describe the power supply.  Granted, they could just be saying that it does have SATA power connectors.
It looks like a standard ATX power supply.
To answer your question, no that power supply will not fit your system.  Your particular system is a slimline and requires a unique power supply to fit the case.
The following is the original power supply your unit came with.  You will need one that is like it.
http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Original-Supply-FH-ZD221MGR-633195-001/dp/B00BJ0QW16
This site claims it is a slimline power supply and provides the dimensions of the power supply.  I would get the dimensions of the power supply currently in the system.  If they match, then that would more than likely be an upgrade for your system.

Hello lang4.  I understand you want to download the webcam drivers for your notebook.
Normally the webcam drivers are included with the Cyberlink YouCam package that Paul linked to above.  Have you installed this package?  If not, try that first.
If that hasn't worked for you please provide your product number, this document can show you where it is located.  I will use this to locate the software for you.

  • Is anyone running Photoshop CS6 on a Windows Vista 32 bit machine  without problems

Is anyone running Photoshop CS6 on a Windows Vista 32 bit machine  without problems? I have over 400 GB,s  free disc space (c drive) and still am getting lots of errors and program closing problems.  I do not have USB3 on my machine so if I purchased a few 256  GB ssd drives would this help it from crashing?
Thank you in advance for any guidance.

Jack, as Curt has suggested, available drive space comes well down the list regards a happy experience with Photoshop.   You have also asked a self-defeating question, because the fact you are running Vista, and a 32bit version at that, more or less precludes the ability to run without problems.
Windows 7 was billed as the first MS OS to need less system resources than its predecessor.  If your system hardware will support 64bit, then consider paying $90 for an OS upgrade  What is your system out of interest?  I have a feeling you are running with just 2Gb RAM, which just isn’t enough.  Post your specs or make and model, and I am sure you’ll get some help with what your mainboard will handle by way of RAM and whether it will support 64bit.

  • My HP Pavilion 775C with Windows XP 32 bit SP3 has begun to startup in Windows Recovery Mode.

I have had many problems with my Pavilion a775c desktop, running XP 32 Bit with SP3 and 2.5 G Ram.  I was receiving a Fatal Error message 1327 that Drive M did not exist.  I did a selective startup eliminating the programs I thought were causing this but that did not help.  Then I cleaned away all the files for any HP printer, and for my current printer, an  Officejet j3680 All-in-One, and then reinstalled it.  That took care of the fatal error message but I began to get a message that my DRive D was out of memory.  I deleted some regular files that were previously stored on that drive before I increased the memory on my Drive C but I continued to receive that message.  I cleaned the registry with Registry Mechanic and then deleted files I though would not harm the computer and I no longer get the Drive D low on memory message but now the computer starts up each time in recovery mode and If I'm not there to select the Windows XP option it goes to a dos screen but nothing ever happens from there.   I'm not that familiar with DOS and don't know anything except to type EXIT which I did and the computer would reboot giving my an opportunity to select Windows XP.  Now, however, it won't allow me to type EXIT.  I must instead hit enter and then it goes to the screen that allows me to select the Windows environment.  I really don't want to have to do this each time I start up.  Can anyone help?

I am not that familiar anymore with troubleshooting Windows XP, but way back in the day I seem to recall that the Windows recovery console would be used to fix issues like the one you're describing. It sounds like you may have a corrupted boot sector if it keeps going into the windows recovery mode.  The solution could be as simple as using the last known good configuration or possibly doing a system restore.  You may want to try this link on Technet that explains the recovery console and the tools available in it like fixmbr..

Worst case you may be looking at doing a reinstall of windows XP.

  • When I open Firefox, even in safe mode, it causes my Windows 7 64-bit to totally crash and I get that blue screen of death =(. This has happened suddenly on Nov 16, 2010. I had been running Firefox on Windows 7 64-bit with no problems previously. Help?

I have had Windows 7 64 bit for the past year and have run Firefox with no problem. It was the most problem free of the three browsers including IE and Chrome.
I have a Vista side where I run my online backup and did so yesterday. Went on Firefox. No Problem.
Today I booted into the Windows 7 side. Seemed to boot up okay. Until I opened Firefox. Suddenly, my whole computer crashed, windows shut down and that bluescreen popped up. I restarted normally. Same thing. I restarted in safe-mode. Couldn't find any problems. Went back to regular mode. Started FF. Boom crash.
Back to safe mode. Did a system restore. Back to regular startup. Didn't help. Attempting to open FF crahed windows.
So back to safe mode. Started Firefox. Crashed the whole computer and same blues screen.
So I uninstalled FF. Reinstalled FF. It still makes Windows crash.
So now I am on IE :P

  • Windows 7 64 bit Sound Card Problem

In January 2009, we had a 64 bit operating system problem http://forums.adobe.com/message/1015026#1015026. Our software, which was published using Version 6.5, was freezing on a customer’s computer on playing the first sound file, then if the sound file was by-passed, on displaying the first swf. The problem was eventually resolved by Mike Baker publishing our a6p file in Authorware 7, and this cured the fault. So we upgraded to Authorware 7.02 and since then no further problems ... until December 2010.
We launched our Italian Course late November and had a not dissimilar sort of problem reported by a customer. He's tried uninstalling & re-installing the software but the fault keeps re-occurring. The computer displays a "not responding" message. Debugging, we discovered that the message appears when trying to play the initial mp3 file (fixed bit rate) … the program does eventually continue but without playing the sound file. It then keeps hanging (there are thousands of sound files in our course), and none of the sound files play: text & pictures are displaying normally. Eventually the program freezes and has to be killed with ctrl+alt+delete.
The computer in question is a Dell Inspiron 580s, & the operating system Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I’m awaiting details of the sound card & confirmation that his drivers are up-to-date but I presume they will be (Windows 7 default is to keep drivers updated). I haven’t got the customer to carry out basic tests sound file tests yet, but he indicates no problems with Media Player or with iTunes.
Extras in our XTRAS folder include:-
    AWMP3.X32
    MIX32.X32
    MIXVIEW.X32
    NETFILE.X32
    SWADCMPR.X32
    VIEWSVC.X32
    INETURL.X32
    FLASHASSET/FLASHAST.X32
The database for our Italian course is now in ProgramData. (previous courses, database was in Program Files and run in XP compatible mode). We’re having problems with this location with Windows 7 64 bit … it is maintaining a copy in Virtual Store and updating the file there. No such problem with XP, Vista or Windows 7 32 bit. I see this as an unrelated problem. We got the customer to run the software in XP mode but the problem was not corrected.
We do have customers successfully running our software on Windows 7 64 bit operating system computers; we had a minor ODBC glitch reported recently from a 64 bit user.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Tom,
I concur with Steve that this is probably system-specific. A couple of things you may want to try:
    1. Be sure you're using the Xtras that came with Authorware 7.02 and not 6.5. For example, I believe mixview.x32 and viewsvc.x32 were updated in Authorware 7.
    2. Try making a little AW program with 4 or 5 buttons that each trigger an imported MP3 file, where each audio file has different output settings (e.g. mono vs stereo, 64kbps vs. 92 kbps, etc.). Package it up and send it to the Dell user to test it. You may stumble upon an audio output setting that works on that particular machine.

Hi there, i just got through an issue with BEx connecting to SAP on a laptop using Windows 7. After googling and sdning and SAP noting for a while did not find any suitable answer to this issue which seems strange to me as Windows 7 64 bit is not really a brand new product. Hi Alex ,
SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 and all related applications including SAP Desktop Office Integration / BI Frontend / BW Frontend do not support Office 2010 64bit, only 32bit versions of Office are supported.
This means that when using 64bit operating sytems with SAP GUI for Windows and related components you have to use a 32bit Microsoft Office version .
For your issue , you can check these Notes.

Hello lugnut1204, I checked the specifications for your system and is appears the system shipped with a 250 power supply. The dimensions for this power supply are 5 15/16 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and 3 3/8 inches tall. Since your system is a MicroATX version, you would be slightly limited to a power supply of the same size as the original power supply.
Here  is a link to Newegg where a Corsair 600 watt power supply can be found with almost the exact same physical size as you original 250 watt version. The Corsair power supply dimensions are 5.9 inches wide, 5.5 inches long, and 3.4 inches tall.
If you get a power supply too long, it may interfer with the back of the CD\DVD drives.
You would need to locate a video card that you wanted and make sure the power supply requirements were less than the 600 watt Corsair model. Most of the mid to higher end cards require at leaset a 400 to 500 watt or greater power supply.
Please click the White Kudos star on the left, to say thanks.
Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem.

  • HP Pavilion DV7-6190ED Windows 7 64-Bit Recovery not working

    Hello,
I just bought a new (used as showmodel) laptop at a local store.
But I'm having a problem with the recovery now.
    What happened:
When I first booted my laptop and after it started windows, I saw some flickering pixels on the screen. I did some research on that and looked at the computer, and found out that the drivers were conflicting with eachother. After that problem I tried a factory restore and removing and installing some drivers, this didn't work. After that I tried restoring with a minimalistic image (sorry if I misspelled), but when the restoring was complete it said that the restoring wasn't finished. My problem now is that it won't boot Windows anymore, but directly boots into recovery manager. I'm sure that the recovery partition exists and I don't have a recovery DVD.
I would be happy if someone is able to help me.

    Hi:
From what you wrote it appears you will either have to purchase a recovery DVD set by reading the info at the link below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07143&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
Or....make your own plain Windows 7 installation disk by following the instructions below (or do it temporarily until your recovery disks arrive).
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

    Hi:
    You need these drivers...
    SMBus Controller:
Download, unzip and manually install the smbus controller driver I attached under Attachments below.
Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing drivers.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then reboot.
USB3:   Install both of these and reboot.
